He was born to Somawwa and Chanabasappa Angadi. He was married and has 2 daughters. He was from KK Koppa, a village in Belagavi district and Belgaum Taluka. He completed his graduation from S.S.S. Samithi College of commerce in Belagavi. Later he also graduated in [[Law]] from the prestigious Raja Lakhamgouda Law College, Belagavi.

Suresh Angadi (1 June 1955 – 23 September 2020) was an Indian politician who is the current Minister of State for Railways, in India. He was a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka state. He had been elected to Lok Sabha from Belagavi in 2004 (14th Lok Sabha), 2009, 2014 and 2019.

He was born to Somawwa and Chanabasappa Angadi. He was married and has 2 daughters. He was from KK Koppa, a village in Belagavi district and Belgaum Taluka. He completed his graduation from S.S.S. Samithi College of commerce in Belagavi. Later he also graduated in Law from the prestigious Raja Lakhamgouda Law College, Belagavi.

Before Lok Sabha session in September 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, he tested positive for Covid-19 but was asymptomatic. He isolated himself and was admitted to the AIIMS hospital, Delhi. However, he breathed his last there on 23rd September, 2020.

Career

A member of Bharatiya Janata Party, he became the vice president of the party's Belagavi district unit in 1996. He continued in that office till 1999. In 2001 he was nominated as the president of the district unit and continued to hold that post until he was nominated as the party's candidate for the Belagavi (Belgaum) Lok Sabha constituency in 2004. He defeated his opponent of the Indian National Congress by a large margin and became a Member of the 14th Lok Sabha. He was re-elected to Lok Sabha from Belagavi in 2009, 2014, 2019.

In May 2019, Angadi became Minister of State for Railways.[1]
