    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here).

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    Altered Genesis

    Please restore the history of Altered Genesis under the redirect. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Altered Genesis was closed as "merge to Blood Red Throne".     Jay (talk · contribs), Altered Genesis was a redirect to Blood Red Throne. It was deleted under "G8: Redirect to a deleted or non-existent page" after Blood Red Throne was deleted. Altered Genesis later was created as a redirect to a different page, Bernt Moen. Regardless of the outcome of the deletion review, the reason for deleting Altered Genesis no longer applies.     I'll try to rephrase. The undeletion of Blood Red Throne is temporary to facilitate its DRV. Why should the page history of Altered Genesis be restored because the page history of Blood Red Throne has been temporarily restored? Why do you think the outcome of the deletion review is not relevant - If the DRV outcome endorses the deletion of Blood Red Throne, why do you think the page history of Altered Genesis should still stay? I am requesting the article's history be restored because the speedy deletion reason ("Redirect to a deleted or non-existent page") is no longer applicable.     Yes, the status of Altered Genesis as a redirect to Erlend Caspersen is not disputed. Altered Genesis as a redirect to Blood Red Throne necessitated keeping the page history because it was a merge-and-redirect. With Blood Red Throne gone, the earlier Altered Genesis had to go. Trying to understand your request, where you referenced the deletion review of Blood Red Throne, now you seem to be saying that any G8-deleted redirect with history is eligible to have its page history restored if it is recreated as a redirect to any target. As I haven't come across such a request before, I'll defer to other admins, or you can show me guideline or precedent for such history restoration.     Since there is another merge/redirect target, I disagree with the statement "With Blood Red Throne gone, the earlier Altered Genesis had to go." I consider the undeletion of a page deleted under a G8 reason that no longer applies to be uncontroversial. I've asked the deleting admin Explicit to undelete the history under the redirect.     If you are looking at a thorough review of the deletion discussion and decision, you should be listing your request at WP:Deletion review. But if you are here as per the closer Liz's close statement that said I'd be open to restoring this article to Draft space where you could continue to work on it or you could make a request at WP:REFUND and another admin can address your request., then this page can be restored as a WP:Draft, but will not be restored as an article for now.     Note however that the DRV will be limited to the discussion that took place, and the closer's interpretation of the discussion. See WP:DRVPURPOSE, and #3 is closest to, but not what you are looking for. My advice is to work on the draft and submit it for review via the WP:Articles for Creation process.     List of F-Zero characters

    It was subject to a deletion discussion, but only myself and one other person participated, so it would fall under "minimal participation". I personally think deletion was overly hasty and character reception could certainly be added for these characters from a long-running Nintendo series, even if none of them are necessarily notable on their own.     I don't think it's overly hasty to delete an article where three people are voting to delete - remember the nom counts - and not a single person even weakly argues to keep. Do you have any sourcing that meets WP:NLIST? ♠PMC♠ (talk) 09:45, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    It's technically two people, I was one of the delete voters and changed my mind about it after looking for more sources. One major example of how it passes WP:NLIST is this Nintendo Life article about the cast. HG101 has a paragraph describing the pilots (the reviews are basically retrospective and talk about the games in terms of the entire series to date, so it's not just a typical contemporaneous review). This article notes how the game's characters were ahead of its time and established the world, making F-Zero better than its competitors.     The fact that you've changed your mind now, well over three years later, doesn't retroactively make the original close overly hasty. I'm not convinced by the sourcing; the NL article is fine, but a single paragraph is hardly SIGCOV, and I simply don't see where the Kotaku article goes into any detail about the characters. There's a single sentence that says "Unlike the anonymous pilots in Outrun 2019 or Super Hang-On, these vehicles were driven by explicit characters: Captain Falcon of the Blue Falcon, Dr. Stewart, Pico and Samurai Goroh."     Wikipedia:SanFranBan

    It appears that this soft redirect was deleted at RfD in 2015, which is somehow eight years ago. The creator of the redirect did not do a great job at explaining why it is a valid redirect: it is a term for a WMF global ban (e.g. 1, 2; c.f. WP:CANSANFRANBANFRAM?), and its existence aligns with the general principle that one should be able to find the definition of Wikipedia jargon term by going to WP:[insert term here].

    The deleting admin has since passed away (RIP), so I have not attempted to contact them. Given it was deleted eight years ago in the pre-FRAMBAN world, I think this is eligible for a REFUND, but I would be happy to take this to DRV if anyone objects. —HouseBlastertalk 05:39, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While the DJ InstaMalik account is from 2021, I agree he started actively only 4 days back, and since voting on your AfDs has done for other AfDs too, and the votes are not all Delete. The deletion process was not handled properly because there was minimum participation of the editors and the reason I had provided for keeping the page wasn't considered at all.
