    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    • This has been restored on multiple occasions and was never edited. On one case the article was recreated by an editor on their own, however it was declined as being too promotional in tone. Before this is restored there needs to be some sort of promise made that this will be improved and a good faith attempt made to pass AfC if restored.     The article was originally deleted for the following reasons: This article was created several months ago as a user's first article, but has remained unreviewed. It describes a company going about its business in gaming industry software, but references to financial results and fastest-growing sector listings fall under trivial coverage at WP:CORPDEPTH. The firm was one of 12 in a Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Investment Promotion Agency list, but I am unconvinced that this or anything found in searches is sufficient to demonstrate attained notability so I am bringing it to AfD to seek a consensus position. I believe that the article should be restored for the following reasons: NSoft is the relevant company for Bosnia and Herzegovina's IT sector. It is one of the biggest IT companies in BiH employing nearly 300 people. The article wasn't written as a promo and I stayed neutral in creating the article although this was my first article and I was learning during the process. The company is one of the founder of Bit Alliance - an NGO with the mission to promote IT sector in BiH and representatives of NSoft are still in the Board of Directors of the oganization. The financial results and the acknowledgement such as Fast 50 CE and Fast 500 EMEA given by Deloitte prove its relevance and that was the reason why they are stated. I didnt include any refference that talks about uniqueness of NSoft organisation culture, trivia, software solutions as my intention wasn't to make a promo article in any case.     This file was deleted with explanation: non-free image of living person, fails WP:NFCC#1.

    I believe that this in not the case. WP:NFCC#1 states that a non-free image can be used if:

    1) Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose.

    Which I understand is indeed the case. I understand that the image does not fail that condition, but meets the condition. If somehow I am miss-understanding the above regulation, can I please request for a clarification and temporary undeletion to properly discuss. With a clarification, I may be able to address the matter correctly and comply with wikipedia processes that you may indicate.     @Graeme Bartlett: Can you please shed some light in this matter. The photo has been made available for free to wikipedia - as explicitly expressed by the copyright owner - in order for this photo to be used in related article. What was not possible to do is to avail the photo for creation of derivatives. Maybe the person portrait does not wish to see their face used in derivatives, which is well understandable. So, with this explanation, how does one go about to provide a photo on wikipedia for free but not for creation of derivatives. Thanking you in advance.     Since Wikipedia is a "free" encyclopedia we allow people to copy and make derivatives. The same applies to images. So although it might be legal to use a photo licensed for use only on Wikipedia, our policy says no, others must be able to do the same. The exception if the non-free image use. First is that the draft still has copyright violations in it and the second is that it's very promotional in tone.
