Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Batman (Terry McGinnis) into Batman. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:04, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hi there Atvica. I see you proposed merging Greater Middle East with other articles. Different options on how to deal with this article are currently discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greater Middle East. Feel free to join in.--Damianmx (talk) 19:23, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. Although I understand that your edits to this article were made in good faith, you failed to provide any reason for them in your edit summaries, and as such they just look like a case of "I think it's better this way". The article has been in its previous state for quite a while, so consensus is that it was fine the way it was. Please discuss the changes you want to make on the article talk page. Thank you. Jeh (talk) 22:04, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I thought wikipedia had a policy of 4 paragraphs maximum per article? Am I mistaken? --Atvica (talk) 06:31, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, very mistaken. Many articles have far more than four paragraphs. I hope you have not edited many other articles with that in mind. Jeh (talk) 07:55, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh... the lede is supposed to be no more than four paragraphs, but that's only a "general rule of thumb", and that in turn is part of a guideline, not policy. There is an important difference. See WP:LEDE, and note well the banner at the top regarding what a "guideline" is. There is certainly no need to change long-standing content for it.
And btw, if that was your purpose, you should have said so in the edit summaries. Please, always provide a meaningful edit summary. Jeh (talk) 08:23, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on U.S.Avengers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/comic-riffs/wp/2016/07/01/marvel-is-creating-an-america-themed-avengers-led-by-a-british-writer-and-a-brazilian-mutant/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. PamD 09:56, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wastewater navigation bar

I noticed you added biosolids to the title of subject template. I'm a bit curious as to what you have in mind, as the present focus is on liquid waste, and I'm not sure biosolids is an appropriate part of the title, or even a good fit, considering its typical solids content and texture. Perhaps a separate navigation bar template might be more appropriate for solid wastes? Thewellman (talk) 06:11, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The wastewater nav template was tagged on biosolids article, and since 2/3rds of whatever we flush down the toilet ends up in agriculture and industries, I added it as I figure they were "two sides of the same coin". Remember, always *WASH* and *COOK* your food! ^_^ --Atvica (talk) 06:54, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding categories

I noticed you created a new category, Category:Star Wars militaries. I'm not overly well-versed in categories and the ins and outs of them, but seeing as you've created some tenuous, and often unpopulated, categories in the past, I'm suggesting that, perhaps, in the future you should seek guidance from a relevant WikiProject, in this case WikiProject Star Wars, or a more experienced editor for guidance? It would probably prevent a lot of these categories from being sent to WP:CFD. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 02:46, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding fiction and tense

I noticed in some of your recent edits that you've described fictional events in past tense. Fictional events that occur during the timeline of the work should be described in present tense because such events occur in a "perpetual present" (I've seen it sometimes called "literary tense). For example, "Captain Rex is the commanding officer of the Torrent Company of the 501st Legion. Palpatine coaxes Anakin Skywalker to fall to the dark side, and Anakin leads the clone troopers in an assault against the Jedi Temple on Coruscant." Conversely, things that happen in the past in a fictional work can be described in the past tense: "Like all clone troopers, Commander Cody was born on Kamino, where he was trained to be an officer of the Grand Army of the Republic. Ahsoka was found on her home planet by Jedi Master Plo Koon, and Plo Koon took her to the Jedi Temple."

There's a little more information about it at WP:FICTENSE. It's just something to look out for. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 00:40, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Iryna Harpy. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Central Europe, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Please note that the verifiability policy mandates that unsourced material that has been challenged, such as by a "fact" tag, or by its removal, may not be added back without a reliable, published source being cited for the content, using an inline citation. Northern Europe (Sápmi)

Hi Atvica,

Thank you for your recent edit, which was constructive in nature. I am writing to inform you that I am reverting it and I wanted to provide a constructive explanation why.

Northern Europe is a very broad and vaguely defined territory that includes parts of Europe which are extremely distant from traditional Sami territories (aka Germany, England, Poland, Denmark, etc.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Europe

Arctic and Subarctic Europe is much more specific (and well-defined). With the exception of Iceland and the Faroe Islands, this term refers exclusively to continental European countries that encompass Sami territories. The traditional / historic range of Sami settlement is largely defined by geography and climate zone. By stating Arctic and Subarctic Europe(Sápmi), the title is referring to the geoclimatic zone that said Indigenous cultures have their territories within.

Further to this, due to the overlap between Western Europe and Northern Europe, using the term Arctic and Subarctic Europe helps clarify which regions are being discussed. There is much more overlap between the terms Western Europe and Northern Europe than there is between Eastern Europe and Western Europe, so it's best not to use both terms within the same article, as it can cause confusion. It is also helpful in differentiating between environmental racism on Sami territories and environmental racism on non-Sami territories within the rest of Northern Europe (for example, environmental racism and Romani people living in southern Sweden).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A1pmi

I should add, this term obviously isn't perfect, and could be subject to further change in future. One possibility would be to simply refer to the areas as "Sápmi," which I would actually love, but for political geographic reasons, I'm somewhat hesitant to exclusively use the Indigenous name. For the time being, I feel that my use of the term Arctic and Subarctic Europe is the simplest and clearest.

Hopefully this message helps clarify my rationale for using this term, and once again, I appreciate your interest in the article.

Sincerely, Sturgeontransformer (talk) 04:26, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional American people by status requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Equestria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page My Little Pony: The Movie (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). List of isekai anime and manga moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, List of isekai anime and manga, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. I see in a recent addition to List of Star Wars planets and moons you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Asia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Please do not pointlessly cite YouTube videos which promote video games as part of their content. Nick Moyes (talk) 20:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
