Lashkar Gah is a district in the east of Helmand Province, Afghanistan, surrounding the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah. Its population is 60% Pashtun and 20% Baluch, with smaller numbers of Uzbeks, Hindus and Hazara; the population was estimated at 85,800 in 2005. All the villages and the capital are along the Helmand River. The rest of the district is rolling desert.
