Qaramqol (Qaramqũl) district is located south of Andkhoy in the northern part of Faryab Province. The population is 17,100 (2009).[1] with an ethnic composition of 5% Pashtun, 35% Uzbek and 60% Turkman.[3] The district center Qaram Qũl is close to the town of Andkhoy.
