Thanks

[edit]

Ok, good idea. Can you also revert this guy? Thanks. —Khoikhoi 05:01, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I already reverted and cited 9 sources. BTW, is this message about me? I couldn't help but notice the word "Amerikalılar" in the paragraph. —Khoikhoi 08:55, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. Thanks! —Khoikhoi 00:56, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some style in edits

[edit]

Hi. I updated the Kokoreç article. Could you kindly check? By the way I read your nice article about Khash. I think we also have a similar dish, a soup called "Paça Çorbası". I also saw lahvash bread mentioned, we also call it "Lavaş", pronounced the same probably. Don't you have more culinary articles? It would be nice to read. Cheers. --Gokhan 11:06, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you're right as well, "tirit" seems more appropriate term for Khash dish then "çorba" :) I also found a dish called "Zırbaç" done with lamb feet as well. I'll check later. I appreciate your knowledge on these issues. How do you know so much? I didn't know Greeks also had similar dish to Kokoreç with a similar sounding name, thanks for the info. I think the whole region from Greece to Caspian Sea is a melting pot of cuisines. I would like to write some things on "Mumbar Dolması", I'm sure you already know. "Kaburga Dolması" is also very nice. Both from southeastern part. I also like liver dishes, "Arnavut Ciğeri" and "Edirne Ciğeri" are both worth to mention. Also dishes from lamb brain can be entered. I checked the articles you mentioned, they're also nice. I started to feel hungry already :) I think I can add things to animelles as well. Good evening --Gokhan 14:14, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. You mean "İrmik Helvası" right? It's one of my favourite dessert. In Kilis, southeast of Turkey, they do it I think with a special cheese, with makes it even tastier and better. --Gokhan 10:07, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I see you're making some edits on Adyghe. Do you have any ties? --Gokhan 06:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW...

[edit]

Have you seen this by any chance? —Khoikhoi 06:35, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, maybe you could talk to Saposcat about it. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from you. Hehehe, why did Mandela reject it? —Khoikhoi 17:51, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the following words of yours over at Khoikhoi's talk page: "I don't know that Saposcat guy. Why him? Is he a Mandela-loving Turkish nationalist?"

I do like the former ("love" would be too strong a word, though "admire" might be apt), and I do tend to despise the latter. I think Khoikhoi referred you to me simply because of my interest in Turkish issues, events, etc. —Saposcat 08:35, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. I was going to say Behemoth that Saposcat is the one who wrote Turkish literature to featured article status. —Khoikhoi 16:37, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, and I know aobut you-know-who, as I said to other people, remember to not feed the troll and you'll be fine. —Khoikhoi 16:40, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks ...

[edit]

Just writing to say thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it, and am glad you enjoyed the article. —Saposcat 08:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I saw that the MHP participated in the "last" Bulent Ecevit government. I assume that is true, would you add that in the article with the exact date (I assume its 1999-2002, but since i'm not sure i'd rather you add it). Regards, Tazmaniacs 14:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, unbelievable. Apparently someone else said the person is referring to the Greeks, not the Jews however. —Khoikhoi 01:29, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, as for the discussion at the CHP page, I personally wouldn't put up with that kind of crap. You should contact an admin, namely InShaneee to warn these guys about their personal attacks immediately. —Khoikhoi 05:05, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Man, that's ridiculous. Look how he reduced the Grey Wolves page from having 13 to 4 references. :P —Khoikhoi 03:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, cool. —Khoikhoi 23:33, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Önemli değil! —Khoikhoi 23:49, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Behemoth. I just wanted to say, good work on the Ottoman Turkish page: it looks a lot cleaner now, and is much more informative than it was. Well done. —Saposcat 08:44, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My new award

[edit]

LOL! This beats all of my barnstars by a mile! Thanks agian. ;) BTW, can you also tell Fadix? —Khoikhoi 23:33, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just say, "Hello Fadix. I just thought you might want to be informed about [www.google.com this]. It says "blah blah blah". Regards, [your name]. —Khoikhoi 23:37, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, I'm not sure that I care much about that, but ok... :p —Khoikhoi 23:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, my bad. It's one of those times that I wasn't aware that you were reverting so I kept adding it back. I think I resolved the issue, check again this time. —Khoikhoi 05:26, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I get it. Thanks. You ever been to Trabzon? —Khoikhoi 19:40, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bullfighting article

[edit]

I think I understand. I alone was practically responsible for the Lusitanic article that now looks almost nothing to what it did. Some improved but most edited and created a lot of illogical and ignorant hogwash to rationalize their personal agendas. I suppose we all have a tendency to do that but many don't seem to have the ability to monitor themselves or simply don't care. I have given up trying to ammend it. I know what it feels like to have people come in and stick their noses and hands with nothing constructive and objective especially when it's only after one or a select few are responsible for 99% of the article. It's very frustrating and it makes me angry. I guess your feeling may be similar. Like I had said, I don't disagree with most of your edits but it was most of the comments that got to me. However, I realize it came out of frustration and I can have a pretty loose tongue myself, so I get it. Regarding the horses section, I realized it was not written in a way that specifically explains the role of the Iberian horse in the bullfight and it is probably more appropriate for the actual Andalusian article that already exists and which needed expanding the last time I saw it. My intention was to just secure its place within the article as to bring attention to the fact that the horses do play a role and then as time permitted I would then modify the section appropriately to fit more adequately within the overall theme. I will respect your wish to not have the Iberian horse reinserted until a piece that better complements the better interest of the Bullfighting article is created. I have permission from bullfighting historian Mr. Dale Pierce to use his articles and any of his photos so I will contribute anything relevant and useful if you wish and if I find anything worthy of inclusion. Thanks. I'm glad we are past the misunderstanding.

Human-animal pornography

[edit]

Thanks for your additions to the section on this subject. It's one that wasn't well documented in the article, and you have done a lot to improve that with your edits today :)

I am drafting an article on that subject separately, draft is here, but I'm not that knowledgable nor is it a well documented subject. But it needs its own article. Would you be willing to help edit and develop that draft with me, and try to get it to the point it can be a decent draft article? Thanks! FT2 (Talk) 12:40, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trabzon et al.

[edit]

Yeah, I saw a user trying to sneak that in over at the Adana page. When I asked for a source the only thing is got is the Turkish government offical website! I recall a user who wanted to delete all the historical names from the Turkish city articles. I stopped him, so I guess that makes me a "Greek chauvinist". ;) Ciao. —Khoikhoi 16:16, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Plus I'm part of the conspiracy theory with Sedat Laciner! You know he a Wikipedia account? I've talked with him before, nice guy. ;) —Khoikhoi 16:30, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, he seemed like a nice guy. He mostly added links to his website. —Khoikhoi
Heh, have you seen User:FrancisTyers/Nationalist test? —Khoikhoi 16:56, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Selam Behemoth. I just talked with this user previously about this, but do you think that this should be re-added to the article? See Talk:People of Turkey. —Khoikhoi 02:28, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks! Perhaps you could help improve the article? BTW, have you ever heard of the Ubykhs and Tevfik Esenç? Interesting read. —Khoikhoi 02:58, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, well I'm aware that many Turks are divided about keeping traditional Islamic values, etc. Thanks for the quotes! :-) Would you be able to help contribute to Casualties of the Turkish-Kurdish conflict? It was originally titled PKK victims but has since been renamed a few times to it's current title. As it stands, it needs to have more dates on the timeline about Kurds who died, not people who were killed by Kurds (although both are important) Perhaps you could dig some stuff up. Thanks. —Khoikhoi 03:59, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Sorry for the long reply. Thanks for the info! I'll look into Uğur Kaymaz in particular. BTW, I just created 2 new pages:

And expanded one:

Perhaps you could check for errors and link them to other articles? Thanks. —Khoikhoi 04:23, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I added a section to Armenians in Turkey, could you check? --Gokhan 07:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kokoreç

[edit]

Hey, thanks for suggestions! I really want to learn these things more. I was planning to go to Bursa soon, it would be a nice excuse to make the trip! I mean one shouldn't just eat İskender there and come back right? BTW, as you nicely put, I am a gourmand, however I wish I could be a gourmet actually :) ! The thing is I'm just back to Turkey after years in the Netherlands. I need to settle down and get in the mood. Then I can start digging places and adding centimeters to my waistline... --Gokhan 07:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PKK issue

[edit]

Hi again, I agree with your point about village guards. However I also want to stress that PKK is actually do not hesitate to kill civilians and already did a lot. It is known that they're killing local Kurds as well, when they don't get the material support they ask for. They're also getting money from Kurdish businessmen, both in Turkey and Europe. When I was in the Netherlands, I learned that in some neighbourhoods of The Hague, you can't even open a store if you don't pay them.

I know there's a general sympathy for Kurdish cause in western world, thus in Wikipedia, and it's amazing to see the word games and effort spent on PKK related articles to sugar-coat this terrorist organization. The article even mentions as "militant" organization. You probably are reading Turkish newspapers. Last week there was an article about UK reporters, which visited PKK camps and saw 15-year old girls in combat uniforms. Yesterday a gang of PKK terrorists arrested and they were plotting to make a big explosion in Izmir Kordon. How can we really show these bloody aspects of PKK in Wikipedia, what do you say? How can we make these wikipedians see that cause and means are different things. --Gokhan 07:38, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portuguese bullfighting

[edit]

Hi.

Sorry for the late reply. Most of the revision you wanted me to look at ( [1] ) looks okay but this is what i have to say.

line 1: concerning the hats worn by the nazare fishermen also used in the forcado. i recall someone wanting proof that the hats are worn by the fishermen in Nazare and/or that they come from the Pheonicians. well, now it says the Ribatejo cowboys - this is true also, however i think the nazare fishermen and Nazare are more well known, not sure though. i guess it could say Ribatejo campinos and Nazare fishermen, but maybe it doesnt really matter.

http://nla.gov.au/nla.pic-an24848914 (Guy in Nazare sitting on top of the boat - in fact the boat itself is Pheonician style. also, bulls used to be used to drag the nets with fish)

http://mariusangol.no.sapo.pt/b-Ribatejo.gif

http://clientes.pluricanal.net/pls01394/images/Comprimidas-Capas/Ribatejo.JPG

http://www.photoshare.co.nz/PhotoShareGallery1/100255/100632/Nazarefishermen1359.jpg

on this page:

http://britam.org/now/507Now.html

i found this as a backup to my claim about the hats. here is a part:

Along the coast there are the famous costumes of the fishermen as in Nazare, with the long, black knit cap dating from the Phoenician fishermen and the plaid wool shirts and pantaloons that are the proud badge of one of the last remaining totally masculine professions. There is the design of the fishing boats of Aveiro and Nazare, with the long, upswept and pointed prows and the occasional mystic eyeball painted on the side, to protect the fisherman from who knows what unseen powers...in ancient times the Phoenicians used to ply the [Portuguese] coast. The fishermen of Nazare and Aveiro are traditionally of Phoenician descent. This can be seen today in the unusual and ancient design of their boats-soaring pointed bows with mystical symbols painted on…" <19>

this page:

http://www.travelnet.co.il/PORTUGAL/09-Bullfight.htm

also talks about the portuguese bullfight. one part says:

The men are dressed in a traditional costume, of damask or velvet, with the hats descended from the Phoenician fishermen. These are the long knit ones also worn by the famous Nazaré fishermen.

line 8: Im neither here nor there with this change. it could have been remained stated as it was previously that the corrida in Portugal is called Feira do Toiro or Feira do Touro (The Bull Fair) but whatever, no big deal.

line 88: the adjective bloodless was removed. perhaps rightly so but the question needs to be asked, what does it mean by The Portuguese now practice... Portuguese in Portugal or portuguese in general? i assume its the first. however, in California, USA and Canada, i believe, the Portuguese style is practised but because of laws it differs and it is indeed called bloodless bullfighting. maybe the change is adequate but bullfighting as is done in Portugal i believe is also referred to at times as "bloodless" but that may be because it is relatively bloodless compared to the past. sometimes it is bloodless and velcro is used as the points to stick to a type of vest of velcro. maybe it should say bullfighting and bloodless bullfighting although that may not be necessary since "bloodless bullfighting" is still "bullfighting". i guess its okay.

however further down the fight is accordingly referred to as a "bloodless bullfight" was removed and i think the removal was unnecessary. the statement is accurate since it is indeed bloodless in the ring. More often than not, many bulls are entered into other events, such as rodeos in California, or was also removed. it could be that the editor wants everyone to know that the bloodless fights are not so bloodless and that the bulls are often killed. maybe the editor is biased, i dont know, but maybe it should say, Bulls that give an exceptional performance or that have not been too severely injured, are recuperated, released to pasture until their end days, used for breeding or may even return to the bullring for other events, such as rodeos in California"

'severed was changed to covered, actually it is usually both, severed horn tips followed by covering to further aid in preventing injury.

the next addition is correct:

Nevertheless, bullfights with matadores are also frequent, notably with Portuguese matadores who practice their trade in Spain and who, when in Portugal, replace the sword in their final strike with a "bandarilha." Examples of famous Portuguese matadores are Vítor Mendes and Pedrito de Portugal.

line 113: the part about "cavaleiras" is true.

the following was unnecessarily removed, Spanish and Portuguese bullfighting communities often even criticize each other. The Spanish sentiment is basically that the Portuguese tradition lacks nobility and denies the bull its honor while the Portuguese sentiment is basically that the Spanish tradition denies the bull its honor and is pompous and arrogant.

there is indeed rivalry in bullfighting between portuguese and spaniards criticizing eachother just the same as they trash talk about a lot of other stuff. of course its not everyone, but it exists of enough people so it is worth the mention. if the editor thinks this is not true he/she is in denial. the article can live without it just as the article could live without several other small chunks but then it would lose its richness. i think it has its place and is appropriate. it should go back.

line 126: ... it is widely reviled outside Spain as a gratuitously cruel blood sport was changed. i think the change is appropriate. the way it was implies that all Spaniards do not hate bullfights, which is not true.

line 173: ... the subcategories under Portuguese Bullfighters was unnecessary, but whatever.

... Be well.

PS... When i have more time ill try to find some decent links about portuguese bullfighting for you. I understand only a little French and no German so i couldnt say if they were good if i found them. ill try to find English then which works best for the both of us.

Question

[edit]

Selam Behemoth! :)

Would you be able to help me find a source for this claim? Some users dispute it... Thanks. —Khoikhoi 05:46, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I told you that I had a nice conversation with Sedat, right? I believe it's mostly criticised by Armenians. :p —Khoikhoi 00:40, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

a typo or not?

[edit]

Hi! In the article The Protocols of the Elders of Zion you have changed the year 1934 to 1943. Wasn't it a typo? --Yms 14:24, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hamshenis

[edit]

I'm not exactly sure what instrument the Northern Hamshenis perfer. According to Bert Vaux, they openly identify themselves as Armenians, so perhaps they use the same instruments as mainstream Armenians. I'm sure you've seen this: Music of Armenia. -- Clevelander 01:14, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: duduk. Exactly. I erased the italics for "Hemşince" because I wasn't exactly sure why it was italicized. -- Clevelander 01:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I understand now. Thanks for claifying. I shall now re-italicize the text. -- Clevelander 01:28, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bloodless Bullfighting

[edit]

hey Behemoth

for your interest Webmistress Diva has created the Bloodless Bullfighting article. she has also had some things to say on my TALK page. it looks like this portuguese bullfighting business just may get straightened out.

be well

Lusitano Transmontano 18:38, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Guess what?

[edit]

I finally created a Laz people article (stub). Can you help expand it? Ciao. :) —Khoikhoi 21:52, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? Look how long the Turkish article is. —Khoikhoi 21:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ooops. :( I'll redirect it. —Khoikhoi 22:02, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I think I'll let it stay for now. There was a link at the Laz page linked to the people article for years. —Khoikhoi 22:03, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe, it appears that you got reverted right afterwards! It's probably User:Levzur, aka Dr. Levan Z. Urushadze, "Georgian historian". Don't worry, I just reverted back and fixed the numbers in the infobox, that's probably what he was worried about. —Khoikhoi 22:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He's definately an irredentist. Fortunately, he doesn't talk much, so his edits can be considered vandalism if he doesn't explain himself. :) —Khoikhoi 22:28, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. —Khoikhoi 22:33, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, I actually think he would. :p Then he would start to insult me saying, "please, read more books about Georgia and visit this country!" (See Talk:Georgian people) —Khoikhoi 22:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, my personal favorite is this website, especially this page of it. "The four get along. From left to right: Moldavian, Ukrainian, Russian, Jewish. Born after independence in 1990, all four are Pridnestrovians." :D —Khoikhoi 22:50, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hehehe, the one that struck me was the picture of the two churchs right next to each other. BTW, have you seen this? Look under Turkey. —Khoikhoi 22:57, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know, some of them were just plain stupid. If you look at the history of the page a lot of anons visit it, so I'm guessing some are vandals. —Khoikhoi 23:04, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LOL. You're welcome to remove stuff if you want. —Khoikhoi 23:16, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more accurate with the ethnic stereotypes, one person's light joke maybe another person's grave ethnic insult. Your edits on User_talk:Khoikhoi#Laz_people maybe seen that way by somebody. abakharev 04:36, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ed Wood? You are one interesting guy, I recently say Marooned in Iraq. (very sad) —Khoikhoi 18:12, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A gang? What, were you part of the crips? Very interesting life! Would you be able to enable your email? —Khoikhoi 19:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lazistan

[edit]

Hey, I added this map to the Lazistan article that I found on the Wikimedia Commons. It's in German, but I still think it's ok. What do you think? Oh, btw, I think I hopefully resolved the Machakheli-Machakhel conflict by moving this page to Machakhel(i). —Khoikhoi 03:11, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Man, I had a compromise between both parties and you messed it up! :p Oh well, I just wanted something to stop the edit war. Perhaps you could talk to Macahel personally (in Turkish) on the issue. Anyways, there's another issue that I wanted to talk to you about. An anon removed this from the Trabzon article, with this explanation on the talk page. Could you please fix up the paragraph with sources? It originally said "Pontian Muslims". Adios! —Khoikhoi 08:01, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Macahel

[edit]

He left two comments (uno y dos) that you might want to reply to on his talk page. Ciao! —Khoikhoi 21:09, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, oh well. Adios. —Khoikhoi 21:36, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gloria Guida

[edit]

Ciao! Thanks for your addition to Gloria Guida (do you like the picture?), but remember to put titles of movies and novels in italics. Bye and good work. --Attilios 14:58, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just checked the Lilli Carati article. It looks informative, but all these info about movies should better stay in devoted articles; Carati's entry should have only information connected to her work. Also changed what I consider an error typical only of Anglo-Saxon writers, the use of (two) (parenthesis) phares consecutively. I also changed the format of translation of titles: I put titles which are simply translation between the "...", while when the title was that of the English adaptation I tried to put it in italics. But maybe I mistook some.... Let me know your opinion and good work!! --Attilios 22:42, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turkey

[edit]

Hey Behemoth, when you have the time, could you check out the discussion here? Sorry for assuming you don't have anything better to do. :( —Khoikhoi 20:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. No, lol, I haven't! Have you seen Yol? —Khoikhoi 23:07, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahaha. Actually, I prefer movies with happy endings. ;) Nothing like watching a couple getting shot because they did something "indecent". Speaking of Güney, there appears to be two users getting into a minor edit war on his article, there's this version and this one. Know which one is correct? —Khoikhoi 23:23, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, thanks again. You're making me smart now. I used my userpage as a temporary sandbox to see something. Now it's restored. —Khoikhoi 23:45, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, but it appears from the article that he directed the movie he stared in! —Khoikhoi 23:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, aside from movies, have you heard of the Adana massacre? Do you think the article should keep the tag? —Khoikhoi 23:54, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah yeah, I guess he is an important guy. :p The tag for the article was added when it was first written, I think the article is a lot better now, so I've removed the tag. If there are sources, they can be added, but there hasn't been anything on the talk page for months. BTW, I'm pretty sure our buddy Sedat is editing under the username David Falcon (talk · contribs). He seems to have an issue with Armenians. ;) —Khoikhoi 00:08, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, I see it now. Yeah, after what happend with Ruzgar (who recently got blocked for 3 months, lol) I didn't want to see a {{npa}} on your talk page again! —Khoikhoi 00:20, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I guess you would know more what it's like if you come here. Yeah, it was funny, reminds me of Orhan Pamuk. I gotta eat some dinner now. Ciao. —Khoikhoi 00:28, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hi there

[edit]

Hi!

I was quite busy and couldn't visit Wikipedia too much. Also sometime I have to put a break because it makes me depressed :) My wife was about to ban me... seriously. If she were to be an IT gal, then she would probably hack my account as well.

Anyway I'm back but I have another international & long stay coming up. My stay in Istanbul was a bit short. Actually I'm not a post-Özal youth living at western countries (!) but I will be in France for business education.

About the political party in NL, I didn't know about them until you told me. I left the country in February but no idea. I think you're scary, knowing all those things. Joke aside, I wasn't too much into politics there, as I didn't have the right to vote or plans to settle down for good.

Before I leave Istanbul I want to do some more articles on food, maybe take some pictures myself because I had enough of this Copyright thing.

I was also planning to do a visit to Circassia region with my mother but again, no luck in timing.

I'll keep an eye on you in Wikipedia and hope to share some more info working on articles. Have a nice summer! --Gokhan 13:13, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, yes you're right, I sometimes enjoy adding things to user talk pages more than to actual articles! Normally that should be the other way around right? I appreciate your knowledge on things and your position on many difficult political issues. Keep up the good work. I just want to say that although I like writing comments on things related to Turkey, I'm not a hardcore nationalist or against Armenians or Kurds or Greeks etc. I just want to live in peace and left in peace. But surely I know my share of history and I know how people and nations were manipulated in the past. So I try to defend some of the things I believe in, and off course while doing that I also see some of my own prejudices from upbringing or false info - and try to work on them... Anyway, always good to talk to you. See you around! --Gokhan 07:02, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

no mention of pkk in erdal article?

[edit]

Hello,

I started the Erdal article when she disappeared in our country. I thank you for your work on that page. However, your latest edit also removed the comment that despite her current background, she has never been accused of being a member of pkk, nor has she claimed it.

Isn't this relevant? I mean it might get confusing with her kurdish background. You would be surprised what kind of wrong ideas people can have, I know Belgians who think she is actually a muslim fundamentalist, and who are surprised when they see Turkey wants her imprisonment more than anyone else.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Castings7 Anita b.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Castings7 Anita b.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image deletion warning Image:Kurdistana Sor.jpeg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.

karayalcin

[edit]

We need sources that he is Hamsheni. This is not reliable, even if it was, it would be WP:OR to claim that Karayalçın was Hamsheni from that info. We can say that he is from a Hamsheni village, if we can find reliable sources indicating that he is from a Hamsheni village. denizTC 21:44, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Selam!

[edit]

I don't know Turkish very well, but do these work?

  • Mayıs 2002'de SHP adında yeni bir partı kuran karayalçin kürtçü DTP adlı partı ile ittifak yapıp seçimlere girip Atatürk cumhuriyetinin düşmanı bu partiyle ittifak yapması seçimlere girmesi Hemşinlilerin nefretini çekmiş ülkelerine son derece bağlı hemşinlileri derece yaralamıştır sol adına hareket ettiğini söyleyen M:Karayalçın bölücü kürt miliyetçiliğine hizmet ettmiştir. [2]
  • Fırtına çayı ile kollarının buluştuğu havzaya Hemşin denilmektedir .Kaçkar (3972) ,Tatos (3560) ,ve Verneçik (3711m) dağları yer almaktadır .Hemşinliler Laz , Pontos ,Gürcü yada Türk değil deniliyor .Kıyılarda yaşayan Lazlarla hiç geçinememişler hatta dönem dönem çatışmışlar .Ancak günümüzde Çamlıhemşin yada Ayder gibi yıldızı parlayan turizm merkezlerinde Laz’lar tek tük yerleşip iş kurabiliyorlar .Hemşinin geleneksel müzik alet tulum .Tevfik Rüstü Aras ve Murat Karayalçın Hemşinliler .Hemşin kadınları hemşin başı denilen bir çeşit geleneksel başörtüsü taktıklarındanizli kadınlardan kolayca ayrılıyorlar [3]

Although you are probably right, he does have a point. Saying "since source A says he is from Şenyuva, and source B says Şenyuva is predominately a Hamsheni village, he must be Hamsheni" violates WP:SYN. I think it's best to assume good faith, although I can get frustrated with some users as well, I usually don't jump to the conclusion that they're just here to destroy Wikipedia. I may disagree with someone's views, but I'm not going to consider them to be a vandal. Anyways, enough lecturing from me—hope you're doing well. :-) Ciao! Khoikhoi 06:08, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First one won't work, any leftist person in a town dominated by leftists (at least if s/he thinks so) could say that, though it increases the likelihood that karayalcin is hemsinli. Anyway it's not reliable, as it is a blog site. Second one establishes that Karayalcin is hemsinli. But it might be just like Istanbullu, Istanbulite. Hamsheni seems to me like an ethnic term. Second source is also not reliable I think. We can say this: "He was born in Camlihemsin. Camlihemsin is a Hamsheni town." and let the reader his/her own conclusions. denizTC 07:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Khoikhoi 05:01, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, what does that translate to? Khoikhoi 20:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I have a few more comments if you don't mind.
  1. I saw this, but I thought Samast was from Düzköy, not Trabzon city.
  2. Parishan has expanded the Karapapak article, and it looks a lot better now. What do you think?
  3. Have you seen this and this? Incredible.
Khoikhoi 19:52, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So he is from Trabzon city but his father is from Düzköy? It isn't very clear if they're talking about the province or the city in this page. Anyways, thanks for fixing the article. I just noticed this article. "South Kipchakya" isn't even a term used in English, and the article uses controversial sources such as Fahrettin Kırzıoğlu. What would you do if you in this situation? Oh, and don't forget... Ciao! Khoikhoi 02:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But of course that doesn't stop people voting "keep" en masse without any explanation. I'm going to add a {{prod}} template to the English article eventually. Yes, I've heard of Zeyrek from Kober and Macahel, the latter of which was an ardent supporter of the man, he's probably the same Macahel on the Turkish Wikipedia. Someone might consider adding all this to the Historical revisionism (negationism) article as well. So he's also claiming that Hungarians are Turks? Sheesh. Fair use rationale for Image:Castings7_Anita_b.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Castings7_Anita_b.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. DTP=PKK

[edit]

Well, there you go: you might want to read the report by the European Union Institute for Security Studies [5]. I quote "It is an obvious secret that DTP is connected to PKK in a way and PKK is a terrorist group." Happy? I am sorry if I am being harsh, but trying to portray terrorists as flowering spraying social democrats is disgusting, if you don't mind me saying. cheers Baristarim 09:08, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do NOT remove references info, it is disruptive and can be considered as vandalism. It's self-identification is irrelevant, and it only has associate and observer status in those organizations - which are mentioned by the way. You reverted all my additions blindly, which is nothing but disruption by the way. If you want to discuss improvements to the article, then use the talk page.
Observer status within a body cannot be used as a source to support another claim - that's OR. Associate membership can only be used to support just that, that it is an associate member to X - not what it "is". Read WP:OR for more information on how Wikipedia works please. Thanks Baristarim 01:34, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just would like to point out that such points should be discussed in the talk page of the article, which was empty until I posted a comment yesterday. That's not constructive dialogue. Your points about Yalçinkaya do not make sense, and doesn't disprove the nationalist characterization. You very well know that what is important for Wikipedia is not how the subject matter of the article defines itself, but how it is referred to in the English language and academic world. Claims should also be attributed, by the way, and sources shouldn't be removed. "it is just a stupid think tank" comment doesn't make sense at all. cheers Baristarim 02:26, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated Lenka Horáková, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lenka Horáková and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:29, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Şahin K

[edit]

An editor has nominated Şahin K, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Şahin K and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 14:29, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Emina Jahovic.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bem dotado.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bem dotado.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pee Drinking Sow Ruined

[edit]

Hi, Behemoth. I've been pondering on how to translate Maria Ozawa's title "落ちぶれた飲尿メス豚アイドル" for a couple weeks now. It's a tough one, isn't it? Your translation is pretty good, but it leaves out the "Idol" bit... I was thinking more like "An Idol who has fallen [to the level of] a pee-drinking sow"... Still not right though... It's an interesting translation problem anyway. We should nominate it for a college Japanese language course. :-) Happy editing! Dekkappai (talk) 17:17, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, better... still not quite it though... I suppose it's just one of those things untranslatable into English... Cheers! 16:02, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi again, Behemoth. In researching Rin Aoki for another project, I came across the same title-- 落ちぶれた飲尿メス豚アイドル-- apparently it's a series. Anyway, you can see the Urabon Navigator translates it as: "Fallen Urine-Drinking Pig Idol"... which is probably closer than ours, and, at least, sourceable to another translator. Unless you object, I'll change it to that. Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 00:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Karayalcin.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 20:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Johnny Wakelin - Double Trouble.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Johnny Wakelin - Double Trouble.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Proposed deletion of Anita Blond

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Anita Blond, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No reliable sources. No Assertion of WP:Notability. Fails WP:PORNBIO.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I thought it wasn't relevant. Indeed he wasnt'converted. What do you think about? --Locaracle (talk) 11:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. There is this ban (but I don't know in the liberal Turkey - what do you think about?), but I've never heard nothing abiut this conversion. In Italian language there's almost nothing about this marriage. Something more in Turkish. I think we have to take Licursi's declaration as good. Licursi had been in PDCI's electoral list in Rome, but just one time and in secondarian position. I don't know if this is relevant about Rabia kazan. I'm a friend of her, but we aren't in touch in this period. And I think it's not good asking to her informations. --Locaracle (talk) 10:36, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well! The note you reported helps us in understanding! If I haven't misundertood, Licursi said he converted himself. But it's probable tht he converted again later. The note helps us in removing the advice about sources, too. Do you agree? I suppose that this will help us, too: http://www.kitapyurdu.com/kitap/default.asp?id=120991 What do you think? --Locaracle (talk) 10:07, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect! Thank you so much for your help. I'm very poor in Turkish and so I didn't see the negation. Thank you again. I'm a friend of Rabia and not oh her husband. I had interested myself in her book and work when I saw an interview on an Italian channel. So I contacted her and we talked a lot about Islam, Iran, etc. I'm studying Islam at Uni and so I'm very interested in.

If you can understand Italian language, you can read an interview Rabia released to me: http://www.rivistaonline.com/Rivista/ArticoliPrimoPiano.aspx?id=5673 If you can't read it, I can provide a translation to you, if you want. So, are you expert about Turkey and Turkish language? --Locaracle (talk) 08:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Patricia Rhomberg

[edit]

Hello,
a few days ago I was noticed about this article being a possible copyright violation of this biography, and if it was, our article at it.wiki, which was translated from this one, would be deleted. I did further research and Archive.org shows that the page certainly exists since June 2007, but it might have been created earlier. What confuses me the most is that their text is much more similar to yours than the version that appeared in 2007. Could you please help me understand more about this matter? As I don't think you copied the text - it was a typical wikipedia style; I don't think that any other website, especially a fansite, would begin a biography with "Patricia Rhomberg was an Austrian actress" and have that matter-of-fact tone - it would be easier for me to solve the issue if you could explain me what happened; I'm sure that a long-time user like you will understand the importance of the matter. Best regards, --Austroungarika scold or call 11:34, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your clear and prompt reply (and I apologize for my own grammar mistakes in the previous message- I've corrected the shameful ones, if you don't mind). Best wishes, --Austroungarika scold or call 14:43, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Queen_of_Spades.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Queen_of_Spades.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 05:29, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eITUqy7vj4) The names are same, but the plots are totaly different. Please do not confuse them. Kavas (talk) 16:25, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Top2.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Top2.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:05, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Contes.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Contes.jpg.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.

Wait, you have been here since 2005, but you say you "cannot assign good faith" to my edit to the effect that guresdosyasi.com does not qualify as WP:RS? Then I am afraid that I "cannot assign high relevance" to your opinion regarding encyclopedicity. I do not dispute at all that Karakucak is a valid topic. I was just stating that so far, nobody has written an encyclopedic article about it on en-wiki. --dab (𒁳) 08:48, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Emina Jahovic.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:06, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Edson Cardoso. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Edson Cardoso has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Glock17gen4 does not understand the difference between Nationality and Ethnicity/Heritage. His only evidence is one picture that Cung Le has already posted on his twitter he knew nothing about. Glock17gen4 is clearly trolling and vandalizing. I have provided significant evidence including pictures, bios, and quotes where Cung Le himself recognizes both his American Nationality and his South Vietnamese heritage. The article Lan (subculture) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as unsourced for over four years; no indication of meeting WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Replaceable fair use File:Marked Ama film poster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Marked Ama film poster.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:45, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:German Wing Chun practitioners requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
