Miss World 2019, will be the 69th edition of the Miss World, it will be held on December 14, 2019 at the ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom.[1] Vanessa Ponce of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Background

The official announcement was made on February 19, 2019, in Bangkok, with the presence of Miss World President Julia Morley and Tanawat Wansom, Chief Executive Officer of TW Pageants. Mr. Wansom along with chief guest Ashwani Kumar Rai announced a mid-December planned date for the contest with the final venue yet to be announced officially.[2]

Later, on July 2, 2019, Julia Morley and Vanessa Ponce, the reigning Miss World, appeared on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan. Morley officially announced that the pageant will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at ExCeL London, explaining that Thailand will be the location of Miss World 2020 in order to celebrate Miss World’s 70th anniversary. At Miss World 2019, contestants will arrive in London on 20 November, the opening ceremony will be held in London, each contestant will then compete in a series of fast track events, taking them on a journey across some of the London’s most iconic landmarks taking in its rich culture and heritage.[3]
