Khajuraho Civil Aerodrome (IATA: HJR, ICAO: VEKO) is an airport in Khajuraho, Chhatarpur District, Madhya Pradesh, India. The terminal is 3 km south of Khajuraho Town, 4 km from Khajuraho Railway Station and 40 km from the district centre at Chhatarpur.

Incidents

On 13 April 2015, a major accident was averted at Khajuraho airport when a Jet Airways plane carrying 59 passengers and 8 crew members developed some technical problems while landing and it had to be evacuated at runway. There were no movements at the airport for the following two days. Sources said that flight 9W2423 that was coming from Varanasi, developed some technical problems with the hydraulic systems and had to be stopped at the runway. Emergency doors were opened and passengers were evacuated safely.
