Divisions Scope and goals

This project aims to foster the production, improvement and coordination of articles related to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region — its geography, history, culture, languages, politics, and so on. It intends to expand Wikipedia's resources on the subject in a fair and accurate manner and to act as a locus where controversies can be aired and hopefully resolved.

The goals defined for the WikiProject are:

  • To improve all Mumbai-related articles
  • To ensure its information is accurate and up to date
  • To expand existing Mumbai stubs

The territorial boundaries of this project are limited to,

These are the line of actions defined for the Wkiproject

  1. Neighbourhoods. This is by far the largest category of articles. Standardise the sections. We may need the help of a bot.
  2. Photographs: as many as we can. Categorise into high, medium and low priority.
  3. Path to Featured articles: History of Mumbai, Geography of Mumbai, Climate of Mumbai. These are the easy ones. We can also get other articles featured.
  4. Expand Mumbai-related articles especially history and geography. Source from newspapers.
  5. Expand Mumbai-based organizations.
  6. High quality SVG maps needed: Police zones, BMC wards, topography, talukas, Lok Sabha constituencies, Vidhan Sabha constituencies, BMC civic election constituencies
  7. Expand articles on parks, prominent malls, tourist spots etc
  8. Panoramic images of the city needed.
  9. Demographic statistics needed
  10. Economy of Mumbai needs additional references
