Controversy

The E52 suffers from several software problems. Known common problems include:

  • the phone dies and needs to be taken to Nokia Repair Centres to be revived.
  • the phone crashes when copy/pasting large images, with the RAM in use being locked up until the phone software is re-installed.
  • Voice Call Problem, it gets cut when you are in a noisy area and the person you are calling could not hear you.
  • Some brand new handset have display problems. Screens flicker like a monitor with a bad refresh rate when using a darker theme.
  • IMAP IDLE push mail does not work, although it used to work on previous Nokia Symbian phones.[4][5][6]

Some of these problems, however, are fixed in an updated firmware version.
