The process for designating articles as 'good' is simpler than that for featured articles. Disagreements can be resolved on the [[Wikipedia:Good article review|review]] page, which [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles|WikiProject good articles]] helps to maintain.

Good articles in Wikipedia

Currently,
  1. redirect Template:FA number of a total of 6,899,206 Wikipedia articles (about 1 in Expression error: Unexpected < operator) are featured articles, which have been thoroughly reviewed and designated as the very best of Wikipedia. There are also many articles containing excellent content, but which have not yet reached the featured article standard or are unlikely to reach this high standard soon due to a variety of reasons; however, providing an article meets certain quality standards and has passed through the good article nomination process, it may be listed as a good article, which is equivalent to grade GA of the Wikipedia article grading scheme.

Currently, 2,159 (about 1 in 3,195) articles are listed below, which meet the good article criteria: in short, they should be well written, stable, accurate, referenced, have a neutral point of view, and show relevant illustrations with an appropriate copyright. Good articles may not be as thorough and detailed as our featured articles, but they should not omit any major facets of the topic (compare good articles v. featured articles here).

The process for designating articles as 'good' is simpler than that for featured articles. If you find or write an article meeting the criteria, you can nominate it by adding it to the candidates page for an impartial reviewer to assess and, if it is accepted, it will be added to the list of good articles. Articles are removed if promoted to featured status or delisted for not meeting the criteria; any editor can do this by following the delisting instructions. If an article's nomination fails or it is delisted, an explanation and possible improvements should be suggested on its talk page by the reviewer. Disagreements can be resolved on the review page, which WikiProject good articles helps to maintain.
