Brace Bridge railway station is a Kolkata Suburban Railway Station on the Sealdah–Budge Budge line with an approximate 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) distance from Sealdah railway station. It is under the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway zone. Brace Bridge railway station is one of the busiest railway stations of Sealdah railway division. More than 45 pairs of E.M.U. Local Trains ply through the railway station on a daily basis. It is situated in Kolkata in the Indian State of West Bengal. Brace Bridge railway station serves Brace Bridge and the surrounding areas.[1][2]

Brace Bridge railway station is located at 22°31′03″N 88°18′07″E / 22.5174°N 88.3020°E / 22.5174; 88.3020. It has an average elevation of 9 metres (30 ft).

History

In 1890; 134 years ago (1890), the Eastern Bengal Railway constructed a 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) wide Broad Gauge Railway from Sealdah to Brace Bridge.

Electrification

Electrification of the Sealdah–Brace Bridge line was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.
