SVKM's NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies), is a deemed university located in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

It is a multi-disciplinary University with campuses at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Shirpur, having 12 constituent schools that include Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Commerce, Business, Economics, Science, Law, Aviation, Liberal Arts, Music, Design & Distance Learning.

History[edit]

NMIMS was established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal with the help of a donation from Narsee Monjee Educational Trust as a Management Institute affiliated to University of Mumbai. NMIMS began its journey by offering a Masters in Management Studies with an intake of only 40 students and 4 full time faculty.
It became a deemed university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by notification of UGC in 2003.[8]

The Shirpur Campus was established in 2007 and is the first off-campus centre of SVKM's NMIMS.[9][10]. The schools in Shirpur Campus include:

The Bengaluru Campus was established in 2008.[11][12] Bangalore campus of NMIMS is the youngest B-School to be accredited with AMBA.[13][14] The schools in Bengaluru Campus include:

The Campuses were established in 2017 and are the newest campuses to be established. They are AICTE approved campuses of NMIMS (Deemed-to-be University).[15] The schools include:

NMIMS was ranked 20 among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2019, [22] 57 among universities[23] and 83 overall.[24] NIRF also ranked it 13th in India in the pharmacy ranking.[25]

It was ranked 12th by Business Today's "India's best B-schools 2018"[19] and eighth in India by Outlook India's "Top 100 Management Schools" of 2018.[20]
