Of these countries, China is the fastest growing country in terms of skyscrapers with respect to other countries in the world; six skyscrapers from worlds 10 tallest buildings are located in China. On the other side, Middle East has seen a skyscraper boom in recent years with many supertall skyscrapers currently proposed and approved and few of them exceed 800 m (2,625 ft) and 1,000 m (3,281 ft) barrier. Burj Khalifa, which is one of them, in Dubai, UAE is the record-breaking skyscraper. In terms of cities, Dubai is ahead of any other city in Asia; by 2014 it will be a home to six supertall skyscrapers with more than 100 floors. Currently, there are 56 skyscrapers which are taller than 200 m (656 ft) which more than those of Hong Kong and New York City where both have 54 and 52 skyscrapers taller than 200 m (656 ft) respectively. But by 2015 there will be more than 80 skyscrapers in Dubai taller than 200 m (656 ft). Tallest Asian skyscrapers by pinnacle height
Some skyscraper enthusiasts prefer this measurement, claiming that the extensions that can or cannot be deemed "architectural" are subjective. However, many non-architectural extensions (such as radio antennas) are easily added and removed from tall buildings without significantly changing the style and design of the building, which is seen as a significant part of the value of these buildings. Also, measurement (to the top of the highest architectural detail) has been the one traditionally used for decades for this and other reasons; the pinnacle category has only recently come into use, starting during the construction of the Petronas Towers.
This measure is the value listed in lists of air traffic obstacles and similar lists.
