DYK for South Tibetan Detachment[edit]

 — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:03, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Douglas Saunders has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Patchy1 03:42, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Could you please be more careful when approving articles for DYK? I don't know if it is only a problem with the contributions of LauraHale, or a more general one, but you have approved a number of articles which were not fir for the main page at all.

Today, I have pulled Template:Did you know nominations/Gibraltar Falls from the queue for some serious sourcing and padding issues. I then noted that you recently approved some other articles by LauraHale as well, including e.g. Women's football in Africa, which is a very poor article, badly written. E.g. "During the late 1970s, the national football federation started to set up women's league across the country" is a nice sentence, but which country? This omission renders it meaningless.

"While women were not always playing the game, they supported Footballs development by the 1920s women took on support roles that freed up time and resources which allowed men to actively participate" needs some work to become intelligible. " In South Africa in the 1960s, women several tried to create women's football clubs including Jessie Maseko who tried to create a girls high school football club in 1962." Women several tried?

Mother City Girls is described as a high school team, but the source[1] doesn't mention any link to a high school.

"In Africa, this was true with for many countries including Burundi and Madagascar with their senior national sides having yet to play a FIFA sanctioned match" Um, what? Even after deciphering what is meant, what makes Burundi and Madagascar so special that they deserve a separate mention, and e.g. Togo doesn't?

Why do you let such articles grace the Main Page? DYKs don't need to be exhaustive and they don't need to be flawless, but they do need to be intelligible, basically correct, and give the impression of giving a minimal overview of the topic. Why are there e.g. no mentions of the appearances and results at the FIFA Women's World Cup, where African teams have been present from the first edition on? Or no informantion on the African Women's Championship?[2]. It's hard to take an article on "Women's football in Africa" serious when it doesn't even mention this Championship... Fram (talk) 14:32, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum: and of course, what is the hook for Women's football in Africa about? "that by the 1960s female leaders of women's football in Africa began to emerge?" This refers to the local school girls in South Africa who tried with little or no success to start a local team, only to fade back into obscurity? How are they "leaders of women's football in Africa"? Fram (talk) 15:04, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems from looking a bit further that you were only the messenger on this one, i.e. you delivered the DYK message to her talk page, but didn't actually review or post the DYK. This means that my comments are rather misdirected here. I'll repost them at Wikipedia talk:Did you know instead, you may disregard them (at least you shouldn't take them personally!). Fram (talk) 15:11, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well my extra check is that the hooks make enough sense, and are not controversial, taht the prep area has been there for enough hours to get some polishing work done, and that the pictures are free to use. You do seem to be setting a higher standard for the DYKs than the rules, particularly in regards to information missing from the article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 19:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Did you know nominations/Andy Bor[edit]

You approved a completely incorrect hook, which has now appeared on the main page for some 7 hours. Please be a lot more careful when checking DYKs. The approval was at Template:Did you know nominations/Andy Bor, the discussion is at Wikipedia talk:Did you know#Error on mainpage. Fram (talk) 07:41, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Thick-skinned deformation[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Thick-skinned deformation at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Allen3 talk 17:47, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graeme, I don't see that the edits you made back on the 24th addressed the problem, which was that there were only two sources, and two paragraphs completely unsourced in contravention of DYK rules. Were you planning on getting this fixed, or have you given up on the nomination? Please respond on the nomination template. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:43, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graeme, could you please assign an appropriate icon to your review here? I can't tell whether you were giving an interim or final review on it: sometimes, people say that much when they still have some facets left to finish, like close paraphrase checks. Many thanks! Yeah its a partial review only. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:03, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 2433 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our help desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. Plus, reviewing is easy when you use our new semi-automated reviewing script!

Requesting help[edit]

Hi Graeme. There has been some problems with the last two DYK articles above (approved by me), and I'd really appreciate some clarification on the issues raised. The threads are at my talk page, and at WP:AN. I'm finding this whole experience a bit troubling. The Interior (Talk) 23:05, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, I misunderstood and blew the whole thing way out of proportion. I've apologised to The Interior and asked for forgiveness, unstriken the DYK review, and am doing whatever I can to show that he didn't do anything wrong. Nyttend (talk) 07:03, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Query[edit]

I was just struck by your comment here. It seems wrong-headed and/or uninformed. No? Best. Biosthmors (talk) 23:33, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking at how many different references were used and th authors of them. However if you think that they are not on the topic then fair enough to discount them. Don't be too stressed if I want to include articles that others would like to delete. I will accept the consensus. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:27, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. But in this case it was a new thing, and the article cited a bunch of old articles that couldn't have possibly mentioned the new thing. Biosthmors (talk) 00:43, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Best regards, Ronni Povlsen — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.208.71.5 (talk) 14:45, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since your IP is hopping around I will answer here. The article was not on the English Wikipedia. What you pointed out is a copy of a log for the Danish Wikipedia. The deletion log shows that you should ask da:user talk:Harthacnut about it. I am only an administrator at the English Wikipedia here. To get a deleted article back on the Danish one you need to ask an administrator there such as Harthacnut. Presumably Ronni Povlsen is different to Ronni Poulsen. Orphaned non-free media (File:Braintonikgames logo2.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Braintonikgames logo2.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disambiguation page[edit]

Hello, Graeme. For your information, your description of the move of the SDK disambiguation page as "uncontroversial" was inaccurate. As explained on WP:MDP, accepted practice is not to move a disambiguation page if doing so would break existing links. In this case, moving the page broke at least several dozen existing links that relied on the old redirect from SDK to Software development kit. I've fixed these now, but in future please be aware that moving a disambiguation page over an existing title is not uncontroversial nor consistent with consensus if there are incoming links to that title. Thanks. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 01:07, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Timothy Sykes is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timothy Sykes until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. RFC/U[edit]

Uh quick question, I know its been nearly a week, but I think that you deleted the Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Tomcat7 improperly. At least one other user had put forth their concerns, while the ANI basically got straight to the point and the matter was dropped as the editor got the point. Why was it deleted? The editor in question did not put it under certifier 2 probably because they did not realize that their comments about trying to fix the problem counted as being the other editor. Certifier is a weird term, as like someone who certifies the problem exists, not that they tried to resolve it. Either way, could you help me understand it if I am wrong. Da-Wen Sun[edit]

Hello. I note that you disagree with my speedy deletion of Da-Wen Sun as promotional. I maintain that the speedy deletion was valid. But in any case, I consider that you misused your administrator tools by undoing that deletion without prior discussion with me. This is because, as you know, the forum to contest disputed deletions is WP:DRV. Administrators are not exempt from following normal deletion processes, including WP:DRV, just because they have the technical ability to do so. In addition, the policy WP:ADMIN requires that administrators should not undo each others' actions except in case of clear error, and normally not without discussion. I therefore ask you to restore the deletion and contest it on WP:DRV if you still disagree with it. Thanks,  Sandstein  21:47, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. Because you have not replied to my message, but have edited in the interim, I assume that you do not object to my re-deleting and re-salting the page. If you still disagree with this, you can contest it in the proper forum, at WP:DRV. Regards,  Sandstein  15:02, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Absent any reply of yours, I have done so. I also suggest that you re-read the administrator policy on occasion. In addition to not carelessly undoing others' actions, the policy also requires administrators to "respond promptly and civilly to queries about their Wikipedia-related conduct and administrator actions" (WP:ADMINACCT), which in this case you did not.  Sandstein  00:10, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I do not appreciate your response Sandstein, and I had already explained myself on your talk page. The idea here is to improve Wikipedia, not to delete things that you do not like. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:16, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for removing the tick - I agree that it almost passes DYK requirements, but as I said in the review, there are a couple more things that need to be done. It shouldn't take the nominator long to sort it out. Prioryman (talk) 10:53, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Ambassadors update[edit]

Hi! You're getting this message because you are or have been a Wikipedia Ambassador. A new term is beginning for the United States and Canada Education Programs, and I wanted to give you an update on some important new information if you're interested in continuing your work this term as a Wikipedia Ambassador.

You may have heard a reference to a transition the education program is going through. This is the last term that the Wikimedia Foundation will directly run the U.S. and Canada programs; beginning in June, a proposed thematic organization is likely to take over organizing the program. You can read more about the proposal here.

Another major change in the program will take effect immediately. Beginning this term, a new MediaWiki education extension will replace all course pages and Ambassador lists. (See Wikipedia:Course pages and Help:Education Program extension for more details.) Included in the extension are online volunteer and campus volunteer user rights, which let you create and edit course pages and sign up as an ambassador for a particular course.

If you would like to continue serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador — even if you do not support a class this term — you must create an ambassador profile. If you're no longer interested in being a Wikipedia Ambassador, you don't need to do anything.

Please do these steps as soon as possible

First, you need the relevant user rights for Online and/or Campus Ambassadors. (If you are an admin, you can grant the rights yourself, for you as well as other ambassadors.) Just post your rights request here, and we'll get you set up as quickly as possible.

Once you've got the ambassador rights, please set up at a Campus and/or Online Ambassador profile. You can do so at:

Going forward, the lists of Ambassadors at Special:CampusAmbassadors and Special:OnlineAmbassadors will be the official roster of who is an active Ambassador. If you would like to be an Ambassador but not ready to serve this term, you can un-check the option in your profile to publicly list it (which will remove your profile from the list).

After that, you can sign on to support courses. The list of courses will be at Special:Courses. (By default, this lists "Current" courses, but you can change the Status filter to "Planned" to see courses for this term that haven't reached their listed start date yet.)

As this is the first term we have used the extension, we know there will be some bugs, and we know the feature set is not as rich as it could be. (A big wave of improvements is already in the pipeline. And if you know MediaWiki and could help with code review, we'd love to have your help!) Please reach out to me (Sage Ross) with any complaints, bug reports, and feature suggestions. The basic features of the extension are documented at Wikipedia:Course pages, and you can see a tutorial for setting up and using them here.

Communication and keeping up to date

In the past, the Education Program has had a pretty fragmented set of communication channels. We're trying to fix that. These are the recommended places to discuss and stay up-to-date on the education program:

  1. The education noticeboard has become the main on-wiki location for discussion of the Education Program. You can post there about broad education program issues as well as issues with individual courses.
  2. The Ambassadors Announce email list is a very low-traffic announcements list of important information all Ambassadors need to be aware of. We encourage all Ambassadors (and other interested Wikipedians) to subscribe to the list; follow the instructions on the link to add your email address.
  3. If you use IRC regularly, or need to try to reach someone immediately, the #wikipedia-en-ambassadors connect IRC channel is the place to find me and fellow Ambassadors.
Ambassador training and resources

We now have an online training for Ambassadors, which is intended to be both an orientation about the Wikipedia Ambassador role for newcomers and the manual for how to do the role. (There are parallel trainings for students and for educators as well.)

Please go through the training if you feel like you need a refresher on how a typical class is supposed to go and where the Ambassadors fit in, or if you want to review and help improve it. If there's something you'd like to see added, or other suggestions you have for it, feel free to edit the training and/or leave feedback. A primer on setting up and using course pages is included in the educators' training.

The Resources page of the training is the main place for Ambassador-related resources. If there's something you think is important as a resource that's not on there, please add it.

Finally, whether or not you work with any classes this term, I encourage you to post entries to the Trophy Case whenever you see excellent work from students or if you have great examples from past semesters. And, as always, let students (and other editors!) know when they do things well; a little WikiLove goes a long way!

Request Revision History Deletion[edit]

To begin with, please forgive me if I am not following proper protocol as I am new to this. I am requesting that the revisions history made under my account name jayfriday be deleted from the article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephardic_Temple_Tifereth_Israel I believe that my account was used without my knowledge to post revisions. I have been receiving a great deal of inappropriate feedback as a result, and would appreciate it if the revisions history under my account name be deleted, or at least, that the user name is not shown. Thanks for your help, and once again sorry if I am not following proper protocol. Jayfriday (talk) 04:45, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Metal hydrides[edit]

Thank you for your continued role in the project chemistry. You are starting to see that, in Plasmic Physics, we are dealing with someone with rather strong views. Coupled with a lot of time devoted to editing, he is a formidable editor. The net result is almost always useless, IMHO, but that's life.

If you or anyone hints at splitting an article, he will seek to split many articles. We have been dealing with this fanaticism for years. One benefit from this recurring pain is that the community is forced to carefully define rules and criteria.

More specific to the issue at hand, I was going to eventually recommend that we follow Beetstra's advice on (1) de-splitting copper hydrides and (2) indicate in our MOS that we typically will not split compound articles regarding gas vs solid materials without achieving consensus by consultation at the Project Chemistry. In addition to Beetstra, Ben, also a regular, supports this de-splitting. I bring this up because I sense that you at one time toyed with the idea of creating articles on species detected in the interstellar medium. In the past we have incorporated such content into the articles on the non-gaseous state. But I am open to your ideas.

Since we have no article on MgH or CaH and they have no chance of existence in condensed phase, I support short articles on these species. Why not? Where I would want to discuss is when some composition is found in both gas or condensed phases. For example, I think TiO occurs in in the interstellar medium, but we would not need a separate article on it the gaseous form.--Smokefoot (talk) 01:34, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Resetting BLP Prod[edit]

Dear Graeme, I was patrolling my watchlist earlier, and noticed that you reset the BLP prod on Maryse Letarte without providing a reason for doing so. The BLP Prod had been placed for 10 days, as required by policy, and had expired. I was going to request the deletion of the work today, when I noticed what you'd done. Since you did not provide a reason, and the work is still unreferenced, I'll be jiggered if I'm going to wait another 10 days to get done, what should already have been done. Please don't reset BLP Prods without providing a reason, thanks. FishBarking? 22:37, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A person had offered to supply references, If you checked you would have seen that the page was deleted and restored. It is useless to restore it and have it immediately deleted! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:40, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Since I am not an admin, I have no way of seeing anywhere in the system that the article was previously deleted - and I cannot see any note on the talk page, or in the article's history noting that there is any offer to provide references. Can you show me where this offer was made please? FishBarking? 22:46, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It was made at WP:REFUND, I see I should have mentioned it in the edit summary. For prods including BLPPROD restores are made on request, but for BLPPROD reset the timer to make sure it gets deleted again if there is no action. How do you do it?[edit]

517 articles have been published on "copper hydride". How many of these do you plan to cite? What are your criteria? Certain (western?) journals? Certain authors that you find authoritative? Certain techniques that think are important? It would be very interesting to see your criteria for citation.

This predicament puzzles me about your editing style with these articles, and my continued surprise that a senior editor has decided that the rules do not apply to you, i.e. WP:UNDUE, WP:SECONDARY. Why not mainly cite reviews?

I recognize you are a dedicated and well-intentioned editor. So I am hoping to get you to announce your criteria and perhaps we can codify this priority system so that less experienced editors would know how to sift through 500+ sources. Your advice would be a service, seriously.--Smokefoot (talk) 14:38, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to cite the facts as included. CuH in stars evidence looks a little weak, so I would like to find someone that refutes it. You will be pleased to note that DOI 10.1039/B001200I is a review article. Much of my use of "primary" sources is reporting and summary of other sources, which makes it a secondary source. When I use a secondary source like this I would also include the primary source it was based on if it is available. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:40, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

John B. Kimble[edit]

Hi Graeme, I was wondering how we can appeal the arbitrary deletion of the John B. Kimble article on the behavioral scientist's article. He has run for political office many times and I believe the afd review was not done properly. In 2011 one of the deletion requesters was a wiki uses/editor that from viewing the arguments was acting outside of the scope of consensus and the person seems to be involved again in the current debates. I appreciate your service to wikipedia.2001:558:6020:192:78BE:D5:281D:41AA (talk) 07:48, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The consensus is what is decided in the AFD debates and the DRV. These are not just supposed to be a vote, but present arguments that support the voters opinion. If you can find several newspaper articles on the person that would help the case for an article. Generally candidates that don't get elected miss out on articles. Also people that vote and never do anything else are called single purpose accounts (SPA). These sort of people would be better off writing the material for magazines and newspapers to produce the independent coverage required. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:15, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I thank you Graeme. I was looking through the Wikipedia archives and found the google search from Wikipedia that showed many articles that the article used for notability. I think too much emphasis was placed on politician because there has been nationwide coverage of the scientist when he ran for office and notability still seems sufficient to me. My daughter was writing a report for her school newspaper and found the information on Wikipedia to be very helpful. I appreciate the input about single purpose accounts. I was looking at the requests for undeletion and the three levels but they seem to be very similar. I appreciate having Wikipedia around because it is a useful encyclopedia.2001:558:6020:192:78BE:D5:281D:41AA (talk) 12:11, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:John-hiatt7.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:John-hiatt7.jpg, which you've attributed to Jose Pacot. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 22:55, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eamcet_mock_counselling page[edit]

Hi,

Recently, you have deleted Eamcet_Mock_Counselling page citing that it is duplicate of Engineering_Agricultural_and_Medical_Common_Entrance_Test page. I would like to tell you that more than 75% of the new page content is different from the existing page.

Actually, mock counseling is a tool used by the students before participating in actual counseling process. The page you are referring to doesn't have any data related to mock counseling or the process of mock counseling.

  1. I have given illustrations and a few scenarios to explain how Eamcet score is calculated
  2. I have given the formula for calculation of Eamcet score
  3. I have given list of resources for mock counseling.

I must say that I am utterly disappointed that you have deleted the page without full consent and also, I feel very sad and demotivated to have spent 1 whole weekend of mine trying to help other people. I am sorry to say that I don't feel wikipedia is a place to share useful information with others and I should never waste my precious time here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nash2925 (talkcontribs) 23:23, 18 May 2013 (IST)

Actually, the first page was created to share complete details about mock counseling but I left it in between due to some reasons. I am fine if you are merging the Eamcet_mock_counselling with Engineering_Agricultural_and_Medical_Common_Entrance_Test page, but you have deleted the most important information ... i.e., mock counseling information which is most important and significant part of entire article. Why an actor who has acted for more than 1.5 years in prime time television serial - be denied a page in wikipedia? The lead actress of teh same serial has a wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abigail_Jain. Then why not of Himansh Kohli??? Its a relevant article as he is Indian TV actor at present and aslo making debut opposite a well established south actress Rakul Preet Singh.Alos the film Yaariyan, which is about to release in July 2013 already has a wiki page and its being produced by Bhushan Kumar, who aslo has a wiki page.Lionbase1234 (talk) 05:31, 20 May 2013 (UTC) So Kindly put the article back into as it was earlier or else create that draft page. But the artcile which i had put on May 19th was well imrpoved one - so better restore that version.Lionbase1234 (talk) 05:42, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the past versions - they did not have any valid references - infact they gave reference to blogs, tvforums. so they were removed. But at present - what changes you want me to make to the article? I have provided my justifiction of why article should not be removed -(in bold letters above).Lionbase1234 (talk) 05:52, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I guess now you can restore the present versions as appearing in - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lionbase1234/Himansh_Kohli — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lionbase1234 (talkcontribs) 06:55, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An earlier version was a copyright violation so I left it. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:41, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, actually the references in the userfied version are the same that were in the article that was deleted in the AfD last fall. I remember that since I spent too much time trying to find references for it, and those timesofindia.com articles which mention Kohli very briefly and - as per the AfD outcome - do not constitute WP:SIGCOV were the only refs found then. As well as now, evidently. --bonadea contributions talk 11:32, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fydell House[edit]

I speedied this as an obvious copyright infringement of the Boston.uk site, which claims copyright, before I saw your decline in the history

The link in the article doesn't work, and I can't find the content on the Fydell House web site, so I can't check either the veracity of the claim or whether it is explicitly PD (which I doubt).

I didn't intend to wheel, and you are welcome to restore if you think the text posted by the COI creator is in the public domain, but personally I think it's up to Fydell House to show us the PD licensed content Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:50, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I listed it on copyright problems and asked the writer to prove permission. The writer was not the original author either so the original writer will have to do the OTRS. I doubt that it is PD without any release! So it can be restored by the OTRS team if they ever see permission. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:58, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Graeme Bartlett,

In this case, the articles listed in the table have Wikilinks to well referenced articles. Hence, I did not fix references and now I find that I have deleted the file in which I had the referenced text. Now, I may take some time to find all the references and fix them in the article. Pl bear with me.--Nvvchar. 01:39, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have more time. I expected you could reuse the references from the other paragraphs on the areas. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:34, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Bleach - The DiamondDust Rebellion.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bleach - The DiamondDust Rebellion.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Am I ready?[edit]

Hi there i am about to request for rollback but before I request, do you think I'm ready for roll back privileges I have asked but got declined a month ago and those were for silly mistakes I made not related to vandalism. Anyways if you think I'm ready or not, feel free to ring in and tell me. Cheers! PrabashWhat? 10:49, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at reverts of JackFrost2121, I think you need to explain yourself more. Twinkle often gives no reason, some of the material you are removing is vandalism, some spam, other stuff looks to be good faith, but in any case there is no explanation about it in the edit summary. Rollback is only to be used to remove obvious bad stuff, otherwise use undo with an explanation. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:44, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh about JackFrost, that's my alternate account and I don't plan to use it at all. I have done more descriptive edits in this account "PBASH607" with an edit summary adding in notes like good faith, test, vandalism etc. though thanks for your feedback :) --PrabashWhat? 11:49, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually PBASH607 seems to have much better edit summaries with STIKI SO you have improved in the last week. But really I should check that the reverts match the summary! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:54, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I will not rquest for rollback in another 5 months or so, as I have more work to do! PrabashWhat? 13:36, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ammonium iron(II) sulfate[edit]

Hi, and thanks for all that you are doing for wikipeida. I am curious about your selection of specific articles for ammonium iron(II) sulfate. For example, why this rather specialized report: {{cite journal|last=Khodabakhshi|first=Saeed|coauthors=Mojtaba Baghernejad|year=2013|title=Mohr's Salt Hexahydrate: A Novel, Cheap and Powerful Reagent for Green Synthesis of Biscoumarins on Water|journal=Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society|volume=60|issue=5|pages=495–498|issn=00094536|doi=10.1002/jccs.201200489}}</ref>? 3100 journals citations apply to the hydrate and anhydrous forms of this material, and my experience is that articles in Chinese Chem Society are probably not the most general ones. What would you say if we worked on finding some more general articles to avoid the appearance of capriciousness? For example we could describe its use in industry, its structure, or some high impact article based on citations? I confess to being worried about the appearance of cherry picking of semi-random articles, I realize that perhaps some citations are better than none.--Smokefoot (talk) 13:16, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kevin Robles has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable minor league player.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Protection of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy‎[edit]

Hi Graeme,

In 2010 you placed Periyar E. V. Ramasamy‎ under indefinite semi-protection due to an edit-war. Given the age of this dispute would you consider lifting the protection? Hello Graeme Bartlett. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Submissions/Festivus For The Rest Of Us.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Submissions/Festivus For The Rest Of Us}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Hasteur (talk) 15:35, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Transwikied would mean that the content was transferred to another Wiki. Although there is a Wiktionary entry it does not include the material here. This article has been around a long time edited by many. Therefore I do not think that speedy delete is appropriate. It would need a consensus. Nomination of OpenProject for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article OpenProject is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/OpenProject until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. noq (talk) 20:26, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Werieth (talk) 20:20, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
