WBIZ (1400 AM, "98.7 The Brew") is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the station serves the Eau Claire area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc..[1]
History
The station signed on in 1947 as WBIZ. Call letters were changed to WEUZ on May 19, 1988. On April 8, 1991, the station changed its call sign back to WBIZ.[2]
In July 2012, WBIZ filed an application for a U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) construction permit to decrease power to 970 watts.
On July 18, 2016 WBIZ changed their format from sports to classic hits, branded as "98.7 The Brew" (simulcasting on FM translator W254CN 98.7 FM Eau Claire.[3]
