Nuclear bomb history
Hawkeye,
Thanks for the appreciation of the Sandstone article. I'm the maintainer of a database originally intended to build up a .kml file for all the world's nuclear testing, but I've decided that I may as well spread the data around. It's in an Access database, and I've been writing Basic code to generate all the content pages (excepting, of course, the freehand content) like "Operation Sandstone" and is brethren, not only US but USSR, GB, France, China, India, Pakistan and NK. The "root" page is "Worldwide nuclear testing counts and summary", which links to the others through country-level pages down to the series (Operation) pages. I've spent the last month perfecting the VBasic code and am in the process of final application to all the pages. I redrew Crossroads through Tumbler-Snapper last night, and will plow on until all the pages are to the same level of detail. I've added references to the reflist at the bottom of the pages; placing inline refs on each line of the tables would not, I believe, be very illuminating. If you have suggestions, please, lay on.
If you'd like my humble efforts in editing your copy, I'll be glad to; just send a link or whatever is needed. My knowledge is pretty specialized (I'm a retired aerospace/software engineer and unrequited scientist of several kinds), but I may be able to add something to the effort.

- If you click on the link I gave you, it will take you to the review page.
- What you need to do to the nuclear tests is add a reference to the ultimate source. Otherwise, someone will eventually come along and remove it as unsourced. Hawkeye7 (talk) 20:14, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Main Page appearance: Douglas MacArthur
This is a note to let the main editors of Douglas MacArthur know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on January 26, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 26, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
Douglas MacArthur (1880–1964) was an American general who played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor, as did his father, was one of only five men to rise to the rank of General of the Army in the U.S. Army, and the only man to become a field marshal in the Philippine Army. After graduating first in his West Point class in 1903, he participated in the 1914 occupation of Veracruz and served on the Western Front during World War I, becoming the U.S. Army's youngest major general. Thereafter he held a variety of posts, including Superintendent of West Point and Chief of Staff. He retired in 1937, but was recalled to active duty during World War II. After the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, he escaped with his family and staff to Australia, where he became Supreme Commander, Southwest Pacific Area. He fulfilled a famous pledge to return to the Philippines, and officially accepted Japan's surrender on 2 September 1945. He oversaw the occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1951, implementing many reforms, and led the United Nations Command in the Korean War until President Harry Truman had him relieved of his commands in April 1951. Do you have a citation for the claim that his GCB was awarded by Australia, and over the objections of the British government? I have no reason to doubt either claim, but the citation given doesn't support them, it just says he was awarded the British GCB. Colonies Chris (talk) 09:49, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think the article needs an additional reference, but in articles like this, the wording sometimes carefully states the situation. Under the old Imperial Honours system the Australian government would send nominations for awards to Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom. However the awards were still British, and the British Secretary of State for War enforced rules for quotas and eligibility. After conferring with the British, the Australian government was intending to nominate MacArthur for a KCB, George Kenney for a CB and Robert Eichelberger for a CBE for the Papuan campaign. The issue blew up when the news reached Australia that the British government was intended to confer a KCB on George Brett, a former subordinate of MacArthur, for his role as deputy ABDA commander in 1942. MacArthur considered that being given the same award would an insult, and said that he would decline any lesser award than that customarily given to four-star generals like Harold Alexander, ie the GCB, and that his subordinates would similarly decline honours. On being asked for his advice, Thomas Blamey told the government that he agreed that it was an insult, which he felt was a calculated one by the British to diminish the importance of the war in the Pacific. The Australian government then went to bat against the British, who in the end were forced to give way. As a result, MacArthur was awarded the GCB, Blamey the GBE and Kenney, Eichelberger and Edmund Herring received the KBE. See Hetherington, John (1973). Hawkeye - Congratulations on bringing the Douglas MacArthur article to today's Main Page as a featured article. There likely are many who are scholars on the Douglas MacArthur topic and have written about his life. Given the wide interest in topics like MacArthur and the Manhattan Project, I find it very impressive that you are able summarize such voluminous information to where others agree that what you wrote is a thorough and representative survey of the relevant literature. Hey, about the bomb availability for Hiroshima...
http://books.google.com/books?id=JM4OD4jMsjkC&pg=PA16&dq=demonstration+only+two+bombs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=AODpUvSvF4mHogTNkIDADw&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=demonstration%20only%20two%20bombs&f=false http://books.google.com/books?id=Haf2g1mbsH8C&pg=PA86&dq=two+bombs+demonstration+Truman+and+Hiroshima+cult&hl=en&sa=X&ei=MOHpUqLQBcnzoATy-IGgAw&ved=0CCkQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=two%20bombs%20demonstration%20Truman%20and%20Hiroshima%20cult&f=false
Are these informations good enough? I was wondering because the U.S. only had two bombs by August 1945 with a few more coming later on until September and I wonder if these were good enough.XXzoonamiXX (talk) 05:24, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- No, there were three; there was also the Trinity gadget. I'm unsure how many they thought they'd have and when in May 1945. As noted in the article, the Demon Core was ready shortly after Nagasaki. Looking at the books here, we actually have four sources: Sherwin, A World Destroyed (1977), Hewlett and Anderson The New World (1962) and Compton Atomic Quest. That Teller and Strauss claimed supported a demonstration comes from US News and World Report of 15 August 1960 (which your source questions). How about bringing Chicago Pile-1 to GA instead? Hawkeye7 (talk) 09:36, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- I might look into this information deeper but besides, I was asking if these information were valid for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki article. One of them says by August 1945, the U.S. only had two bombs left. XXzoonamiXX (talk) 19:22, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- It is the sort of thing that we would not say in the article, because it would lead to a misunderstanding. In the 1940s they did not have nuclear weapons like we have today, they only had piles of bomb components. Counting bombs was therefore problematic. What we normally count is the number of cores. Hawkeye7 (talk) 20:25, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, point taken but we're talking about the bomb available for combat use. There is no doubt the bombs was still processing after the two bombs were used in combat but i'm talking about the bomb availability. I could say that the U.S. only had two atomic bombs after wasting the first one for the Trinity Test but the rest will not come in until last August 1945. Is that ok with you? XXzoonamiXX (talk) 02:58, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- No, we are not talking about bombs actually available for combat use. They would only be so after the 1st Special Ordnance Sq assembled them. So when we talk about bomb availability, we mean components to make them: cores, initiators, detonators and assemblies. Hawkeye7 (talk) 10:01, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Any information regarding the cores and stuff would you like to give me in addition to the combat bombs? Otherwise, I might screw up.XXzoonamiXX (talk) 18:49, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Can you answer me please? XXzoonamiXX (talk) 18:57, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- What more do we need tyo add? We already say: Groves expected to have another atomic bomb ready for use on August 19, with three more in September and a further three in October.[187] On August 10, he sent a memorandum to Marshall in which he wrote that "the next bomb ... should be ready for delivery on the first suitable weather after 17 or 18 August."' Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Re: Moshe Mann
Hi again! Great to hear from you. Most of the info on hewiki is not sourced, but the little that is is sourced to a book from 2013 about the battles of Mishmar HaEmek that I just ordered. I will translate a sentence or two right now, and hopefully add more info from the book once I get it. Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 10:13, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Stop it...
You are out of control with your changing articles to Australian English. This page is not Australian in any way; there was no Australian involvement at all. If you change it back, I'll have to report you for vandalism. Magus732 (talk) 06:10, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- By the way, threatening me in an edit summary is very dumb; everyone can see what you wrote. Magus732 (talk) 06:16, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- I created the article back in 2009. It is about an action on Australian territory. I'm sorry you feel I was threatening. The English cannot be changed now even if we agreed. Hawkeye7 (talk) 06:51, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, you are wrong. Just because you wrote it, that means nothing. Also, it doesn't matter where an article's subject matter takes place; it matters who the major players are. There is no tie to Australia on that page. And it can be changed by a simple consensus vote, which would undoubtedly end up with American English being selected. So I'm asking you once more to stop changing this page. Magus732 (talk) 17:26, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Using a misleading edit summary in your edit where you changed the variety of English used doesn't help your case. As a US operation conducted on what was Australian territory at the time, either variety of English can be used here, and it doesn't make a great deal of difference really given that only a handful of words appear to be affected (if I'd written this article I would have used US English, but there's nothing intrinsically wrong with Australian English here). I'm surprised that there's no discussion at Talk:Landing on Emirau given that a few editors are now involved. Nick-D (talk) 23:16, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- When I wrote the article on the Admiralty Islands campaign, I used a mixture of US and Australian English. This was historically accurate, but the proofreading editors wanted a choice to be made. So after a brief discussion we settled on Australian English. When I created the Landing on Emirau I conformed to that. Hawkeye7 (talk) 01:59, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 February newsletter
And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
- Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
- WikiRedactor (submissions), another WikiCup newcomer. WikiRedactor has claimed points for good article reviews and good articles relating to pop music, many of which were awarded bonus points. Articles include Sky Ferreira, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus and "Wrecking Ball" (Miley Cyrus song).
Other competitors of note include:
- Hahc21 (submissions), who helped take Thirty Flights of Loving through good article candidates and featured article candidates, claiming the first first featured article of the competition.
- Prism (submissions), who claimed the first featured list of the competition with Natalia Kills discography.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions), who takes the title of the contributor awarded the highest bonus point multiplier (resulting in the highest scoring article) of the competition so far. Her high-importance salamander, now a good article, scored 108 points.
After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.
DYK and QPQ
Hi Hawkeye. Thank you for approving the DYK for Landing at ANZAC Cove, and also for your note about QPQ.
I've been copy-editing Jim Sweeney's work for several years now (with a large break in between), and these days I copyedit and nominate the articles, while he actually writes the articles. It's a fantastic thing to be able to help with that, and it's also great that he puts in the much greater effort needed to research and expand the article in the first place.
On our first collaboration in 2013 (after a long hiatus), I told Jim that I would be submitting the article for DYK because it was eligible as a GA. He said that he had given up on DYK previously after the rules kept changing. I had forgotten that he had used DYK previously.
When I first submitted Jim's 2013 work to DYK, I did a QPQ review because it seemed obvious that the rules required me to do so.
The reviewer then corrected me by saying "unnecessary QPQ done".
So I stopped doing QPQ reviews.
From your comment, I think that it's an open question as to whether new nominations require QPQ reviews or not. Personally, I've always been more comfortable with doing one review for each nomination (regardless of who created or expanded or improved the article), so from now on I will be doing that.
(I've probably reviewed several dozen DYK nominations, and only ever nominated less than two dozen, but that's a minor detail.) --Demiurge1000 (talk) 23:34, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Feeling abandoned and seeking advice
Please reply about this, either here or on my talk page. On a good note, amazing stats of the last two days inspire me to get this FAC show on the road. Before you reply to me, please see the 2014 talk threads. A lot has happened since the A-class review. I've run out of ideas and feel painted into a corner. Multiple people started to help and then just abandoned in mid-stream, most likely because this was not their priority. I have no desire to get between personalities - I just want to get this passed at FAC. I've never been through the FAC process. Can you help either with editing or with something constructive? I have the feeling posting about this once more on the MH talk page might be something folks over there are tired of reading about. — Maile (talk) 16:53, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- No worries. FAC can be scary and a bit of a gauntlet. It's also kind of depressing when others show little interest. I have an article at FAC right now but cannot drum up the reviewers. What was the sudden spurt in interest in Audie about? Anyhow, I suggest just nominating it. Military career of Audie Murphy is also very good too. You could send it to A-class or GA. (Aside: Does TNG really stand for Texas National Guard? What is the abbreviation of the NG in Tennessee?) Hawkeye7 (talk) 09:49, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. This is what I needed - feedback about whether or not I should take the leap. And I shall. The Military career of Audie Murphy is essentially what made it to A-class when it was in the main article - good idea, I'll submit that as A-class. I've been told the spike in views was due to Social Media. — Maile (talk) 11:18, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 March newsletter
A quick update as we are half way through round two of this year's competition. WikiCup newcomer Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith.
With 26 people having already scored over 100 points, it is likely that well over 100 points will be needed to secure a place in round 3. Recent years have required 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) and 100 (2010). Remember that only 64 will progress to round 3 at the end of April. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page; if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Main Page appearance: Frank Berryman
This is a note to let the main editors of Frank Berryman know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on April 11, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at present, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 11, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
Frank Berryman (1894–1981) was an Australian Army general during the Second World War. After serving during the First World War on the Western Front with the field artillery, he spent nearly twenty years as a major. He joined the Second Australian Imperial Force in April 1940 and became chief of staff of the 6th Division, later becoming Commander, Royal Artillery, 7th Division. He commanded "Berry Force" in the Syria–Lebanon campaign before returning to Australia in 1942, where he became chief of staff of the First Army and then Deputy Chief of the General Staff. As chief of staff of New Guinea Force, he was involved with the planning and execution of the Salamaua–Lae campaign and the Huon Peninsula campaign, and in November 1943, he became commander of II Corps, which he led in the Battle of Sio. He was the Australian Army representative at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay. After the war, he directed the Army's response to the 1949 Australian coal strike, became the Director General of the 1954 Royal Tour of Elizabeth II, and was Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales. Joachim Peiper - Request for Clarification
Hi, My understanding of the Joachim Peiper article is that it was last assessed and given "C" status in March or May of 2008. In your comments dismissing the B-status review request you said "Doesn't look like it's been changed much either. Still C class" (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_history/Assessment/Requests&oldid=603275413). This perplexes me b/c in the span of six years the article has increased from (37,673 bytes), the size when it was assessed and then edited to meet the assessor's objections in 2008 (but not reassessed afaict!!) (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Joachim_Peiper&oldid=215536070), to (74,645 bytes) in its current state.
I'm confused b/c I don't know how you could reasonably say that Joachim Peiper "Doesn't look like it's been changed much..." since 2008, when it obviously has been changed. I think I must be failing to understand something, because your comments in dismissing the request don't seem to reflect the reality of the evolution of the article, and they certainly don't seem to provide useful insight that would help me, an editor new to the subject, make the improvements necessary to merit B-status when all I have to go on is the original 2008 assessment, which never drew a response after the article was edited to address some apparent objections of the initial reviewer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Joachim_Peiper/Comments).
Like I said, I'm confused here and fear I may have misunderstood something, especially because I just made a big effort to improve significantly the article lead (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Joachim_Peiper&oldid=603203176) - although in fairness, I only NOTED that improvement on the talk page this morning, and the section I'd started by saying I thought the lead was too short has only now been struck to show that's no longer the case. But otherwise, I don't know what I missing and want to understand.
So I would appreciate it if you could help me to understand the situation better so that I can contribute more effectively by understanding more clearly how these administrative processes work. Thanks for your time! JDanek007Talk 09:00, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- It's really quite straightforward. The B class assessment is a mechanical process based on a simple five-point checklist. And the problem with the article last time it was assessed (which was on 6 June 2013 - it was upgraded from Start to C) was not the degree of coverage, which I consider more than sufficient for a B class article but the fact that it was not fully referenced (point B1). It still isn't fully referenced so it is still a C. The reality is that for the article to progress, you have to either dig up references covering all the unsourced material or remove it. There are already a few {{citation required}} tags but not all the unsourced material is tagged. Hawkeye7 (talk) 11:53, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- Ahh, OK! That makes so much more sense now! I was misled by the prominence given to the " This article has an assessment summary page." link on the talk page, which I thought was related to the only instance the article was ever reviewed - hence why I stated 2008. I really appreciate your clarifying this for me, Hawkeye7! And just out of curiousity, is there a special place one goes to to find out when an article was last assessed by Military History project? I am, of course, feeling a little foolish still for thinking J.P. article hand't been assessed since 2008, but wasn't aware of how to determine when the last time actually was. Cheers!! JDanek007Talk 18:51, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- There's no special place I'm afraid until the article reaches GA level. An article history section with then be added to the talk page. I found out by looking at the talk page change history. Hawkeye7 (talk) 19:49, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Hawkeye, sorry that I've been reviewing these slowly as I've been very busy over this holiday. Hi Hawkeye,
As promised at the WMAU meeting, I've had a bit of a look over Australia at the 2014 Winter Paralympics to assist with the GA review. I don't want to formally review it myself, as having been involved in the Paralympic collaboration I might be considered to have a COI, but hopefully these comments will be helpful.
- In the "Team Support" quasi-section, some positions are introduced with a colon, others with a dash. This could be made more consistent, or ideally converted into prose.
- The summary section looks a bit out of place, as it's essentially a reduplication of the lead paragraph (and not a usual feature of WP articles)
- The article could benefit from some photographs or other images.
Other than the above, it's fairly solid and I don't think it should have any problem passing a GA review =). Lankiveil (speak to me) 11:55, 4 May 2014 (UTC).
- We only got one photograph at the games. I hope that the APC will release some more. I did not think that the international brigade would have any interest in Australian athletes, but the outcome was disappointing even in that regard. We did the best we could, but we have to send someone (me! me! me!) to Rio. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:59, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
Paul Tibbets source
Hey Hawkeye. I have an article at FAC so I stumbled across yours. I started reading and I quickly came to one of those points that always bothers me in articles but are sometimes unavoidable, where it's pretty clear the year is not known so the text says "later" or "soon thereafter" and so on. In short, I started looking for a source for the timing of Tibbets' move to Miami and came across the book Seven Hours to Zero with the info and used it to source that tidbit. It seems to me the book has lots of relevant information you might want to see for this article. Since I was able to download the book (in a manner not easy to duplicate), I wanted to know if you wanted a copy. Shoot me an email and I'll forward it. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:50, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I like the Wikipedia articles to have dates as accurate as possible, in order to make it easier for kids to paraphrase the text. Hawkeye7 (talk) 22:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
WikiCup 2014 April newsletter
Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Czar (submissions) and Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.
192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. Good luck! FA congratulations again...
Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Silverplate to FA status recently. I know you know all about WP:TFAR and the "pending" list, so this is just a reminder to use them as and when suits you.
You (and your talk-page stalkers) may also be interested to hear that there have been some changes at the TFA requests page recently. Nominators no longer need to calculate how many "points" an article has, the instructions have been simplified, and there's a new nomination system using templates similar to those used for DYK suggestions. Please consider nominating an article, or commenting on an existing nomination, and leaving some feedback on your experience. Thank you. BencherliteTalk 09:12, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
