    Shortcuts

    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

    After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

A group of users are removing talk page topics potentially due to conflict of interest even though cited articles state sexual abuse allegations of Pramukhswami who is a famous guru with thousands of centers throughout the globe. This was discussed when the allegations became public and it was decided that two former members accusing the swami of rape and abuse was not important to include because of said reasons on talk page even though the group, BAPS, acknowledged the allegations and denied any wrongdoing.     Creation protection: User:DumbBOT is malfunctioning and constantly creating these categories with technical gobbledygook. All categories for every date from today to around May 1 need creation protection so the bot stops making them (this should buy us time to fix this). I suggest having the protection expire the day after the date in the category name, since it shouldn't be needed after that date. Discussions are here and here.
