Revision as of 20:38, 8 June 2020

This page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    Instructions for special cases:

    Sergei Millian

I, codyave, am requesting an undeletion for Sergei Millian.

I created a new wikipedia page for Mr. Millian a couple of days ago, but he has just informed me on Twitter that he had an active page many years ago. He says, however, that sometime in January 2017, it was deleted without his awareness (he has provided screenshots in his tweet as proof).

At the time of deletion, he was a public figure, and reportedly is currently involved in the FBI's investigation into Trump-Russia collusion.

    Codyave (talk) 20:35, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To be clear, I would be okay with the page being fully reverted back to its c. 2017 state.

Not done Nothing to undelete that I can see. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:37, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    Hmm...interesting.

Just for clarificiation: this means there are no records of a wikipedia page for Sergei Millian, prior to the one I just created a few days ago, right? Codyave (talk) 16:14, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the history https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sergei_Millian&action=history where you will see that there was a version. I cannot see any history logs that it was deleted or restored though. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:17, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. No article ever existed at Sergei Millian until your creation on the 29th, barring something unusual like the whole thing being oversighted. —Cryptic 15:30, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Graeme Bartlett, I'm not sure if I totally understand what happened, so bear with me, and please help me understand it. It appears that JJMC89 took my sandbox/research subpage and redirected it the non-existent Sergei Millian, thus creating an article with the history of my sandbox. That made it possible for Codyave to then create the article. I have no problem with the creation of the article. It was needed. I do have a problem with my private subpage being used in the process. Now my subpage is gone, and its history is part of the new article. I want my subpage and its history restored, and that part of the Sergei Millian article history removed. Codyave should have a "clean start" for his article.
JJMC89 made my page a redirect and deleted its content. (The article history shows that the size of the deleted content at the redirect matches the size of the existing content when the article was created.) That is so wrong. I have never seen that done before. My subpage should not have been touched, much less deleted. I have requested on their talk page that they fix it, but they do not respond.
Here's the log for the redirect. Pinging Muboshgu, as they too should look at this. -- Valjean (talk) 15:16, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Holy shit! This gets weirder. I just noticed the dates for the merge in that log, and see that the merge was done the next day, after Codyave had started his article. What the heck happened here? -- Valjean (talk) 15:17, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It happened right after the creation of this thread. -- Valjean (talk) 15:30, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Codyave: did you find my subpage and start editing it and use it as the start of your article? What's the timeline here? -- Valjean (talk) 15:20, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like User:JJMC89 history merged Codyave's article and your sandbox. I don't see any obvious justification for it; they seem editorially independent. —Cryptic 15:30, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. There is no need for attribution as they are completely independent. -- Valjean (talk) 15:31, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is weird. But, resolved? – Muboshgu (talk) 15:38, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Muboshgu: it isn't resolved yet. I want my subpage restored, with its history, and for the new article's history to start fresh, without any mention of the history from my subpage. I have never seen this happen before. It is very weird. -- Valjean (talk) 16:50, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Valjean, it is, and I still don't really understand what happened. This was done by JJMC89, and they should undo it. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:53, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I left two messages on their talk page, but they will not respond. What happened is not an unforgivable sin (maybe just poor judgement?), but the lack of a response is concerning behavior for an admin. Poor judgement is human, but maturity requires accepting responsibility, and that is a requirement for an admin if they wish to retain their position/tools. -- Valjean (talk) 19:13, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Still no response, so pinging here: @JJMC89: -- Valjean (talk) 23:09, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Valjean, I'll look into this later today. I'm not at my home base atm. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:36, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Muboshgu I remembered wrong. It turns out that my subpage's history was not deleted, so I have just reverted. It appears that JJMC89 has removed the history from my subpage from the [new article's history] so it now starts fresh. That's good.
There is an improper edit warring deletion which I shouldn't touch, but someone else needs to restore the proper content to the lead, and the IPs need to be stopped. Maybe protect the article.-- Valjean (talk) 16:20, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BAGZAMILLEON, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, Premeditated Chaos (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:36, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Established in 1918 with over 100 years of history, it has just been brought to my attention that the entire article regarding the organization has been deleted. Homenetmen is the guiding force behind the Boy Scouts of Armenia, as well as the companion organization to scouting organizations throughout the world. Moreover, as an athletic organization, competitions and events revolving around its activities continue almost daily throughout the diaspora. —76.103.13.5 (talk) 18:48, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    • Not done we don't restore pages deleted as copyright violations here, you will need to talk to the deleting admin or use WP:DRV. This page was deleted because it was written by somebody with a long history of copyright problems, as outlined by policy. I assume you ran it through an automated copyvio detector, those certainly do not guarantee that something is not a copyright violation - they frequently miss content which has been closely paraphrased, copyright violations where the source has gone dead, copyright violations of printed sources, etc. Hut 8.5 16:54, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    BB&T

The article for BB&T was redirected to Truist Financial because the two companies where involved in a merger in late 2019. The problem is that according to the new company the merger will not be completed for like two years. So the redirect was completely premature since people still need information about BB&T until the companies are actually merged. Even then I think redirecting would be questionable though. Since BB&T is a notable enough company to warrant it's own article even after it is fully dissolved. There are plenty of Wikipedia articles about defunct notable companies and I see no reason why BB&T should be treated any differently. So, i'd appreciate if the article was restored at least until the merger is actually completed in a few years, if not permanently as a historical record of the company. —Adamant1 (talk) 06:01, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I guess what would be restored is the article being under the BB&T article title again and the info panel being reverted to contain BB&Ts information instead of Truist Financial. Plus changing some other minor things to reflect that the merge hasn't completed yet. They should be two separate articles under different titles, with different infoboxes, until the merger is complete though. Since they are still separate companies. I assume I can't just get get rid of the redirect and restore the BB&T article to how it was pre-redirect, with the proper infobox etc, on my own though? --Adamant1 (talk) 07:36, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I mean "restore" in the sense of undeleting a deleted page. There is no deleted page here so there is nothing to undelete. The content is all still there, it's just been moved somewhere else and edited. It sounds like what you're after is splitting the article in two or moving the article back to its old title, both of those can just be done as part of normal editing and neither has anything to do with deletion. This page was deleted by User:Fastily. Secondly given the reason for deletion you'll have to either ask Fastily for it to be restored or use WP:DRV to appeal the deletion (although if you use that you should still contact Fastily first). The page was deleted because it looked like you were using it as a personal web host, which isn't what Wikipedia is supposed to be used for. If you just want the contents I can email that to you. I remember that AfD. I'm pretty sure the acquisition by Zynga was mentioned in the article at the time of it being deleted. Since the article was deleted on 12 May and the news about it was before that. Plus, I just remember it being in the article. So, it's not really recent news in the respect that it was factored in to the AfD. That said, acquisitions aren't normally enough to make a company notable on their own anyway. So, likely if the article is restored just on those grounds it will be AfDed and deleted again. --Adamant1 (talk) 09:44, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We are working very hard to provide our members proper Indoor and Outdoor Cricketing facilities. I am the person whom the article was about. I have no idea why it was deleted or who made the request. That is unsurprising, as I did not have anything to do with the original page. It could be due to political reasons as politics is a cutthroat business and leaders are targets?

I feel that I have contributed to the evolution of Métis self determination and recent history of the Metis Nation. I was the first woman to lead an Indigenous organization in Saskatchewan when I became Interim President of The Métis Nation Saskatchewan in January 2004. I was elected to the Métis Nation Saskatchewan executive twice.

Of note, is the fact that I am the mother and management team member, of Joey Stylez who has a page in Wikipedia.

My married name is Lorna Ledoux.

    Sapan Desai

The original article was deleted mostly because it was a hagiography and in notability concerns. With the major media coverage on the Lancet article that he is a coauthor on, there is more than sufficient notability now. Having the page refunded would make it possible to update it to reflect germane information related To his Surgisphere company and the data that is now so disputed. —BoonDock (talk) 22:25, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion was at AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sapan Desai. The current page is just a new redirect to Surgisphere. The AfD said that the article had been heavily edited by the nominator, I'd like to see the earlier versions. If you need a new a place to deposit the old article, please use User:Smallbones/Sandbox2 Smallbones(smalltalk) 22:59, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect I haven’t explained myself correctly. I had nothing to do with the original article. I’ve just been contributing to the Surgisphere one and it makes sense to recreate (or create from scratch) an article on Desai BoonDock (talk) 23:03, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In case it's not clear to the submitter what was done, there is still a redirect at Sapan Desai pointing to Surgisphere but the history under the redirect includes that of the original article on Sapan Desai that was deleted. Not done – this page was deleted as a blatant advertisement under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia is not to be used as a vehicle for promotion. This does not necessarily mean a suitable article on this topic cannot be created. If it is a notable topic, e.g., multiple reliable, secondary, published sources that are entirely independent of the subject have written about it in substantive detail (not just mere mentions), then a neutrally written article may be possible. This one was written like a commercial. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:23, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    Time Trapper

The Time Trapper is a confusing DC comics character with a complex history; the previously existing page offered a lot of info which is not elsewhere so consolidated on Wikipedia. The article was deleted for reasons of being considered "comic trivia" and for its in-universe style. However, these things can be corrected and that doesn't seem to warrant the removal of the information. —SSBDelphiki (talk) 12:05, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The collection of these poems are termed as Miya Poetry. But in recent time due to context of some poems, it creates a controversy in Assam, especially among indigenous people of Assam.[1] [[2]]

    • (Non-administrator comment) The last edit the IP made before posting at REFUND was this one to The Amazing World of Gumball in May 2019. That edit was reverted, but perhaps the IP wants it restored. That type of thing doesn't really fall under the purview of this page, and if anything would be a content dispute which needs to be discussed at Talk:The Amazing World of Gumball. In this case, however, the edit was more like a WP:NOR type of personal comment that's not really suitable for a Wikipedia article than an encyclopedic improvement, and probably has no chance of achieving a WP:CONSENSUS in favor of re-adding. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:18, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    • Done – as a draft that was deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored upon request. However, the draft namespace, though it is intended to provide some breathing room to create and develop a page without the time pressure of immediate review, is not for the indefinite hosting of material that is unsuitable for inclusion in the article mainspace. Please continue to work on the draft so that it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for inclusion and then submit it for review—at the least, prior to another six months elapsing. When you are ready, a review can be requested by placing this code at the top of the page and then saving: {{subst:submit}}. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:41, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    Draft:Pride of the Americas

Draft was deleted due to inactivity. My intent was to update with more supporting documentation and resubmit but due to the pandemic, my attention had shifted. I would still like this opportunity to edit the page and resubmit. Would you please undelete the page so that I can do this? Thank you! —MiikMartorell (talk) 18:59, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Soft deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arise from Darkness. Hello, I'm requesting that the article be moved to the Draftspace, so that I may improve it and see if someone can review it (I have conflict of interest because I'm part of the film studio). An editor proposed the deletion and all of the movie and studio articles were deleted. I am suspecting an intentional reprisal due to the fact two days prior an email was sent to our film studio asking for precise wordage to be removed from several of our Wikipedia articles in relationship to a movie. Within 48 hours all of the studio and movie pages on Wikipedia were proposed to deletion, claiming that none of the references used were valid (a reviewer checked and published the article years ago, with those same references). I understand that there may be discrepancies, but can there be such a wide criterion to evaluate a group of references? Thank you very much for your help. —Michael.j.schwartz (talk) 20:36, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. You can now find it at Draft:Arise from Darkness. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:42, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama

Request refund to draft (or failing that userification) of both article page and talk page. Previously deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama. Intention to develop article as lede of Grand Mufti of India (oldid=961149600) indicates and is sourced to indicate importance of organisation in election process of the Grant Mufti incumbent. Attempted to contact XfD closer contacted at User talk:Yunshui#All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama first but no response within 48 hours (closer seems taking a short break from WP and is certainly entitled to RL) so coming to WP:RFU for refund. Please remember to restore talk page as well or indicate if talk page not present. Thankyou. —Djm-leighpark (talk) 23:19, 7 June 2020 (UTC) Djm-leighpark (talk) 23:19, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
