Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article AirAsia, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 07:59, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Foxconn edit

[edit]

Thanks for adding something to the Foxconn page. You copied and pasted from this article. Please do add things, but please don't copy and paste your additions. I appreciate the fact that you cited the source, at least.

Everything on Wikipedia can be copied and pasted to another website. It's okay to do that, but not ok to do the reverse. It's because everything on Wikipedia has a Creative Commons copyright (this means it's okay to re-use or modify) and most other websites on the Internet do not.

So, you can't copy and paste something to Wikipedia because you're probably not allowed to by copyright law.

I have edited your contribution. Fleetham (talk) 18:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

Yeah, I don't really know how much you need to change something for it to be considered "not copied and pasted". I would recommend not just reworking the prose you found but taking the facts you found and connecting them. Cited sources are best thought of as containing facts to use, not prose to change.

I would not recommend copying and pasting and then copy editing. If you want to add something, make sure it is true by finding something you can cite that says it. If you just add things you know are true, they can be challenged and removed if there isn't a citation to support them.

And you don't need to add citations, but it is helpful. Everyone is allowed to edit in any way they want, but people will remove stuff and say "sry, WP:NPOV" or Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers or WP:BEANS and that shows you why they did it.

Sometimes it is okay to copy and paste, but use quotation marks ("...") when doing so. For some reason people think it's okay to quote copyrighted material, but only if it's short. Not an entire page. Some articles that have quotations in their leads include Viktor Bout, Tata Nano, etc. These quotes are not more than a paragraph, and the quote does not comprise the entire section. It's just one paragraph of a multi-paragraph section.

Sometimes you know something to be true, but the citation only supports some of it. So, you can "get around" this by using {{citation needed}}, which when you type it in makes this:[citation needed] This also helps you avoid WP:SYN, and shows a possible way to use more than one citation in a single sentence. If you want to make a two-citation sentence, just replace {{citation needed}} with the second citation. Don't make a WP:SYN error when doing this.

For example:

"The last act of the play revolves around the character Cricky Thomas,[citation needed] and he dances and sings to the tune of seven guitars."[1] This is also the best part of the play.[1]

Response 2

[edit]

I don't really understand your response to mine. All the rules are selectively applied, but that's not why they exist.

Basically the rules allow you to complain to an admin. who can do something you can't like make someone stop editing a page. Or "lock" a page so there is less vandalism. There are pages that you post your complaint on to get attention. I don't were they are but I was easily able to find them when I needed to. Then an admin. can say, "no, the WP:living persons means you can't say that" but also enforce it. Fleetham (talk) 04:37, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think the Worldwide figures are more interesting and there is a good graph already (which makes the same point) so I've reverted your edit as it only gives US figures. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 23:21, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Four emerging markets has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Neologism. Not yet in substantial common usage.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Indonesian Seven Summits Expedition Mahitala Unpar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:51, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your attention. It is not about a club, however the title is like that. The title is official until now. But as a big expedition there are many persons involved including from the Television and certainly other climbers. Some of them only accompany for two or three climbing. The aim is to reach seven summits by a team not only by several persons of the team, so if they cannot reach all the seven summits altogether as a team, the mission is fail, although as a person they still noted. I will make additional information I got and I think is better if their activities is for the country and not for the club only. I'm also agree if the title will be changed. The article ASEAN 2030 FIFA World Cup bid has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Given that there isn't even an article about the 2026 FIFA World Cup, let alone 2030, it seems a bit daft to have an article about a rumoured 2030 bid.

Encyclopedic language and sources

[edit]

Your edits to systemic lupus erythematosus and Down syndrome fall well short of content policies and guidelines, and both have been removed pending improvements. In general, using newspaper sources on scientific topics introduces a level of inaccuracy as the journalists introduce lay language and concepts to make the content understandable. Your choice of words was such that it hyped the "new" discovery while actually giving very little information about how it worked (e.g. the monoclonal antibody in lupus or the blood test in Down syndrome).

Have a look at some science and health topics that are FA or GA quality. You will see what I mean. JFW | T@lk 10:21, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Similarly, this edit took the newspaper's rehash of a manufacturer's press release as fact. At the time, there was no independent confirmation that the concerned regulator, Health Canada, had approved the drug, yet your statement was unguarded, saying the drug had in fact been approved. As it turns out, CBC News now has stated that they got an email from the regulator confirming the approval, but it still has not shown up on the HC database or in their news releases. Similar announcements have, on occasion, been used to manipulate financial markets or to pressure regulators to move, so they must be treated with circumspection. Please see also wp:MEDRS. Wikipedia is not Wikinews. In most cases we can wait for confirmation. LeadSongDog come howl! 16:48, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Canals in Jakarta

[edit]

Hi Gsarwa, welcome to Wikipedia. I removed your addition regarding the "U-shaped (flood control) canal" in the Jakarta article, mainly because there is no reference (book sources, citation, etc.) for your information. It is true that the canals are U shaped, etc. But always add citation into any additions to any article in wikipedia. Too many Indonesian article are created without any citations, making the article very unreliable and ranks low in quality. You can add the information again if you can provide citation. Thanks and happy wiki-ing. --Rochelimit (talk) 22:01, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Gsarwa, Please forgive me regarding my last comment about Four emerging markets. I am definitely not an expert in International Management, so I do belief you have good intention and full knowledge in bringing this article into Wikipedia. I don't know but maybe you should place the Four emerging markets article into Emerging markets article as a subsection? My only suggestion is if you wanted to add an article, try to incorporate it into an existing article, or you can also ask more experienced users whether to create a new article or incorporate it into an existing article. --Rochelimit (talk) 18:35, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Citations, and full citations

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article National Institute of Aeronautics and Space, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Hi Gsarwa. I'm N2e and would be happy to help you learn how to better source the material you add to Wikipedia. I also work a lot on space-related articles and would like to see the Indonesian space program better covered in the English Wikipedia, so I am happy to help.

I have reverted your most recent addtion to the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space article, as no citation was included. If you have a source, but don't know how to do wiki-citations, I would be most happy to help you learn. Just send me the source you have that backs up the claims, and I will edit the article and add a good citation for you, as an example of how you can do it. Cheers. Thanks for trying to add a citation on the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space article. Unfortunately, the link seems to be broken and I can't find that source. See if you can take a look and fix the link.
On your recent edit to theNuclear power in Indonesia article, I have added the necessary information to make your bare URL source become a {{full}} citation. It would improve Wikipedia if you took a look at that citation I put in, and then used it as an example of how to make a complete citation. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help you out. N2e (talk) 19:33, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dengue

[edit]

Thanks for your addition to the dengue fever article. At the moment, the "prevention" section only discusses measures that are currently used. It is less suitable for measures that are still experimental. The "research" section already mentions that a number of vaccines are undergoing testing, and this is probably sufficient until they are actually proven to work.

I hope you otherwise find the article helpful. I've been thinking about taking it to WP:FAC for some time. JFW | T@lk 05:49, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. mgiganteus1 (talk) 14:29, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've only checked a few of your recent additions but of the ones I've seen all have been copied word-for-word from the original source. Examples include [2] and [3]. See Wikipedia:Copyright violations. mgiganteus1 (talk) 14:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not even copying one or two lines is allowed - this still constitutes a copyright violation. The facts themselves are not copyrighted, but the way the information is conveyed *is* copyrighted. You must rewrite everything in your own words. If you don't feel comfortable doing this you can always leave a note on the talk page, linking to the source in question. mgiganteus1 (talk) 15:41, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

[edit]

Hi Gsarwa and thank you for your enthusiasm in expanding articles about Indonesia. In the past days I reverted several of your edits for lack of encyclopaedic content. Please be aware that Wikipedia is not a newspaper and not a travel guide. There are however similar projects with these exact scopes such as our sister project Wikinews and the collaborative travel guide Wikitravel which would welcome such contributions. When you come across interesting information, please consider its encyclopaedic relevance prior to adding it here. Thanks. --Elekhh (talk) 08:32, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your consideration. I am aware of your good intentions, and am here to help. My edit summaries do explain the edits I make, and if not clear enough, don't be afraid to ask. Regarding you comments on Google maps coverage of Jakarta, there is also WP:NOTPROMOTION. Again that's something which would be more appreciated on a different website. Another issue: when referencing please provide proper citation if possible indicating author, date, publication, etc. Further info here. Finally, as you are probably multilingual, you might be interested in Wikipedia:Babel. Cheers. --Elekhh (talk) 12:32, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I encourage you to write for the Wikipedia written in your native language

Albino killer whale

[edit]

Hi. That wasn't the first sighting of a "white" (can't call him an albino as it hasn't been confirmed) adult male killer whale. Sightings were made of white adult male killer whales in 2000 and 2008, not to mention sightings of a white adult female and a juvenile. I don't believe a sighting such as this deserves its own section and an entire paragraph. You could perhaps replace it with a single sentence mentioning the fact there have been white killer whales sighted in the wild (haven't bothered to check to see if that was already included in the article, though). Removal of Taman Prasasti Museum

[edit]

Dear Gsarwa. I decided to remove your 'Taman Prasasti Museum' addition to the article Tanah Abang. It should be noted that the museum is located in Tanah Abang 1 Street which is located in the Subdistrict of Gambir and NOT the subdistrict of Tanah Abang. However, there's already the article Taman Prasasti Museum and so if you wanted to add info about the museum, you can add referenced information there.--Rochelimit (talk) 21:59, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gsarwa. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Tawon Car".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tawon Car}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 17:17, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Indonesia Women Seven Summits Expedition, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Medical sources

[edit]

Hi! May I point you to Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine)? We try do use high-quality medical sources; a study with a couple dozen patients simply isn't enough to claim that one drug is superior over another. Best, ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 11:39, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

Someone left you a note about this just above, as well. Jytdog (talk) 15:44, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

English wikipedia

[edit]

Someone somewhere above has asked:

I am reiterating a comment made by a user above. Since this is an English encyclopedia, contributors are expected to have a good grasp of the English language. Almost all of your edits contain grammatical errors. Please edit with attention on the many aspects of the English language and consider the readers while doing so

In your edit of https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Indonesia&oldid=749812065 - you are (1) edit warring WP:3RR (2) re-inserting material that cannot be understood by english speakers.

You will either need to submit your material to another editor to check for sense and context, or face sanctions JarrahTree 08:38, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Secondary sources

[edit]

Per WP:MEDRS we tend to use secondary sources rather than small primary sources. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:14, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

your usage of english

[edit]

is close to being untranslateable, either in your edit summaries or texts you are creating material that will have to be deleted - either consider offering an indonesian language version of what you are trying to say - or expect to be reverted where your attempts at english remain generally incomprehensible JarrahTree 05:50, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree
Gsarwa, I concur (agree) with JarrahTree. Your edit, here, to Tuban was quite bad, as far as your English usage. See my following edit, here, to 'clean up' yours, plus a few other unrelated edits. You need to improve your English. If you are using translation software, like Google Translate, please don't. Regards, 220 of Borg 06:06, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Gsarwa. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Indonesia Women Seven Summits Expedition".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 05:10, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia Women Seven Summits Expedition, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.
The article has been assessed as Start-Class, which is recorded on the article's talk page. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Thank you to accept my draft. I always use reputable data, however the sources possible are in Indonesian language. Indonesia have many reputable online newspapers, but only several of it are written in English. I always search the data first in online English newspapers.Gsarwa (talk) 14:16, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
