United Eagle Airlines Airbus A319-100 at Kunming Wujiaba International Airport

United Eagle Airlines Company Limited (鹰联航空) is a privately owned airline based in Chengdu, Sichuan, People's Republic of China. It operates domestic passenger services and its main base is Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.

History

The airline was established in 2004. Its first aircraft, an Airbus A320, was delivered in July 2005. In March 2009, Sichuan Airlines invested $200 million RMB in United Eagle Airlines, holding 76 percent of its shares.

Late in 2009 Sichuan Airlines Group reduced its stake in United Eagle by selling its shares to Comac and Chengdu Communications Investment Group. Following the ownership change, United Eagle placed a firm order for 30 ARJ21s, with the first to be delivered in late 2010. The ARJ21 is a Chinese-built 90-seat regional jet that is going through a flight test programme in an effort to get Chinese certification before year-end. [1] The airline was renamed Chengdu Airlines in January 2010.

Currently Chengdu Airlines has a fleet of seven Airbus A320-family aircraft and operates on domestic routes from its base at Chengdu.
