Template:BS-map Guangzhou–Qingyuan Intercity Railway, also known as the Guangqing Intercity Railway, is a high-speed railway within Guangdong province, China. It will connect the provincial capital Guangzhou with Qingyuan, a branch line will connect to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This is a part of the Pearl River Delta Rapid Transit network, with the Airport branch eventually connecting with the extended Guangzhou–Dongguan–Shenzhen ICR to form the northern and western sections of the Guangzhou Circle ICR. It will be built with an operating top speed of 200 km/h.

Route

Guangzhou to Qingyuan

Starting at Guangzhou Railway Station, a high-speed railway will be built alongside the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway within the city to Guangzhou North Railway Station. From there to Qingyuan Railway Station, this railway will run alongside the Wuhan–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway with separate platforms for each railway and 3 new regional stations being built in between these stations. After crossing the Bei River this railway will branch off to the west, serving two new stations in Qingyuan.

Airport branch

After Qiche Xueyuan (Automotive College) Station, just north of Guangzhou North, this branch line will go north-west through Huadu District and 2 new stations before arriving at Airport North station at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This line will connect with an extension of the Guangzhou–Dongguan–Shenzhen ICR,[1] allowing for a direct high-speed rail link between Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, with a further proposed link to Hong Kong Airport possible in the future.
