I have noticed several cases of disruptive editing, vandalism, adding original research, altering statements to contradict sourced materials, and not adhering to the neutral point of view. @Wandrative: do you have any idea what WP:NEUTRALITY means? I've reverted both Chinese POV [1] and Korean POV such as yours [2]. You, on the other hand, have been edit warring with multiple editors to exclusively promote the Korean perspective. You need to read the RFC closure comment on the article talk page: "Editors recommended following WP:UNDUE in presenting the different viewpoints and WP:NPOV in not favoring one side over the other." More abuse of warning templates by blocked user

@Zanhe: Firstly, you have edited the article against the cited sources, which drops your actions into acts of original research. Secondly, you must re-read the terms of WP:NEUTRALITY yourself. From the comment above, I could report that you have committed "Harassment of other users" as you have blamed me for "edit warring with multiple editors to exclusively promote the Korean perspective.", which is not true. You are imposing the Chinese POV my deliberately removing many phrases that state that Goguryeo is Korean, even against the sourced materials. I revert both extremest Chinese POVs such as yours, as well as extremest Korean POVs (see history in [3]). The established neutral point of view that has been settled in Wikipedia is the format that has been protected. Since when did the Chinese POV become the 'neutral' standard in your analysis? This would fall into original research also. Combining with the information that has been presented in my talk page: 1- you have once again altered the statements to misrepresent the sourced materials. 2- You are not adhering to the neutral point of view, although not being knowledgeable of the situation. 3- you wrongly accused an editor of committing something that one has not done, and have also used the wrong level of warning even if it was appropriate (this triggers two levels of warnings in combination). For these reasons I paste these warnings on your wall: Please do not add defamatory content to Wikipedia, especially if it involves living persons. Thank you. Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. I seem to recall Bish telling me somewhere that she's not enough of a masochist to go after these user conduct messes more than seems necessary. A courtesy ping once when her name was mentioned on ANI would probably be enough, which is why I didn't ping her myself (I saw you already had). Wand was engaged in unambiguous and clearly problematic canvassing (did you see where he tracked down an admin who blocked me two years ago?[4]), and we have unambiguous evidence of such; but we kinda lose the moral high ground when we repeatedly ping the same editors, even disregarding that it might have a 逆効果 by annoying said users. DYK rejections on the Approved page

Zanhe, we prefer to let the bot do the cleanup on the Approved page, which automatically removes approved and rejected nominations and logs the fact every two hours on the odd hour. It's only on the regular nominations page that we have to remove the dates by hand, because the bot was designed not to touch date headers on that page. Wrong User On Miryang Hospital fire

The updater column refers to the person who has updated the article nomination on the candidates page, NOT the person who created or updated the article. As I updated that nomination to the correct title, that makes me the updater not the person you claim has updated it. Read the logs. @ChieftanTartarus: I think you've misunderstood the meaning of the "updater" field. It refers to the person responsible for most updates to the article, not to the nomination. See Template:ITN candidate. About a past edit

I noticed for this article: https://i.imgur.com/NALUb2O.png someone added a "random indian reference", I did some digging and I was surprised it was you. Here on Wikipedia indians have a tendency to add their country to articles that really shouldn't reference india or its people, which is really annoying since I have to undo/rewrite it without such bias. So coming back to you, I was surprised that a (Chinese?) person would add a random indian reference in an article about a war in Afghanistan vs NATO, that has nothing to do with india. @YipC: You seem to be confused on several points. 1) My edit summary clearly notes that the info was merged from Draft:January 2018 Kabul car bombing, a duplicate AFC draft article that was written by someone else. I was simply merging the info before turning the draft into a redirect; 2) NPR.org is not an Indian reference, and was already used in the article before my edit; 3) The nationality of the editors is irrelevant, what matters is whether they write from a WP:Neutral Point of View. Georgejdorner, for future reference, the promotion to GA can be a second chance for articles that were previously nominated but were rejected for being too short, insufficiently expanded, or whatever reason. If you should have an article that qualifies, when you do nominate, please do not reuse the previous nomination template as you did here; a differently named template needs to be used. (If you need help with that, just ask at the DYK talk page.) For this nomination, since the same page was reused, it seemed to me that the best thing to do was to revert to the original nomination closure; the second nom edits will be accessible from the article history in case anyone goes looking. I've just taken care of it. (If you'd prefer, I can create a separate template, populate it with the edits you and Zanhe made, get an admin to merge in the edit history, and then formally close it.) One of the many things I like about DYKcheck is that, in addition to all the size and newness and expansion information, it also tells you if there was a prior DYK, and when the article was moved to mainspace. Request possible Information, knowledge or assistance in putting a halt to vandalism who are deliberately misinterpreting multiple sources in Wine History Page

Hello Zanhe. You seem like an experienced wikipedia editor, who is also knowledgeable and versed on issues and pages regarding China, sadly I am not. I am an occasional editor and have nowhere near the knowledge on how to stop vandals when mods/admins fail to show up (they usually do when there is vandalism going on). I don't know who to talk to to make that happen either.

I was wondering if it was possible to request some information or assistance, on how to put a stop repeat vandalism on the Wine History Page, where a vandal is repeatedly introducing Factual Errors/Falsehoods, and attributing them to two separate sources, in a bid to deface the page with lies.

There are two Legit sources (1. by Prof. Castro-Sowinski and 2. by Prof Gina Hames) that state that China has "grape wine" around 7000 BC. The Vandal can't seem to handle that fact, and keeps twisting sources into making it seem China had no wine at all, but something else other than legit wine... This is going straight against the majority of the sources originally present... All in a attempt to pull his preferred nation (Georgia) as the first nation to have grape wine, while sources explicitly contradict this. This is because he has no legit sources that states Georgia had grape wine at 7000bc or earlier. He goes all crazy defacing the page and then demanding people talk first and not restore the original version!

He repeatedly tries to Misrepresents/Twist those two sources sources, introducing Factual Errors, keeps changing his story and even deletes Quotes from those sources (1. Castro-sowinski and 2. Hames) to make it seem they are based on a 3rd vague source (McGovern)... while that is totally untrue, as they dont even cite McGovern on this specific issue.

Well, it's not a subject I'm familiar with. The sources do seem to support Jiahu, China as the earliest place which had fermented grape juice, although possibly mixed with other alcoholic beverages. The best way to deal with the dispute is probably to start an RFC on the talk page, to solicit input from more editors. Hello Zanhe Good Sir, My sincerest apologies, for this very late reply. Real life kept me busy and away from home (and sadly, still very busy). I had to suddenly leave on the 10th on short notice (business), briefly returned on the 12th, asked around about Wikipedia Rules, but before I could check your page, I had got another call and had to leave again. Furthermore, accept my apologies, this time for KartvellianCelt, who was following me around while I was gone, which is going against WP:FOLLOWING. He seemed to think he has the right to barge in uninvited and harass the people that I sought advice from, on their Talk Pages. He even did this elsewhere, on Another Talk page. I never invited him here, nor even mentioned your name to him. The time gap between his last series of edits took 11 days (31 march to 10 April), and one before that, even longer. Yet, I never followed him around and harassed the people he visited on their pages, just to get his attention... I don't know what his problems are...

I never wanted to see anyone dragged into this mess, which was why I only asked for advice - and did not link anything - in the form of Information, knowledge or assistance with the rules, to stop his violations. But then I see he decides to barge in and spread more lies (see below about his "invite" I never received, until I called him out for it on another Talk page, very recently)... The fault is mine for not providing links his to violations, which clearly shows that they were not merely different interpretations based on Good Faith, such as outright "Vandalism" / "Blanking" as shown Here (and that's why I started calling him a Vandal) the exact two quotes I placed there of Professor Castro-Sowinski as well as Professor Hames ( See here ) in a bid to put a stop to his violations. Those two quotes seemed to be very inconvenient to his WP:Synth and WP:OR misinterpretations of those exact two critical sources. Not only did he withheld mentioning his deletion, he left a mocking comment in his description, instead aka trolling as shown Here(More details in the 2nd section below, which I will add later on, when I get the chance). It is cool, it is not a as much a question about wine, but more about rules of Wikipedia, regarding repeated abuse of WP:Synth and WP:OR amongst other violations. Because without WP:Synth WP:OR, his whole story about mixtures and other fruit falls apart and he cant abuse it anymore (See the 2nd section below). I thank you for your advice on the RFC, I'll check it out. I agree with you on Assuming Good Faith, which is exactly what I did (see below in the 2nd part). Sadly, for there to be a continuation of Good Faith, one has to act in Good Faith as well. Hi Zanhe, I'm the "vandal" that 24.132.187.209 is complaining about. I invited 24.132.187.209 to talk about it on the talk page for history of wine but they did not do so; rather, they aggressively responded to my edits and accused me of vandalism and lies. All I did was rephrase the sentences to make it clear that the drink in ancient China was a mixture of fermented fruits and not grapes alone. None of the sources are explicit in mention of a beverage being made purely from grapes and Castro-Sowinski, the source that 24.132.187.209 so religiously clings to is not about that archaeological site but rather about micro-organisms and environmental biology. It briefly mentions grape wine in china but not in any real detail. In any case, I have since rephrased my sentence in a more compromising manner by explicitly stating that the beverage in China was a wine made from grapes among other fruits. About the surname of Ding Hui (volleyball)

Ding Hui's mother, Yu Jian-xiu said that Ding Hui's surname is from his father from South Africa. Therefore, this "Ding" is not Chinese surname, Ding (丁). "Ding" is a kind of transliteration though Ding Hui might not know his father's whole surname.Thickertom (talk) 03:24, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

Zanhe 您好, 在電影"A Better Tomorrow 2018"英文維基頁裡, 遇到一位奇怪的外國人(他的IP是5.xxx.xx.xxx). 在2018年1月5日, 他悄悄地在電影英文維基頁裡的Infobox, 將音樂作者填上Komail Shayan(KS). 此時電影還沒上映, 電影的上映日期是1月18日.

我是這部電影的粉絲, 在騰訊和Youtube上已經有電影影片了, 我想在維基頁上填上更多的電影資料, 讓它看起來很豐富. 我參考電影影片的開頭和結尾(film credits), 還有電影的官方微博, 想將Infobox裡的每一個欄位都填上正確的資料. 我發現電影音樂作者是撈仔和竇鵬, 不是KS. 於是我在3月21日將維基頁更新. 沒想到隔天, 那位外國人(5.xxx.xx.xxx)立刻將音樂作者改成KS.

後來我在3月24日, 再次更新維基頁, 沒想到隔天, 那位外國人又改成KS了.

後來我在3月29日, 我又更新了維基頁, 沒想到同天, 那位外國人立刻改成KS, 這次他在KS旁放上參考資料. 我看到那篇參考資料, 是一篇英文影評, 影評的結尾處, 提到一些工作人員, 包含KS. 後來我發現那篇影評是1月24日寫的, 作者應該是參考了當時電影英文維基頁上的音樂作者KS. 這篇參考資料, 並不是來自官方, 應該不可以放進Infobox的. 他看起來很堅持己見.

這部電影的所有工作者都是中國人, 沒有外國人的. 電影音樂的作曲編曲指揮都是撈仔和竇鵬,演奏是中國國家交響樂團和國際首席愛樂樂團.

我的維基資歷不夠, 他可能不會理會我. 不曉得可不可以麻煩您幫忙和他溝通一下?

@Huangdan2060: I see that you've restored the content, and I'll keep an eye on it too. However, the history section does seem a bit too detailed to me. I agree to cut out some of the sentences in this article, but the article should keep the historical context. If the people associated with Da Yu ding do not write into this article, the history would be meaningless.I used to write articles in Chinese Wikipedia util it was blocked by the government. The 'History' description was written on internet articles which contains mistakes. e.g. Pan family really moved from Beijing in 1896/1897, NOT 20th century... and Pan Zuyin alredy used the Pangu Pavilion in 1872, It was not built for the 2 tripods.. etc.. Media sources are often bad for interpreting ancient inscriptions, but are generally reliable for reporting more recent events such as the 20th century. What is your source for Wang Juntao's place of birth being Gong County in Henan Province? The creator of his page included a reference to a reliable source listing his place of birth as Beijing. @Oaxacanalia: You are confused about the facts. I was the one who changed his birth place to Beijing and added the source, see [5]. Knle, who wrote the article, reverted it back to Gong County, twice. About maps

Can you help make some location maps of China's provinces? Like "File:Location map China Hunan EN.svg", it can show places within the maps if fill in the latitude and longitude. Now Wikipedia only has the location maps of Beijing, Shanghai, Gansu, Guangdong, Hainan, Hubei, Hunan, Qinghai, Shandong, Sichuan, Yunnan, Fujian, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hong Kong, and Macau.--Huangdan2060 (talk) 09:03, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

The WikiCup

As a WikiCup judge, I have had to disallow four of your DYKs because you submitted them too late. The rule states: "In the spirit of fair play, contestants have 14 days to nominate their work after promotion (for good and featured content), appearance on the main page (for did you knows and in the news articles) or the completion of good article reviews. Work submitted after this time is no longer eligible."

The ones I have disallowed were from February and March and were submitted on April 23rd. I have allowed all the ones from April even though some of them were technically submitted a little late. @Cwmhiraeth: Well that's a bummer. Several of my submissions in the first round were not counted toward my final score either, probably for the same reason, although I didn't bother to find out why. I entered my name on a whim and never read the detailed rules (maybe a counterintuitive and traplike rule like this should be added to the front page). @Donald Trung: I've visited countless interesting places, including many remote cultural and archaeological sites. I always visit local museums wherever I go, and have taken 10,000s of photos of exhibits. Organizing and uploading them will be a time-consuming challenge, however. If you need a photo of a certain place or artifact (especially Chinese), drop me a note and I may be able to find one from my personal collection. @損齋: The uploader claimed the photo was taken in 1955 and PD, but it was likely taken in 1988 and not PD, because it's a picture of a man in his sixties, not a 20-something. Young Companion Photos

I know you're on vacation and there's no hurry with this. I have substantially added to the Liangyou photos on the Commons and should have the entire group of 172 magazine covers from the first Liangyou added within the week. Many of them have included identities in Chinese which brings up articles on Chinese Wikipedia and on the Encyclopedia Baidu. It looks like there is plenty of material for anyone who wants to work on Chinese articles. I am going to do some of them but there's way too many for me in the time I have available. @Jacqke: Thanks for uploading the images and creating the missing articles! Yes, Wikipedia's coverage on China is terrible. Unfortunately this is a huge problem with no simple fix. We have only about a dozen regular contributors for China-related topics, while there are easily several hundred thousand articles that need to be created. The general consensus is that band members are not individually notable unless they have a significant career outside the band. Excuse the late reply, and same here with procrastination. Qianlong Tongbao is supposed to be my final article but I've been too busy procrastinating to actually write it. Anyhow it's the article "Da Shu (Song dynasty)" ("The Great Shu Kingdom") a Kingdom created by Li Shun in Sichuan, I've found quite a number of English language sources on its coinage but very little about the state and its administration itself except for here so most sources are probably in Mandarin Chinese. Interestingly enough it is already mentioned in the article "List of peasant revolts" but for some reason those writing about the Song Dynasty on the English language Wikipedia have largely ignored it, comparably the Kingdom of Chengjia also in Sichuan created by Gongsun Shu also doesn't have a large entry here but the Mandarin Chinese Wikipedia article about the country is of considerable size. If I would include other internet encyclopedias like the Baidu Encyclopedia all of the aforementioned subjects would have large articles but finding Anglophone sources isn't always an easy job. --Donald Trung (talk) 19:04, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

@Donald Trung: what do you mean it's supposed to be your final article? There are tons of articles still missing, you're not quitting, are you? As for Da Shu (Wang Xiaobo/Li Shun rebellion) and Chengjia (Gongsun Shu regime), there is some coverage in The Cambridge History of China, although in far less detail than I hoped. I'll dig up my Chinese books to see if there's more info. The last one I had planned until I discovered this. But I've exhausted my sources on Chinese cash coins to the point that most "new" content I'm writing is just a fork and theoretically I could write about every individual Chinese cash coin inscription but then I'd end up mostly writing stubs and out of principle I don't write stubs (I'm not against stubs as it's better to have some information than no information, I just don't think that stubs give the readers the information they're looking for), I'm mostly trying to (semi-)retire from here so I can finally focus on Wikimedia Commons. You won't believe how much files I still want to upload to Wikimedia Commons and those files could be used anywhere else and honestly I think that the coverage of Chinese cash coins will probably first be expanded on the Mandarin Chinese Wikipedia. Anyhow I literally used all of my sources ad nauseam so I literally can't find anything new on them. I won't quit because I still have to fix Vietnamese cash and expand the coverage of silver coins (especially foreign dollars and pesos) at Qing dynasty coinage. My biggest issue with the coverage of the monetary history of China is that the entire coverage of the Chinese yuan issued between 1912 and 1949 seems to be missing or at least barely covered. I won't write in that area but I'll try to have around images of 3000 (three-thousand) different banknotes from that era on Wikimedia Commons so others could illustrate it when they're writing about that currency. Alternate names of PLAN

Hi Zanhe, I saw your removal of the alternate names of PLAN. I do not think the removal is appropriate as PLAN has been referred by the two alternate names in Chinese and English contexts. Huang Clan Empire

Hello, i noticed that you have disputed the content on the page Huang Clan Empire, changed the title, and cut the content. According to Wikipedia rules,"Simply being of the opinion that a page is not neutral is not sufficient to justify the addition of the tag" - you do need to supply reasons. All the information i have put on that page was referenced and cited. The term 'Huang clan empire' is commonly used to describe the extended family business empire in media reports - therefore Huang Clan Empire would appear to be more accurate than Miramar Huang Family, which gives the impression that it is just one family, which it isn't - it's an extended network of different families. (Please click on the references to confirm) You've also removed the list of businesses that are or have been controlled by the Huang Clan Empire. To know what businesses the clan is involved in is basic information, surely, not my POV. I take the Wikipedia regulations of sourcing material very seriously - if there is information there that you believe has not be sourced adequately, please let me know and i will be happy to either remove it or improve the references. @Before the Bang: The language you used in Miramar Huang family reads more like a tabloid than an encyclopedia: "born ... on the wrong side of the Keelung River, the Huang brothers didn’t cross the river, they moved it." "they built an empire, becoming known for their colourful, at times tragic lifestyles." And the title you chose, "Huang Clan Empire", was seriously POV. We do not even describe the Rockefeller family as an "empire". Please read WP:NPOV and pay close attention to the policies: "Avoid stating opinions as facts", use nonjudgmental language and maintain an impartial tone. Ok, thanks for your explanations, i'll take them on board, but believe it or not, it is "a fact", not an opinion, that they did manage to have the Keelung River moved (straightened), which resulted in their land changing from useless flood prone land, which was previously on the non-city side, to prime inner-city real estate, and i did supply a reference for that.

Anyway, i have removed that part for the moment - i understand that someone not familiar with the Huang clan or Taiwan would find it implausible - i will discuss it in a later section with more detail as it's a key to understanding how they managed to build up such a successful business conglomerate.

As for the 'Huang Clan Empire' i was simply using the term that they are commonly referred to by in mainstream media reports. I can use another description but i do feel that your alternative suggestion, Miramar Huang Family is misleading as readers would assume that it's just one family, which it isn't. If they did move the river, go ahead and describe it in the article, but in a neutral, non-sensational tone. The Huangs are closely related enough to be considered one extended family, not a clan. The Rockefeller family or the Kennedy family is not a single nuclear family either, but they are still considered families. For examples of clans, see Cui clan of Boling and Lu clan of Fanyang, which lasted for centuries and had thousands of members. -Zanhe (talk) 04:05, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

@Donald Trung: I don't know of any good website, and find Google books to be much more useful in general for finding reliable English sources. Although many pages are unavailable for preview, from multiple sources you can often put together a more complete picture. Template:Did you know nominations/Xia Chao

Zanhe, is the only reason that you did not pass this nomination because you were proposing a revision of ALT1 as ALT1a, and felt there needed to be a new reviewer to sign off on that one, or were there other issues? Heart Sutra

Hi Zanhe. Thanks for helping me with the publication of the Dānapāla . It was the needed push to publish the article. I am currently having problems with some editors or maybe admins re: personal translation of Chinese-sourced material for the Heart Sutra article. Basically its this announcement from PRC 國家文物局 "房山石经 《心经》 刊刻研究成果发布被认为是现存最早版本，为玄奘所译" located at [[7]]. My translation is located on the Heart Sutra Talk Page and I have attached it here :

Fangshan Rock Sutra “Heart Sutra” Announcing the Results of Research into Its Engraving - Regarded as the earliest extant edition and translated by Xuanzang

    September 24th, in front of Fangshan Mountain Yunju Temple’s Rock Sutra Underground Depository, the committee for the announcement of the results of research into the Engraving of the Fangshan Rock Sutra “Heart Sutra” gathered.  Chinese Institute of Sociology and Researcher at the Institute for World Religions, Fangshan Mountain Yunju Temple and Stone Sutra Research Center Director Mr. Luo Zhao, announced the results of research into the engraving of the Heart Sutra located in the Fangshan Rock Sutra.  He regards what is now kept at Yunju temple Rock Sutra’s eighth cave as the oldest extant edition of the Heart Sutra and certified as translated by imperial decree by Xuanzang. The co-chairperson of the Fangshan District government Tang Shurong, etc., affirmed the results of this research, (followed by promises to protect and preserve the precious cultural treasures located there).

    Mr. Luo Zhao explained in detail the results of this research.  He said, the Prajnaparamitahrdaya Sutra, commonly called the Heart Sutra, has numerous Chinese translations, the most popular one was the translation by the great translator Xuanzang. The earliest record of Xuanzang’s translation of the Heart Sutra is within the Da tang neidian lu, this record was coincidentally completed the same year Xuanzang passed away (664 CE),  However there are two records in the Da tang neidian lu.  One clearly records “Xuanzang   translated it by imperial decree.  The other did not mention the translator.  Furthermore there exists in the Heart Sutra’s Chinese and Sanskrit texts special features not found in other Buddhist sutras which led to long-standing competing theories in the international scholastic world on  whether Xuanzang actually translated the Heart Sutra.   

   Amongst the Fangshan Stone Sutra Steles, the engraved stone stele of the Heart Sutra dated to 661 CE is the earliest extant copy of [Xuanzang’s 649 translation of] the Heart Sutra, made while Xuanzang was still alive, as he passed away three years after the engraving. This stone sutra stele explicitly states in its colophon : “Tripitaka Master Xuanzang by imperial decree translated”;moreover the merits for engraving the stele came mainly from Yueyang County adjacent from Chang’an (today’s Xian), which is not far from Daci’en Monastery [where Xuanzang was translating sutras at the time]. Also there is another engraved stone stele of the Heart Sutra [located at Fangshan] dated to 669 CE which also has the same colophon inscription i.e. “Tripitaka Master Xuanzang by imperial decree  translated”. In addition to these, we have the Xian's Stele Forest [stone stele] dated to 672 CE, Hongfu Temple’s [another temple where Tripitaka Master Xuanzang translated sutras] Ven. Master Huairen’s [commission of the (re)engraving of] “Foreword of the Holy Teaching of the Tripitaka of the Great Tang” [written by Emperor Tang Taizong] [reign 626 CE - 649 CE] and on the reverse the “Heart Sutra” [both] in the collected calligraphic style of Wang Xizhi, also is inscribed with “Xuanzang by imperial decree translated”. Therefore these examples certified that Xuanzang did indeed translate the Heart Sutra and furthermore was ordered to do so by Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty.

    The engravings of the Fangshan Rock Sutra started in Sui Daye era (605-618), the high priest Jingwan ...(followed by why Jingwan engraved the sutras, brief history of Fangshan, how many stone steles still survive today and how Fangshan stone Sutra is the largest collection of stone steles in the world - a rare treasure in this world.)

This is the gist of the announcement --- Mr. Luo Zhao is searchable on Google Scholar and has been in the field from at least the 1980s and is fluent in Chinese, Tibetan and Sanskrit. Mr. Luo Zhao is also referenced in an English language work on the Fangshan Stone Sutra 房山石經. Mr. Luo Zhao's work and Chen Yanzhu's work re: Xuanzang translating Heart Sutra at least as early as 661 CE have not been mentioned by western academia so far (I couldn't find anything). So that's why there is a need for translation.

I'm going to give you some background on why I added this article. There is a theory being promoted originating with Jan Nattier that the short version of the Heart Sutra was first created by a Chinese person (most likely Xuanzang) and then back-translated into Sanskrit. Later Sanskrit translations came back to China and then retranslated into Chinese, Tibetan, etc., (long version). This would then make the Heart Sutra 偽經. This type of information is mentioned in Chinese and Japanese wikipedia but it is only one or two lines and then countered by research from Japanese scholars 原田和宗 and 福井文雅 as well as Red Pine, an American who became a Buddhist priest in Taiwan (now ex-priest) who has written an English language book on the Heart Sutra. His work has been somewhat denigrated on English wikipedia Heart Sutra article esp. by a self-described amateur scholar who has published articles in peer-reviewed UK journals who is very pro-Nattier. He objects to anything mentioning anti-Nattier views and counters them with Sanskrit examples; many of which have already been disproven by Japanese scholars. Baidu's article also makes no mention of Nattier's theory. 'I'm debating whether to delete the whole section containing this (Heart Sutra Dating and Origins) and have put out messages on editor's talk page re: consensus for it as the Nattier theory is contentious.' I argued that there is no NPOV if the English Heart Sutra page is not balanced with the research from the camp opposed to Nattier. However since their work are in Japanese and now an announcement in Chinese, they said it is not a reliable source. My personal translations are not considered reliable sources. Some editor or admin said the Chinese announcement is not considered a reliable source although it basically quotes or paraphrases Luo Zhao, etc., and also because it is not peer-reviewed. Luo Zhao wrote a book recently which may have the same contents but now there is an editor staying that is not a reliable source since the book is not verifiable by English wikipedians since I would have to translate it and the book is not available in public libraries in UK or USA; I probably have to buy it from China. On the other hand, there is a source published in Taiwan (Chen Yanzhu) which states the same thing from 1995 but without reference to Jan Nattier that I can get from a library outside China. I am wondering if you can get involve in this and help me out. I'm not clear what is the translation policy of English Wikipedia. If translation is permissable, I was wondering if you could help me by corroborating my translation or even correct it. That way it has been verified by other English Wikipedians. Let me know what's your thoughts about above article as RS. Otherwise I will try to translate the Chen Yanzhu's relevant portion of book with your corroboration. Chen Yanzhu should be RS since it's been the source of footnotes in at least 2 western articles on Fangshan and the 661 CE Heart Sutra. Or better yet get a Chinese peer-reviewed article from CNKI (if you have access to it) that mention this; as other English Wikipedians knowledgeable in Chinese can confirm the information themselves through the internet. (Unfortunately I do not have access to CNKI). Hopefully this is enough to allay some editor's fears that it's all made up. There are multiple issues here. Thanks in advance. Bullshit

The article Guan Shu Xian is as good as its equivalent Cai Shu Du, with the same quality of sources. I don't think I need to give any more sources since the article I've linked it to already contains all that information and more. And there are no independent sources at all about Guanshu that do not deal with the broader Three Guards Rebellion since this character is not very famous.

On Queen Jiang/Qiang, the name is not wrong. FYI it can be written in more than one way, as most things in Chinese. @Es157: 1. Yes, Cai Shu Du is also garbage, but it was created ten years ago, when the quality standard of Wikipedia was much lower. More recently, editors who repeatedly add unsourced or poorly sourced material can be blocked or topic-banned. 2. Queen Qiang is wrong. Although Chinese names can often be romanized in different ways, and 姜 can be written Jiang or Chiang, but Qiang is never correct. 3. I think the purpose of this site is to do exactly what I've been doing lately. Any well-written article that is informative and true is not garbage, and you should appreciate them. Bashing everything people try to do here for any reason is only repelling contributors. The information is there anyway so the simpler the better. No one who uses Wikipedia for a reading is interested in looking for individual pages of tens of different unaccessible books they never heard of. This site does not enjoy a reputation of being an Oxford-standard academic encyclopedia, just a popular quick info source. If you think they should have better sources, improve them. A simple article is always better than no article on a topic.

@Es157: Wikipedia will never reach the quality of academic publications, but it's our job to keep the information at least verifiable and point people to reliable sources when they need more information. Unsourced and unverifiable stuff is close to worthless, as it can be (and often is) simply wrong. And I find it baffling that for someone who claims to have access to multiple sources, you barely bother to add any to your articles.
