    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars.     After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Indefinite Full Protection: This template is currently the subject of revision as a result of the upcoming U.S. switch from analog to digital television. While discussion is still ongoing, the template has been changed several times by 66.46.167.154 (talk • contribs), a suspected sock puppet of Carlb (talk • contribs), who has ignored requests to engage in dialogue to build a consensus. The IP was warned with {{uw-vandalism2}}, which they labeled as vandalism and replaced with an inappropriate {{db}}. The IP has been reported to WP:AIV, but the template needs longterm protection.     The template has three fields, analog, digital_temporary, digital for use during the US DTV transition. For instance, WNET channel 13 is digital 61 - that channel will no longer exist after all of this is over. So analog=13, digital_temporary=61, digital=13. Rollosmokes has admitted that he does not understand templates nor their operation, yet he keeps reverting the template to a version which would display this as "analog 13, digital 13" - which makes no sense until the DTV transition is over and the analogue channels removed. This has been explained to him repeatedly, yet he (and a sock or meatpuppet acting on his behalf) keep vandalising the template by overwriting it in this manner. Bad Religion is actually a hardcore punk band not a pop punk band, and they are not like Blink-182, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Sum 41 or Yellowcard, who use the pop punk genre.     Semi-protect Persistent removal of a source by IPs (almost certainly the same person), labeling it as spam. A number of editors have asked them to discuss, but they keep reverting. They used the same IP enough to get blocked for 3RR at one point; block expired, and they're back. I'd send this to WP:AN3, but they've used different IPs in the past, making me think they're on a dynamic IP and haven't figured out how to reset their connection (yet).     Subtemplates of {{Ordomag}}

    A rewrite of {{ordomag}} has made all of its subtemplates redundant. However, there are still a few other templates which transclude (one of) the subtemplates directly. I request that

    be unprotected. They are no longer a vandalism risk as there are redundant. Unprotecting them would make the task of tidying up the {{ordomag}} template subspace a lot easier once those other templates are moved over to transcluding {{ordomag}} directly.
