Message to North America

@Northamerica1000: You would probably need to keep the noedit code on the box header subpages, as many old portals tried to use noedit but couldn't when the parameter was not passed to the template. Removal would mean the reverted portals would then not be fully how they were supposed to be before they were upgraded. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 08:45, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • All right, and thanks for the heads up. Would you mind helping out in removing the G6 notices from the box header and box footer pages? It would really help out.
The G6 tag is preventing the reversion of automated portals to pre-automated versions. Due to a lack of <noinclude> markup on the pages, the deletion notice appears repeatedly on main portal pages when attempting to restore original portal content. It's clear that the community is not digging the automated versions, but many are for reverting to pre-automation versions of the portals. The presence of the tag on hundreds of pages is preventing this from occurring. North America1000 08:49, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Northamercia1000: I'm blocked and don't have AWB anymore. If you want me to help (and I have the time to help now), I would need to be unblocked and (probably) need AWB access restored. I won't be back at my computer for a few hours, but when I am I'll post here. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 09:11, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Since it's a self-requested block, you should be able to be unblocked by just about any admin, no problemo. However, since I'm involved at this point, others may possibly consider it inappropriate for me to perform the unblock. Per the rationale of Swarm at your block log, getting unblocked should be easy. Northamerica1000, all portal pages should now not have the deletion notice. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 13:55, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
All right, and thanks very much for the follow-up. There may be more if others placed them, but those can be removed as they're found. Thanks again, North America1000 21:35, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Northamerica1000, I used "What Links Here" to the deletion page. It should have (and did) catch others using my deletion notice (however, deletion notices which were created by others and did not link to my page won't have been caught (but I don't think there were any)). Request reason:

Although I am still busy IRL, I want to remove my self-requested block. This is partially due to the need for my help in the project in certain circumstances (including above), but mostly because the self requested block hasn't really helped me to focus on real life and I would prefer to be unblocked if the block hasn't helped me to keep away from wikipedia. Sorry if anyone is annoyed with how I have been indecisive on this. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:41, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Also I am coming out of retirement, because I plan to come back one day in the future to more regular editing and saying I am retired isn't right when I plan to come back. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:48, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm having problems finding some of the G6 templates for the Portal:Kylie Minogue portal. I've checked all the subpages, and subpages of those subpages, but several persist on the main portal page. Maybe you can figure it out?! North America1000 20:24, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Northamerica1000, the deletion notice was still present on the box-header subpage. I have not been able to do a run of pages with the deletion notice yet as I don't currently have permission to use AWB, but have requested it back. • Just so you know, part of this process has been reverting the portals back to versions prior to when the automation tinkering began. These portals in an automated form stand a chance to be deleted, even if previous versions exist, because I'm of the opinion that some users just don't research by looking at revision histories. It's pretty clear at MfD at this point that many people don't like automated portals. A worst case scenario is that a portal with significant curation, that is presently automated or has aspects of automation in it, will be then WP:EAGERly nominated for deletion and then deleted per a flurry of multiple "per nom" !votes, without any consideration taken regarding previous versions. So, since it sounds like you plan on helping out, what do you have in mind? Are you only going to revert the additions of the G6 tags, or are you also going to work on portal reversions? Just need to know, so I can plan accordingly. North America1000 21:09, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Northamerica1000, I can do both. I was waiting for AWB access to do the removal of the deletion notices. I am technically still busy, but a AWB run here and there isn't much to ask. I don't know really where to start with reverting automation replacement, so I won't unless there is a list of portals needing converted back into their previous formats. I can only think of using the list of all portals archive pages and looking for portals with subpages, but this may not catch all portals. In answer, I'll run with AWB every so often over portal pages linking to the deletion page and I'll do what I can in reverting portals back to the old versions. @Northamerica1000: here is the list. I used a quick and dirty python script to compare the category and the archived list. I would like to say that this will hopefully cover all portals, but there may be false positives and missed portals in this list, so it isn't comprehensive: Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 22:06, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copy/Paste

Greetings and thank you for your review. I had originally tried to edit the sf.citi wiki using my current draft copy however it was redacted and I was told to reach out to one of you for editing. So I created a draft with that same copy.

msjones (talk) 20:59, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mserikajones, if the content is the same which was removed from the article, it is a direct copy and paste from sources. This isn't allowed. If it is your own words, a report showed that several sentences were also present in their own website. I would advise that you remove anything which you have copied and pasted. Also, a AfC editor will come along soon to approve or reject the draft you have submitted. They will most likely reject it, as it is written in a promotional way. For example sf.citi helps uphold the San Francisco legacy of supporting innovative thinking and serving all San Franciscans. with the only source to their own website is very promotional. My advise is to try and write the draft in a way which is less promotional. This may mean rewriting the entire draft, but this may have to be as the draft won't be accepted in the way it is currently written. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 21:07, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is terrific additional context for me to give back to sf.citi - I'm honestly just formatting this. I'm really enjoying learning! Thank you again. msjones (talk) 21:10, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

G13

Here you replaced a G13 tag that another editor had removed with an edit summary of "still editing". I don't see how that's appropriate; could you please explain? Huon (talk) 22:07, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Huon, it's fine. I had been dealing with speedy deletion notices removed, reinstated this one, but then realised it could be removed if the editor planned to improve it. So I reverted myself. Happy editing, Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 08:06, 12 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Wikipage Approval

I have created wiki page. Please help me to approve this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Noble_Hospital_Pune — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinaybhutada1986 (talkcontribs) 10:07, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As noted by Dlohcierekim, you have not shown how the hospital is notable. Although you have added two sources, it isn't enough to show that the hospital meets our notability guidelines for organisations and companies. The main point from our guideline is A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Currently, I don't think that you have shown this. Also because the hosptial exists, does not mean that the hospital is inherently notable (so it means that you need to prove that the hosptial is notable and not that it just exists: See Our guideline on "No inherent notability"). Also you have not responded to my notice about your suspected paid editing. You need to disclose if you are being paid in any way for your contributions to the draft. Details on how you can do this are at your talk page. Please respond before making any more edits.
The page will be approved, when (and only when), you have showed that the hospital is notable. This can be done by finding more sources which are independent and reliable. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:21, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It says in the source that it is Manga Action. The source you provided above I could not translate, but could not see anything resembling monthly action. But the line in the Comic Natalie article reads "8月25日発売の月刊アクション10月号(双葉社)では [...] 中村カンコ「うちのメイドがウザすぎる!」の連載が始動する。", with 月刊アクション being Gekkan Action/Monthly Action? There's no mention of it being published in Manga Action (漫画アクション), which is a different bi-monthly magazine, at all (and the same is true on the website I linked). 82.14.209.237 (talk) 20:13, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DanDvo, unfortunately there are not many independent references in the draft. It would be good if you could find more. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 09:53, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dreamy Jazz, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately I am bit cunfused what exactly do you mean. As I understood I need to remove all direct references, is that correct? By the way have you noticed external links with intedependent articles?--DanDvo (talk) 13:03, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
DanDvo, I don't necessarily mean remove references. What I mean is that you should add references. I suggest that you use the external links which you added and are independent to reference the text of the draft in inline citations. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 17:52, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dreamy Jazz, thank you for your suggestion, I´ll do that. Please correct me if I am wrong, but in my understanding citation to his autobiography would be also appropriate, isn´t it?--DanDvo (talk) 04:16, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
DanDvo, Not necessarily. However, as long as the autobiography does not present the subject in a promotional way (i.e. the autobiography is based in fact and not in promotional guff) then it should be fine. It is, however, preferable that you use sources independent of the subject. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 08:37, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dreamy Jazz, I have made changes in the article, I was adding in citations independent sources from external links where it was possible - biography and the book The Mystery of Life. All other links are direct. I think that links in ideas and research are relevant. Any other suggestion? Thank you.--DanDvo (talk) 11:56, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
DanDvo, its looking much better now. I made a couple of copy edits. My suggestion is that if you have more suitable sources, then add them. I will look over the article now. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 20:10, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dreamy Jazz,Hello, thank you for your edits and effort to make article looks better. I may add one another interview but apart to that can you tell what else is missing? I just now did a few cosmetic changes. If there is anything else what prevents to publish this article, I would appreciate if you could tell me. --DanDvo (talk) 02:18, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Entry for Bathsculinity

Hi Dreamy Jazz,

I would be grateful if you could give me more details on why this entry was rejected? Is there anything that I can do to edit it so it will be accepted? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Caitlinmcstravick (talk) 11:04, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Caitlinmcstravick, I rejected the draft as it seemed to be a entry to a dictionary. However, you have significantly rewritten the draft, so I will re-review it. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:10, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Caitlinmcstravick, please see your talk page for the comment I have left about the draft. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:17, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dreamy Jazz Thank you ~~ mitch ~~ Mitchellhobbs (talk) 20:29, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mitchellhobbs, no problem. Well done for the draft by the way. There is one statement I have marked with {{cn}} as I couldn't see a source to support this, which is the last sentence in the article, but this is a small issue. Feel free to replace this and add the source to support this. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 20:32, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
