According to the Rock Island Preservation Commission, the daughter of the original owner attributed the house to local architect George Stauduhar. Except for some minor variations of the detailing to a Moorish Revival style, however, the house is clearly a copy of George F. Barber's Design #33 from Cottage Souvenir #2.
