January 2007

  • Reading School: (B / Low) Good start, layout, & prose. Issues with WP:MOS, needs more references, and is somewhat list heavy. Zedla 00:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Could we possibly have a second opinion on the importance assessment of this school now that a number of other schools have been assessed? I think we need to establish consistency in the importance ratings from the outset. Other schools (eg, Pinkerton Academy and Uppingham School) have been given a mid-importance rating based on their alumni and history. Reading has a very long list of alumni and a much longer history than either of these schools and surely should at least have the same mid-importance rating.
      • Based on my assessment at your request and the things you point out, Reading will get a mid-importance rating. The ratings are by no means final, meaning those who are actively looking at the article can change it at their discretion when the article reaches the necessary level of notability. Be bold in updating pages! PhoenixTwo 19:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Forest School, Walthamstow: (Start / Low) outline of a quality article. Significant work needed with pictures, references, WP:MOS, and debatable material. Zedla 00:01, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Pinkerton Academy: (B / Mid). Good, captivating start. History needs citations. Photos can perhaps be juggled around to increase stylistic appeal. Academics is a bit messy due to the list. Extra-curricular is very stub-like. Mid importance given on grounds of alumni and faculty importance. GetDownAdam 10:08, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Colégio de Aplicação da UFRJ: (Stub / low). More info on talk page. I am worried about the notorius alumni though. GetDownAdam 10:22, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

February 2007

  • Central High School (Saint Paul, Minnesota): (Start/low). Good start, has a fair number of images. Lacking information in a number of sections. PhoenixTwo 06:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • St. Joseph's College, Hong Kong (Start/mid). Prose has some issues. Given a mid importance due to the seemingly high enrollment. Some of the lists need to be converted to prose. PhoenixTwo 06:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Stonyhurst College (Start / low). One has to determine how much of this information is actually usable, and its placement within the article. PhoenixTwo 06:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Northgate High School (Walnut Creek, California) (Start / low). Has WP:MOS issues; the enrollment needs to be stated somewhere in the article as well. PhoenixTwo 06:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Uppingham School (Start / mid). Going out on a limb here and giving this a mid importance due to the good sized notable alumni list and the age of the school, but a start quality rating because the history section needs a good copyedit. PhoenixTwo 06:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Balboa High School (San Francisco) (B / low). Can't see any reason to give it a higher than low importance, but the suprisingly high number of decently formatted references and the 'attempted' peer review earns it a B. PhoenixTwo 06:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Arlington High School (LaGrange, New York) (Start / low). Not much to say here. Pretty high number of students it looks like; should be able to grab mid-importance pretty quickly. PhoenixTwo 06:30, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School (Start / low). Lacks notability; the 'Philosophy' section looks like it came straight from a website. Lacks information that is actually essential to a Wikipedia article of this type. PhoenixTwo 06:30, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Father Judge High School (Start / low). Needs a lot of work, especially in the references area. PhoenixTwo 06:30, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Emerson Preparatory School (Start / mid). Left existing mid-importance rating. Has WP:MOS issues. PhoenixTwo 00:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
  • St Crispin's School (B / low). Formatted properly, nice refernces to begin with. PhoenixTwo 00:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Wallington County Grammar School (Start / low). Missing several key sections, and others are in the wrong order. Prose looks alright. PhoenixTwo 00:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District (Start / mid). Looks like a pretty notable district within the state; gets a mid-importance rating. PhoenixTwo 00:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Archbishop Curley High School (Start / low). Unreferenced; many of the alumni listed are neglible to an encyclopedia. PhoenixTwo 20:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School (Start / mid). The lead needs to be signficantly expanded; a one sentence lead instantly warrants a start rating for me. For the amount of text, the article will need a good chunk of references, there is only one listed. I changed my original assessment of low to mid-importance, based on the signficantly high enrolment. I have no knowledge on Malaysian schools whatsoever, so if this school doesn't really have a high notability within the country, feel free to reduce it. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Queen's College, Hong Kong (Start / mid). Has some WP:MOS issues. The extensive list of "notable" alumni warrants it a mid-importance rating for the time being. Lacks references. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  • La Salle College (Start / mid). Missing a reference section entirely. Has WP:MOS issues. Another extensive list of "alumni" here, warrants a mid-importance rating. However, all of these school articles, at least within a given area, have to be written with some sort of consistency. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Diocesan Boys' School (Start / low). Like a majority of shcool articles, this is highly unreferenced, and will maintain a start rating until that issues is addressed. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Kennet Comprehensive School (Start / low). Suprised this one needs observing from an external editor, since its major problems are sufficiently outlined on the talk page. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Wescott School (Start / low). With only 150 students, and no list of "alumni", the importance rating is low. See this page for a list of sections the article is missing, once several more are added with at least a little bit of text, the article can be upgraded to B-class, as it is nicely referenced, well-written, and properly categorized. PhoenixTwo 23:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

March 2007

  • De Lisle Catholic Science College. (Stub / Mid). This page only has enough information to classify itself as a stub. The college itself is not of any especial importance. But It is the main Catholic sixth form college in northern Leicestershire.Victuallers 15:04, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chilwell School. (Start / Low). This schools page is very good it has a good description of ongoing projects as well as a dozen references and 4 external links. What it does lack is history, a logo, some photos and an info box. But there is useful advice here of how to do that. Victuallers 15:18, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Derby School (Start / High) This is a very important school as it is approximately 860 years old - it is one of the oldest in England. (It is cross referenced on the Adelphi college page in New York.) Alumini include one of england's top ten artists and a famous astronomer, however others must be missing. The page itself as being developed but could end up as a nostalgia page. The history needs more explanation. Some photos? Victuallers 15:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cheshunt School (Start / Low) Very good start class with onfo box refs etc. Low importance Victuallers 20:00, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cheltenham Ladies' College (Start / High) Very famous UK college with only a start page. This needs much more work. Victuallers 19:25, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Foremarke Hall (Start / Mid) Its a good page about the building, but less good as a school page. Maybe the building and school need different pages as the school is a relatively recent tenant of the building. The school is Repton School Preparatory which is a very reputable public school in a very impressive building. Victuallers 15:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Derby Grammar (Stub / Low ) This page is just sufficient to make it to a stub class. It tells you what is is but nothing else. Expansion required.Victuallers 15:49, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cherwell School (Start/ Low ) More than a stub, this page is moving up to be a fiorm start class. Although nothing of great note about the school ... tell me if I'm wrong Victuallers 19:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Trinity Christian School (Start/ Low )This is a good start for an article about a school and is much more than a stub. Importance has been set as low as this school seems only as important as many others. Victuallers 16:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Djanogly City Academy (Stub/ Low) This is a very basic page. However Djanogly is a well regarded City Academy and this may mean more importance. I say Low but it could be Mid. Victuallers 16:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chiswick Community School (Start/ Low) Minimum size for "start", Phil ncollins went here but otherwise not very notable. Victuallers 19:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chigwell School (Stub/ Low) More than a stub. This is a good start, but features a lot of lists. More expansion required. Victuallers 16:45, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Longslade Community College (Stub/ Low) A nice stub for a school of low importance. Victuallers 17:00, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • General Vanier Intermediate School (Start/ Low) A good start class for this school in Ontario. Nice info box and short list of alumni.Victuallers 17:20, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Strongsville High School (Start/ Low) A start article which is flagged by education and this project. Low importance. Victuallers 17:35, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Howard W. Blake High School (Start/ Low) A good start quality. Victuallers 17:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Lakeview College (Stub/ Low) This is a basic introduction to what the college is and the facilities it offers. Victuallers 17:44, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Brimington Junior School (Start/ Low) A good length, but the text is not always encyclopedic. Some improvement required but more than a stub. Victuallers 18:02, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Ashbourne (Start/ Mid) A start of a page but this school was founded in 1580. It has some importance. Victuallers 19:16, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The Nottingham Bluecoat School and Technology College (Start/ Mid) A start of a page. This school is quite old. Some of the info is in lists. The logo file needs fixing and a photo and info box. Victuallers 22:27, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cademuir International School (Start/ Mid) Not really a stub anymore, as more and more data has been collected partially because of information flow until the school closed - but it could probably grow to B if we get some final work done. Recent research is still missing in the article. This article is Mid, because there is a notable interest by former students and interested parents and so on being interested into this topic. --Lazer erazer 04:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chorister School (Stub / High) Over 500 years old ... it had Tony Blair and Rowan Atkinson as alumni. Victuallers 12:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Clark Montessori High School (Stub / Mid) This page is unloved .... hence its still a stub but it may be of mid importance to the schools project if this was the first US montessori high school. Victuallers 12:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cleeve School (Stub/ low) unloved page. Smaleest amount of info in a stub I ve seen Victuallers 13:05, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Colston's School (B/ mid) Just a B. Important school for Rugby players near Bristol in the UK. Victuallers 16:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Cleveland College of Art and Design (Start/ Mid) This is not a school but a UK college. ie for 18 to 21 year olds. Ridley scott went here Victuallers 16:35, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Christian Brothers Grammar School, Omagh (Start/ low) It could be a large stub or a small start. Victuallers 16:35, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Clifton College (B / Mid} An important school with a good B class page and impressive alumni. Started \around 1830 Victuallers 17:22, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Comprehensive School ( Start / High) Obviously a high importance for the schools project as this article would classify many schools. However its only a start class as the debate continues on the talk pages. The talk pages are of comparable length to the article. Victuallers 17:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Douglas County High School (Castle Rock, Colorado) (B / Low) Lots of little tidbits, not much flow, also very self serving (of the school) and the information is not complete. All well refferenced and organized though. Could use some NPOV ing Adam McCormick 17:39, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chace Community School (Start/Low) A good length that is being well defended from vandals. The page could do with useful contributions as at present it reads like there is\one author. Obviously well done him/her! Victuallers 17:13, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Westminster School What ?? This is identified as "one of the best" on the schools portal but has no assessment. Confusing? I have left it as (A/ High) Victuallers 19:50, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University High School (Irvine) (B) This article shows a lack of NPOV and as mentioned in one of the comments, there are a few unreasonable claims and lots of biased language. Asked for comments on School's "Importance" to the region to set importance Adam McCormick 20:10, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University High School (Los Angeles) (B/Mid) This article is well written aside from a few minor problems with pagination. It also shows good WP:NPOV and a is well refferenced. It is also includes the only information (On Wiki) about a state landmark which increases its importance. I'm nominating this For GA status. Adam McCormick 20:31, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University Liggett School (Start / Low) This site while well-written, need some work to make it more clear. Needs more content. It also needs som improvement on WP:NPOV. Adam McCormick 21:51, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University School (B / Mid) This article has lots of information about the school but reflects a biased WP:POV and needs some reorganization and some copy editing to meet Wikipedia's WP:NPOV standards. Other than that, with some minor work and editing, it would be GA quality. Adam McCormick 21:51, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
I fail to see both the B-rating and mid-importance of this article, as it has no references. I don't think they will be too difficult to find in this case. PhoenixTwo 22:53, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Well you're the expert here, I'll change it. Any more rigorous guidelines you'd like to pass along? Adam McCormick 23:29, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University Centre Oldham (Stub / Low) This article only has enough information for me to vaguely agree with the stub classification and possibly wonder whether this article should be a deletion candidate. Adam McCormick 23:17, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University High School (Tucson) (Start / Mid) While this school has a history of record scores, the article is quite shallow. It also needs more information and needs to cite its resources. Adam McCormick 23:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • University of Calcutta (Stub / High) This article is just a laundry list for the most part with a few uncites coments about the founding of the school. This is one of the largest universities in india with 100k students, so it is is Highly important that this article be improved. Adam McCormick 00:05, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Upgraded to start-class, because it has sufficent information to be as such. If those lists were converted to some sort of usable prose, it could maintain that status. The gap between start and stub is minimal, but that between start and B-class is much larger. PhoenixTwo 00:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I only wonder because it was labelled as a stub by the India project, Start is fine, but it'll need another review in the next couple weeks Adam McCormick 01:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree that this article is a B. It's well cited and concise Adam McCormick 19:51, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Pacific Collegiate School (Stub/mid) Its a stub as its very short of references and consensus. Rated as low initially.... but if there was a reference to the importance statement above that was made ny "Newsweek[1]. " then it might be mid or even high ...... late news ... did I break the prime directive? I added the reference to the article. Its now mid Victuallers 19:55, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't think there's anything wrong with making the addition, this project is about improving schools after all. Anyway, it's not as if you made it top importance or anything. I think the reference makes it at least mid importance, and the stub status is earned, it would be start with some reorganization Adam McCormick 03:29, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I would point out that importance in the US has more to do with test scores and course offerings than with age. That said, I agree with the "Top" rating given its alumni and history. I do worry about the B rating however as there are only a few references and no pictures at all. There is also some question on the WP:NPOV of the article. Adam McCormick 20:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I changed it - I see your point. However "Top" rating should have a universal meaning as related to notability ... Victuallers 20:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Lubbock High School (GA / Mid) I added the mid rating. Old for US Public, well writen and includes referenced information of encyclopedic value. Adam McCormick 20:19, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The Petersfield School (Stub / Low) Contains a mixture of information about the school but has some clear weaknesses, such as a lack of information about history and policies. More encyclopedic information and perhaps at least one picture are needed to raise this articles rating. Camaron1 | Chris20:34, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I dissagree with this assessment, I think this article only merits a stub class as it gives only one real paragraph. Needs references and a lot more content. If you have no object I will alter this rating Adam McCormick 22:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
      • I have no objection, please go ahead and alter the rating. I agree with your point. Camaron1 | Chris 22:47, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Bohunt School (Stub / Low) This article contains some useful information about a few topics including the schools language college status and its house system. To improve this article needs to be expanded and better structured with use of section headings. Camaron1 | Chris 20:53, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Again, there are no references, and not enough content here. There are also problems with WP:NPOV Adam McCormick 22:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Again, I have no objection, please go ahead and alter the rating. I agree with your point. Camaron1 | Chris 22:47, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Liss Junior School (Stub / Low) This article only includes very basic information about the school and structured in a list style. Much more encyclopedic information about this school is needed to improve its rating. Camaron1 | Chris 21:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kent College (Start / Low) Some solid work has been done but needs a lot more referenced information. Pictures would also be an improvement. Adam McCormick 22:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kent-Meridian High School (Start / Low) Some good information. Needs to reference more of its information and could use a bit more. The Notability of some of the alumni is questionable. Adam McCormick 22:32, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kenton Comprehensive School (Stub / Low) This is one of the largest schools in the UK. Needs much more referenced information, pictures, etc... Adam McCormick 02:50, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I think this article should be rated as of low importance. The number of pupils at a school has no relevance to its importance (at least as far as UK schools are concerned). This is a typical comprehensive school, like large numbers of other UK schools, with no particularly noteworthy features. Dahliarose 10:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Adam McCormick 15:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Alton College (Start / Low) This article contains a large amount of information with some structure. However, it clearly needs to be expanded with some references needed. It also needs a cleanup to fit in more with the Wikipedia house style, especially with section headings.Camaron1 | Chris 18:20, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Godalming College (Stub / Low) This article contains some information of value, including result statistics and staff information. To improve this article needs to cite its resources and include more information about other topics such as school policies. Camaron1 | Chris 18:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh now everyones joining in ... impressive alumni ... low? Victuallers 19:49, 20 March 2007 (UTC). No you're righ there is only really Ben Elton. Victuallers 19:51, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Suankularb Wittayalai School (Start/Top) Eight prime ministers and the first public secondary school in the country. Needs more refs but its a start. AND it has versions in Chinese, Thai and English. Not many schools have multilingual pages. Victuallers 21:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
  • St Vincent's College (Stub / Low) Not enough information to justify a Start rating or an importance of High, Maybe mid but nothing here indicates that. Adam McCormick 04:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The King's School, Sydney (Start / High) This article has a lot of great information but no references. Good WP:NPOV and very well written. School seems notable enough and is one of the oldest in Australia. Adam McCormick 04:27, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (Start / Low) This article needs a major trimming and reorg. Six of the ten inline references are duplicates and the reference section should be made inline. Much of the information is only of local interest. Adam McCormick 04:35, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kents Hill School (Stub / Mid) There isn't much here of interest. Basic founding info and a building list. Needs much expansion with pictures, infobox, and references. Old for the US though. Adam McCormick 05:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kesteven and Sleaford High School (Stub / Low) Two sentences with unreferenced basic location info. Hardly justifies an article. Adam McCormick 05:04, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Ketchikan High School (Stub / Low) No references, reads like WP:OR. Needs significant expansion and pictures. Adam McCormick 05:09, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kew College (Start / Low) Read like a brocure. Needs to be organized and wikified to meet wikipedia's standards. No references and needs photos too. Adam McCormick 05:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Keystone High School (LaGrange, Ohio) (Stub / Low) Brand new school. There just isn't much here (Yet another OH school). Questionable WP:Notability. Adam McCormick 05:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Keystone Oaks High School (Start / Low) Some good information but there is only one reference. Needs more referenced material, photos and cleanup. Adam McCormick 05:27, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • South Downs College (Stub / Mid) This article contains some good information and is a reasonable stub. For improvement this article needs to be expanded to include other subjects such as history and school policies. Also, editors of this article need to make sure their contributions include references and maintain a neutral point of view. Camaron1 | Chris 19:46, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Guildford College (Stub / Low) Only very basic information is included in this article with some references. To improve this article needs much more encyclopedic content on the colleges size, achievements, history and other topics. Camaron1 | Chris 19:57, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • George Abbot School (Start / Mid) Contains a variety of information about the school including subjects offered and the school house system. To improve this article needs to be expanded to include other topics and to cite its resources. Camaron1 | Chris 20:20, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Guildford County School (Start / Low) This article is well structured and contains a variety of encyclopedic information. To improve this article needs further expansion with more information such as achievements and subjects offered. A picture of the school might also be a good addition. Camaron1 | Chris 20:32, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Rogers Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts (Start /Low ) The page is well referenced and has an info box and sub sections. The history is a good start. I personally would have liked to know more about the desegregation order... it is available on line. List of staff is not very interesting. No alumni? ~More pics possibly? Stuff about the current relocation will need strong editting .. this bit is much too long.Victuallers 17:55, 22 March 2007 (UTC).
  • Guildford High School (Stub / Low) This article gives some relevant information about the school, however the topics covered are limited. To improve this article needs to be expanded, cite its resources, and remain from a neutral point of view. Camaron1 | Chris 19:47, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
  • King's College, Guildford (Stub / Low) Contains a good history of the school and plenty of basic information. To improve this article needs to be expanded into different sections with all statements cited, also a picture of some kind would be great. Camaron1 | Chris 20:03, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
  • St. Peter's School, Guildford (Stub / Low) Needs to be expanded to include other subjects such as school policies and subjects offered, as currently it only includes basic information and some history with references. Camaron1 | Chris 20:16, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Tormead School (Stub / Mid) This article contains a good amount of encyclopedic information about the school including its history and achievements. To improve editors must make sure statements are cited as necessary, and more topics are covered such as school policies and organisation. Camaron1 | Chris 20:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Antrim Grammar School (Start / Low) Some good information and good references. Needs more information so as not to reed like a brochure and WP:NPOV. Adam McCormick 21:49, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The Albany Academy (Start / Mid) Well written with lots of good information and pictures. Needs a significant amount of referencing/research and could also use some cleanup to get rid of the broken links. Easily a B if referenced. Adam McCormick 06:18, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kent School (Start / Mid) Mostly unreferenced history information. Needs significant expansion and pictures. Crowned Prince and former Sec of state as alumni. Adam McCormick 20:14, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kentwood High School (Washington) (Start / Low) Some good information but mostly unreferenced. Could use pictures/logo and more referenced material. Could also stand to be formalized. Adam McCormick 20:25, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Khaitan Public School (Stub / Low) Only some very basic information. Text doesn't agree with infobox. Needs lots of expansion with referenced information and pictures. May be higher importance. Adam McCormick 20:38, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • W. B. Ray High School (Stub / Low) This article needs extensive editing and demonstrates poor knowledge of both the demographic make-up of the high school and the surrounding neighborhoods and of the concerns, problems and/or tensions currently at issue within the school's student body. The treatment of the recent violence involving hate crimes / race issues is cursory at best, and further investigation of the matters is needed. In addition, I have doubts regarding the objectivity of the writer and was disturbed by the biased, if ignorantly so, tone that was used. Rainydayrevolution 04:00, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the assessment. However, please note that the assessment template should be placed on the articles talk page and not in the article itself, I have fixed this for you. Also, I feel that the "stub" rating given might require reviewing, after looking at the article I think it reaches the "start" category. Camaron1 | Chris 15:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Changing to (Start / Low) Some interesting information but questionable WP:POV. Could also use significant expansion, pictures, and referencing. Adam McCormick 19:27, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Caerleon Comprehensive School (Start/Low) As requested I have reassessed following request. I can see the improvements and I have moved this up to "Start". Points to mention are references ... must improve this. Statements like "best in the region" ... says who? ... as he says he needs a source. Also confused by the choice of box at the bottom as this shows education by country. I'd expect Education for that county. no Pics yet. Some of the stuff is todays news .... there is a lot about one new building. Victuallers 22:06, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Walnut Creek Middle School (Millcreek, PA) (Start / Low ) This is just a start. Content is a bit short but refs are there, info box and they have resisted the urge to namecheck the staff members or list that there is a chess club (e.g.). And the other "Walnut Creek Middle School" should make its name less ambiguous Victuallers 22:16, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The Gunnery (Start / Low) Has no references and is mostly original research. Only really list lodging and historical information. Needs significant expansion with referenced material. Adam McCormick 22:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Example of where it is important to get the category callout correct. This school was appearing under "T" so I changed it so it came out under "G" Victuallers 22:29, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Albany Academy for Girls (Stub / Low) Not sure whether this page is justified outside of The Albany Academy and The Albany Academies. Very basic information about the school and about why it is being merged. Needs significant expansion to justify a seperate page. Adam McCormick 22:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Avon Old Farms (Start / Low) Needs pics, more editors, refs. Good start Victuallers 22:39, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Bushy Hill Junior School (Stub / Low) Contains an info-box and references, but only a sentence of article text. This article needs to be expanded significantly to include more information to be more encyclopedic to readers. Camaron1 | Chris 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (A / Low) Article reached GA Status and was proposed for review by PhoenixTwo. Assessors voted that it had reached A-Class
    • In my opinion the article is very close if not a class already. I think the comments about references are mostly unfounded and the language is very well chosen. The only thing I would question would be length. If noone else disagrees though I would up the rating to A. Adam McCormick 06:32, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I cannot see an error in this at all. My only worry is "process". How many reviewwers and how much experience do we need to agree this. Or do we make the process up? Victuallers 17:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
      • There isn't really a set process for this, looks like we're the only guys having anything to do with these school assessments. It's really up to us how we go by the process, as long as we stick to the project-wide assessment scale. Thanks for the comments guys, as I'm "heavily" involved with the article I was looking for a few outside eyes. PhoenixTwo 19:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
      • I think the best Idea would be a "vote" of the dedicated assessors or that we all have to agree. Since this is so subjective I think we just need to keep to a standard of completeness and stability. Adam McCormick 20:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Have we voted? Victuallers 22:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

          • I think this article has reached GA A. I see no obvious weakness in the article and I disagree that there are gaps in references. The structure, language and pictures seem well designed and all major topics are covered well. Camaron1 | Chris 20:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
            • Thanks for the review/upgrade guys. I'm working hard to get some more historical and athletic information, as well as provincial context. I'll be sure to drop a line here before any FAC nomination. PhoenixTwo 02:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School (Start / High) Just a few paragraphs of unreferenced material. Needs pictures and significant expansion. (Encarta Article) Adam McCormick 16:27, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Harrow School (Start / Top) Needs some major cleanup, references, and work on WP:NPOV to be a B class article. Coukd also use some trimming of trivial information. (Encarta Article) Adam McCormick 16:37, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I've upgraded Harrow to top importance. It must be one of the best-known schools in the world (far better known than some of the existing schools which are rated as of top importance) and it has a large number of notable alumni including a number of British prime ministers. It is also the only school apart from Eton to be included in two major encylopaedias (Encarta and Encylcopaedia Britannica). Dahliarose 08:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Got to agree. One of the UKPMs was Winston Churchill Victuallers 18:09, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
      • I think we need to establish what is meant by "Top" Priority. I've just had a look at all 14 top rated articles (And found one rated top mistakenly). I think top priority needs to reflect fundamental importance to the encyclopedia, not just extreme notability. That said, I agree that having lots of important alumni (Prime Ministers, crowned princes/princesses, Monarchs, Presidents, etc...) should merit high/top importance. It just seems like these importance measurements should be in terms of how critical it is that the project should put its focus on a given article. Adam McCormick 06:38, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
        • I agree with Adam that although alumni is important, other factors such as size and status needs to be taken into account as well. I have mixed views on if this should be a "high" or "top" article, overall I think it does reach "top" status. Camaron1 | Chris18:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Marlborough College (Start / High) A bit of good information but all unreferenced. Alumni list is also a bit excessive. Could use reorganization and expansion. (Encarta Article) Adam McCormick 19:19, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Westminster School (Start / High) This article doesn't have enough references to be a B article. It also needs work on WP:NPOV and significant trimming (Particularly the customs and jargon sections.) (Encarta Article)
  • Kemps Landing Magnet School (Start / low) Lots of good information but a distinct lack of references. Also has some informal language and WP:POV. Needs some expansion with referenced material and pictures. Adam McCormick 01:29, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kiama High School (Start / Low) No references or pictures. Needs significant work expansion and reorganization. Should also be changed to a school infobox rather than a company. Adam McCormick 01:32, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kiangsu-Chekiang College (Shatin) (Start / Low) Needs significant expansion with references. Single sentence paragraphs should be condensed and should be generally Wikified. Facilities list should be tabulated, and a few pictures couldn't hurt. Adam McCormick 01:38, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kidbrooke School (Stub / Low) Mostly trivial information with no references. Could use pictures, an infobox, citations, and some research. Adam McCormick 01:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kidd Elementary School (Stub / Low) Just some unreferenced basic directory information with unchecked vandalism. Hardly justifies an article. Adam McCormick 01:46, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kikokushijo Academy International School (Stub / Low) Unreferenced and extremely shallow amount of information. Would need significant expansion to justify an article. Adam McCormick 01:49, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kilbreda College (Start / Low) Information should be referenced inline and Lists should be condensed. Some of the pictures are also a bit random. Could use some cleaning up and reorganization. Adam McCormick 01:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kilgraston School (Stub / Low) This is just some very basic information in a few unreferenced sentences. Adam McCormick 01:59, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Kilkeel High School (Stub / Low) One unreferenced sentence of directory information does not an article make. Adam McCormick 02:02, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Hazel Green High School (Start / Low) Some good referenced information, but needs significant expansion. Lists should be condensed/trimmed. Pictures would also be a good addition. Course offerrings, demographics, and notable alumni would be good as well. Adam McCormick 06:54, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Guildford Grove School (Stub / Low) A good start for an article, though information given is very brief and short. More topics need to be covered such as school policies, while existing topics need to be expanded such as school history and TV show visit. Camaron1 | Chris 19:00, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Holy Trinity Junior School, Guildford (Stub / Low) This article contains very little currently apart from contact details. Hence, it clearly needs to be expanded to explain the schools status, history, achievements and other topics. Camaron1 | Chris 19:07, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Northmead Junior School (Stub / Low) This article includes a info-box and some references. To reach status "Start" or higher, this article needs to be expanded to cover more topics. Camaron1 | Chris 19:24, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Rydes Hill Preparatory School (Stub / Low) This article has some structure and goes into some detail about the schools history and status. To further improve this article must cite all of its resources whilst expanding to cover more topics such as school achievements and events. Camaron1 | Chris 19:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, Guildford (Stub / Low) Very thin. Just an infobox and a few sentences. Victuallers 19:44, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Sandfield Primary School (Stub / Low) This article contains some basic information and contact details. To improve it needs to expanded and also made clearer, as the article has appeared to contradict itself. Camaron1 | Chris 19:52, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Chengdu Shude High School (Start/Mid) I have started assessing some "foreign" schools. They seem to unfairly get threats of deletion despite frequently having well known english speaking alumni and possibly some locally famous alumni. So for example Chengdu Shude High School. more refs required to bring this to B standard. Mid as one of few schools with an English page in China. More alumni? There is an interesting question here. If a school is mega important in one country and it has a page in English then presumably that page could never be deleted.... how would we know its rating in that country? As it might be rated in Thai Victuallers 16:57, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Academia Británica Cuscatleca(Stub/Mid) A very similar evaluation of several stubs to the ones above have been done looking at one school per country including Academia Británica Cuscatleca in El Salvadore. Victuallers 17:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Queen Victoria School (Fiji) (Start/High) They are not all stubs. This article lacks refs and pics but is nt an advert and explains some interesting background. Should be a great page when finished Victuallers 17:31, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Old Mill High School (Start / Low) My reasoning is as follows: While there is a a fair amount of information, it is essentially a listing of programs, faculty, and the like. Not enough information to justify a Start rating or an importance of Mid —Preceding unsigned comment added by SkipperClipper (talkcontribs)
    • I disgree with the rating of stub. If the lists and such were condensed this would be a solid start article. There is quite a bit of content here. Plenty to justify the start rating I'm giving it. Adam McCormick 23:01, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Zahm Hall (University of Notre Dame) (Start/Mid) A good start. Needs some editing, a picture. Good list of famous "alumni." SkipperClipper 03:14, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Zamorano (Stub/Low) Contains almost no information, and is need of extensive expansion.SkipperClipper 03:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Zane Trace High School (Stub/Low) Three sentence description, one external link, and one notable alumni. Definitely needs expansion.SkipperClipper 03:31, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Xaverian College (Start/Low) Needs some work to improve its class, such as an infobox, pictures, and references. It does provide some relevant information about the school. SkipperClipper 03:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Xavier College Preparatory (Start/Low) Needs references for data presented, no picture. Has potential for more detailed sections if information is added. SkipperClipper 03:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Xavier High School (New York City) (Start / Low) A fair amount of information, and discussion regarding WP:NOR seems warranted. SkipperClipper 04:09, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
    • This article doesn't have enough referenced material for a B class. As Pheonix 2 told me when I started here, the start and GA classes are really wide where the Stub and B classes are small. Adam McCormick 04:46, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Gabriel Richard High School (Start/Low) A good start. The History section could add more information, but the list of references provides the reader with solid, verifiable information.SkipperClipper 04:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Weyfield Primary School (Stub / Low) Contains an info box and references, but needs a lot more general content and a picture would also be beneficial. Camaron1 | Chris15:33, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Worplesdon Primary School (Stub / Low) This article currently contains very little information about the school beyond the basics. To improve more content with structure is needed. Camaron1 | Chris 15:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Conifer High School (Start/Mid) Numerous broken links, but a fair amount of relevant information broekn into acceptable categories. Still needs improvement.SkipperClipper 16:22, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Mayfield School (Portsmouth) (Start / Mid) A good start for an article, contains a lot of information abouts its history. Needs an info-box, more structure and more information about the school in the present. Camaron1 | Chris 19:46, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Priory School (Portsmouth) (Start / Low) This article needs to be expanded to contain more topics, such as current school policies, and be better structured with use of section headings. An infobox and picture would also be good additions. Camaron1 | Chris 20:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • The Portsmouth Grammar School (Start / High) A strong and well structured article. However, lack of references and problems with NPOV need to be resolved for the article to get a higher rating. Also, some pictures and expansion of less detailed sections would be good. Camaron1 | Chris 20:19, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
    • I've changed this school to mid-importance as it's one of the less well-known independent schools and not known internationally like some of the other UK public schools which are currently rated as high importance (eg, the schools included in Encarta). Dahliarose 09:12, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
      • I agree that the lack of international knowledge would prevent this school getting "Top" importance. Though, I think its alumni and history are grounds to push it up to "High" importance, that school is more important than most schools which I have rated as "Mid". However, for now I will leave it as it is. Camaron1 | Chris 10:05, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
        • I think the importance ratings have to be relative. For UK schools, only Eton and Harrow are currently considered as of top importance. The high importance UK schools are ones which are included in Encarta (mostly the major public (ie fee-paying) schools) and some very ancient schools. Presumably too there needs to be some balance so that some schools from all countries are assessed as being of top and high importance so that UK and US schools don't dominate the lists. I imagine some rejigging of importance ratings will be required as the assessments proceed. Dahliarose 11:44, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
          • I agree that all schools in Encarta should be of "High" or "Top" importance, though as mentioned before, inclusion in other encyclopedias should not dictate an articles importance. Camaron1 | Chris 13:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
            • After no further reply and a more detailed look at the article, I am reverting the articles importance back to "high". Reasons in a nutshell: Long history, big alumni, school uniqueness are all factors which give it a "high" importance, though lack of mention in other encyclopedias denies it "Top" importance. Camaron1 | Chris 10:10, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Claymont Stone School (Stub / High) Its not my country, but I would suggest that IF the claims are correct then this could/should be a very important school in US history. So tell me ... is this a low stub or high? Victuallers 16:10, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Portsmouth High School (Southsea) (Stub / Low) Gives a good introduction to readers, though lacks structure and detail. More content and references, as well as an infobox, are needed to improve this article. Camaron1 | Chris 17:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Four Marks C.E. Primary School (Start / Low) A good "Start" article with some useful encyclopedic information. To improve some sections need to be expanded on and should not just be lists, and more topics need to be covered such as school history. An infobox, some pictures and more references would also improve the article. Camaron1 | Chris 15:39, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Hampton School (Start / High) Its a nice looking page for a 16th century school. The history is very brief and covers 400 plus years very quickly. The alumni list is impressive, but some of the blue links should be red as they lead to someone else with the same name. Pictures are always a good addition. With referencess and some tidying then a B is easy and I would estimate that there should be much more to tell. I have made it High as several of the alumni would be known internationally e.g. Brian May Victuallers 11:06, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Horndean Technology College (Start / Low) A good "Start" article with a variety of well structured information about the school. To improve the article needs to be expanded to talk about other topics, such as the schools uniform, as well as improve the detail of existing topics such as the Ofsted report, rather than just giving links. This article also needs to cite all of its controversial statements to references and be checked for grammar errors and sections not following Wikipedia's style policies. • St. Anne's-Belfield School (Stub /mid ).The page is a fair length but contains contradictions which puts into question all other information. Should be rated as low but investigation of the web site reveals that it will not be of low importance. Victuallers 15:31, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Jesuit High School (New Orleans) (Sart /mid ).Mid importance as alumni list good. Adding more in-line refs would get this a B. More pics? Victuallers 16:46, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Clonkeen College (Start /Mid ) This as requested. Its a second assessment. The first weas very brisk. A more detailed look. Still a good page .. hence the "start" classification. To go further you must have references and citations. Some aspects of the page are not very interesting. If you didn't teach maths and english then that would be interesting, but a list of the standard subjects tells you very little. Very good that you don't boast. In summary. Some more textual topics, references please, pictures would be good. Victuallers 17:09, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Mater Academy Charter High School (Start / Low) A strong "Start" article, very close to B class. It is referenced and talks about a variety of topics - to improve it needs to be expand to cover more topics in more detail. Camaron1 | Chris 19:30, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

    • (Start / low) Just a couple of paragraphs about interhouse rivaries and such. Unreferenced and hardly of encyclopedic merit. Needs a lot of work and most of what is here should be cut. Adam McCormick 06:22, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Louisville Male High School (Start / High ) Has alumni but only recent ones. This is a very old school (but no ref for their claim). References would get this a B, completing the alumni with refs would improve too. Victuallers 12:01, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

  • The Bromfield School (Stub /Low) Nothing particularly important about this school, and it only has two paragraphs. Needs expansion; I added an infobox. --Michael WhiteT·C 23:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School (Start / Mid) - The article has undergone many changes since I rated it. Looks fine now, it can be changed to a B/mid. I find too many people overestimating the finality of these ratings; if anything, start-class ratings are meant to 'motivate' people to add material, which was done. -Phoenix 01:27, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Westfield High School (Fairfax County, Virginia) (B / High) This one has jumped the queue... I must compliment the editor of this page. The page is still clearly about the school and not about recent events. I have given it a B based on the good references. The alumni list sometimes contains explanations of who they are. However one goes on much too long - if he is that interesting then he would have his own page. I have set this as high as I expect this school will receive a lot of attention. Thanks for submitting. This page needs to be reassessed in a year or so (at least) when its importance will be clearer. Some of the lists are ephemeral (ie will anyone be interested in a few years time). Thank you to Phoenix2 (I though there was going to be a day without an assessment). Victuallers 07:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Great Neck Village School (Start / Low) A good "Start" article with some length, references, an infobox and a picture. Needs to to be expanded to go into more detail - such as the creation of more detailed section on the school curriculum. I do also think that the splitting of the introduction section needs to be considered. Camaron1 | Chris 19:55, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Great Neck South High School (Start / Mid) Contains plenty of content, but reference issues need to be resolved. The article also needs some expansion with more detail needed on topics like the school curriculum. Camaron1 | Chris 20:06, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Great Neck North High School (Start / Mid) This article talks about a variety of topics with some references. To improve, more references are needed and some sections which are currently just lists need to contain more detail in paragraphs. Also, a picture on what the school looks like today would be a good addition. Camaron1 | Chris 20:18, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Perins School (Start / Mid) This article contains some encyclopedic information with limited references. To improve this article needs to be split into sections so it is written less like an essay, and checked so it meets the Wikipedia Manual of Style. More references are also needed and it would be good if the logo was merged into an infobox. Camaron1 | Chris 20:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
  • University High School (Los Angeles, California) (GA review) Alright, so this article has come a long way since I reviewed it last. The Alumni list could stand to be trimmed and several of the sections could be expanded. I'd still say GA would be warranted. Adam McCormick 05:12, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
    • I don't think this article is ready for GA status yet as it does not yet provide all the information a reader might want to know about the school. The history section needs expansion. Sections should be added about the school's curriculum and extra-curricular activities. The infobox should be expanded to provide basic statistics such as the number of children at the school and the ages of the children at the school. The alumni list might be best moved to a separate page. Dahliarose 10:07, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
      • The mysteriously missing infobox has been restored and I've added some additional stuff to it as well. Dahliarose--can you link to an article that would be a good example of what I should be looking to do in re curriculum?Miss Mondegreen Talk   11:00, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
        • Click on the links higher up this page for articles assessed by quality and look at the featured articles and good articles (there aren't that many!). American schools tend to have a section called "Academics" for the curriculum section, whereas UK schools use the word "Curriculum" (in the UK academics are people!). Dahliarose 11:59, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
          • Lethbridge_Collegiate_Institute is an A class article and gives a good example on what can be looked for in a section on the curriculum and extra-circular activities, I agree that this topic needs more in that field. Overall however I think this topic is close to GA class and could become it easily with the suggested additions. Camaron1 | Chris 19:50, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
            • I went quickly through the article this morning and found a few wording errors - which I just corrected - there may be others). I'm presuming this is a "top" importance as the alumni are very impressive. The article is interesting, but I suspect the wording could be improved further. The article would be on the short side (I suspect) for a GA. I would weakly vote to decline a GA and ask for the article to be represented asap with the points above addressedVictuallers 22:12, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
              • I'm worried about the alumni actually. The school is touted for the impressive alumni, and every time I search anywhere I find more and more--I knew that the list on the article was incomplete, but I have a feeling that it's not even half. I'm going to work tomorrow, hmm, it already is tomorrow and see if I can't take care of some of the stuff people have brought up (and see if I can't stop by the school, at least for photos). I've also asked wikiprojects california and southern california to wiegh in (though I haven't heard from them), and hopefully, at the least this peer review will help me get a really good to-do list in order for when I go after literally dusty old tomes. Miss Mondegreen Talk   14:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
  • East Grand Rapids High School (Start/Mid) As for how it looks... I'd say halfway between stub and start. Some history or notable alumni would help. I added a ref for them - George W visited this week and they have no photo or link to what he said! However chat on talk page shows they have a team of editors. A start may be premature ... • Oaklands Community School (Stub / Low) A good start for an article, well referenced and includes an infobox. To improve this article needs to be expanded and divided into sections such as uniform, history etc with more references. The article would also look better visually if it had the school logo in the infobox. Camaron1 | Chris 17:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Peter Symonds College (Start / Mid) A good article with plenty of information on the school provided. However, this article still needs to cover topics apart from history in more detail - such as current policies and uniform. An infobox with the logo integrated into it and perhaps more supporting pictures would also be a valid improvement. Though, the biggest weakness of this article is its lack of references, these need to be added or the factual accuracy of this article is disputable. Camaron1 | Chris 18:16, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology (Start /mid ) I have put some minor comments on the schools talk page. I think this is mid as the school is intended to be for the whole of the state. It would be useful to have a clear ref for this claim. If some stuff on the educational theory that gave rise to this school then that would be useful too. Who made this investment and why? You have some refs... if you can add further refs and extend the number of topics then a B is possible. Some pictures would brighten up the article. Victuallers 20:32, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Trinity Grammar School (New South Wales) (Start /mid ) This is a very well made page. Particularly impressed by the well referenced alumni page. If they could get the main page to be similarly well referenced with 3rd party sources then it would be a B. Victuallers 08:38, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Fairview High School (Boulder) (Start / Low) Very biased and in need of a lot of cleanup. Lots of WP:POV material and no references despite some highly debatable claims. Pictures are too large. Adam McCormick 01:33, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin (Start / Mid) More topics and references to expand this. Japanese school in article in good English. There are few pages like this so this is rated as mid importance. We need more examples of non US/UK schools Victuallers 10:09, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Galatasaray Lisesi (Start / Top) This school has about 8 or 9 heads of state and 500 years plus of history. The page is available on four languages but English is the lead page. A very attractive page which has excellent reffing on the alumni but not on the main article. Hence its only a start but we need this to be a GA or better Victuallers 10:09, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Sylvan Hills High School (Start / Mid) A reasonable article with some references and a few sections. However, for this article to really reach "B" class it would need many of these section expanded and fully referenced. Also some picture would help. Camaron1 | Chris 19:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Brisbane Boys' College (B / Mid) A good article with a high level of encyclopedic content. However it does have some weaknesses; many sections lack references and others need expanding, such as "Cultural". Some extra pictures would also be great. Camaron1 | Chris 20:08, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Launceston Church Grammar School (Start / High) Nice start page. Alumni good and referenced. One former PM gets a "high" importance. Next obvious improvement is to extend the number of topics and the referencing. This together with some photos would raise from a "start" to a "B". Victuallers 14:06, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
  • East High School (Denver, Colorado) (Start / High) Nice start page. More sub topics would be good. Alumni very impressive so high importance which means please try and add some references so this can be a great article on an important page. Victuallers 14:26, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Cantell Secondary School (Start / Low) A lengthy article with a lot of potential to reach "GA" class. Unfortunately, the article currently looks like an essay and needs to be split into multiple sections with repetitive content cleaned up. Some sections of this article also seem to be opinion based and lack references, creating possible NPOV issues. Camaron1 | Chris 18:21, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Olney Independent School District and Megargel Independent School District (Stub / Low) I placed these two articles together here because the Megargel ISD merged with the Olney ISD. The "History" sections both describe the same event. There are several sources documenting the consolidation (which is good), but perhaps a single article for both school districts would be better? Sully 03:49, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Stuart Hall High School (Stub / Low) This article is quite short and leaves out much information. However, since there are no notable graduates since the school is only six years old, it is of low importance. GreaterWikiholic 01:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Azabu High School (Start / high) Main priority is an info box and gathering references to defend claims. Alumni list is useful, but is probably not complete and is not referenced. Photo gallery would be a nice addition. We need a good Japanese school like this one. One Prime minister and various ministers Victuallers 15:07, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Auburn High School (B / Mid) Fairly important alumni and a well-written and referenced article, might even be GA. Needs a little work on WP:NPOV and may need some trimming. Adam McCormick 22:40, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree.. its either a GA or very close Victuallers 18:04, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
I would consider this a strong B+. A little reviewing and NPOV resolving and I would consider it GA. Camaron1 | Chris 19:09, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Cathedral School for Boys (Start / Low) It has little information and can use much more. It is not a stub, for it gives a general idea of the subject. It is of low importance. GreaterWikiholic 01:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Trinity High School (Euless, Texas) (B / Low) A very well referenced site - so B. Its short on photos. I think this site should add a few pictures and then submit itself for Peer review on its way to GA status. Needs some tidying up to control a bit of formatting. Victuallers 12:22, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Durham School of the Arts (Start / Mid) Requested assessment. This is a good start. Lacks pictures. Refs added during assessment so active editing. No alumni listed. One claim to fame is the 2005 story which is good. But more history? A picture of the production/ protest would be good. Start could be a "B". Mid is only just.... tell us more Victuallers 11:59, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Prince of Wales Secondary School (Start / High) Requested assessment. This is a good start. Lacks pictures, but no references. Needs more editting. One prime minister gets this a high, but needs more alumni listed. Another that may be B'able Victuallers 12:43, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (B / Low) Well referenced, all debatable claims are attributed and the prose is fairly formal. Lists could be somewhat condensed and tabulated. One of the best School district articles I've seen. Might be GA. Adam McCormick 02:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Same editor has two school articles of very high quality. Dahliarose has just assessed one as a B. If this editor has the time or assistants then wiki could have a very good district as an example to others.
  • Wilson's School (B../High) Internationally famous alumni at old school with well referenced and illustrated article supported by active editing team. I think this is a GA or at least "a contender". Victuallers 09:21, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Surbiton High School (Stub / Low) Not much here, no references, and WP:POV issues. Needs a lot of work Adam McCormick 01:41, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Evergreen Valley High School (Start / High) This article has a good start, but some sections need expanding/revising. More sections should be added. History is a bit biased. Alex17 2007USA 01:15, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

  • The Skinners' School (B/Mid) Substantial additions and reorganisation justifies grade increase from Start to B. Needs photographs and a more detailed history. McKDandy 15:30, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
The school has improved since I saw it last, but has still not made B grade. It is essential that B grade articles have in line referencing. Look at other B classified schools to see how it is done. Victuallers 23:34, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
In addition the inclusion of the lyrics to the school song is a potential copyright violation. Dahliarose 10:30, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
The song is over 100 years old, which I believe takes it out of copyright? McKDandy 11:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
100 years ... good, jusr record it (with a ref?). In Europe its 70 years, so OK Victuallers 12:21, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Copyright is determined not by the date on which the song was written but on the date of death of the artist. Copyright normally expires (in Europe anyway) 70 years after the death of the person who wrote the lyrics. Unless all the lyricists died before 1937 the lyrics are still in copyright and should not be published on Wikipedia. SeeWikipedia:Copyrights Dahliarose 23:37, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
It may also be that the lyricist is not the owner of the work any longer or that it was released into the public domain, The point is that you need to prove this using reliable sources (because otherwise even the age is WP:OR) or remove the lyrics completely (Just as we would for a picture that isn't free/Fair use) Adam McCormick 04:43, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
The Old Skinners Society contains the song in full on their website, there is also no mention of copyright. Does this help? --McKDandy 10:44, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
The Old Skinners' Society might well be using the song on their website without having any idea as to its copyright status. Wikipedia articles can be freely reproduced and distributed so it's important to ensure that there are no copyright infringements, especially if you want to get the article to Good Article or Featured Article status. • Tonbridge School (B/Mid) A lot of information but still a lot more to go, especially for such an important school with long standing history. —Preceding unsigned comment added by McKDandy (talkcontribs)
    • Two things: first is that you really should sign your assessments so that it's easy for a school to talk to you if they need advice. Second, this article has one recerence, no pictures and it's alumni list is longer that the page, it's very much a Start-class article. Feel free to look a bit higher on this page and at Category:B-Class School Articles for a better idea of what makes an article a B Adam McCormick 20:53, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Sorry! Seems I was over zealous. I'm new to all this and will be more careful in future. --McKDandy 21:27, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School (Stub/Low)Needs a lot of work

—Preceding unsigned comment added by McKDandy (talkcontribs)

Well done ... worried we are citicising too much. This is a good call. May be mid when they document all their alumni. Pretty page, but empty. Victuallers 12:21, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Maidstone Grammar School for Girls (Start / Low) Requested. A good start but not much here and no references. Infobox needs info, and pictures would be a good addition as well Adam McCormick 17:19, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Little Flower School Jamshedpur (Start / Low) Requested. Informal and WP:POV tone throughout article and no references for what seem to be debatable claims. Infobox and article at large need expansion. Adam McCormick 17:25, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
  • East Barnet School (Start / Low) Requested. No references, lots of WP:LOCAL information. One-sentence paragraphs need to be expanded individually or condensed. Tone is WP:POV and needs to be formalized. Pictures and an infobox would round out the article nicely. Adam McCormick 17:33, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Forest Hill School (Start / Low) Requested. A fair article with some good references. Needs formalizing and some work on WP:NPOV. Could also use pictures and information on alumni. Adam McCormick 17:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Uppingham School (Start / high) Increasing importance from mid to high. School is very old (c.400 years), has many famous alumni and is certainly as notable as many High-Importance schools. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chgallen (talkcontribs)
I think this school should remain as mid-importance. It's not one of the better known English public schools and 400 years is not particularly old for an English school. Dahliarose 21:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Certainly it isn't the top end of high, but when you browse through the "high" importance schools you see loads that aren't as well know as Uppingham and it's certainly much more important than the majority of mid schools. It's got numerous famous alumni with wikipedia articles (Jonathan Agnew, Stephen Fry, Rick Stein, etc.) and is supposed to have largest playing fields in the country. It's pretty well know for churning out musicians, and it's very famous where I live (admittedly in the adjacent county). If the importance scale is comparative, then within schools I think it should be "high". Well, that was my reasoning anyway. If I've made a mistake, then by all means change it back. (chgallen 22:40, 8 June 2007 (UTC))
The importance ratings will eventually change over time. Some schools won't necessarily have explained their importance in the articles. There might well be schools ranked as high which should be downgraded. If you find any please let us know and we can change them. Uppingham School seems to be one of the original 25 schools in the Boarding Schools Handbook as shown on the Independent school (UK) page so perhaps the high importance rating is justified. The alumni you quote are fairly minor on an international scale. Dahliarose 16:23, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I see your points about the alumni not being internationally renowned, but they're pretty big in the UK and there are many others that the three I picked. I think that its fairly likely that a reader would come across the artice for the school compared to other schools, so I just thought it might justify a higher rating... but if you really disagree then I won't have any objections to your demoting it again. I certainly didn't mean to say that many high importance articles needed downgrading - just that I thought Uppingham was the equal of them. (chgallen 16:57, 9 June 2007 (UTC))
I probably didn't explain myself properly but having look at the article again I've changed my mind and now agree that Uppingham School should be high importance. Don't be afraid to recommend articles for downgrading. There are probably quite a few anomalies in the assessments at present which haven't yet been picked up. Dahliarose 17:52, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

June 2007

  • Harris City Technology College (Start / mid) Requested. A fair article but only one (self) reference. Just a start and mid because of the CTC link but requires lore topics, pictures and references. Victuallers 14:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
  • The Southport School (Start/ High) A good page ... some refs. nearly a B. One prime minister etc in alumni Victuallers 19:00, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Bradford Grammar School (Start / High) Important school. Good start, but a way to go Victuallers 09:01, 5 June 2007 (UTC) see below Victuallers 18:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Whitgift School (Start / Low) - Many paragraphs could use expansion and the tone should be formalized. Pictures would make a good addition and the alumni list needs to be cleaned up. Adam McCormick 01:25, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Disagree. A handful of lords & judges. National rated comedian. International voice actor. A padre they make films about - must be mid. Victuallers 09:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I agree with Victuallers that Whitgift School should be mid importance and I have changed the rating accordingly. Dahliarose 17:53, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Nottingham High School (Start/high) Nearly a B but no refs. High as alumni and age although they had missed a gupowder plotter (on purpose? :-) ) Victuallers 09:31, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
  • University College School (Start/High) Its a B but no refs. GA in reach. Impressive alumni so high ... could be top. Victuallers 14:42, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Bradford Grammar School (B / High) Important school. THey have added a good number of refs .... GA is in sight Victuallers 18:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • School for the Talented & Gifted (B / Mid) I would consider this a reasonable B class article with GA in sight with many improvements. Needs to be fully referenced with many sections expanded and cleaned to meet quality standards. More pictures on things like the campus would also be nice. Already marked as Mid importance, seems accurate given the schools media coverage and achievement. Camaron1 | Chris 13:49, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Prospect High School (Illinois) (B / Mid) My comments are that it is a reasonably well written article with much information and some sections well referenced. To improve the references need to be re-organised so they all clearly verify individual sections of text in the references section. More pictures to illustrate the article would also be good. Marking as Mid importance for alumni and media attention. Camaron1 | Chris 14:22, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (B / High) This is a strong article which should now be considered close, if not already at GA class - a peer review will be required to take the article to this higher rating. This article is well referenced with no obvious weaknesses. I have changed the importance to high due to the extensive history of the school and large amount of alumni. Camaron1 | Chris 16:36, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
This article is now been considered for GA class or better with a peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review/Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Camaron1 | Chris 11:48, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't think this article should be higher than a B at present. There are far too many lists and there is far too much trivial information. The facilities section should be trimmed and put into a proper prose format (we really don't need to know the name of every single building in the school). The school uniform seems quite distinctive so probably should have a brief mention but not in such minute detail as it's of no interest to anyone outside the school. The article also seems to be missing any sort of curriculum section so the reader has no idea of what actually goes on in the school. Dahliarose 13:31, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I have added your feedback to the peer review so other users can see it easily. Camaron1 | Chris 14:21, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

July 2007

  • Durham School of the Arts (B/Mid) Requested. Significantly improved. Still needs some cleanup and reorganization. More pictures would also be beneficial. Adam McCormick 00:10, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Harris Academy Merton (Start / Low) Requested. A good start and fairly well referenced. Needs expansion with more referenced material and pictures. Adam McCormick 00:21, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
  • School (Start / Top) This is possibly the most important article for this project, so I am giving it top importance. Needs a lot of work with improved referencing and NPOV issues resolved. Some sections like "School health services" need to be summarised and others like "Schools in popular culture" expanded. Camaron1 | Chris 12:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
  • The McCallie School (B / Low) References need cleanup, Athletics section is excessive. Needs some trimming. Also added move tag Adam McCormick 22:42, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Harris Academy Bermondsey (Start / Low) Its a start. No refs. Starting to list. Much more required... refs are essential. Suggest looking at other B school articles. Victuallers 22:56, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Blind Brook High School (Start / Low) Requested. Very close to a B. History needs to be referenced. Extracurricular section needs condensing and referencing. Entire areticle could use some cleaning up, (various lists and bullets need to be removed. Pictures would also be a good addition. Adam McCormick 18:14, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Bishop Cotton School (Start/High) Good start, too many lists, no pictures, no references but high importance. Are they one of the oldest schools in Asia? Have you looked at schools in Turkey? Also think there is more than one Bishop Cotton School (eg Puna) so consider changing file name to "Bishop Cotton School, Shimla" as its gets more difficult the longer you leave it. Victuallers 19:45, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
  • St Faith's School (Start / Low) Requested. No references, needs a lot of general expansion with pictures. Expand the history, put more information about Co-Curriculars. The most pressing need is referenced information. Adam McCormick 18:25, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Sung Siew (Start / Low) Requested. No references. Some good information but needs some cleanup and a bit of expansion. Great pictures. Adam McCormick 15:33, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
  • International Academy (Start /High ) request. Well ... Sections with no refs highlighted already. Also notable for its lack of pictures. Some good stuff, but do they really need to wikilink French? Not really interested in what this school does that every school does but what it doesnt or does in a different way. References should be third party - I would expect 20 or 30 especially when you link your Alumni??. This is an important school. May be top. Deserves an article like the one they are developing. Refs, Pics, Alumni Victuallers 14:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Gan Eng Seng School ( B / Mid ) requested. references good ... more!, The pictures look very good. I have moved this to a "B" Problems I see are that there is freqiently a pro-school view. This is meant to be balanced. However they do offer evidence to support this view. Sometimes it is overlong. Try and remove trivia and things that are not of interest to people outside the school. Check capital letters ..its school not School. Importance - may be high/top if you can get a reference for your claim of "one of the top schools" Victuallers 13:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Saint Ignatius High School (Cleveland, Ohio) (B/mid) Good quality. Copyright issues with songs Victuallers 10:40, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Sutton Grammar School (Start / Mid) Requested. Still a Start for lack of references and some problems with formal tome and WP:POV. Needs some cleanup as well. Adam McCormick 18:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Delbarton School (B/Mid) Could do with pics, but otherwise done well. Victuallers 11:00, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Bellarmine College Preparatory (B/Mid) Could do with more pics and tidy alumni, but otherwise done well.Victuallers 14:44, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Berkhamsted Collegiate School (B/High) Very good page. Like to have seen some negative info as well for balance. Impressive alumni. 1500s school. Victuallers 14:56, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
  • King Edward VI Grammar School (Chelmsford) (Start / Low) Well-written and clean but still needs expansion. Only one independent reference. Still needs work. Adam McCormick 22:00, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Valley Gardens Middle School (Start / low) Much improvement, references need to be made inline and a references section added. Also needs pictures. Adam McCormick 22:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Beverly Hills High School (B/Mid) Very good page. With interesting bit about thir oilwell. Refs are in line but not using Ref tag. Alumni need reffing - could be High Victuallers 19:18, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Bergen County Academies (B/High) Requested assessment. Could do with more pics, but otherwise done well. Alumni list is short. Victuallers 19:29, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Anglo Colombian School (Start/High) Its high cos few schools on wiki from Comumbia and this has some international alumni. Victuallers 10:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

August 2007

  • Bath Consolidated School (Start / High) This is potentially quite an important article for the project. For "B" class the article needs more information on the school pre-disaster and more on what happened after - does this school exist today? Camaron1 | Chris 16:03, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Pantglas Junior School (Start / High) Quite an important article for the project given the disaster that happened to it. More information is needed on the school itself - such as curriculum, campus and more history details. Camaron1 | Chris 16:03, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Bishop Wordsworth's School (B / High) The infobox is not done using a standard box and you references do not use the ref tag. However if someone corrects this then the article could go into the top 100. Victuallers 13:58, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
  • West Genesee High School (Start / Low) There are hardly any source citations, but what few citations there are do not use the ref tag. The article reads like a series of lists, and would greatly benefit from a more encyclopedic narrative and better consideration of how the article is wikified. Sinisterminister 05:50, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Shanghai Foreign Language School (Start/mid) One of the better-written Chinese school articles. Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Chongqing Nankai Middle School (Stub/mid) Nice pics. Close to a start. Claims to be "one of the most famous secondary schools in China, known for its long history, facility and quality of teaching" and has a long list of red-linked alumni, but no references to back up claims. If claims are true probably high or top importance. Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Jiangyan High School (Stub/mid) A good start but the English needs a lot of work hence the stub rating rather than start class. This seems like a potentially very important school. Please tell us more. Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Pui Ching Middle School (Stub/mid) The first Christian school in China founded by local Christians (and not foreign missionaries). Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Xiaoshi Junior High School (Start/mid) The article would benefit from references, pics, external links and a list of notable alumni. Lots of unreferenced claims to fame. Could potentially be of greater importance. Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Yu Cai Middle School (Stub/mid) Supposedly a famous secondary school in China used to test Tao’s theories on comprehensive education. This appears to be a potentially very important school but has very little content. Higher importance rating might be necessary if more content can be provided to justify claims. Dahliarose 10:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • International School of Beijing (Start/mid). A good start. Article needs sub-headings, references and pics. Dahliarose 12:51, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Oslo katedralskole (Stub/Top) Very old Norwegian school founded in 1153 with strong academic tradition. Deserves a better article. Edvard Munch, Jostein Gardner, a Nobel prize winner and a Norwegian prime minister are amongst the alumni. Dahliarose 20:50, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Trondheim katedralskole (Stub/High) High as it is the oldest school in Norway and has lots of alumni. Needs a better article. Expansion, pics, refs. Dahliarose 11:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Debating point here is a start? Oh and I think the best school you can find in a country must top (as I would expect Wikipedia to have at least one Norwegian School article.
The Norwegian version of the article has substantially more content than the English-language and most of the alumni are blue links. The English-language version only has a short introduction and a long list of mostly red-linked alumni. I don't think it can be anything more than a stub. There are in fact three Norwegian schools of a very similar age. This one, Bergen katedralskole and Oslo katedralskole (assessed above) are all of a similar age. This school doesn't tell us very much about itself other than that it is very old so it's difficult to assess its importance. Of the three schools Oslo katedralskole is seemingly the most important as it has several internationally known alumni. I shall change the Oslo school to top so that there is one top importance Norwegian school unless anyone objects.

Dahliarose 17:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Brilliant - my point wasn't to differ from your approach. Merely a question about what we do when we have a stub but there is a Start in another language. I suspect that it has no solution and we are doing all that can be expected. Victuallers 19:06, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Boston Latin School (B/Top) Oldest school in the USA. Several presidents and founding fathers. Many house hold names as students. Near to GA and as it is top then it should be FA ASAP Victuallers 16:07, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Brighton College (Start|High) lots of alumni, but few refs. Could be a B Victuallers 23:12, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Bristol Grammar School (Start|High) lots of alumni but no refs Victuallers 21:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Primary school (Stub/high) – important topic but currently lacking in global coverage. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Elementary school (Stub/high) – important topic. Needs lots more on North American schools. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • King Edward VI Grammar School (Chelmsford) – Upgraded from low to high. High-performing English school (top 20 in league tables), long history and one of the few remaining state grammars. Article doesn't yet do it justice. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Template:Infobox UK school (template/top) – very important infobox as it is recommended for all UK state schools. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • La Salle College – Changed from B to start. Good article on a Hong Kong school. Should be a B but no refs. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Westville Boys' High School – Changed from B to start. Good article on a South African school but no refs and all seems to have been sourced from the school's website. Dahliarose 22:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
  • St Bartholomew's School (B/Mid) - Nicely referenced. History section needs expansion. Needs to focus more on the interesting things (it is the first English state school to win a polo cup) and less on the trivia. Dahliarose 14:01, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Kendrick School – Upgraded from stub/mid to stub/high – an important English state grammar school which regularly tops the league tables, but a disappointing article. Dahliarose 17:12, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
  • L. D. Bell High School (Hurst, Texas) (B/Mid) Been here before I thought ... lots of refs. Famous founder Victuallers 20:22, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
  • La Martiniere Lyon - changed from low to high importance. One of a number of schools founded by Claude Martin. All his other schools are of high or top importance. Dahliarose 09:02, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

September 2007

  • La Martiniere Lucknow (B / Top) - I am going to endorse the assessment of B / Top. This article meets a B rating with it good referencing, its coverage of a variety of topics, good illustrations and reasonable well organised layout. With a bit more work, I would now consider this article a future GA candidate. I am giving it Top importance for several reasons. The school has a large amount of notable alumni and the boys school was the only in the world to be given a battle honour. The schools history is also very extensive such as the schools involvement in the Indian rebellion of 1867. Finally, it is beneficial to have more non-US and UK school articles be given top importance to give more balance to the assessment system. Camaron1 | Chris 09:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • La Martiniere Lyon (Start / Mid) I am giving it an assessment of Start / Mid. I am upgrading the rating to Start as the article is now well established with two reasonably detailed sections. Needs an info-box, further references and more details for B class. I am giving it Mid importance for its history and been a school of the Lumiere brothers. I think this school might really deserve High importance but the current state of the article only establishes enough importance for Mid - more details on history and alumni would be good. Camaron1 | Chris 09:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • La Martiniere College (Start / Top) I am re-assessing this article for WikiProject Schools as Start / Top. I am giving it a Start as I do not think it quite meets B standards - the main issue is that it needs much more references and perhaps further expansion in sections like School Motto. I am upgrading it to Top importance as of the La Martiniere articles this is the most important - it is the foundation article of several important schools in the world (of which one has been assessed as Top) making it of special importance to the project. Compared to the subsidiary article La Martiniere Lucknow, this article probably does not yet do justice for this topic. Camaron1 | Chris 09:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • La Martiniere Calcutta (Start / High) I am going to give this article an assessment of Start / High. A well established article but it needs further references, perhaps a bit of cleanup with wikicode and layout, and little further expansion to reach B class. I am giving it High importance due to been within the top ten "most respected secondary schools" in India in 2007 as well as for its extensive alumni list - though better referencing on alumni is needed. Camaron1 | Chris 09:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dollar Academy (Start/mid). Founded in 1818 and claims to be the oldest co-educational school in Britain. Also claims to be 4th or higher in the Scottish league tables. A long list of alumni, most without Wiki articles and all unreferenced. With references it would be close to a B. Importance potentially higher if claims can be backed up by references. The article also has copyright concerns with the unreferenced reproduction of the school hymn. Dahliarose 23:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Donaldson's College (Stub/high) A good stub. High importance as it is Scotland's National School for the Deaf. Dahliarose 23:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Gordonstoun (Proposed Start/top) I think this should be top importance because of the royal alumni (six members of the current British royal family), its international reputation and its unique ethos. It already has articles in four foreign-language Wikis. It is almost a B but a little more content and a few more references are required. Assessment pending approval and not yet put on talk page. Dahliarose 23:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I don't think this is of Top importance unless you know the alumni claims are true (most are unreferenced). Otherwise, I agree per my assessment. Adam McCormick 04:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I know that the alumni claims are true as the school is often mentioned in articles about the royal family. Dahliarose 11:25, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
        • As there have been no further comments I've now added the assessment to the article and included the school on the new list of top importance articles on the WikiProject Schools page. Dahliarose 20:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • St Leonard's School (Proposed Start/mid). A good list of alumni with Wiki articles and the Sunday Times independent school of the year in 2005. An impressive list of alumni. Doesn't seem to be enough content yet to merit a B and the alumni are not well known enough to merit a high. Assessment pending approval and not yet put on talk page. Dahliarose 23:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Start/Mid is a fine rating, it doesn't have quite enough content for a B Adam McCormick 04:18, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
      • Thanks for endorsing my assessment and updating the page.
  • DeRuyter Central School Stub class, little here to get anything above start. To get there, you need an infobox, a breif history, a school logo, and info on some of the special programs the school runs. Low importance, little here to assert any notability.Twenty Years 15:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dean Close School Start class, good alumni and history sections. Needs external sources, to get to B Class, and info on any of the special programs the school runs. Low importance, little here asserting any sort of notability.Twenty Years 15:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I have re-assessed this school as (Start/mid). There is a middling size list of alumni including some notable names such as Francis Bacon (the painter) and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. The Jilly Cooper novel Wicked was also supposedly based on the school. The alumni and claims need to be referenced to keep the mid importance rating. Dahliarose 11:23, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I though we were assessing the school, not who went there. If not, then Aquinas College, Perth might aswell be High importance. Twenty Years 16:08, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
        • Alumni are usually a good indicator of a school's status as you will have seen from the earlier assessments. Aquinas College, Perth was rated before this assessment project had been established. It was rated as A/low on 2nd January 2006 by the now defunct User:Smbarnzy which I believe was you in your previous incarnation. The next day User:Gnangarra changed the rating to B/low. The article has not since been reviewed by anyone related with school assessments. Perhaps if you can comply with our requirements someone will reassess it for you as a higher importance rating is probably justified. Dahliarose 16:24, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Deanery High School Stub class, little info here, needs an infobox, pic, broken into sections - history, sport etc. Low importance, could be a candidate for deletion.Twenty Years 15:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dearborn High School Start class - has some alright sections, a little bit crufty, the sections direct the readers attention. A history section would be useful. The facts section should be merged into the article somewhere, it is a tad strange. Low importance, very little assertation of notability. Infobox needed too. Twenty Years 15:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I think I'd be inclined to give this one a stub not a start. There are lots of lists but nothing which consitutes the 'meaningful amount of good content' required for a start class. Dahliarose 16:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I've now changed this one to stub. Dahliarose 08:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Deep Run High School Start class, good picture, little bit of information, the song is a tad crufty. History information and RS are required here. Low importance, google search turned back little. Twenty Years 15:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
    • The issue on this one is not that the song is 'crufty' but that it is a potential breach of copyright. Dahliarose 16:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Blaubeuren Abbey (Start / High) - Nearly a thousand years old but not much of an article, no references Adam McCormick 02:20, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • This article is about the abbey not the school! They only tell us that the school opened in the 1800s. Unless they can tells us more about the school I think it should be stub/low for the purposes of this project.
      • As far I know, abbeys were learning institutions as well as religious communities. Regardless it has a strong history even if a bit spotty on detail. Because it's unreferenced it may only be Mid importance. What does everyone else think? Adam McCormick 19:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
        • What I'm not clear about with this one is whether the school is in the abbey or on separate premises. It says the abbey is now a 'Protestant seminary with an attached boarding school'. The building itself is undoubtedly important and there was a choir school there but I would have thought that very little, if any, material exists to expand on the early history of the school. Why not make it a mid and see if they can tell us more. Dahliarose 08:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Epsom College (B / Mid) - Low end of B. Very well referenced, some very interesting alumni, including a director of MI:6. Could benefit from some reorganization and condensing, but it is otherwise well-written. Adam McCormick 02:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Canterbury Boys' High School - Stub class, although is has a good list of alumni, the information is all stub. Needs a bit of history, infobox, sporting, academic and cultural information to get to Start class. Mid importance based on the alumni. Twenty Years 08:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • The alumni include John Howard, the current PM of Australia. I wonder if this should be high? Dahliarose 17:07, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Benton Park School - Stub class, nice sectioning, no real information here. Nice to see an infobox. Needs to add some history and the schools special stuff eg. sports and arts and some alumni for start class. Low importance for basically not asserting any. Twenty Years 08:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Bishop Barrington School - Stub, and a very solid stub at that. Needs to add history and special information to it to become start class. Low importance, little spoken here about any real notability. Twenty Years 08:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brawley Union High School - Stub, basically is all cruft, needs to be fixed up. History section would be a first priority. Low importance for basically no notability. Article may be deleted if it doesnt clean up its act. Ive done a small cleanup, help needed. Twenty Years 08:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brook Farm school - Stub, 4 lines. little more to say. Needs some history, reasons for closure, who it catered for. Low importance, seemed to do little anywhere. Could be a deletion candidate in its current state. Twenty Years 08:53, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brookmead School - Procedural stub low, no info, no assertation of notability. Cruft upon cruft. Needs a history for start class, and an infobox. Twenty Years 08:53, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • This article has basically no content whatsoever. The 'cruft upon cruft' which you removed consisted of three external links. They're hardly cruft and they might help someone to expand the article so I've reinstated them. Dahliarose 17:07, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brookwood School - Stub class, no real information, needs a bit of info on the special programs that the school offers. Removed some cruft from the article. Low importance, little assertation. Needs some notable alumni, if any. Twenty Years 08:53, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brophy College Preparatory - This article is start class, in order to get it to B Class, it needs to cite sources from outside of the schools website for all info, the alumni is good, but the other sections need to be expanded. Apart from Athletics, does the school have any other specialty programs? Mid importance given the schools status and alumni Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brown Deer High School - Stub class, little information, procedural information. The article needs to be broken up into sections; eg. history, sport, academic, arts, notable alumni etc. Low importance given the lack of notability expressed in the article. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Brownlow Integrated College - Stub class. Low importance. Procedural nomination. Needs an infobox, history section, external links and alumni. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Bruntcliffe High School - Procedural nomination, stub and low. Needs an infobox, and information from reliable sources, see Aquinas College, Perth for a look at a benchmark. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Bryanston School - Start class, has alot of good information, needs some RS to back it up. The list of alumni is v/good. Needs historical information to get to B. Mid importance given the alumni. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • There are only a few sentences of actual information here and then a list of alumni, I would have called it a stub. Trivia belongs in an infobox or a trashbin. Adam McCormick 19:35, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
      • I agree. There are lots of lists but nothing which constitutes the 'meaningful amount of good content' required for a start class. I've changed it to stub.
  • Buckingham Friends School - Stub class, alot of cruft here. Almost start class though. The general information is pretty crufty as with the philosophy. Mid importance given the uniqueness and history of the school. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Easily a start even with cruft Adam McCormick 19:42, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
      • Just about a start. Not too sure about the mid importance. Other than the age of the school (founded in 1754 – old for the US) there doesn't seem to be much to distinguish it. It is a Quaker school. Is that of any special significance or rarity in the US. The so-called 'cruft' is mostly basic information about the school which should go in the infobox. The rest needs to be put into proper sentences and formatted properly. Twenty's use of the word 'cruft' is too vague and all-embracing. He needs to be more specific. Dahliarose 20:00, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
        • There aren't many vestiges of the Quakers left in the US and this is very old for a still-functioning US school. I have no trouble with MidAdam McCormick
  • Buckhaven High School - Stub class, little information here, but has good sections, all need expanding to get to start class, close to it. Low importance, doesnt asset any major importance to education in its province. Twenty Years 12:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Scotch College, Perth. (Mid) Requested importance assessment. Already a GA. This article does not appear to have had a formal assessment by the school assessment team. It was assessed as A/low on 2nd January 2007 by User:Smbarnzy, one of the then contributors. Since then it has been promoted to GA. The article is well written with a good history section. The section on school uniform is somewhat unencyclopedic and of little interest to anyone outside the school. Some information on examination results might be useful. If the article is to maintain its GA status the referencing of the alumni needs to be sorted out as a priority. The statements that these people attended the school are not backed up by references in their Wiki articles. It would be best to add the references to the Wiki articles where appropriate and include references within the article for those people with red links. The link for reference 21 is broken. The article is somewhat light in general on references for a good article. The alumni (if proven) warrant a mid importance rating. Dahliarose 10:33, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Lanark Grammar School (Stub/mid) A school founded in 1183 should surely have a long history and many distinguished alumni other than Colin McRae but you don't tell us very much. Mid importance because of age. Come back for a re-assessment when you have more content. Dahliarose 11:58, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dalby Christian School - Stub class is because the article contains very little information, and what is there is basically copied from the schools website. Low importance, there is very little ascertation of notability. Twenty Years 15:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Dalkeith High School - Stub for basically no information. Importance is low, it appears to be very un-notable. Twenty Years 15:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Dallam School - I gave it stub for the pure lack of information. I gave it mid, its history seems to date back a long way, which appears to make it alot more important. Twenty Years 15:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Damai Secondary School - The article is start class currently. It would be B-Class if it contained some references, which is the only thing holding the article back. The school song should also be deleted, it is cruft. Low importance.Twenty Years 16:05, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Damascus College - I have cleanup some of the cruft on the article. Stub for the content which is "good" and low because of the lack of any serious notability. Twenty Years 16:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Changed to start class, per discussion.Twenty Years 12:39, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dana Hall School - Stub, alot of the information is somewhat crufty, and unencyclopedic. Low importance because it asserts little notability. Twenty Years 12:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Danestone Primary School - There is no information here at all. It needs sections to direct the readers attention, it is all over the place. Primary schools are generally NN, so low importance. Twenty Years 14:21, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Daniel Hand High School - Basically, it is full of schoolcruft. Removed some vandalism that slipped in here, and the mainpage. Low importance, little ascertation of notability, and stub class for the total lack of encyclopedic knowledge. Twenty Years 14:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Daphne High School - Good stub. has alot of basic knowledge about the article. This could be easily expanded, and its rating improved. Keep it up. Twenty Years 14:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Daramalan College - Stub for lack of overall information. Low for lack of importance. Twenty Years 14:31, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Darfield Upperwood Primary School - Start class for the small sections, with some decent sources. Low importance, primary schools are generally not notable, this one is pretty notable for a primary school. Twenty Years 14:36, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Darlington College - No real information here, no infobox. Pretty boring in reading. Low importance, no ascertation of notability. Twenty Years 14:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dartmouth High School - Article has a few good little sections, so i gave it start, also the image helped. Low importance, doesnt ascert much notability. Twenty Years 17:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Darton High School - Stub class, almost a start class, just needs a bit more information. But a solid stub. Some interesting bits of information there, but still worth a Low. Twenty Years 17:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dauntsey's School - Start class for the sheer amount of information in the article. Mid importance, the school has been around since the 1500's, big history associated to it, many notable organisations associated. Twenty Years 17:14, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Davenant Foundation School - Very good history section, loads of information, so i gave it start. Low importance, not much ascertained in the article. Twenty Years 17:17, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dawood Public School - Stub, no real information here, low importance - not much else to say. Twenty Years 02:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • De Aston School - I can see why there are notability concerns. Could be an AfD candidate. Stub for lack of overall information. Low importance, has little notability per tag and comments. Twenty Years 02:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • De Shalit High School - Stub, good information for a stub, probably near a start class article. Low importance for the schools project, nothing really going on here. Twenty Years 02:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • DeBakey High School for Health Professions - Houston WP assessed this as a B-Class article. I think its start class. There is no references, which i would consider essential for a B class article. The article isnt even nearly complete, which it should be. So start it is. Low importance, little notability. Twenty Years 02:54, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • D.T.E.A. senior secondary schools - Start class, this can be expended sinificantly, cite a few external sources. High importance given the wide nature of the topic at hand. Twenty Years 14:27, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Dallas Theological Seminary I gave it start given the content of the article, and the decent list of Alumni/staff. Low importance, there is little ascertation of notability. Twenty Years 16:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Delhi Public School Society Serious amount of work has gone into this article, it is pretty much a B-Class article, although it has no references, so it is going to be start-class. High importance has been given aswell. Twenty Years 15:47, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Bolton School (Start/mid) Requested re-assessment. I think the original assessment (start/mid) is consistent with our ratings. The high importance English schools are generally those which are already listed in Microsoft Encarta or other encyclopedias and those which have long lists of important alumni. The top 20 ranking is in fact an unreferenced claim for just one year (2004). The other unreferenced rankings in the article place it outside the top 100 in the league tables. However, the school was founded in 1516, and has a surprisingly short list of alumni for its age (only one before the twentieth century) so is potentially more important than is apparent from the present article. If the article and list of alumni could be expanded, then I suggest that the editors come back for a re-assessment. Does that seem fair? If so I will add these comments to their talk page. Dahliarose 15:48, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Wesley College, Perth (Start/mid) This article seems to have been unofficially rated by its editors back in February as a B/low for the purposes of both WikiProject Perth WikiProject Schools. I have now re-assessed it for WPSchools and am changing the rating to Start/Mid. The article has some good pictures but unfortunately there are a number of problems with the text. Most importantly the history section is in breach of copyright as it has nearly all been copied and pasted from the school's own website. There seems to be an unusual and excessive focus on the buildings of the school. The section on the building program is already out of date. The section on school facilities goes into excessive detail, and would benefit from being trimmed and written in a prose style. The section on uniform is not of any interest to anyone outside the school. The school war cry has no reference so it is not possible to establish if it is genuine, and it is also potentially in breach of copyright. Focus less on the trivia and instead write about subjects which are of interest to a wider readership. Most importantly you need references, especially for the history section and for the alumni. Ask at WP Schools if you need help. I am giving the article a mid importance rating based on the sporting alumni assuming that they can be proven with appropriate references. Dahliarose 23:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Fettes College (Start/high). An important Scottish school with a consistent top five ranking in the league tables. The alumni include Tony Blair and three senior members of the British Cabinet (Chancellors of the Exchequer and Foreign Secretaries.) A good start at referencing. Very close to a B but rather too many lists rather than prose sections. Dahliarose 09:55, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
  • George Watson's College (Start/High) A good start article. More content and references needed for a B. High importance because of the impressive alumni list which includes several leading politicians.
  • Robert Gordon's College (Start/high) An important school housed in a building designed by William Adam which was commandeered by troops during the Jacobite rising. More content and proper referencing needed to advance to a B. I would have expected more alumni for a school of this stature. Dahliarose 09:55, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Trinity College, Perth (Start/mid) A good start article with some lovely pictures. More content needed and lots of references to advance to a B. Changed to mid importance because of the sporting alumni. The alumni articles really need proper referencing to prove that they went to the school. Dahliarose 21:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Hale School. (B/High) (Requested re-assessment) This is a very good article with a well referenced history section and some good pictures. It seems to have "a majority of the material needed for a completed article" to qualify for a B rating. It could do with more information about the school's curriculum and is missing a section on extracurricular activities. With a long list of important Establishment alumni this is high importance. You need to reduce the lists and focus in particular on referencing all the alumni and the headmasters if you want to progress to good article status. Dahliarose 18:44, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Christ Church Grammar School (Start/mid) (requested assessment) A good start article. The sporting alumni merit a mid importance rating. You already know that you need to provide references. Some pics would also help. Dahliarose 20:09, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Sir John Deane's College (Start/High)This is a nice looking article whivh unlike many has a good set of references. It should therefore be a "B" article, but it lacks a large enough history section for a school that is 400+ years old. The alumni and the age... high importance. Victuallers 04:31, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Fort Street High School (Start/Mid) Requested. Some good information but minimally referenced. Alumni list is excessive but not without notability. Adam McCormick 21:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Harris Federation (List/Low) Requested. This article is little more than a list of schools in this federation and a controversy section. Adam McCormick 21:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Aquinas College, Perth (GA/High) Requested. Upgraded to High importance given alumni and general notability of the school. Adam McCormick 21:35, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Guildford Grammar School (B/Low) Requested. No change to rating. This article is on somewhat of a borderline of importance, I think it could be Mid given its fairly long history, but the alumni are somewhat lacking. Many non-trivial sources cover the school. Let me know what you all think. Adam McCormick 22:00, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I think I'd be inclined to give this one a mid-importance rating as it is one of the founder members of the Australian Public Schools Association. I gave Scotch College, Perth, another founder member with a similar alumni profile, a mid importance rating. If not, I think we'd need to downgrade Scotch to low. Don't forget too that Australian schools are quite young in comparison to those in most other English-speaking countries. Dahliarose 22:57, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Aberdeen Grammar School (Start/mid) A very old school founded c.1257. Alumni include Lord Byron but there is a surprisingly short list for such an old school. The school is probably more important than is apparent from the present article. A good start at referencing. This really should be a B but more is needed on the pre-1863 history of the school and there is rather too much trivia (school colours, etc) which needs to be cut. Dahliarose 10:48, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Christian Brothers College, Perth (start/low) Requested re-assessment. This article essentially duplicates most of the information which is already contained in the articles on the two successor schools (Aquinas and Trinity). Indeed all the CBC alumni are on the Aquinas page as are quite a few pre-1937 pictures. I've now placed comments on the talk page of the Aquinas College, Perth article. I would suggest that the contents of this article should merged with the articles on the other two schools. If the consensus is that this article should be retained then the CBC material should be transferred from the Aquinas article. I agree that there are too many unnecessary templates at the bottom of the article. A whole template for one school seems quite unjustified. Finally if this article is kept it should be renamed as Christian Brothers' College to include the missing apostrophe. In view of the duplication I think the existing start/low rating is justified. Dahliarose 21:37, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Public Schools Association (B/low) The article is very thorough and is well referenced with lots of pictures (perhaps rather too many if anything). Although the schools themselves have been given higher importance ratings I don't think this article justifies anything higher than a low importance rating. The PSA is essentially an organisation which arranges sporting competitions between seven independent schools in Western Australia. It is therefore probably only of interest to a minority readership. There is a long list of sporting alumni but they are already included in the alumni lists of the individual schools. The article title is missing an apostrophe and should be renamed Public Schools' Association. Dahliarose 22:05, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Tanjong Katong Primary School (B/mid) A rare article. A primary school, new, with somw notability.

Should be on DYK in next 5 days. See school for detail. needs photos. Excellent refs. Victuallers 10:06, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Upgraded to mid importance. We have very few schools from Trinidad and Tobago and this one has some important sporting alumni. Dahliarose 22:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
I generally agree with rating all categories and templates as NA importance, it clutters up the importance categories and the general importance criteria can not be used for non-articles. Camaron1 | Chris 20:38, 30 September 2007 (UTC) I have also taken the liberty of marking all disambiguation pages as NA importance as well - they are also the type of pages which cannot really be given an importance rating. Camaron1 | Chris 21:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Nikki for bringing this to our attention. It does make sense. I've gone back and changed a few templates that I'd previously assessed though you seem to have picked up most of them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dahliarose (talkcontribs)
  • Leon High School (stub/???) --> (start/mid) There's enough info here to be a start article. There was no importance rating, so I'm giving it a Mid based on its ranking in the Newsweek list and the alumni. Nikki311 03:55, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

October 2007

  • The Bay School of San Francisco (Start / Low) This article gives very little information to the reader and only a student would be interested in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marlith (talkcontribs)
    • Changing assessment to Start. Article needs more references and perhaps a cut down on trivial details but apart from that it is a reasonable encyclopedic article, with enough information and sections for Start class. As another suggestion - if you make any comments in an article assessment here, I would suggest you copy them over to the article talk page as well so article editors can see them. Thanks. • Lawrence School, Lovedale (start/high) I wasn't sure about the importance rating on this one, so opinions are welcome. The school is located in India, is about 150 years old, and has a pretty sizable list of notable alumni. Nikki311 16:00, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Definitely a high. The alumni aren't sourced but seem to be important.Dahliarose 09:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Lauriston Girls' School (B/mid) This is another one where I'm borderline on the importance: low/mid. There is a good list of alumni (all sourced!) and the school is over 100 years old. I ranked it as a B class because there is some good information there, and it is all sourced. I do think it is at the very low end of a B level. It would definitely need more info about the history of the school before it could ever be considered for a Good Article nomination. Opinions? Nikki311 16:00, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I would agree with the mid rating. I'm not sure if it's quite a B. The referencing is good but there's not that much content and a lot of it consists of lists. Dahliarose 09:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

The article is generally well-written and sticks to info found in its sources. NASCAR Fan24(radio me!) 22:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Fort Street High School (Start / Mid) Requested Reassessment. No change, but rejustified. Some good information. Alumni list is excessive and needs to be sourced and trimmed. Only half the references are independent. Could be a B with a bit of cleanup and further research. Adam McCormick 19:25, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Berkmar High School (start/mid) Based on large size, large student population, and diversification. It could use some alumni...I'm sure there has to be someone worthy of mentioning. Nikki311 00:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Breck School (start/mid) Based on being 120 years old and list of alumni. Nikki311 00:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Durbar High School (stub/mid) This might even be a high, but it is hard to tell because the article is so sparse. The oldest modern school in Nepal at 120 years old, and originally, only taught members of the ruling family. Nikki311 02:26, 11 October 2007 (UTC) Actually, on second thought...this probably is a high. I won't change it until I get a second opinion, though. Nikki311 02:30, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I suggest you leave it as a mid and ask them to come back for a re-assessment when they've added some more content. I expect it probably will eventually be a high. Dahliarose 08:26, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

    • Bear in mind, now that you are considered a experienced assessor, you only need to list assessments you make which are High/Top importance and/or B class. Camaron1 | Chris 18:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Calhoun Colored School (B / Mid) very quicj assess as this will soon be on the main page Victuallers 08:06, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Newington College (B / Top) - I am assessing this article for WikiProject Schools after a request. This was quite a difficult assessment, but for now giving B / High. Article clearly covers a lot with plenty of references and pictures, with no series problems I can see. This article could well become GA in the future, especially if this dispute is fully resolved; a peer review would be good to help achieve this. I am giving this article High importance for now, has a important history and no shortage of alumni; giving Top importance should also be considered. Camaron1 | Chris 11:53, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • In fact I am now giving it Top importance, seems to be in the position to be so. Camaron1 | Chris 19:00, 20 October 2007 (UTC) After doing some research, there appear to be at least three articles in a similar position for Australia, we could give them all top importance, though only one or two schools per country are generally supposed to be given top importance - one school in Australia has been agreed as top so I will leave this one as high for now. Camaron1 | Chris 16:01, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
      • Following a little discussion on the articles talk page, I am re-giving this article top importance. Camaron1 | Chris 13:38, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
        • This school has a very lengthy and impressive list of alumni, and the top importance rating is definitely justified. Dahliarose 20:54, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Maine South High School (B / High) Has plenty of content with references, meaning the article reaches a reasonable B class standard. For improvement the article needs more pictures and a school logo, plus more content in sections such as History, and references standardised to be placed in the references section. I am giving this article High importance due to its alumni, including a possible future US President and many others which are notable enough for their own articles, as well as for awards and ratings. Camaron1 | Chris 15:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Maine East High School (Start / High) Has plenty of content and a picture, but needs more references for B class, including in the history and diversity sections. A school logo, more pictures, and general further expansion would be good also. I am giving it High importance due to its large number of alumni, including a possible future US President, and others notable enough for their own articles. Camaron1 | Chris 15:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
  • St. John's College, U.S. (B/high?) This was self-assessed as a B. It started off as a school but is now a university. Has a very long history for a US school. However, there's hardly anything in the article about the school. The College is of some importance but not sure about the relevance to the school's project. Any ideas? Dahliarose 23:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Amish school shooting (Changed from B class/low to B class/high) The shooting received international coverage and is of wide interest. Dahliarose 23:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Dollar Academy Changed from mid to high importance following discussion on talk page and input from a Scottish editor. The school is the oldest co-educational school in Britain (and oldest co-ed boarding in the world). It is also one of Scotland's largest and most well-known independent schools and has an impressive alumni list. Dahliarose 23:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Hasland Junior School (B/low) Seems to have been self-assessed but the article is very comprehensive and well written and the B rating is justified. Dahliarose 23:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Sydney Grammar School - (Top/Start) I have given this article a rating of Top Importance and start class. It is nearly a B-class, it just needs some tidying up, and more references. Top importance given the extensive alumni, the history of the school, and its place in Australian education. Twenty Years 05:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Newington College - Downgraded to High importance Camaron originally assessed it as high, and i said it should be top, and he agreed to change it, upon re-thinking my position, and that only 1-2 schools in Aus should be Top importance, i think an assessment of High importance is appropriate. Twenty Years 05:05, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't think we necessarily need to restrict the numbers per country if a school is clearly of top importance based on the criteria we've been using. I'm not familiar with Australian schools and will leave the decision to our Australian editors. Another strong candidate for top importance in Australia is Scotch College, Melbourne which hasn't yet been assessed. Dahliarose 09:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
To put it into perspective, i had never heard of the school before i saw it here, im from Australia. Twenty Years 11:33, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Well as you might have guessed, I was willing to swing either way with the assessment. Since it seems to be Australian editors opinion that the school should be High, I accept it. Camaron1 | Chris 18:08, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Scotch College, Melbourne - (Start/Top) Ive assessed the article as start class, given the lack of any information on the history of the school, some sections have little/no information. Top importance, the school has an extensive alumni list, a strong history, i was tempted to give it a high importance, but the Alumni section really swayed my opinion. November 2007

  • Bangor High School (Bangor, Maine) -- (Stub/Low). Self-assessed at creation--feel free to disagree. --uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 20:35, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Verdugo Hills High School (start/High) - Rated as a high because of the alumni and large list of movies and television shows that have filmed there. Nikki311 23:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Wando High School (start/low). Requested re-assessment. A good start with lots of references. Needs Wikification, formatting, more prose and fewer lists. Not far off a B. I've kept it as low importance but it might possibly be mid importance because of the sporting achievements. Lots of American schools seem to be big on sports and I'm not sure if this school's achievements are better or worse than the average US high school. Feel free to upgrade if appropriate. Dahliarose 16:25, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Medellin National Science High School - (Stub/Low). Assessed reasonably new article. There are no references and notability is yet to be established. Much more information is needed. Cdlw93 (talk) 09:12, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

December 2007

  • Matoaca Middle School - (Start/Low). Assessed a pretty new article. There are a good amount of referenses, but not enough sections and information overall. Not small enough to be a stub, since it has about 5 sections with two to three inches of writing apiece. More info could be substantially helpful.--TheNextOneAcross (talk) 05:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Turtle Rock Elementary School - (Start/Low). Not a new article, but it seemed to be a stub. But it did have two different subheadings with minimal info in it, so I gave it a Start rating. Please feedback on this choice.--TheNextOneAcross 05:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Big Walnut High School - (Start/Low). After looking at the request and seeing the drastic changes it underwent, I was impressed. But, the article still does not have enough information and not enough SubTitles to make a B.--TheNextOneAcross (talk) 23:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Deep Run High School (B / Low) Quite a good article now with an info-box and several pictures and a sensibly good lay out. The main weakness with the article is a lack of referencing, but what has been referenced has been cited correctly. If this article is going to reach GA class much more referencing is needed, some sections are currently not referenced at all. I suggest expanding the academics section - per WP:SCH#WNTI try and convert this section into prose and put it into context of the school if possible. A section of notable alumni would also be good - I am sure there are some, just make sure this section is sourced. Finally, more pictures would help brighten up the article - in particular a picture on the logo of the school in the info-box would be wise. Keeping importance as low as not quite enough in the article as of yet suggests a higher importance. Camaron1 | Chris (talk) 15:29, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Aberdeen Grammar School (B/high) I assessed this several months ago as start/mid based on very little meaningful content. The editors have now improved the article and requested a re-assessment. It is a very old school founded in the 13th century and is one of the best-performing schools in Scotland, hence the high importance rating. Dahliarose (talk) 17:22, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
