Revision as of 11:39, 15 February 2020

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or rejected Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of pages and files which have already been deleted. If the page you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that pages deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G4, G5, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

    Instructions for special cases

The International Coronelli Society for the Study of Globes

The International Coronelli Society for Global Studies deals with globes, their history and their position in our culture. The company was formerly called the Coronelli World Federation of Friends of Globes.

The society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to maintain and promote the study of globes as a specific cartographic form of expression and also to promote research on globes and globes related instruments in their historical and socio-cultural contexts.

The society unites worldwide scientists, collectors, museum curators, restorers and dealers as well libraries and many institutions all over the world that own globes. Founded in Vienna in 1952 by enthusiasts around the Viennese private scholar and globe researcher Robert Haardt (1884-1962) as the "Coronelli World Federation of Globus Friends", it is one of the oldest societies dealing with the history of cartography and the only society dedicated to globes exclusively.

„The International Coronelli Society for the Study of Globes” is the first geographic society in the world and is based in Vienna. Her name is after the famous venetian universal scholar and famous globe maker Vincenzo Coronelli (1650–1718), the founder of the “Accademia Cosmographica degli Argonauti”.

The primary goals of the “Coronelli World Federation of Globus Friends” were to promote the work of Robert Haardt's private Globe Museum and to compile a list of all preserved old globes (i.e., manufactured before 1850).

Since 1952 “The International Coronelli Society for the Study of Globes” has published the world’s only globe-specific journal “Der Globusfreund. Wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift für Globenkunde“ (since 2002 also in an English version under the title „Globe Studies. The Journal of the International Coronelli Society”).

Until now the Society has organized fourteen international scientific symposia in various countries.

    Vivien Keszthelyi

The page was deleted on the 7th of January 2019. at 22:23 by Fastily without any discussion. There were two nominations for deletion before and both ended with "keep". The article has numerous sources to support the case that she is a living person and a professional Formula 3 driver, who has been competing in international championships. She also has a Hungarian Wikipedia page from which most of the information was translated. —Szoba2323 (talk) 14:34, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Formula 3 isn't really professional: "it is typically the first point in a driver's career at which most drivers in the series are aiming at professional careers in racing rather than being amateurs and enthusiasts. F3 is not cheap, but is regarded as a key investment in a young driver's future career." F3 drivers are not automatically presumed notable per WP:NMOTORSPORT.--kingboyk (talk) 14:41, 9 February 2020 (UTC) That's not to say she does or doesn't meet WP:GNG of course. The article can be worked on in draft space and submitted for review when ready; the reviewer will look at the references and notability. --kingboyk (talk) 14:47, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done – a deleted page with this name does not appear to exist.
All that was deleted was a redirect. The draft article still exists at Draft:Vivien Keszthelyi. kingboyk (talk) 14:43, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There's one thing I don't quite understand. @S Marshall: Why was an article which has survived at AfD moved to draft space? --kingboyk (talk) 14:53, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I refer you to my edit summary at that time, which links to the consensus to draftify the unpatrolled articles created by the content translation tool during this period. Also on that page is a good summary of the concerns and problems with the tool which informed that decision. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid it's all a bit too complex and nuanced for me to summarise succinctly here: much better to read the whole thing.—S Marshall T/C 15:33, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@S Marshall: Thanks for the reply. Your edit summary points to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/CXT/Draftification list July 2017, which seems to be just a list of articles. I looked at it prior to pinging you. I also note that the page is marked as "currently inactive and is retained for historical reference" although that happened shortly after you moved the article to draft space.
It still seems odd to me to move an article which has survived an AfD. That said, I'm happy to leave it there. I'm not the one requesting the refund. I'm here to process refund requests and in this case there's nothing to refund. --kingboyk (talk) 16:02, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake, that page has been reorganised a lot and I'm editing from a phone. WP:AN/CXT.—S Marshall T/C 16:15, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I should add that there's nothing to prevent an editor in good standing from moving that draft into mainspace if they've reviewed it and are satisfied that it's neutral, factual and encyclopaedic. In my personal opinion, to do so now would be to show rather poor editorial judgment.—S Marshall T/C 15:39, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes there can be a reason for speedy deleting an article that has passed AfD--for example, discovery of copyvio, or A10 that had not been noticed. . I am not sure there is any basis for draftifying in such a situation. The criterion for passing draft is that the article would probably pass AfD. An article that has passed AfD certain meets that criterion. The community consensus is controlling. I am moving it back, and the appropriate course if this is objected to is another afd. This is not a matter of editorial judgement: I have no personal opinion of notability , since this is not my subject field: there is nothing on the face of the article which would make it unsuitable, and there are very abundant references--although since it is not my field, I cannot really judge their reliability. It's a matter of reversing an erroneous move by BRD. I note that neither the move nor my reversal is properly speaking an admin act, but ordinary editing. However, there is also Draft:Ashkan Yeganeh, which is the same sort of autobiographical draft. I am debating whether this page should be undeleted and merged to the draft—even though in its current condition, the draft is nowhere near qualifying as an article. —C.Fred (talk) 14:30, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would offer to email the text if the editor wants it for their own personal use, but personally I wouldn't restore it. The 'article' is (whilst, I have to admit, interesting) totally unsuitable for inclusion on Wikipedia and would stand no chance whatsoever if nominated for deletion. --kingboyk (talk) 15:05, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Brown (City Year), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, RL0919 (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. kingboyk (talk) 22:55, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    |1= The Case for an Inner Twin Brain |2= On February 8, 2020 Bbb23 deleted my articles The Case for an Inner Twin Brain, citing A10: Recently created article that duplicates an existing topic: Chimera (genetics). I have tried to reason with Bbb23, but to no avail, he will not reinstate the article.

The reason given for deletion, “A10: Recently created article that duplicates an existing topic: Chimera (genetics)”, does not apply for the following reason: the article includes two actual cases that TOGETHER, give basis for the article title. The first case involves a chimera human (resulting in FRATERNAL twin absorption/merger during the early stage of their gestation); and the other involves the “IDENTICAL twin conjoining/absorption” of Tatiana and Krista Hogan whose brains are joined in such a way that they are able to read each other’s thoughts. My article stands alone in much the same way that the "true hermaphroditism" Wikipedia article stands alone from the “Chimera (genetics)” Wikipedia Article, even though true hermaphrodite’s are chimera individuals. I do understand that I am new at this and so the page lacks the polished look of most Wikipedia Articles, but the importance AND notability is obvious, that I felt confident that more experienced individuals would get on board to help with that. There is much more that I intend to add to the article that provide more proof toward “The Case for an Inner Twin Brain” if allowed the opportunity. As well, others would likely add to the article if it existed for them to do so, not to mention that it would encourage Medical Geneticists to explore this particular “twin brain” study via their conjoined twin and chimera twin patients, after all, they no doubt fear the bullies in society who would not want to face this reality (history hasn’t painted a nice picture of societies reactions to unconventional thought ie: Darwin’s theory of evolution)

I agree that “The Case for an Inner Twin Brain” can be noted in the “Chimera (Genetics)” article, as well as others ie: “Conjoined Twins”, etc. . This very important “NOTABLE” subject is virtually ignored even though the evidence is clearly there for its consideration and inclusion in Wikipedia. It is a controversial subject that a good many will not want addressed thanks to confirmation bias, and THAT, I believe is the problem now and has been the problem throughout time with introducing similar unsettling scientific truths. I decided to write the article after reading Wikipedia’s: “Wikipedia: Please do not bite the newcomers” article and this section in particular : “Remember, our motto and our invitation to the newcomer is be bold. We have a set of rules, standards, and traditions, but they must not be applied in such a way as to thwart the efforts of newcomers who take that invitation at face value. A newcomer brings a wealth of ideas, creativity and experience from other areas that, current rules and standards aside, have the potential to better our community and Wikipedia as a whole. It may be that the rules and standards need revising or expanding; perhaps what the newcomer is doing "wrong" may ultimately improve Wikipedia. Observe for a while and, if necessary, ask what the newcomer is trying to achieve before concluding that their efforts are wanting or that they are simply "wrong".”

I decided to trust Wikipedia’s motto— to be “bold”, and hope that they would stand true to their words that I DID take at “face value” — hence my Wikipedia Article. I most definitely have been thwarted!! The statements made in “Wikipedia: Please do not bite the newcomers” article gave me the courage to express and write without trepidation, and that if I was “thwarted” by those who would “bite the newcomers”, that there would be recourse for me and others who may find all the rules and regulations so daunting that we would not even attempt to move forward in any fashion let alone bold, and so limit Wikipedia to only those who have the time and/or money to learn or buy the expertise of writing a Wikipedia article that won’t get deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by May Monique Ocean (talkcontribs) 01:25, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Again new editor not understanding processes. That is an automated message that is placed when a page is nominated for that particular CSD category, in essence it is boiler plate language. Seriously, you've been claiming that you've been bit, multiple editors have reviewed this and came across the same determination in regards to your article like I did. Perhaps you should listen to the voices of experience and learn rather then keep insisting you are right? Food for thought. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 05:12, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    1. The nominator claimed that there are no reliable sources, but this is the opinion of one user. In reality, before the nomination for deletion, there were reliable, secondary, independent of the subject sources that wrote about it in detail. I wrote about this in the discussion, naming a part of the sources comply to the reliability criteria. 2. The deletor wrote that no sources were added after the nomination. In reality, sources have been added, including found on Google Books. Sources may also be or new ones may appear (WP:ARTN, WP:NPOSSIBLE). In 2020, there is a new publication, added to the article. There are articles about the main sources in en:wiki. 3. The article may be added and improved (WP:NEXIST). In the home be:wiki added, did not translate into English until I finish. 4. Howard Brodsky

I, MaynardClark, request the undeletion of this article about Howard Brodsky, entrepreneur who contributed to the development of sustainability within the movement for cooperatives in many areas of human cooperative endeavor. The contributions Howard Brodsky has made to the cooperative movement across many industries (banking, housing, credit unions, agriculture, groceries) has been recognized by a number of awards over the decades of his professional career; he and his family (including his two sons) 'speak and breathe coops' and have created a financial vision of responsible capitalism with cooperatives that is not a socialist vision, but is friendly with and compatible with such visionaries, and is pertinent to the emerging and vigorous discussions about the values and outcomes of these competing economic systems: capitalism and socialism, as well as the mixed economies of America and the world. Howard Brodsky's works reaches far outside America and far beyond CCA Global Partners, where he is founder and CEO. I would like to rewrite and rework this article. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:14, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Normally I'd be willing to restore to userspace, so an editor can work on it, if you have significant new (reliably and independently sourced) information. Certainly this can not be restored to article space. However, may I make the suggestion that if this person is notable that you start from scratch with the sources you have? There weren't any sources in the deleted version that would help with notability, and I think you'd come up with a better article if you began anew. I just have doubts you'd want to use the previous version as your starting point. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 05:28, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    Draft: Oga Micky

I, Umez Ike, request the undeletion of this draft or Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Umez Ike (talk) 01:54, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done – as a draft that was deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored upon request. However, the draft namespace, though it is intended to provide some breathing room to create and develop a page without the time pressure of immediate review, is not for the indefinite hosting of material that is unsuitable for inclusion in the article mainspace. Please continue to work on the draft so that it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for inclusion and then submit it for review—at the least, prior to another six months elapsing. When you are ready, a review can be requested by placing this code at the top of the page and then saving: {{subst:submit}}. kingboyk (talk) 13:28, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K. Surendran (politician) (2nd nomination), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, BD2412 (talk · contribs).
