These are characters from the animated TV series Family Guy.

Characters are only listed once, normally under the first applicable subsection in the list; very minor characters are listed with a more regular character they are associated with.

Griffin family

• Peter Griffin – Peter is 43 years old, born in the month of July. He is of mainly Irish heritage, with some ancestors of varied heritage, including African American and Hispanic. Peter is a fat, extremely oafish man, who often gets into bad situations, which are only made worse as he tries to get out of them. He is also technically mentally retarded. He is the husband to Lois, father to Meg, Chris, Stewie and the owner of Brian.

• Lois Griffin – Lois is 41 years old. Born into the wealthy Pewterschmidt family, Lois gave up her inheritance in order to marry Peter, but she is still careful about keeping up appearances in front of others and often gets miffed at Peter's lack of cultural sophistication, as well as his idiotic but well-meaning schemes. Lois teaches piano in order to supplement the family's income, although she spends most of her time caring for her family. she is constantly being harassed by Glenn Quagmire, who has an unnatural fetish with her.

• Meg Griffin – A seventeen-year-old daughter of Peter and Lois (she may actually be Peter's stepdaughter because Brian testified under oath that her real father is a man by the name of Stan Thompson). Meg spends her time worrying about fitting in with others her age at her school (James Woods Regional High School), where she is a junior, and tries hard to find acceptance. Meg has become a scapegoat for many cruel jokes about her looks, mannerisms, and general existence. In the 4th season episode "Don't Make Me Over" she lost her virginity to Jimmy Fallon while co-hosting a live broadcast of Saturday Night Live.

• Chris Griffin – fourteen-year-old son of Peter and Lois. He is not very intelligent and is overweight like his father. As featured in the first season episode "The Son Also Draws," Chris is talented at drawing. He is the only child whose paternity has never been questioned (though he was born due to a broken condom, according to his baby book). Some viewers mistakenly think that Chris is older than Meg because he is slightly taller.

• Stewie Griffin - One-year-old son of Peter and Lois, who has a stereotypical upper-class English accent. Stewie is incredibly intelligent and harbors ambitions to take over the world and to kill Lois. Thus far his plans have been foiled by those around him who don't take him seriously. Brian (the dog) is the only one in the show who can hear him 100% of the time and actually takes him seriously, so they often end up pairing off. There have been many jokes about his possible homosexuality though in many episodes he has played the role of a heterosexual(he has joked many times on how delightful it would be if he turned out to be a homosexual). His sexual orientation changes to suit the writers' jokes.

• Brian Griffin - Seven-year-old (49 in dog years) alcoholic dog of the Griffins, Brian may be described as the Griffin family's talking dog, but he is more accurately described as a dog who chooses to live with them. He is called Brian Griffin only because he lives with and was adopted by the Griffin family. His real name is simply "Brian". While he exhibits some "typical" dog behaviors, he can speak intelligently, drive a car, walk bipedally, and has a sharp wit. Peter is his best friend, despite Brian being much more intelligent than him, although in recent episodes he's been paired with Stewie far more than Peter. In Season 5, Brian has a girlfriend named Jillian. She is very attractive, but very dumb. Throughout the series, he has made several racist remarks against black people but usually the remarks were meant to illustrate the cultural phenomenon of white people who are worried they will inadvertently offend a black person or, alternately, Brian's remarks were the writers' vehicle to make a racist joke and were not meant as a means of character development.

Relatives

Peter's family

• Francis Griffin (deceased) - Peter's hardline Irish Catholic stepfather. Peter presumed Francis to be his biological father before the episode "Peter's Two Dads". He was formerly an employee of the Pawtucket Mill, and never had time for his son, because he believed that not working was a sin. He was finally forced to retire after 60 years of hard-working service, but refused to accept retirement, and ended up as a bodyguard for the Pope. He hated Lois because she is Protestant. Although he seemed gruff and strict on the exterior, Francis cared for Peter deep down, despite that his last words to Peter were "you're a fat, stinking drunk." He was at the age of 80 when he died. Voiced by Charles Durning.

• Thelma Griffin – Ex-wife to Francis and mother to Peter. She is an alcoholic who spends most of her time gambling in Las Vegas. The Griffins have a rocket powered escape pod installed in the side of their home for a quick escape when Thelma visits. In "Mother Tucker", she dated Tom Tucker for a short time. Voiced by Florence Stanley and later by Phyllis Diller.

• Nate Griffin - (deceased) Peter's black ancestor. Originally mentioned in "Peter Griffin: Husband, Father...Brother?". Owned by Silas Pewterschmidt, he secretly had sex with Lois Laura Bush Lynn Chaney Pewterschmidt to create an inter-racial family. Peter's lineage to Nate is now in question upon the revelation that Mickey, not Francis, is Peter's real father, though Nate might have been on Thelma's side of the family.

• Bertram – Stewie's half-brother and arch nemesis, he was originally the unconceived son of Peter who Lois referred to as "Stewie's sperm-brother." In the episode "Emission Impossible" he fought a miniaturized Stewie to a standstill inside Peter's body, and shared Stewie's hatred of Lois and Jason Patric. In the episode "Sibling Rivalry", he was born to a lesbian couple after Peter donated his sperm. Voiced by Wallace Shawn.

Lois' family

Main article: Pewterschmidt family

• Carter Pewterschmidt – Billionaire industrialist, and owner of U.S. Steel. Husband to Barbara, father to Lois, Carol, Patrick, and apparently a mulatto shoe-shine boy. He loathes Peter intensely, insulting and demeaning him every chance he gets, calling him names such as "fat bastard" or "fathead". He pushed Peter into a fire on one occasion, and offered Peter one million dollars to "never see my daughter again". He and his wife Barbara once got a divorce, but they were quickly remarried. Though he reviles Peter, Carter does love his grandchildren Meg, Chris, and Stewie. Very rarely do he and Peter ever truly get along and when they do, they go back to fighting. In Peterotica, it is implied that he is 70 years old. He is voiced by Seth MacFarlane (MacFarlane points out during a DVD commentary that Dr. Hartman's voice and the voice he does for Carter Pewterschmidt are nearly identical; fortunately this has not been easily picked up by a majority of viewers, as neither of the characters have appeared in a scene together).

• Barbara Pewterschmidt – Wife to Carter, mother to Lois, Carol, and Patrick. Once had an affair with Jackie Gleason, and possibly several other men, but her husband doesn't seem to know or care since they only married for business reasons, and they don't love each other. She once divorced Carter and married Ted Turner, but quickly divorced him, taking half of CNN's and TNT's ownership and remarrying Carter. Loves her grandchildren. Unlike her husband, she gets along with Peter. She once had the opportunity to have sex with Peter (mainly to spite Carter) but Peter chose not to do it. She is voiced by Alex Borstein.

• Carol Pewterschmidt – Sister to Lois Griffin and Patrick Pewtershmidt, daughter of Carter and Barbara. Carol has eight ex-husbands, with a son by the most recent one. Unlike her father, she doesn't loathe Peter. Voiced by Carol Kane.

• Patrick Pewterschmidt - Lois's brother, who was locked away in a mental institution by their parents Carter and Barbara after he walked in on his mother having sex with Jackie Gleason. He had a nervous breakdown as a result and harbors an intense hatred for fat men to this day. During his temporary release from the mental institution, he became "The Quahog Fat Guy Strangler" and nearly killed Peter. He has an invisible/imaginary wife named Marian. Voiced by Robert Downey, Jr.

• Marguerite Pewterschmidt (deceased) – Great-aunt to Lois Griffin. She owned the palatial Cherrywood Manor in Newport (now known to be "America's first presidential whorehouse"), which Lois inherited after her death while paying the Griffins a visit. She shared Carter's revilement of Peter. Voiced by Alex Borstein.

• Silas Pewterschmidt (deceased) - Ancestor of the Pewterschmidt family. One of the first to colonize America. Bartered with Native Americans by holding a knife to a baby's throat, presumably sparing its life in exchange for maize.

• Lois Laura Bush Lynn Cheney Pewterschmidt (deceased) - Silas Pewterschmidt's daughter. Started an inter-racial family in secret with Nate Griffin. Voiced by Alex Borstein.

Brian's family

Jasper

• Biscuit (deceased) – Brian's mother. When she died, her owners had her stuffed and turned into an end table. Biscuit has since been given a proper burial by Brian and Stewie.

• Coco (presumed deceased) – Brian's racist father. Throughout the show, Brian has made several racist comments and also has a problem of barking at black men. He always explains himself by saying that it is influenced by his father. In Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Junior High, Brian made the joke, "Call me Brian. Mr. Griffin is my father." Chris replied, "I thought your father's name was Coco and he got hit by a milk truck."

• Jasper – Brian's flamboyant homosexual cousin, known for constantly telling dirty jokes. Self-described "rice queen", married to Ricardo, a "skinny, hairless Filipino boy". Brian roomed with Jasper when he moved to Hollywood to be a writer, and then started to direct porn films. He lives in Los Angeles and teaches a dance class at Club Med. He's the only other living anthropomorphic dog that has been seen on the show besides Brian and Todd (not including a brief appearance of several dogs playing poker with Mayor West, one of which talks).

Others

• Todd (deceased) - The dog that the Griffin family had before he died and they got Brian. Like Brian, he was anthropomorphic. He lived to the age of fifteen.
• Fluffy - Fluffy is the cat Peter bought to replace Brian after he moved out of the Griffin household. Fluffy later turned out to be a mean and violent cat who threw firecrackers at the Griffins, and about whom Peter said, "God, I hate this freakin' cat."

• Stan Thompson - Meg's real father, according to Peter & Brian in "Screwed the Pooch". Possibly was meant as a one-time joke and not actually canon.

• Cousin Jeanine - The cousin who is mocked by the Griffins, Peter and Chris specifically, behind her back because of her diabetes.

Brian and O'Brian

• Seabreeze - The Pewterschmidt family dog, a prize-winning greyhound. Had an affair with Brian in "Screwed the Pooch", but was already pregnant by Ted Turner.

• The Pet Rock - A rock the Griffins had which, for unknown reasons, has the ability to urinate on the carpet, which is always followed by Peter scolding it.

• The Deceased Sister/Daughter - In "Let's Go to the Hop" Chris refers to his sister that Meg strangled. Lois and Peter denies it and claims that it was just a dream. Possibly just a gag, as this is never referenced in any other episode.

• Brother Jimmy - Buried alive by the Griffins because they thought he was dead according to Meg. This appears however to be simply a cruel joke Meg told in order to frighten Chris.
• O'Brian - A talking sheep who belongs to Mickey McFinnegan. Could be considered as Mickey's Irish counterpart to Peter's Brian, since they heavily resemble each other in appearance, voice and behavior. He also has a sheep-like bleating laugh similar to Peter's.

• The Coupon Chicken- A chicken who spontaneously appears and attacks Peter. He has had numerous appearances, starting with him trying to sell outdated coupons to Peter. Upon realizing the coupons are worthless, Peter appears to kill him, though he always opens his left eye with a gaze of hatred toward peter as he walks away from the battle. The angry chicken appears in later episodes seeking revenge. In the Season 5 Finale, Meet the Quagmires, it is revealed that Peter's first encounter with the chicken is at a dance in 1984, where Peter accidentally punches him in the face. This is followed by a fellow dancer stating that the two probably will never meet again.

Fictional relatives

• Kathy Griffin - Peter's cousin, a real-life comedian. Her never ending talking has led the family to attempt to sedate her with drugs, though their attempt failed when Chris drank from the glass meant for Kathy.

• Huck Griffin – Peter's great-great uncle, who sailed down the Mississippi River with a slave. A parody of Huckleberry Finn. Huck's use of the word "Nigger" is implied, as the cutaway begins with Jim being angry at him for using "our word" to which he responds by asking, "Could you pass me the oar, N-word Jim?" (deceased)

• Peter's Grandfather – He was among the men at Warner Brothers who created Bugs Bunny, but he wanted the character to be named "Ephraim the Retarded Rabbit." (deceased)

• Angus Griffin – A Scottish ancestor of Peter Griffin. He was among the men who first invented golf, with a "no Jews and no Blacks" rule.

• Juarez Griffin – A Mexican ancestor of Peter Griffin who took part in several cockfights. He was roughly the size of a chicken.

• Jabba the Griffin – The great-great uncle of Peter's with an uncanny resemblance to Jabba the Hutt who speaks with a pseudo-Huttese accent. Jabba The Griffin's only recognizable words are "wookiee nipple pinchie".

• Ulysses S. Griffin – Peter's great-great grandfather who fought for the Union in the American Civil War. A parody of Ulysses S. Grant. In the cutaway, he is shown beating Robert E. Lee in a beer drinking contest, thus ending the Civil War.

• Peter's other Civil War participant ancestors were conjoined twins who chose opposing sides in the war. The one who fought for the Union killed the other, who continued decomposing until he was a skeleton. "Nope ... did not think that one through," he said.

• King Arthur Griffin – An ancient medieval ancestor of Peter. An obvious parody of King Arthur. When Guinevere offered to make love to him if he could pull Excalibur from the stone, he asked her, "What if I can just move it an inch? Will you touch me?" (deceased)

• Ella Fitzgerald Griffin – Great-aunt of Peter Griffin, who was a jazz singer. An obvious parody of Ella Fitzgerald and her commercials for Memorex. The cutaway shows her performing in a jazz club accompanied on piano by a young, sighted Ray Charles. When she sustains a high note during a scat solo, the champagne glass on the piano shatters, sending shards of glass into his eyes and (by implication) causing his blindness (in real life, Charles was blind from childhood).

• Ponce de León Griffin - Peter's explorer ancestor, who searched for the Fountain of Youth. Once he found it, he waded in it, and emerged from the water with the body of a baby, but his head (the only part of his body that didn't touch the water) stayed fully mature and grown. "That was worth the eight and a half year boat ride," he said. (deceased)

• Rufus Griffin - Peter's black cousin, who starred in many blaxploitation films, namely "Black to the Future", a parody of Back to the Future, "Caddyblack", a parody of Caddyshack, "Blackdraft", a parody of Backdraft, and "Black Kramer Vs. Kramer", a parody of Kramer Vs. Kramer.
• Quark Griffin - Referred to by Stewie as his cousin, Quark is an alien famous for being the bartender on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

• Stewie Cruise - Stewie's hyperactive cousin, a parody of Tom Cruise who appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show, claiming repeatedly that he is not gay because he is in love with Katie Holmes.

• Ur-Peter - Peter's caveman ancestor. Invented the wheel, as well as the practice of putting Promotional models next to cars in order to attract customers.

• Moses Griffin - Led the Jews out of Egypt. An obvious parody of Moses.

• Peter Hitler - Adolf Hitler's favorite brother. Interrupted one of Hitler's speeches several times, and got more applause from the crowd. Inadvertently killed Hitler and Eva Braun whilst playing with a gun.

• Willy "Black-Eye" Griffin - Peters great grandfather who was the greatest silent movie star of the 1920s. His jokes involved eye injuries. However, due to his Bobcat Goldthwait-esque voice, he did not transition well into talkies. (deceased)

• Chief Grand Cherokee – Indian ancestor of Peter, a rain maker who fought at Wounded Knee and liked the Neutron Dance. Peter told an Indian casino owner about this (fictional) ancestor in his attempt to reclaim the family car after Lois lost it while gambling. (deceased)

• Puss - According to Peter, Puss was a cat owned by the family "when we were shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show". This utterance is followed by a poorly drawn, poorly animated, and poorly voiced cut-away parody of The Tracey Ullman Show shorts in which the family is shown burying Puss and commenting on his life. Despite this appearance, there is no real proof of Puss's actual existence. (deceased)

• Thaddeus Griffin – Peter's Evil Twin Brother. Has a long twisty mustache and top hat, likes to wear black and laugh maniacally. Thaddeus is an homage to classic pantomime villains such as Snidely Whiplash. The character only appeared once in Mother Tucker. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

• Turn of the Century Take on all Comers Griffin – Peter's Great-Grandfather who used to stand up for himself and is seen in a boxing match with a kangaroo. Liked to speak in late 19th/early 20th century slang such as "have a bully day". (deceased)

• Osias Griffin - Peter's great-grandfather, who owned one of the first telephones (his number was 3). "(deceased)"

• Thomas Griffin - A distant relative of Peter's who was a famed philosopher. Featured in the Griffin family tree. (deceased)

Other Families

Browns

• Cleveland Brown - One of Peter Griffin's neighbors and best friends as well as one of the few recurring African American characters on the show. Cleveland owns his own deli. His name is an obvious parody of the Cleveland Browns professional football team. Cleveland and Peter met one night, presumably in the early/mid 70's, when Peter was attempting to hitchhike a ride back to Rhode Island. He is a strict vegan, although he has been known to fish.
• Loretta Brown - Ex-wife of Cleveland and mother of Cleveland, Jr. Loretta is strong-willed and somewhat controlling. Loretta dominated her ex-husband, and in several episodes Cleveland alludes to the fact that she placed high demands on him in the bedroom. She is keen on promoting black culture and doesn't allow white literature in her house. Loretta and Cleveland divorced after she had an affair with Glen Quagmire in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire". • Cleveland Brown, Jr. - Son of Cleveland and Loretta. Cleveland, Jr. is a hyperactive young adult with a very short attention span (symptomatic of ADHD), in direct contrast to his extremely calm father. Cleveland Sr. has admitted that he has not done anything about his son's disorder. Except for a brief appearance in "The Perfect Castaway", Cleveland, Jr. has not been seen since Season 3. It is assumed Loretta was given full custody.
• Broderick Brown - Brother of Cleveland Brown, he's a plastic surgeon. (Only appears in "He's Too Sexy for His Fat".)
• Great Uncle Chet (deceased) - Cleveland's great uncle, seen only in Fifteen Minutes of Shame. According to Cleveland, he died in his sleep "somewhere in between the Tonight Show and the The Today Show".

Campbells

First appeared "From Method to Madness". Dave and Dotty appeared briefly in "Road to Europe" and at the end of the DVD version of "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story"

• Dave Campbell – Nudist. Dave was saved from drowning by Peter and his fishing crew. He is the husband of Dotty, and is father of Jeff. Member of the KISS Army. Voiced by Fred Willard.
• Dotty Campbell – Nudist. Wife of Dave, and mother of Jeff.
• Jeff Campbell – 16-year-old son of Dave and Dotty. Jeff is also a nudist, and once dated Meg Griffin. It is implied that he is well-endowed.
• (Un-named toddler) Campbell - Seen when the Griffins arrive for dinner. "Look at you, you little jaybird." Not seen again.

Goldmans

• Mort Goldman - A Jewish pharmacist, and one of Peter's friends. He is not very confident in himself, and often sings soppy songs. Peter once sold Meg to Mort in order to pay an outstanding tab at his pharmacy.
• Muriel Goldman - Mort's wife. She met him on a video dating service. Strangely enough, she finds him attractive and charming.
• Neil Goldman - Mort and Muriel's son. Unlike his father, he is very confident in himself. He is always asking Meg out ("like once a day") and she always rejects him. He may be even too confident for his own good, as he doesn't seem to realize that Meg dislikes him. Neil once had (and possibly still has) a true girlfriend named Cecilia. They were both somewhat 'nerds', and she thought his psoriasis was sexy. He has a speech impediment due to the retainer he wears, although when he removes the retainer, he suddenly speaks with a smooth, mature, and dignified voice. He is named after one of the show's staff. In The Kiss Seen Around the World he kissed Meg in front of Quahog 5 cameras when they thought they were going to die. When Meg tells everyone that she never liked him, and never will, he pretends to commit suicide by jumping off the City Hall roof, but his bungee cord snaps and Meg has to save him.
• Jennifer Love Hewitt - According to the show, is the niece of Mort and Muriel, and cousin of Neil. She once went on a date with Peter. Also revealed in a cutaway to really be a male Inuit that has had extensive plastic surgery.

Kerns

From "Love Thy Trophy"

• Jack – Loving man who has adopted many children from various races in order to create the beginnings of racial harmony. He briefly adopted Stewie after Child Protective Services thought the baby was addicted to crack.
• Sarah – Married to Jack, she refused to return Stewie to the Griffins until they bribed her with a Prada bag.
• Li – One of the adopted babies, of Han Chinese heritage.
• Pablo – One of the adopted babies, of Hispanic heritage.
• Ura – One of the adopted babies, of African heritage, possibly a Khoisan.
• Haji - One of the adopted babies of Indian heritage.
• Unnamed babies - The other two babies, who appear to be Incan and Inuit.

Pinchleys

From "One If by Clam, Two If by Sea"

• Nigel Pinchley (deceased) – Father to Eliza. Briefly owner of the Drunken Clam before attempting to claim insurance by burning it down and framing Peter. Lois discovered his fraud. He was eventually deported back to England, where he was hanged (in real life, there is no death penalty in the UK). Voiced by Hugh Laurie.
• Eliza Pinchley – Daughter of Nigel Pinchley. Before arriving in Quahog, she speaks in a thick Cockney accent, but Stewie trains her to speak "Queen's English", in a parody of the musical My Fair Lady. (Rex Harrison, the lead actor in the Broadway and movie versions of My Fair Lady, provided the inspiration for Stewie's voice.) Since her father's hanging, she has lived in an orphanage, but plots revenge against Lois, whom she blames for her father's death, much to the delight of Stewie and the Arsonist Bug. She is voiced by Tara Strong.

Quagmires

• Glenn Quagmire - The Griffin's next-door neighbor and Peter's oldest friend; they met sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s when Quagmire, then a Naval officer, fished a drowning Peter from the ocean. He is a total hedonist with a raging libido who uses his job as an airline pilot to help satisfy his perverse desires. It has been implied various times that he is a convicted sex offender, date rapist, and ephebophile with a foot fetish. His manner of dress and the interior design of his home are modeled after 1960s swingers, such as those found in Rock Hudson/Doris Day movies and Beach Blanket Bingo. He has a love for many women, particularly Lois, and even got married to Joan (deceased) in the episode "I Take Thee Quagmire". Almost everything in his house folds out into a bed, as revealed in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" when Cleveland hits nine pieces of the house's furniture and walls with a baseball bat, causing them all to shift to bed mode. Quagmire's catch phrase is "giggity giggity goo". Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• Joan Quagmire - (deceased.) Formerly Peter's maid for a week, but became Quagmire's love interest on her last day as a maid. She was suicidal, and said she would kill Quagmire, and herself, if he left her. She died after touching Death. She was voiced by Nicole Sullivan.
• Quagmire's Mother - Quagmire once mentioned that he did not know his father, and that his mother was single. Whether or not she is widowed, divorced or a lifelong spinster, is unknown. She also triggered his perverse ways, if he didn't have them already (as suggested by a deleted scene of him in the womb), by breastfeeding him. Their relationship becomes even more questionable in the episode "Brian the Bachelor". When Quagmire takes The Bachelorette home to meet his family, he tells his mother to stop screaming at him, adding 'If you want this three-way to happen you'd better change your tone!' In her older years, she is cranky and seems to love the cat Mittens more than her son, maybe because Quagmire hasn't fathered any (legitimate) children.
• Quagmire's unnamed son - Lives in Madrid, Spain. Most of his Spanish consists of the word giggity. Appears in the episode "Peter's Got Woods" arguing with his wife or mother. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

Stevensons

From "A Fish out of Water"

• Jim Stevenson – Bought the Griffins' house briefly when Peter was unable to pay a loan back to the bank. He is a very cultured man, and is married to Abby. Stewie was angered by his inability to play Pictionary well, as evidenced by his repeated shouts of "Jackal! It's a jackal! Is it a jackal? A jackal!" during a round in which they were paired as partners.
• Abby Stevenson – Wife of Jim who treats Peter like her child and apparently has some appreciation of art.

Swansons

• Joe Swanson - The Griffins' paraplegic neighbor, who, despite his injury, is extremely enthusiastic and macho (except around Christmas) and has even made his family stand still. He got his injury after the Grinch pushed him off the roof of a house with a roller skate on Christmas Eve, and to this day, Joe has held a grudge against Christmas. He briefly was able to walk in one episode before being crushed by Kevin and becoming paraplegic once again.
• Bonnie Swanson - Joe's timid wife, who has been pregnant since her first appearance. She has not yet managed to deliver her baby, which is hardly surprising, as none of the characters' ages (except maybe Meg and Chris) have changed. Peter has even commented on it ("First of all, Bonnie, you've been pregnant for, like, six years. Either have the baby or don't.")
• Kevin Swanson - Joe and Bonnie's teenage son on whom Meg has a crush. Like his dad, Kevin has an intense nature and love of challenges. His relationship with his father is conflicting as shown in the first episode where he vocally refuses to be a 'robot' to his father's wishes, yet later he is shown to be actively seeking his father's approval. Note that it was said by Joe that after the first time Kevin beat him at something, Joe punched him repeatedly until he blacked out, at which point we can assume he beat the proverbial crap out of Kevin and he had to go live with the foster parents for a while. His most recent appearance was in Peters Two Dads at Meg's birthday, although he had no lines.

The Evil Monkeys

• The Evil Monkey – Lives in Chris' closet and frequently gestures toward him in a threatening manner. Chris tries to warn his family about the Evil Monkey, but they end up laughing. Only Stewie believes him when he tries to tell them of the existence of the Evil Monkey. Although the Evil Monkey was originally intended as a small time gag (similar to the Giant Chicken and The "Performance Artist"), he has gained cult status amongst Family Guy fans and is extremely popular amongst most fans and non-fans alike.
  • His first appearance was in "Dammit Janet!". When Lois told Chris that she was going to begin working as a flight attendant, he said, "Who's going to protect me from the evil monkey in my closet?"
  • In "Fore Father", he had his second appearance.
  • In "Emission Impossible", he had his third appearance.
  • In "North By North Quahog", he makes his season 4 debut, listening to the sound of Peter and Lois' bed screeching while they are having sex.
  • In "Brian the Bachelor", Doug the Pimple was giving Chris trouble; the Evil Monkey appeared and made his threatening gesture, but Chris just snarled, "I AM IN NO MOOD!" and continued past him. This seemed to disappoint the monkey.
  • In "Model Misbehavior" when not menacing Chris, the Evil Monkey likes to relax, listen to Foghat, and smoke marijuana (a parody of the closing scene of the movie Dazed and Confused).
  • The Evil Monkey appears in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story as a guest coming into the theater in the opening sequence. He is cheered for making his threatening gesture to the crowd.
  • In "Jungle Love", when the Griffins hear that Chris wants to stay in South America, they all have a shocked look on their faces. The Evil Monkey appears with a sad look on his face and sheds a tear.
  • In "Stewie Loves Lois", Peter is depressed; when the Evil Monkey does his threatening look and points at him, Peter responds, "Oh, stop it, Meg!".
  • In "Saving Private Brian" Chris Griffin performs a song dedicated to The Evil Monkey with the goth band "Splash Log" during a school dance. The name of the song is thought to be "Evil, Evil Monkey". Chris Griffin ends the song by stage diving into the crowd, though the crowd refuses to catch him it results in Chris crashing through the floor to the school basement where Chris spots Mayor Adam West playing poker against a group of dogs.
  • In "It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One" Evil Monkey becomes a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and is shown with an issue of The Watchtower.
• Wife Of Evil Monkey - We learn in "Ready, Willing, and Disabled" that the Evil Monkey turned evil after coming home early to tell his wife he had received a promotion, only to find her in bed with another monkey. In the commentary for Ready Willing, and Disabled, Seth McFarlane jokes that the monkey is not actually evil, just disgruntled.
• The Cheating Monkey – Not actually part of the same monkey family as the previous two, only listed here because he had sex with the Evil Monkey's wife, causing him to become evil.
• The Evil Asian Monkey – may just be the "normal" Evil Monkey with a wig on. If not, the Evil Asian Monkey lives in Asiantown and has black hair. This monkey is seen only once (in Breaking out Is Hard to Do from Season 4) when the Griffins are running from the police.
• His Religion - The evil monkey has been revealed to be a Jehovah's Witness and he scares Chris with "The Watchtower" now.

Tuckers

• Tom Tucker - The local newscaster, who works at Channel 5. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• Stacy Tucker - Tom's second wife, and Jake's stepmother. She appears to strongly dislike Tom, which may have contributed to his extramarital affairs. On the other hand, the other explanation for Tom's extramarital affairs could be that they have an open marriage. Tom called her a "frigid old cow" in the episode "I Never Met the Dead Man." It was revealed in "Mother Tucker" the two had gotten divorced. Voiced by Nicole Sullivan.
• Jake Tucker - Tom Tucker's son. He has an upside-down face. He is told that he doesn't have a bottom, and it is implied that his penis is in the wrong place. In one episode, Tom took Jake to the psychiatrist, and told him, "I know Stacy isn't your mother, but upside-down face or not, you'll have to learn to respect her!" He also says this quote in his squeaky voice, "Stop staring at me!!" Jake also briefly dated Cecilia, Neil's ex-girlfriend, stating "Buy me something!". His face may have been fixed by the toxic waste in It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

Peter's work colleagues

Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Company

During the first few seasons, Peter worked on an assembly line at the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Company; this company and the toys it produced (e.g., G.I. Jew) were all a parody of Hasbro and its products.

• Jonathan Weed (deceased) – Owner of the factory. He has a Spanish accent and is also homosexual; often appoints male employees based on their physical appearance. His family's name was "Bermuda Grass," but it was changed to "Weed" when they immigrated through Ellis Island. In the episode "Mr. Saturday Knight", he choked to death on a dinner roll that was spat out by Brian as Peter performed the Heimlich maneuver on him. In his video will, he stated that the factory would be destroyed, and so it was before the tape had finished playing. Voiced by Carlos Alazraqui.
• Guillermo – Handsome Hispanic employee hired as a ringer for the company softball team. Got hit in the leg with a ball thrown by Peter. Came with Weed to the opening night of Peter's play. (removed from show)
• Johnson – Employee who developed the "G.I. Jew" dolls and exclaimed, "Whoa! Glad he's on our side!" Johnson also finished second to Peter during Mr. Weed's hunting contest to see who would win a week's paid vacation. (removed from show)
• Leonard Hayle – Mr. Weed's lawyer; handled the affairs of Mr. Weed's death. Also Mr. Weed's lover. (removed from show)
• Harrison – Replaced Mr. Weed during the brief time the toy company was owned by El Dorado Cigarettes. Enjoys shooting dogs. (removed from show)
• Jerry – Executive of El Dorado Cigarettes. Appears in subliminal messages in old TV programs such as Lassie, encouraging people to smoke by randomly popping in and saying "Smoke". (removed from show)

Fishermen

• Pascual and Santos – Portuguese immigrants who work as fishermen with Peter. One was a cardiologist in Portugal. They do not speak a word of English, even when talking to those who do. Eventually, Peter couldn't afford them, so he decides to shoot them. Luckily, they swam away in time. In another episode, the fishermen offered to babysit Stewie, until Stewie informed them that no Portuguese were allowed. They also saved Joe Swanson's life in the episode "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire". Curiously, they speak with a heavy Brazilian accent, but sometimes with poorly translated Portugese. They are in reference to the large Portuguese-American community located in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which would include Quahog.
• Henessy – Rival fisherman who dislikes Peter. Despite the fact that he is known to insult Peter's obesity, he is about the same physical build. Voiced by Michael Chiklis.
• Salty – Fisherman who faked his own death at the hands of Daggermouth in order to gain money from the subsequent merchandising. Voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray.
• Seamus – Fisherman with wooden limbs. When asked whether he has the limbs because of an accident, he responds, "No, me father was a tree." Based on the nature of Family Guy, it is debatable whether or not he was sarcastic. Claims to have gotten a splinter when he was at the sperm bank, presumably due to trying to masturbate with wooden arms.
• name unknown – Fisherman eaten alive by a shark at a fair. Ironically, the proceeds of the fair were going to the families of shark attack victims.
• Daggermouth – Talking fish robot created by Salty.
• Boom Boom – Effeminate cartoon cat, friend of Daggermouth. Created as a parody of Nickelodeon's programming.

Renaissance Fair

From "Mr. Saturday Knight"

• Black Knight – Once saved Peter's life, then later became his nemesis. Voiced by Will Ferrell.
• Maid Madeleine – The Black Knight's trophy wench. Every man who sees her gets an erection that makes a "ding" sound against their armor, except for Mort Goldman, who tries to cover his lack of arousal (or small genitals) by saying the word "ding!" She also asked Peter if he would "take a gander under my frock," which Peter took literally and placed a goose under her dress.
• Drill sergeant (unnamed) – Trainer of the jousters. Voiced by R. Lee Ermey.

Pawtucket Brewery

• Angela - Peter's supervisor, in charge of the shipping department. Repeatedly awards Opie with employee of the month and promotes him. Whether this is because she thinks Opie is more competent than Peter or because she is doing this to annoy Peter is unknown. Voiced by Carrie Fisher.
• Fouad - Arab American coworker, apparent expert in comedy; taught Peter the concept of sarcasm
• Opie - Peter's former co-worker, who has been promoted ahead of Peter. Opie is mentally retarded, but much more severely. Opie has a bad haircut, speaks unintelligibly, wears different pairs of shoes at once, enjoys biting people's fingers and has at least once shoved a pencil into his brain through his eye.
• Peter's boss (unnamed) - Tells Peter that employees are welcome to free Pawtucket ale, but since Peter can't control his drinking, he demotes Peter to the shipping department.
• Soundwave - The Decepticon Transformer, who is also Peter's co-worker. Soundwave was promoted to Opie's job ahead of Peter his first day on the job. He is apparently married to a human woman, has two step-children and is a practicing Christian.

Schools

James Woods Regional High School

• Connie D'Amico – Most popular girl in school. Often appears conceited. Does not like Meg. In the episode "Barely Legal", Brian reveals Connie's reasons for insulting Meg, saying that she started having sex so early that she will be worn out by age 19 so she has to pick on Meg to avoid the realization that by that age she will be a worn out whore, berating her for that, causing Connie to run away crying.
• Doug – Friend of Connie.
• Ted – Friend of Connie.
• Marsha – Friend of Connie.
• Toad Girl – Classmate of Meg's, who resembles a toad.
• Jennifer – (deceased). Briefly Meg's friend before committing suicide as part of the Heaven's Helpers Cult mass suicide party. Voiced by Rachael MacFarlane.
• Rob Berler – Meg's teacher. He thinks that Meg shouldn't hang out with the "popular clique", and when he catches her with them, he tells her to play alone somewhere. He also says that having Meg as a lab partner is irresponsible, because he says Meg is awful at Science. He has also accidentally taped over an episode of NOVA with a sex tape he made with his wife, portraying him as a transvestite.
• Mr. Lazenby – Teacher once arrested for teaching crackpot theories involving Gil Gerard traveling back in time and ejaculating into the primordial ooze.
• Mrs. Canner – A teacher of Meg's who fell into the "cool crowd" at school because she owned a Prada bag, much to Meg's chagrin.
• Principal Shepherd – School Principal. Has been seen wearing a shirt with the word "Principal" on it. He is also Jewish. Voiced by Gary Cole.
• Jake Tucker – Classmate of Chris Griffin. (See Other Families: Tuckers for details.)
• Craig Hoffman – A rebel who Meg tries to go out with at first. He lives by his own rules and nobody else's, not even his own.
• Sarah - Lesbian classmate of Meg and member (or president) of Gay/Lesbian Alliance Club. Briefly attracted to Meg.
• unknown gym teacher - Thought to be an ephebophile, as she once told a group of girls to "Take it off, get in the shower and bounce around for me". In another episode, it is confirmed that she is a lesbian, as she appeared at a sperm bank with her partner. She is now one of the parents (as her partner gave birth) of Stewie's half-brother Bertram.
• Cecilia - A girl who dated Neil Goldman for a time before he dated Meg. After he broke up with Meg he called her back asking to hook up again. It is unknown whether or not she accepted.
• Shauna Parks - An African-American 11th grade History teacher. Dated Brian in Peter's Got Woods and prompted to have the school's name changed to Martin Luther King, Jr.. Voiced by Gabrielle Union.
• Alyssa - A right-wing girl Chris has a crush on; offered to let him touch her "boobies" in exchange his help sabotaging Brian's petition to allow gay marriage.

• Principal Sloane - Principal, who reassigns Brian to remedial English, but doesn't want to negotiate because he is on holiday in the Bahamas, and instructing his masseur to massage his testicles.
• Randall Fargus ("Running Mates") – Long-time teacher. Taught Peter when he attended school. Considered a hippie, he was made to take medication to control his hyperactive tendencies. Briefly convinced by Peter to go off his medication, Mr. Fargus was fired after destroying several California condor eggs. Peter rehired him after becoming school board president. Presumably killed by a Hall Monitor Robot resembling ED-209 from Robocop.
• Ms. Clifton ("Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr. High") – Teacher. She quits after winning the lottery. Ms. Clifton could possibly be a reference to Lucille Clifton, a renowned African-American author of "The Lucky Stone."
• Mr. McCloud – Teacher. Believes Steinberg's Jewish holidays are simply excuses, but he believes "tumorsyphilisitisosis" is a real (and fatal) disease.
• Jeremy – Terminally ill boy. Presumably has cancer, as he always appears gravely ill.
• Paul Lewis ("Ready, Willing, and Disabled") – Classmate of Chris Griffin. Chris helped raise money for an organ transplant for Paul.
• Mrs. Lana Lockhart ("Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr. High") – A sexy substitute English teacher that Chris fell in love with at school. She has a Hammerspace ability to pull and store things (such as an entire classroom's worth of test papers) in the always-displayed cleavage of her large breasts. In a reference to To Die For, attempted to seduce Chris into killing her husband, and left him when he wouldn't help. Is portrayed as an ephebophile and a zoophile. Later killed her husband herself by putting a bear in his oatmeal... and ran off with the bear. Voiced by Drew Barrymore.
• Barbara – Chris's first crush.
• Cindi – Lead cheerleader with the long pigtails. Yells at her cheerleading team. Is presumed to have been raped by Quagmire, when he opened a bathroom stall door, saw her tied and gagged (by Stewie) and said "dear diary...Jackpot!"
• Steinberg – Jewish, classmate of Chris, frequently told to take off his yarmulke (or "damn hat") by Mr. McCloud, after which he always puts it back on right away. (If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin')
• Alyssa - A right-wing girl Chris has a crush on; offered to let him touch her "boobies" in exchange his help sabotaging Brian's petition to allow gay marriage.
• Kyle - A bully who picks on Chris. Herbert "broke up" with Chris as he liked Kyle. He ended up getting beaten up by Peter after he insulted him and then encouraged Peter to bully. Very anti-social.

Brian's remedial English students

In the episode "Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr. High" Brian takes a job teaching Remedial English. Near the end of the episode, Brian's students get up on their desks and recite Walt Whitman's O Captain! My Captain!, as the students do in Dead Poets Society.

• Carlos - Beneath his tough exterior is a boy aching to learn. And beneath that is a rapist. Aspires to be a ditch-digger.
• Tim - A 28 year young student. Addicted to weed. Aspires to be a window washer.
• Amanda - Frequently pregnant. Brian recommends her to get her cash up front when she becomes an aspiring hooker.
• Unknown black girl - Wants a child because her mother keeps giving hers away. Asks Amanda can she have her baby when Amanda becomes in labor. Like Amanda, she aspires to be a hooker.
• Unknown Hispanic girl - Aspires to be a motel maid.
• Unknown crazy boy - Speaks unintelligible language. Always locked in a cage. Only wears underwear.

School of Performing Arts

From "From Method to Madness"

• Simon – Drama Teacher. A homosexual. It is implied (via an improv that he guided Stewie through) that his sexual orientation was a flashpoint in his relationship with his father, who had introduced Simon at Simon's sister's wedding as his "other daughter."
• Olivia Fuller – Child star and briefly part of a successful duet with Stewie. She returned in "Chick Cancer" and married Stewie, but she cheated on him, resulting in Stewie leaving and setting her house on fire. Whether she survived this or not is currently unknown, however knowing the nature of the show she most likely did not. Voiced by Rachael MacFarlane. (Possibly/Probably Deceased)

Hugs and Kisses (The Good Kind) Playschool

From "Dammit Janet!"

• Janet – Stewie's first love, who used him for his "cookies", the most prominent word in her vocabulary, and the real reason why she liked him.
• Leonard – Stewie's friend from playschool.
• Melinda – Stewie's friend from playschool.
• Brad – Stewie's friend from playschool. Not to be confused with a student named Brad in Stewie's swim lessons in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.

Lois' piano lessons

Lois teaches piano in order to supplement the family's income. In "Wasted Talent", she desperately searches for one piano student who can beat Alexis's student in competition. Lois chained Meg to the piano while trying to teach her, then she discovered Peter's hidden talent, but he can only play while intoxicated.

• Jimmy – One of Lois's most talented students, beaten up by Stewie because Stewie was trying to watch The History Channel while Jimmy practiced.
• Jonas – One of Lois's piano students; not very skillful. Lois also teaches a student named Jonas in the episode "Brian's Wallows and Peter's Swallows." This Jonas has brown hair instead of blond although they otherwise look very similar. Also, this Jonas seems to be more skilled, receiving a genuine complement from Lois at the end of the lesson.
• Reuben – One of Lois's piano student; plays a lullaby to Stewie when he has his teething.
• Alexis Radcliffe – Rival piano teacher.

Peter's school friends

• Angie – An old school friend of Peter's. She is obsessed with him, à la Wuthering Heights Voiced by Alex Borstein.
• Bob Funland – Went to school with Peter. Owner of "Bob's Funland", a successful theme park. Peter made fun of him when, as a child, he was mourning the death of his mother ("Bob misses his mommy!").
• Brenda – An old school friend of Peter's. Extraordinarily overweight, she did not realize that she was pregnant until she suddenly gave birth on her front porch. She is a chain smoker, and smokes through her tracheotomy incision. She appears to have only gotten this way since graduating high school.
• Phoebe Diamond – Peter's first crush. Knocked unconscious after Peter punched her accidentally into a locker because of a "nervous twitch" he developed trying to ask her to the prom. Peter mentions when he is trying to speed things up in bed, he thinks of Phoebe.
• Patty - An obvious parody of The Peanuts character. She is a lesbian with Marcie.
• Mr. Fargus - Peter's favorite teacher. He taught Peter how to dance. He lost his job because he had students breaking eggs of the California Condor. He was given his job back at the end of the same episode Running Mates, but it is implied that he was killed by a hall monitor robot similar to the antagonist in one of the Robocop movies.
• Eric - Peter knew Eric in high school. In One If By Clam, Two If By Sea, he is the red guy in Tron.
• Randy Fulcher - In high school, he bullied Peter by repeatedly pulling down his pants. Currently, he is an insurance salesman with multiple sclerosis. Peter mistook Randy's "MS" abbreviation as "monkey scrotum".

Lois' school friends

• Ross Fishman – Former boyfriend from college.
• Coco – Lois's childhood friend. Jonathan thinks she's "a little bit of terrific".
• Jonathan – Coco's husband.
• Chaim Witz (Gene Simmons) - Slept with Lois in high school.

Channel 5 (WQHG)

The local television station in Quahog. In the episode "The Kiss Seen Around the World", both Meg Griffin and Neil Goldman worked there as interns.

• Tom Tucker – News Anchor.
• Diane Simmons – News Anchor and talk show hostess. (Birth name: Diane Seidelman). Has been quoted (on-air) to say, "I just plain don't like black people." She and fellow anchor Tom Tucker have a hate-hate relationship with each other, often trading insults live on the air. On one occasion, Tom said "didn't your first husband blow his brains out?", causing her to break down and cry on the air, indicating that this had indeed happened. Typical quote: "Tom, you're so deep in the closet, you're finding Christmas presents." She has been known to have male prostitutes delivered to her dressing room. She also has her own talk show, and was going to star in Peter's version of "The King and I" before resigning in disgust. Voiced by Lori Alan.
• Asian Reporter Tricia Takanawa – Asian News Reporter. She is always described as "Asian Reporter Tricia Takanawa," even in conversation. A parody of Connie Chung (other characters occasionally call her Connie). Interestingly and unlike her fellow newspeople, Tricia often displays an especially stoic attitude, even during sex, perhaps to contrast the fact that she's most often live in the field. Voiced by Alex Borstein.
  • Alex Borstein may have based her voice on Sue Napersville, a character she played on Mad TV with the same voice, and also a field reporter.
  • She may also be based on Fox News Channel reporter Jane Yamamoto, to whom Tricia Takanawa is closer in appearance. Other evidence is that Jane and Tricia are both Japanese (unlike the Chinese Chung) and both Field Reporters while Connie Chung was an Anchor at the time of the show's inception.
  • In "Da Boom", Tricia was eaten by Tom Tucker and Diane Simmons, and Peter remarked that they would be "hungry in another hour" (a reference to the joke about eating Asian food).
  • In Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, Diane confirmed that she is Japanese—Takanawa is a Japanese name—after Tom was confused about what heritage she is (Chinese or Japanese).
  • In "Brian in Love" Quagmire sleeps with her and thinks she's Spanish, quoting, "Heh, heh, I've never been with a Spanish chick before, Ole!!" (although Quagmire is not known to be overly intelligent or culturally sensitive).
  • In "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story", she really has a thing for David Bowie and has dry humped his leg at least once while screaming in a demeaning stereotypical manner which her co-workers say 'set her people back'.
  • The character was created by Family Guy writer Neil Goldman who named her after his local sushi restaurant.
• Hispanic Reporter Maria Jiminez - In the episode One If By Clam, Two If By Sea, Maria Jiminez is a Hispanic reporter. She was reporting live at the Griffin's home to get Peter Griffin who "supposedly" burned down Mr. Pinchley's bar.
• Ollie Williams – An African American with the BlaccuWeather forecast (name taken from AccuWeather). Like Asian Reporter Tricia Takanawa, Ollie Williams is a parody of racial tokenism within television news. Ollie speaks only in short, booming phrases, such as, "ISS GON' RAIN!" Apparently an antithetical parody of Al Roker, who looks similar. Voiced by Phil LaMarr. Ollie has many jobs in the news station, appearing at various events and screaming his trademark phrases.

Other announcers

• Dirk Bandit - Sports Anchor. He only appeared in one episode, "If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin'." He did a feature on Johnny Gobraun, a terminally ill 8-yr old, who dreamed of playing quarterback. This eventually lead Peter to lie about Chris's sickness to get "Gumbel to Gumbel" back on the air.
• Greg the Weather Mime – A mime, who Tom Tucker presents to do the weather in One If by Clam, Two If by Sea. He uses body language and hand gestures to convey the weather, while Tom Tucker interprets it as "people's angry parents throwing feces at them". He has only appeared once as a weather forecaster, presumably because he was fired for being unintelligible, or he quit because of Tom Tucker's interpretations of his body language. Either way, it is likely Ollie Williams has replaced him as a weather forecaster. According to the Official Family Guy Episode Guide for Seasons 1-3, Seth MacFarlane claims to have a script entitled "Greg the Weather Mime Has a Baby," which he plans to use as an actual episode to burn off if Family Guy reaches a 17th season.
• Hispanic Reporter Maria Jimenez – Hispanic News Reporter; rarely featured, usually only if Asian Reporter Tricia Takanawa is already somewhere else or is absent. Tom Tucker cannot pronounce her name.
• Jay Mohr-lookalike – Producer who creates the Griffin TV show. Voiced by Jay Mohr.
• Peter Griffin - In Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, he had a segment on the Channel 5 News titled, "Grinds My Gears." His trademark line was, "You know what really grinds my gears...?" followed by rambling, such as "When I can't find the droids I'm looking for!" This segment parodies John Stossel's "Give Me a Break" feature on 20/20. After being fired from the station while on the air, Peter stated, "You know what really grinds my gears? You, America. Fuck you!"
• Steven C. Callaghan – Station Manager. Named after one of the Family Guy crew members.

Criminals

• The Don ("There's Something About Paulie") – Mafia Boss of Rhode Island.
• Big Fat Paulie – Nephew of the Don (voiced by Michael Chiklis), he was an incredibly annoying and obnoxious man. He was eventually riddled with bullets in a drive-by shooting. (deceased)
• Larry – Mafia Hitman, hired by Big Fat Paulie to kill Lois. Larry is son-in-law to The Don.
• The Don's Daughter – She is married to Larry.
• Steve Bellows ("One If by Clam, Two If by Sea") – Murderer, arrested by Joe Swanson. Once shot a man for snoring. Threatened to kill Peter and his friends when they are jailed. Turned over a new leaf (maybe) when he stabbed himself and discovered that it hurts. "Is this what I've been doing to people? God ... I belong in here!" he said.
• Car Wash Thief ("Ready, Willing, and Disabled") – A thief shown wearing a Jimmy Carter mask. After stealing collected car wash money to help a boy at Chris's school who has an iron lung, Joe chased after him. While he managed to retrieve the money, he didn't catch the crook, which soon lead him into a state of depression. When someone finally arrived to claim the money clip that Chris, Meg and Stewie found, Joe recognized him as the car wash thief. Joe chased him again, this time leading to the thief's apprehension and his death, due to Joe accidentally rupturing his spine. This entire segment was a parody of a scene from the 1991 Keanu Reeves police-and-surfing movie Point Break, in which the gang of bank robbers, "The Ex-Presidents," wear similar rubber masks. • Unknown male ("To Love and Die in Dixie") – Chris picked him out of a police lineup after witnessing him hold up a convenience store and steal his bike. He later escaped from jail and sought revenge on Chris (whose name he got from Peter, along with a photo of Chris, his school schedule, and a list of his fears). The Griffin family was then forced into the Witness Protection Program and temporarily relocated to the town of Bumblescum, in the Deep South. Thanks to incompetent FBI agents, he found Chris by telling them that he had a package for Chris's sister. He was shot dead by Sam's father before he could get his revenge. He did appear beforehand in "The Kiss Seen Around the World" as the "Mass Media Murderer"(deceased)

Geronimo's Palace Casino Indian Casino

• Leonard Cornfeathers – A Native American businessman who runs the Geronimo's Palace Casino. He is voiced by Bobby Slayton.
• Frank – An Elder from the Tribal Council.
• Carrot Scalp – A parody of the comedian Carrot Top. An awful prop comedian who performs at the casino lounge. Voiced by Seth Green.
• Change For A Buck – Employee.
• Deals With His Wrist – Card dealer.
• Sees You Coming - Employee who encourages Lois to start gambling.
• Watches You Pee – Bathroom attendant.
• Skips On Maintenance - Fixes machines in the casino.

Hospital

• Barber Shop Quartet ("The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire") – Appear whenever someone needs to explain something medical related, or inform a patient of a diagnosis (with a catchy song and dance routine). They appear in a cutaway to break the bad news to terminally ill patients, who have full-blown AIDS. Later appear to explain to Peter what a vasectomy is, along with a joke about a sexual harassment seminar speaker who has large breasts. Occasionally the Bass part is shifted between two similar characters; it is likely this is a goof.
• Dr. Elmer Hartman – First seen as Stewie's Pediatrician. Has been sued by every patient he ever had due to the fact he's not very good with his job. Dr. Hartman is, however, the most commonly seen physician on the show. He is known for stalling by means of various shtick. He is played by Seth MacFarlane (MacFarlane points out during a DVD commentary that Dr. Hartman's voice and the voice he does for Lois' father are nearly identical; fortunately, this has not been easily picked up upon by a majority of viewers as neither of the characters have appeared in a scene together). In "Stewie Loves Lois", Hartman got his license revoked as revenge for him reaching into Peter's butt during a prostate examination, but by the end of the episode they work things out and get it restored. Also known for messing with Peter and Lois' minds in episodes like "Blind Ambition" and "The Fat Guy Strangler".
• Dr. Kaplan – Brian's psychiatrist. Voiced by Sam Waterston and later by Wally Wingert.
• Dr. Gregory Ryan("Wasted Talent") – Brian's veterinarian
• Dr. Ling ("The Kiss Seen Around the World") – A specialist in acupuncture. He is Chinese, but speaks with an Irish brogue. Rejected by Brian as a quack. Stores his "acupuncture needles" box next to his "poison tipped needles". Is apparently either illiterate, cannot read English, or farsighted.
• Dr. Gary Miller ("Wasted Talent") – Lois' Gynecologist. He shares his medical practice with Dr. Fred Rubin.
• Unnamed Black Doctor ("The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz") - Stewie's Doctor who diagnoses him with a temporary Toxic Anaemia, substantially weakening him immune system. Stewie is then forced to stay within the confines of a sterile environment- first a box, then a ball to enable him to exercise. Just before collapsing with a fever, Stewie says "Don't... don't take me to a black Doctor", which is immediately followed by his diagnosis from the black doctor.
• Dr. Fred Rubin – Gynecologist who shares his medical practice with Dr. Gary Miller. One of his patients is Alexis Radcliffe.
• Meg's Gynecologist – Meg's unnamed gynecologist. Meg was upset when she found out that he did not finish medical school, in fact pronouncing vagina as "bergina".

God in church

• God – Takes an active interest in the goings-on of Quahog and is often involved in humorous situations. Gets really embarrassed when anybody tells the story of Job. Has been portrayed on more than one occasion as a lady's man. Has a girlfriend, Janet, who makes Him wear condoms. (He has another girlfriend named Karen.) He and Jesus have been known to ride in a Cadillac Escalade, and He accidentally started a fire in the Drunken Clam after vaporizing a woman with a bolt of lightning, whilst flirting with her. Apparently started the Big Bang by lighting one of His farts. Was beaten up by Albert Einstein, who then stole the formula for Shrinky Dinks from Him. He owns a sniper rifle with a laser sight, with which He intended to kill Meg after she moaned "Oh, God, kill me now!" Does not find a plastic bag blowing in the wind impressive. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane and also appears in American Dad!.

Jesus being cool

• Jesus – Performs miracles around Quahog. His portrayal in Family Guy seems to be intentionally comically sacrilegious. In the movie, Stewie once went back in time to visit Him, but he finds out all He really did do was dance, sing, and perform phony magic finger tricks, all at the same time. (The finger magic show was taken from "The Farley Family Reunion," a one-man show performed by James Arrington.) In modern times, however, Jesus is able to turn water into funk. Stewie also said that when he was on the other side, he learned that Jesus was Chinese, that His last name is really "Hong", and that He has no idea where people are getting Christ. (This may be a reference to Hong Xiuquan, a Chinese revolutionary who claimed to be the brother of Jesus.) He also starred opposite Chris Tucker in the Passion of the Christ 2: Crucify This. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• Satan/The Devil - Appears when Peter said he would sell his soul to be famous. Satan was about to make his claim, when his secretary told him that Peter had already sold his soul for Bee Gees tickets, and again for half of a Mallomar. Satan asks for a lawyer, and everyone in Hell raises their hand. When Peter got to play for the New England Patriots in the episode Patriot Games, he thanks the devil for his chance to play for them. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• Super Devil: - Greater threat to salvation than Satan. Is at least 6 inches taller, pilots a flying chopper, and carries a jar of marmalade that is assumed to cause whoever eats it to commit adultery. Killed by Brian, who shot a pistol into the air and hit him with a stray bullet. He is seen in a picture with George W. Bush, indicating the Superdevil and Bush are friends. (deceased)

Death pontificating

• Death – Harvests the souls of the dead. Portrayed as a "loser" who still lives with his mother, has asthma (seen taking an inhaler) and has never had a successful date. He apparently hates the fact that he is dead and the fact that he has no buttocks. He doesn't seem to be very good at his job, as he is easily fooled by faked deaths. Peter Griffin once stood in for him, tasked with killing the kids from Dawson's Creek. Peter failed in this endeavor, accidentally killing the pilot and co-pilot of the plane, which was safely landed by Karen Black. Voiced by Norm MacDonald in "Death is a Bitch", then Adam Carolla in all subsequent episodes, including (but not limited to) "Death Lives", "Mr. Saturday Knight", "The Perfect Castaway", and "Meet the Quagmires." He also appears to have time travel abilities. He is not above necrophilia, although his romantic interests focus mainly on the living. He has lost his gag reflex due to films he is not proud of.
  • Death's Mom – Death's nagging mom. She tells her son all manner of bizarre warnings (such as "If you don't zip up your fly a seagull will get you!") Voiced by Estelle Harris.
  • Death's Dog – Harvests the souls of dead dogs. Similar to the Death of Rats from Discworld and to Brian in his deadpan voice and red collar. Voiced by Jimmy Kimmel.
• Krishna – Hindu deity, appeared briefly when Peter erroneously thanked Jesus on one occasion, but deferred credit for the miracle, telling Jesus, "No, it's all right. I'm used to it."
• Neptune – Greco-Roman god of the sea. Peter attempted to pass himself off as Neptune, only to be confronted seconds later by the real Neptune, telling Peter, "No you're not, I am! And you know nothing of my work." (A possible reference to a sketch in the Woody Allen movie Annie Hall, in which a man in a movie theater line makes a reference to the work of Marshall McLuhan to which Woody Allen's frustrated character responds by introducing him to Marshall McLuhan, whom he brings out from behind a sign, who replies "You know nothing of my work.")

Mayor Adam West at his desk

• Adam West – Mayor of Quahog, voiced by the real life Adam West. Extremely incompetent and eccentric, he displays more than a few traits of delusional mental illness.
• Al Harrington - Only appeared in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. A salesman who sells Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men. He states that they can "Attract customers to your business, make a splash at your next presentation, keep grandma company, protect your crops, confuse your neighbors, African-American? Hail a cab, testify in church, or just raise the roof." It is stated that his store, "Al Harrington's Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man Emporium and Warehouse", is located on Route 2 in Weekapaug.
• Amy – Only appeared in the episode, "Death Lives". Works in a pet shop. Death had a crush on her, but killed her when she turned out to be irritating. (deceased)
• Antonio Monatti – An Art Dealer, he becomes Chris Griffin's mentor.
• Arsonist Bug - A giant fire-breathing cockroach that was a suspect in the burning of the Clam's Head Pub. He is now conspiring with Stewie and Eliza to kill Lois. His only spoken phrase is "Gooooood...gooooood."
• Bee - A large bee found in the wilderness near Quagmire's cabin in "It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One". The bee idly threatens Peter and Chris during their walk, but decides not to sting them. Later in the same episode, Bee flies into Mayor West's office during an argument between Mayor West and Lois, sits in the mayor's chair, proclaims himself mayor, and imagines the fanfare that would result from him issuing free honey to everyone, but stings himself and dies moments later. His voice is identical to Bruce the Performance Artist.(deceased)
  • In "If it Takes a Village Idiot, I Married One", the Bee (who speaks as Bruce) says "I'm just gonna head on over to that flower and suck on that stamen like there's no tomorrow", which serves to further the rumor that Bruce is homosexual.
• Bernie – Manager of Quahog Shady Oaks Retirement Home.
• Brad - A toddler who upstaged Stewie at swimming lessons.
• Buzz Killington - a very eccentric looking man who appears in "Whistle While Your Wife Works" he appears at a party in which Peter and some nameless guys are engaged in happy drinking he then proceeds to "kill their Buzz" by showing them etchings of a man attempting to ride a bicycle, but he clearly has trouble on account of being a Scot.
• Candy Tree - A talking tree that resides in the Griffin's back yard. As the name implies, candy hangs from the tree's branches like fruit. Peter warned Chris and Meg not to go near it, and it responded with "He's right to caution you. I feed on children." just before gulping down a passing girl with its long sticky tongue.
• Charlie the Bully – Once stole Stewie's tricycle.
• Chief Uleke - The chief of the village in "Jungle Love".
• Chuggs - God's roommate (according to Peter). After God beat him in arm wrestling, Chuggs gave God his lighter and God farted into the flame which, apparently, created the universe.
• Deer - When Peter realized he failed as a father to Chris during a camping trip, he offered to give up Chris to adoption, although Joe, Quagmire, and Cleveland declined, a deer said he would take him in, but halfway through his speech he was shot dead and dragged away by a hunter. He is a possible reference of the Great Prince from Bambi.
• Dora – Prostitute. Once hired by Peter to pose as an old girlfriend to make Lois jealous.
• Doug the Pimple – Only appeared in the episode "Brian the Bachelor". A zit on Chris' face. His voice and dialogue with Chris are a parody of the 1980s musical film Little Shop of Horrors. Eventually was killed by a cortisone injection. Also had many short-lived pimple friends. (deceased)
• Dr. Diddy - His name is a cross between Dr. Dre and Diddy. In the episode "Don't Make Me Over", he was a manager for the Griffins, but Brian used ferocious barking around him to freak him out. After he left the first time, Brian said, "You guys know I have no problem with black people, right?" Has a degree in optometry.
• Erica – Appeared on Diane Simmons' talk show. Her boyfriend is Mario. She also witnessed Quagmire save a woman's life in "Blind Ambition". Is also marching in the Gay Pride Parade run over by Stewie in the opening credits in "PTV"
• Felicia – Works at dog pound. Helped Brian study law and prepare his case before the City Council when he was wrongfully imprisoned at the pound. She had a penchant for calling him "sugar" and "sweetness".
• Flappy Jack – Runs a pancake house. Once hired Meg, as he thought she was the single, teenage mother of Stewie.
• Fran – Only appeared in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. Woman who works at the Quahog Circuit Shack with Stu, the adult Stewie. Stu loses his virginity to her, but he ends up crying for 40 minutes after only eight seconds of sex, and loses his job as a result.
• Gary the No-Trash Cougar – Only appeared in the episode "Blind Ambition". A character Peter dressed up as to teach kids not to litter in an attempt to be remembered. Uses a gun to scare them and force them to pick up their trash. His meaningless catchphrase is "Give a larbage, throw out your garbage." This is a reference to "Give a hoot, don't pollute", the original catch phrase of Woodsy Owl in his public-service television announcements.
• Gerald the happy and abstinent police clown – Only appeared in the episode "The Thin White Line". A happy and abstinent police clown. Why is he happy? Because he is free of S...T...Ds!
• Ernie the Giant Chicken - A Chicken who holds a grudge against Peter, whose real name is Ernie, revealed in "No Chris Left Behind".
  • He first appears in a flashback during the episode "Da Boom", where he gave out an expired coupon, infuriating Peter. This led to a very long fight between them. Eventually, Peter knocks him out by repeatedly slamming his head into a photocopier, but the chicken recovers and fights back. Peter and the chicken end up falling out of a window from the top floor of a skyscraper, with the chicken hitting the ground first and Peter landing on top of him. Peter walks away thinking he's dead, but a close up shows the chicken's eye opening.
  • The chicken makes his second appearance in the episode "Blind Ambition", unexpectedly attacking Peter. Once again, they have a protracted fight that ends when the chicken is struck by the propeller of an airplane, a parody of a scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Once again, Peter thinks he's dead, but the chicken's foot moves, implying he is still alive.
  • The chicken makes his third appearance in the episode "No Chris Left Behind". This fight is the longest and most elaborate thus far; the giant chicken appears while Peter is talking with Lois, and just happens to notice him, (he is speaking to Lois at the time and pauses uttering "Oh, crap!" just seconds before the chicken comes through the window) and the fight commences. They fall into a sewer after fighting into the street and then beat up and kill an alligator which Ernie hits Peter over the head with. They climb into the subway station and onto a train where they make their way to the front of the subway and the subway derails and flies into the streets and comes to a stop. They climb out and step onto an rising pile of bricks in a construction site, where they try to knock each other off. they stop and get off on one of the steel girders where they continue fighting until it tips over and they go flying in the air and land on a plane where the Chicken throws a snake at him and the plane flies into a Ferris wheel that breaks and goes rolling. The Ferris wheel rolls into a building that collapses. They get up and continue fighting. At one point during the fight they stop, baffled as to the original point of contention, and cease hostilities. As an apology Ernie and his wife, Nicole, attempt to treat Peter to dinner, but an argument over who will pay the bill resumes the fight yet again (note: Peter pays the bill while fighting the chicken), in addition to Peter's disrespect for Nicole. The fight ends in the restaurant's kitchen where Peter temporarily blinds the giant chicken with scalding water from a boiling pot, then bludgeons the chicken over the head a number of times, crushing his skull. The bird is left for dead yet again, but a final close-up reveals he is still alive. This the longest and most violent fight out of all of them, as several people die while Peter and the Chicken fight, including several people being crushed by an off-rail subway train (as well as the train driver, who is pushed out the front window and is run over offscreen), a man falling from an airplane, and several people under a collapsing building.
  • Ernie makes his fourth and most recent(Cameo) appearance in "Meet the Quagmires" where Peter goes back in time and is 18 years old. At a country club party, while dancing with Lois, Peter accidentally hits Ernie(Note: this marks the first time that Peter and Ernie don't fight). Ernie gets frustrated but his friend cools him down saying he'll probably never see Peter again. Thus pointing to a cause for Ernie's initial act of giving Peter an expired coupon.
  • In the video game, Peter sees Mr. Belvedere in the Drunken Clam. It turns out to be the chicken in disguise. They engage in a cross-city battle again, until Peter defeats him in a building rigged to blow. Peter jumps out of the building as it blows up (landing on Meg). The family walks off, Peter thinking it's gone, but it isn't. The force of the explosion hurls the chicken on the roof of a skyscraper. (Where Mayor Adam West is using the signal as revealed.) The chicken gets up and walks off.
• Gloria Ironbox – Only appeared in the episode, "I Am Peter, Hear Me Roar". Renowned feminist lawyer and campaigner, represented Sarah Bennett in sexual harassment lawsuit against Peter. Presumed a lesbian by many, and a parody of Gloria Allred. Voiced by Candice Bergen.
• "Harelip Steve" – Works for Stewie's cleaning company. Has a harelip.
• Henry – Security guard at Quahog Airport. Was frozen in carbonite by Stewie.

Herbert with his walker

• Herbert – An old gay ephebophile who resides just down the street from the Griffins and impotently lusts after Chris. He uses a walker for support and speaks with a lisp in a high-pitched, comedically drawn out tone of voice. Has a dog named Jessie that moves by dragging itself on the ground. Voiced by Mike Henry.
  • The character was initially created by Mike Henry as a sweet old man, before becoming an ephebophile after Mike Henry pitched a joke on the subject. It was also suggested that Herbert could be the school bus driver who would tell the kids that they couldn't get on unless they kissed the cheek, but that idea was rejected.
• Hidalgo - Chief Uleke's son. ("Jungle Love")
• Horace – Runs the Drunken Clam pub. Frequently has very interesting stories, but always refuses to tell for fear of boring his patrons.
• Jack – Runs local National Gun Association branch. Has an extremely tiny penis. Voiced by Patrick Duffy.
• Jeremy – Only appeared in the episode "8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter". Liddane's boyfriend. Locked in Brian's car trunk for two weeks. Stewie believes he likes playing hackey sack, has Teva sandals, Skoal Bandits, an Abercrombie and Fitch long sleeved, open stitched, crew neck Henley, smokes Sticky Buds out of a soda can, watches downloaded episodes of The Simpsons every night, his favorite episode being Mr. Plow, and he likes to listen to the Strokes. (deceased)
• Jillian is Brian's incredibly hot and just as incredibly dumb girlfriend, seen in "Whistle While Your Wife Works", "Prick Up Your Ears", "Chick Cancer", "Barely Legal", and "Boys Do Cry". The only girlfriend Brian has had for more than one episode, he stays with her purely for sex, while Stewie and Lois find her stupidity hilarious and mock Brian about it. She, Peter and Chris however seem to share the same level of intellect and get along rather well. She is bulimic, which has resulted in her no longer being able to get her period. Brian often uses a flashlight to distract Jillian when he does not wish to go out. She is voiced by Drew Barrymore.
• Jim Kaplan – Con man and salesman, goes under many other names. Many of his cons are directed at Peter, as he is so easy to fool. Has sold Peter a car with a steering wheel made out of cardboard and no engine, but allegedly owned by James Bond; volcano insurance; a loan in exchange for Peter's house; a TiVo; a tank; and a blanket sleeper with drop flap. He also works as a tattoo artist and once drew a picture of Kermit the Frog on a biker's thigh, despite the fact that the biker wanted a skull. "A Fish Out of Water". Voiced by Danny Smith.
• Jolene – Works at Airport check-in.
• Kimmy - The check-out girl from the Korean market. Was one of Peter's wives when he became a Mormon.
• Liddane – Only appeared in the episode "8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter". Pronounced "La Dawn". Babysitter that Stewie had a crush on. Presumably named for production controller Liddane Sanders.
• Lance - Works at the Drunken Clam, has one leg shorter than the other.
• Loca - Seen in "Jungle Love". Chief Uleke's daughter and Chris's wife. She is the daughter of a tribal chieftain in South America. When Chris joins the Peace Corps, he is sent to live at their village. During his stay, he moves the entire tribe to dance, which, according to a tribal custom, said Chris and Loca were married. Chris actually seemed very happy with Loca. According to Lois, God doesn't care about Loca. She stays in South America with her father after the tribe attempted to kill Chris for being a freshman.
• Logan – Works for Quahog Pest Control. His family was carried away by red ants.
• Mario – Appeared on Diane's talk show. Boyfriend of Erica. Admitted to actually being a woman, then a horse, then a broom.
• Mark Hentemann – Local Comedian. All his impressions sound the same, but only because everybody in his life did. Named after Family Guy writer/producer Mark Hentemann.
• Max Weinstein – Jewish Accountant. Helps Peter with his taxes. He was the Jewish character in the episode "When You Wish upon a Weinstein", a controversial episode often linked with the show's initial cancellation. Voiced by Peter Riegert.
• Miles "Chatterbox" Musket – Only appeared in the episode "Fifteen Minutes of Shame". Nicknamed Chatterbox because he never stopped talking. Miles and his magic clam founded Quahog. Said by Adam West to have died of a combination of tuberculosis and a tomahawk to the head. (deceased)
• Miss Stratford – IRS worker.
• Miss Watson – Director of Quahog women's retreat.
• Misty – Appears at many parties on Spooner Street. Once lent Stewie a Barney pen.
• Mr. Hanson – Business man who attended a sensitivity training course with Peter.
• Mr. Giraffe – One of Stewie's favorite toys.
• Mr. Oinkbaum - Stewie's piggybank, smashed during "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" for money for a plane ticket to San Francisco. (deceased)
• Mr. Penisburg - Meg's Superstore U.S.A. boss in the episode "Hell Comes to Quahog". Mr. Penisburg is promoting Meg, and her first job is to fire Peter Griffin her father. Instead Meg resigns, saying to Mr. Penisburg, "Mr. Penisburg, I resign", causing Peter to laugh. He later appears to have been crushed by a sign in the later-destroyed Superstore U.S.A., but whether or not he survived is still likely to be unknown. (Possibly/Probably Deceased)
• Nancy – The Griffins' mail carrier. Was one of Peter's wives when he became a Mormon.
• Nicole - Ernie the Giant Chicken's wife. Voiced by Alex Borstein.
• Officer Reeses- Only appeared in the episode, "PTV". A Police officer in one of Peters Flash backs that finds a car wreck with two cars smashed into each other and one person was in each car and one person had been eating chocolate and the other had been eating peanut butter and both their foods got mixed. When the officer came he saw the horrible wreck and also saw the mixture. He takes a bite and tastes it. His eyes widen and then he pulls out his gun and shoots both of them.
• Opie – A ward of the state who is severely retarded (much more so than Peter), but for some reason he is much more respected, and is even promoted ahead of Peter.
• Paddy Tanninger (the Caddy Manager) – Manager of Quahog golf course. Hired Chris as a 'ball shagger', which immediately doubled his business because everyone wanted to "nail the fat kid". Prior to his job as the caddy manager, he managed Brian at the Quahog Hummer Dealership in "The Perfect Castaway." Wants to fight over practically everything. His catch phrase is "Big whoop, wanna fight about it?" He gets run over... by a tank... twice, in "Hell Comes to Quahog" and is assumed to be dead. (deceased)
• Pawtucket Pat – Ran the Pawtucket Patriot Brewery until he sold it sometime before the episode "Jungle Love". He is rarely seen in public. An obvious parody of Willy Wonka. Voiced by Michael McKean.
• Pearl Burton – Only appeared in the episode "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows". A jingle singer from the early 40's and 50's; also an accomplished mezzo-soprano. She sang jingles for Dan's Dippity Do and Gold Bond Powder, among many others. Became a recluse out of shame when she attempted to cross over into opera by singing Carmen at Carnegie Hall but the audience only wanted to hear her sing her jingles. Brian was ordered to bring her meals as part of Community Service for a DUI. They ended up falling in love, but she was run over by a truck after stepping out of her house for the first time in 30 years to have dinner with Brian. Voiced by Alex Borstein. (deceased)
• Bruce/Tobi the Performance Artist - Mustached, possibly Southern and/or homosexual man who speaks in a calm, drawn-out voice with a slight lisp. In an earlier episode (Griffin Family History) his ancestor was named Tobi (with an 'i' which he commented on using a smiley face 'i'), his modern day incarnation was referred to by name as Bruce in the episode "No Chris Left Behind", and comments on the fact. In "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" he teaches a CPR course, and in "Peter's Got Woods" appears on the school board committee of James Woods Regional High School. Also appears in the Tetris cutaway gag of "Prick Up Your Ears", and plays a large role in "Petergeist" as a medium. The question that he may be a homosexual is also raised in "Petergeist" as he holds a séance, as well as in "Barely Legal" wherein he volunteers to cavity search Quagmire. He may have also worked as a voice-over artist, as seen in "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz" when it was seen that a shark in "Jaws 5: Fire Island" had the same voice as he did in the film. He tries to be friendly sometimes, but perhaps due to the way he talks, people are put off by the offer, as in "Chitty Chitty Death Bang" in which he worked at Exotic Entertainment and offered to entertain at Stewie's birthday party by "making pretend your children are little bugs caught in my web". Voiced by Mike Henry.
  • In "If it Takes a Village Idiot, I Married One", the Bee (see above) speaks as Bruce. The bee says "I'm just gonna head on over to that flower and suck on that stamen like there's no tomorrow", which serves to further the rumor that Bruce is homosexual.
• Phineas and Barnaby – Turn of the Century-style Strongmen. Possess near-inhuman strength, and like to ride on a gigantic penny-farthing bicycle. Their names are a reference to Phineas T. Barnum founder of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane and Wally Wingert.
• President Douchebag - Mentioned in "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" as being extremely popular, and serving a full 2 terms.
• Rabbi Goldberg – Quahog's Rabbi, voiced by Ben Stein.
• Reginald B. Stifworth – Only appeared in the episode, "There's Something About Paulie". A young upstart chap who's been touting the merits of a United European Commonwealth. He is the victim of a drive-by argument.
• Randy Fulcher - has MS; used to bully Peter while in school. Appeared in The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
• Ricardo - Married to Jasper. Does not speak any English. Described at 'skinny and hairless', from the Philippines (and Jaspers kitchen floor). Only seen in "Brian Does Hollywood", "You May Now Kiss the...Uh...Guy Who Receives" and for a split second with Jasper in the Gay Pride Parade run over by Stewie in the opening credits of "PTV".
• Rupert – Stewie's favorite teddy bear. Stewie treats Rupert as if he were real, and Stewie thinks he is gay. He was once left in charge of watching the bags when waiting to board a plane, which got stolen because, according to Stewie, he was "looking at the boys again", including one who looked like Tab Hunter. Apparently, Stewie sees him as an athletic man with a teddy bear's head, as seen in the episode "Stewie Loves Lois." The British punk band The Toy Dolls has made a song called "Rupert the Bear", released in 1989.
• Sam – Bumblescum inhabitant. Chris' first girlfriend. Chris originally believed Sam was a boy.
• Sandy - Only appeared in the episode, "Death Is a Bitch." One of Death's first girlfriends, and who he most likely lost his virginity with. Died in sexual intercourse with Death, and later had necrophilia committed on her by Death. (deceased)
• Tiffany - Filthy homeless woman who screams at traffic. Was one of Peter's wives when he became a Mormon.
• Tina - Hooker and crack whore Brian takes up relations with when he becomes addicted to cocaine after a brief and successful run as a narcotics dog in The Thin White Line.
• Vanessa – Chris's wife in the future in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story Very foul-mouthed. Before Stewie returns from the future to the present time, he is asked by Lois to prevent Vanessa (whom she referred as a bitch) from marrying Chris. He does so by blowing her up on the altar with a shoulder-launched missile weapon. Voiced by Alex Borstein. (deceased)
• Vern and Johnny– A vaudeville duo who usually shows up in random places for no apparent reason. In one episode , it is given that the performer/singer's name is Vern, who (when something they say or do usually fails) always says to the pianist, "Play me off, Johnny!", which means that the pianist's name is Johnny. They appeared in the Quahog Talent Show with a dog performing tricks. Were killed off by Stewie in "Saving Private Brian". Verne was voiced by Seth MacFarlane, and Johnny never spoke. (deceased)
• Victor - Actor and producer friend of Olivia, Stewie's ex-wife in Chick Cancer. Records ideas for short stories on a toy tape recorder. Caught cheating with Olivia, but is in her house when Stewie burns it down. Voiced by Alan Alda. (presumed deceased)
• Vinny - Chief Uleke's cousin, a caricature of Joe Pesci in the movie My Cousin Vinny. (Jungle Love)
• Warren Fredericks – Runs Quahog Beautiful People's Club. Believes the doors in supermarkets would open for him because he's beautiful, even if they weren't designed to open automatically.

New Yorker employees

Brian, in the episode "Brian Goes Back to College", briefly had a job working at The New Yorker. These were his co-workers identified in that episode (whose names are all amusingly pompous and upper crust.)

• Amelia Bedford-Furthington-Chesterhill - Apparently the only female employee.
• Fielding Wellingtonsworth - Offered Brian tea.
• James William Bottomtooth - Has a severe underbite, and therefore, speaks unintelligibly. In the episode "You May Now Kiss the...Uh...Guy Who Receives", we learn that he lives in Quahog, is a fundamentalist Christian, and can play the piano while he sings; he refused to sign a same-sex marriage petition being circulated by Brian. In the episode No Chris Left Behind, it is revealed he has a relative named James William Bottomtooth IV.
• Livingstone Winsterford - Offered Brian a cigar.
• Wellesley Shepherdson - The editor at The New Yorker who hired Brian, but then fired him when Brian revealed that he was a college dropout. He has an extremely strange laugh, and no anus. ("Oh, nobody at The New Yorker has an anus!")

Nameless characters

• Cheesie Charlie's Manager - He is the manager of Cheesie Charlie's. He is vioced by Danny Smith.
• Clouds - Sentient clouds (one of whom is named "Bill") who plan to attack Quahog. They frequently procrastinate, and never get around to actually attacking. Luckily, Peter Griffin has cloud insurance.
• Cow – Talks about how she goes to Baskin Robbins every night and buys herself a little treat. Has a mincing male voice, but since she has udders, she is obviously a female. Also known to eat steaks. She also enjoys being milked, and being branded, as it sexually gratifies her. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• The Man In White – Only appeared in the episode, Chitty Chitty Death Bang. A cult leader who tries to get teens to commit suicide. (An obvious reference to Heaven's Gate cult leader Marshall Applewhite.) Killed by Stewie, who thought that he was trying to put him back in Lois' womb. (deceased) Voiced by John O'Hurley.
• Dead guy – Only appeared in the episode, "To Love and Die in Dixie". Chris was shown the Dead guy by Sam, his friend from Bumblescum. They poked him with a stick, with Chris remarking, "the best things in life really are free!" (obviously deceased)
• The other dead guy - Only appeared in the episode, Don't Make Me Over. Meg found him in the woods, and believing him to still be alive (or at least pretending), brings him food every day. He is seen lying face down in the grass, surrounded by the food Meg has brought him. She talks to him, and believes he doesn't reply because he is "such a good listener". He then has his arm ripped off by a wolf, and Meg then says how good he is with animals. (deceased)
• The Deer – A sentient deer who can drive cars and snowmobiles. First appeared when he and Peter were involved in an auto accident, and again when Peter and Chris went hunting, following his snowmobile tracks. Who appears again when Peter was trying to find someone to take Chris, to teach him to be a better person, the deer volunteers but is gunned down before he can take Chris. (deceased)
• Electrician - The electrician who Peter draws naked thinking he is "art" so to speak. He resembles a Kathy Character.
• German Tour Guide – Only appeared in the episode, "Road to Europe". Suspiciously in denial of German history between 1939 and 1945 stating, "Nothing happened; everyone was on vacation." Then yelled in German, "You will sit down, you will be quiet you will not insult Germany!" all while doing the nazi salute. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• Greased Up Deaf Guy – Has been featured in several cameos since his first appearance in the 3rd season episode, "The Thin White Line". He can speak well, but somewhat out of tone, accentuating his parody of the hearing-impaired. He asks only that people "Don't judge me, I'm just doing my thing!" Voiced by Mike Henry.
  • First appeared as part of Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Company picnic competition called "Catch the Greased Up Deaf Guy".
  • Appeared in "North by North Quahog" claiming, "I used to be a lawyer." He hints at his law career ending due to a coke addiction.
  • In "Fast Times at Buddy Cianci, Jr. High", he was in the opening credits when they did the Law & Order parody.
  • He also seems to be giving Mort Goldman trouble at his pharmacy in the episode Model Misbehavior
  • In Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, he appears at the red carpet of the movie premiere, apparently now a folk legend and "ward of the state."
• Irish Constable – His vocabulary seems to consist only of "Awww, look at the little baby. Aren't you cute? Where's your Mommy?".
• Judge - Presides over most, if not, all of the trials in Quahog, including those with the Griffins.
• The Quahog Pest Control - Only appeared in the episode, "He's Too Sexy For His Fat". Quahog's exterminator patrol. They once cleared out the Griffins' flea infestation, but did so with laser-guided semi-automatic guns and grenades, a totally unnecessary treatment for such small creatures. They act like a SWAT team and seem to be scared of fleas, since they backed away from a single flea with no ideas whatsoever. One member, Logan, had his family taken away by fire ants.
• Man with long arms - Appears in the episode "Stuck Together, Torn Apart". Has very long arms. Tickled a midget in a tree (seemingly because an old woman told him to: "he's just helping that old woman tickle a midget in a tree"). He then tickles the midget and his wife when they jumped down a well.
• Woman Peter hits at soccer game – Obese woman who makes herself up and sounds very much like a man. Because of this, Peter believed she was one and punched her for insulting Chris. She was pregnant at the time and went into labor immediately after, giving birth to a girl. Peter gave her a black eye, but while under house arrest he sent her a jack-in-the-box as a peace offering which just ended up giving her a second black eye after it popped out.(Mind over Murder) Voiced by Alex Rocco.
• Son of woman Peter hits at soccer game – Plays on the opposing team of Chris Griffin. Voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
• The Giant Squid – A giant squid which the Griffins pretend does not exist. In one scene, the Giant Squid clears everything on the dinner table with a swipe from a tentacle, to which Lois and Peter reply "Uh... earthquake", "Yeah, a truck goin' by".
• Trees - Around Quahog are many trees with the ability to talk, usually through a knot in their trunk. The Candy Tree, a deadly variant native to Quahog, lures children in by growing what look to be large lollipops on its branches. When the children get close enough, they are eaten. This is a reference to the Kite-Eating Tree from Peanuts, which does the same thing to kites flown too close to it.
• Guy on the Elevator- A guy in The Untold Story movie who was being annoying on the elevator because he was losing his call on the phone and kept saying "Do you want to pick me up?". The scene stops, the elevator opens, and Stewie walks out whistling with the guy bleeding and twitching, then stops twitching. (McFarlane notes in the commentary that while it was the writers' intention for Stewie to kill the man, censors told him that the man must not die.)

• Abe Vigoda - Hiding behind a stratego box in Toys 'R' Overpriced in the episode "The Kiss Seen Around the World".
• Abraham Lincoln - Seen in various cutaway and flashback scenes, notably in the episode "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater" when Peter's wife inherits the 19th century "Cherrywood" estate. Lincoln appears in photographic evidence showing him as a patron of what turns out to have been the oldest Presidential whore house. In another cutaway, "God told Abraham to kill Isaac," so Lincoln kills the bartender from The Love Boat. He is also in the beginning of "Mind over Murder" for a Mentos ad.
• Adam and Eve - In the episode "Model Misbehavior" we see them after God has just completed the Garden of Eden. God warns them not to go near a specific tree, not because it has forbidden fruit on it (as in the legend), but because it is where God hides His pornographic magazines. Adam asks if they can sit under the tree, and God replies, "I would just not go near it at all."
• Adolf Hitler – Has made numerous appearances:
  • In "Death Has a Shadow", his extreme jealousy of a Jewish bodybuilder was presented as the cause of his anti-semitism.
  • In "Death is a Bitch" he was parodied as having his own talk show, Hitler!, where he asked Christian Slater if in his next movie, he'd be showing his butt. Hitler then asks if he could see Slater's butt now, to which Slater consents as Hitler excitedly exclaims "He's going to do it!!!"
  • In "8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter" a cutaway shows him with Eva Braun, during which they repeatedly wimp out of committing suicide.
  • In "Holy Crap" Peter fantasized about being in Hell, and he saw Hitler there.
  • In "I Never Met the Dead Man", Hitler, while running a German food tent, annexed his Polish neighbor, and then looked threateningly at the Czech kiosk.
  • In "Untitled Griffin Family History", Peter claimed that he is descended from Adolf Hitler's favorite brother.
• Albert Einstein – Apparently the only person who can sneak up on and attack God, seen in "The King is Dead" when he steals the secret of Shrinky Dinks from Him. He also stole his Theory of Relativity from "Smith" while working at the patent office.
• Alex Trebek - Cameo in the episode "I Take Thee Quagmire". On Jeopardy!, Adam West tricks Alex Trebek into saying his name backwards ("Kebert Xela"), sending him back to the fifth dimension in the same fashion as Superman's foe Mister Mxyzptlk.
• Alfred Hitchcock - Shadow seen in a hotel window while the classic theme of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" plays while Peter and Lois are having an affair, due to her marriage to Brian.
• Alyssa Milano - Featured in original live-action footage in "Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington" watching an episode of Family Guy in which Peter makes a joke about her. She angrily turns and calls out to her lawyer, Joel, (he's is in the same room), who quickly replies, "I'm suing, I'm suing! I'm on it, I'm on it!"
• Ashton Kutcher - In "I Take Thee Quagmire", He is seen as a victim on Peter's version of Punk'd, called Tomahawk'd, where he merely throws a tomahawk at him.
• Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield – A Prime Minister of Great Britain. In "One If by Clam, Two If by Sea" Lois says that all British men are charming, and Peter replies, "That's what they said about Benjamin Disraeli." The scene cuts to Disraeli writing at a desk in a Victorian study. He looks up and says, "You don't even know who I am," then continues writing.
• Bill Clinton – The former U.S. President has appeared in numerous cutaway scenes:
  • giving orders to the army completely naked. ("E. Peterbus Unum")
  • fondling Hillary Clinton when he believes the world is about to end. ("Da Boom")

• Bob Hope - Came back to life according to Channel 5 News, but was killed when he crashed his motorcycle while attempting to jump over some trash cans within about five minutes of him coming back to life. This was in the episode PTV.
• Bob Barker - This game show host has appeared several times.
  • In a flashback when Peter was on Survivor, he runs through the backdrop of the set, which rips down and ends up being next door to the set of The Price Is Right, during the Showcase Showdown.
  • In another cutaway, Brian is watching the end of The Price Is Right. After the "Keep your pets spayed or neutered" spiel, Brian responds, "Oh, just die already."
  • In another cutaway there are 4 contestants betting on a dinner set. After the second person bets $780 for the set, the 3rd contestant bet $781(a common occurrence). The 2nd contestant responded, "FUCK YOU!!!
• Bono - Appears in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story on a desert island with Peter and forbids him to eat food for the "starving children of the world." Either killed, or just very much unconscious after Peter throws a rock at his face after catching him eating the food.
• Britney Spears - Appears in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, when Stewie goes to the future with his future self, and Peter and Lois are old and grey-haired. Peter is watching Britney Spears' comeback concert. She is overweight and decidedly un-sexy, but claims that even though she might have lost a foot to diabetes, she is still sexy. She starts to dance in her wheelchair, but falls off the stage, catches fire, and presumably, burns to death. In an earlier episode, Peter, upon gaining shape-shifting powers, transforms himself to look like Britney in order to get a lock of Justin Timberlake's hair for Meg. In another episode, Britney is seen gorging herself at a buffet, with a weak-voiced fitness instructor in a chair behind her giving advice such as "You don't have to eat everything.", while being ignored. In yet another episode, Britney is seen talking on the phone with one of her babies in her hands, outing a cigarette with the babies head and then dropping the baby on the ground. (in the latter two examples, Britney is much more overweight than she really is, but not to the extent of the first example.)
• Christina Aguilera - In a flashback during "Peter's Got Woods", Peter was her manager and told her she was "offensive to all five senses."
• Cybill Shepherd - In The Fat Guy Strangler she is killed by Peter in a cutaway scene when Peter exclaims that his idea to create a coalition for fat people is "the best idea I've had since I slayed that Dragon." After decapitating Cybill, Peter announces to the medieval town, "People, you are free!" to which there is much rejoicing.
• Dan Rather - Appears in a CBS news segment being shown on TV at the Griffin household; begins whistling and steaming over. Is argued about in "The Kiss Seen Around the World".
• David Bowie - Appears in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. When seen by Asian Reporter Trisha Takanawa he replies "Just you shut your mouth." (This is a line from Bowie's song, "China Girl".) She then proceeds to hump his leg and speak in a stereotypical Asian manner calling him Ziggy Stardust and begging to make him "Fishball Soup ... Fishball!!".
• David Hyde Pierce - Has cameoed as Niles Crane. In a cutaway during "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater", he appeared as Niles Crane on Frasier. In "PTV (Family Guy)", he is referred to as accidentally having exposed his testicles at the Emmy awards. (This is not seen or heard on-screen.)
• Dean Koontz – In "Brian in Love", Brian strikes him while driving a car. Brian asks him if he's Stephen King, and when Koontz responds with a negative, Brian proceeds to drive over him repeatedly.
• Dennis Miller – Seen during the opening of "Peter Griffin: Husband, Father...Brother?". (Miller: "I don't want to go on a rant here, but America's foreign policy makes about as much sense as Beowulf having sex with Robert Fulton at the first Battle of Antietam. • Gene Shalit - In the "Supergriffins" segment of "Family Guy Viewer Mail 1", Peter transforms into him, playing a practical joke. He also mugged Peter once.
• Gene Simmons- In "Road To Europe" he made an appearance with KISS on a fictional tour called "KISSstock" with and without make-up. He also made an appearance in "Don't Make Me Over" when Peter says to be a rock star you have to play kick-ass rock n' roll and stick out your tongue, at which point Gene walks in and they both stick out their tongues and Gene's goes through the house and presumably licks Lois, Peter telling Gene to "keep it in your mouth, rock star!".
• George W. Bush – The U.S. President has appeared numerous times:
  • In "PTV" he shows up in 1981 for the Vietnam War, only to find out the war had already ended.
  • In "The Fat Guy Strangler" Brian found him hiding in a treehouse following Hurricane Katrina, but refused to come down, saying he was reading Superfudge; begged Brian not to make him "do stuff."
  • In "Don't Make Me Over" he had Peter, wearing a clown nose, perform for him.
  • In "Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington", Peter took him and Al Gore to a strip club.
  • In "Saving Private Brian", after democracy spontaneously kicked in in Iraq, he is found on a stairway, playing with a slinky. After the slinky finally fell all the way down the stairs, he shouts "Laura, Laura! Laura!"
  • In "Boys do cry" Chris and Megan go to Bush's Texas Ranch to steal a pair of underwear for a dare. They look at pictures showing Bush with Ronald Reagan, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and the Superdevil, indicating he is friends with those people
• Gregory Peck - Has three children who look and sound exactly like him. Threatens to "hit them with his ring hand" if they didn't stop fighting in Saving Private Brian.
• Halle Berry- Shown in The Courtship of Stewie's Father. She has her own ride "Halle Berry's Wild Ride" a Parody of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyworld and a reference to her car accident in February 2000.
• Hayden Christensen- Seen as a Force Ghost in Peter's Two Dads along with Ben Kenobi, Yoda, & Francis Griffin. His appearance is a reference to the edits of Star Wars Episode VI.
• Helen Keller – Seen playing a very tedious game of Marco Polo with Stewie.
• Hugh Downs - Subdues a criminal during a hostage situation involving Neil Goldman and Meg. Has special powers. "The Kiss Seen Around the World"
• Jennifer Love Hewitt – Mort Goldman's niece who goes on a date with Peter. "Stuck Together, Torn Apart" Also referred to in a cutaway scene as a former Intuit boy.
• James Carville – Hired by Glenn Quagmire to do damage control on Peter's Porn Magazine Scandal as School Board President. Peter is repulsed by his appearance.
• Jackie Chan – Peter refers to him as the "foreign guy" from Taxi in There's Something About Paulie. While the Griffin family is on the lamb (due to Lois' shoplifting spree) Peter says "Oh my God, it's Jackie Chan" every time he sees an Asian person in Asiantown. Eventually one person who really is Jackie Chan thanks Peter for recognizing him. And then points at Peter and Chris in turn, exclaiming "Oh my God, you're Ethan Hawke!" before mistaking Meg for "Malcolm in Middle!" Not long after that when Peter signed up for Sumo-Wrestling, he mistook his opponent for being Jackie Chan after gaining a lot of weight.
• Jackie Gleason - This 1950s television comedian has appeared several times:
  • Had an affair with Barbara Pewterschmidt, mother of Lois Griffin. In a flashback during "The Fat Guy Strangler" we see Lois' brother, Patrick, walk in on them in a compromising position, and Gleason tells him to beat it. As the view remains on the look of horror on Patrick's face, we hear Gleason yell, "Pow! Right in the kisser!" implying that Barbara was performing oral sex on him.
  • In "North by North Quahog", Jackie's character Ralph Kramden was parodied actually hitting his wife after shouting his famous catchphrase, "One of these days, Alice. Bang, zoom, to the moon!".
• James Woods - Seen in the episode "Peter's Got Woods". He becomes Peter's best friend for most of the episode. Being a native of Rhode Island, several places around Quahog are named after him, notably "James Woods Regional High School", and the local forest "James Woods".
• Jay Leno - Referenced by Tom Brady in the episode "Patriot Games", when Peter calls him with a challenge for a football game. Jay Leno later calls, saying, "Hey, Brady! What kinda suit you wanna be buried in?". He then appears at the New England Patriots versus Sillynannies game, throwing a knife at Brady's neck, laughing, then running off.
• Jeff Foxworthy - In "To Love and Die in Dixie", Chris opens one of the closets and sees a someone inside. It turns out to be Foxworthy, who gives one of his "You Might Be a Redneck" jokes, to which Stewie replies, "You suck."
• Jenna Jameson - Starring in one of Brian's porn films during "Brian Does Hollywood". Was later kidnapped by Peter and flown back to Rhode Island while tied and gagged.
• Jewel - Seen in "The Story on Page 1" being called to the stage, but she is just Ricky Martin with a blonde wig and guitar.
• Joan Cusack - Seen in "Blind Ambition" when Peter falls off a roof top landing on Joan Cusack. When she doesn't wake up, Peter stuffs her in a nearby mailbox.
• Jodie Foster - Present at a boat race, claiming that maybe she was "wrong about all men".
• Joe Pesci - Apparently Loca's father's cousin. He will say any word in a funny voice if you give him a nickel.(Jungle Love)
• John Goodman - In a cutaway from "Brian Sings and Swings," he is shown eating all of the food at his family's dinner table on Thanksgiving.
• John Wilkes Booth - Was in a Mintos Ad in reference to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in "Mind Over Murder". He was also in hell in the episode "Holy Crap" when Peter fantasizes about going there playing cards.
• John Williams - In "Brian Does Hollywood," he was nominated for a Woody Award for Best Music in a porno at the AVN.
• Judd Hirsch – Seen building weapons for the Keebler Elves, which they use against the Rice Krispies Elves (killing Snap).
• Julia Roberts - Shown in a gag saying how much she loves herself.
• Julie Andrews - Parodied for the opening scene from The Sound of Music after Stewie runs her over with his tricycle. Also shown exposing her breasts in a cutaway scene of Mary Poppins (instead of Victor Victoria).
• Kate Moss – Chris' paper-thin date at the art show who was completely at the whims of passing breezes and cracks in the floor. Chris thinks he's seeing the The Matrix, a spoof on Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss, who shares a last name with Kate.
• Kelly Ripa- In "Family Guy Viewer Mail #1", the mini episode "No Bones About It" begins as Peter opens a can of Pawtucket Patriot Ale and a magic genie comes out. His first wish is, "to see what Kelly Ripa is really like off the set." The scene cuts to show her entering her dressing room, then ripping off her face (which was a mask), revealing an alien face. She goes up to a man tied to a chair, and rips out his heart and eats it, just as Regis calls to her. She replies immediately, saying, "Just a minute Reg, I just have to put on my face." The scene cuts back to the Griffin family, and Lois remarks, "Did you see the size of that dressing room?"
• KISS – Peter's favorite band, and at one time, Lois dated Gene Simmons. They also appeared in the Christmas movie KISS Saves Santa, a parody of KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park. This was in A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas
• Kobe Bryant – Shown being interrogated by two police men and easily distracting them by spinning a basketball on his finger tips.
• Kurt Cobain - Shown telling the audience at a Nirvana concert to "say no to drugs", if he quit his drug habit. In the Family Guy Movie, he is seen in heaven with Brian, Ernest Hemingway, and Vincent Van Gogh. He says he committed suicide because he hated the idea of his music becoming part of some bland corporate mechanism.
• La Toya Jackson – In the episode "E. Peterbus Unum", she filled in for Jesse Jackson when he couldn't show up for an opening prayer at the peace conference. Her "very inappropriate" prayer was, "Rubba-dub-dub, thanks for the grub ... Yay, God!"
• Leif Garrett - appears in a TV dramatization of his life story in "The Thin White Line".
• Leslie Uggams – Peter dated and dumped her during a flashback in the episode "Mind over Murder". However, he thought she was Lola Falana the whole time.
• Lindsay Lohan – Did a naked crabwalk in "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz". She was also the subject of a rant in Peter's "Grinds My Gears" segment in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.
• Lola Falana – Peter dated and dumped her in a flashback in the episode "Mind over Murder". It turned out he was actually dating Leslie Uggams (Peter just didn't know the difference).
• Lou Gehrig - In an attempt to take over the world, he accidentally spilled a bottle of liquid on his legs leaving him with Lou Gehrig's disease.
• Margot Kidder – Appears in a flashback where she is at the Griffin's for dinner, has a psychotic episode, and jumps out the window. She returns briefly near the end of the episode, claiming she forgot her purse.
• Marilyn Manson - Appeared in "Saving Private Brian". Peter and Lois blame him for Chris disrespecting them when he became a goth. Peter didn't know what his gender was until he met him in person. Manson came to their house and advised them that kids need structured activities and quality time with their parents. When Peter and Chris decide to go fishing, he gives them two fishing rods.
• Martha Stewart – Hired by the cigarette company to clean the Griffin house when Peter is made President. When the family leaves to go to Washington, she shows signs of relief and farts.
• Matthew McConaughey - His private plane crashed into the ocean after Stewie took over an air traffic control tower. When he came to find Stewie at the Griffin's house, Stewie shot him in the head with a crossbow and put his body in a car trunk.
• MC Hammer - Appeared in the episode "E. Peterbus Unum", he had a look of disapproval while Peter Griffin parodied his song Can't touch this.
• Mel Gibson – Appeared in the episode "North by North Quahog", that parodied the Alfred Hitchcock classic North by Northwest.
• Michael Eisner – The head of the The Walt Disney Company and friend of Carter Pewterschmidt (as first seen in "Screwed the Pooch") has appeared several times.
  • In The Courtship of Stewie's Father, Peter pushes him in the water and Michael is eaten by crocodiles in a parody of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
  • Was seen in No Bones About It using the bone-less Peter as a towel.
  • During a cutaway in "Brian Does Hollywood", Brian is working at a car wash. When Brian gives him a script, Eisner asks his name, gives him a Mickey Mouse hat that says "Brian", and tells him to "bring money."
• Michael Jackson - A boy, attending the Captain EO show at Disney World, remarks how Michael is so real. Michael then comes off stage, grabs the boy and runs off.
• Michael Moore – Competed with Peter in a farting competition in a bathroom-stall take on Dueling Banjos.
• Mike Henry - One of the Family Guy writing staff and voice actors, appeared as himself in The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire in homage to his side project show Kicked in the Nuts. Wearing his "Kicked In The Nuts" attire (blue overalls and an orange afro wig), he kicks Peter in his testicular region and (after Peter and Lois complained about what happened) proceeds to tell Peter that he was "Kicked In The Nuts" and that he was going to be on TV (in similar fashion to the real show itself).
• Morgan Freeman - Appears in a cutaway on a show called 'The Narrator', in which he talks about peoples' enjoyment of the sound of his voice and describes the room he is in while reading a script and drinking a cup of tea.
• Muddy Waters - In "Saving Private Brian", he is shown recording a blues song in a bathroom; the clip attributes his singing style to his passing of kidney stones.
• Nikita Kruschev – In "Dammit Janet", he appeared saying "Did someone say Kruschev?" and danced in the TV-show called "the Communists".
• O.J. Simpson - Seen in a bar talking to Stewie, who accidentally convinces him to murder his wife.
• Osama bin Laden - Fails to film his movie of threat against America at the beginning of "PTV". Also appeared in "Road to Rhode Island" where he is able to sneak a case full of weapons past security at the airport by singing show tunes as a distraction. This scene was cut out of the episode following 9/11.
• Ozzy Osbourne - Appeared in the episode "PTV" when the FCC claimed that they censored him for biting live bats on stage (They asked him to instead eat a whole sandwich onstage, where he eats half and claims "He'll finish it later"). This is a gag on a real incident; he did bite the head off a bat during a concert. The real bat was thrown on the stage by a fan, and (as Ozzy declared later) he thought it was a fake bat.
• Patrick Duffy - Featured in original live-action footage at the end of "Da Boom" to explain away the entire episode as a bad dream. The clip is clearly a spoof on the Dallas tenth season premiere episode "Return to Camelot" in which Bobby emerged from the shower and viewers learned that the entire ninth season of the show had been a dream.
• Paula Abdul - One of a handful of people to appear on the show in live-action footage, in this case from her video "Opposites Attract", during a cutaway scene in "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz".
• Penelope Cruz- Was interviewed by Clevland in The Courtship of Stewie's Father when he worked for E! Became very upset when he confused her for Seabiscut.
• Peter Frampton – Played "Baby I Love Your Way" as a favor to Peter on his wedding anniversary.
• The Pope – The Pope occasionally appears, and once visited Quahog. He vaguely resembles a bald John Paul II, but he has not been explicitly referred to as such. Unlike John Paul II, he appears to be Italian. He doesn't like wearing his Episcopal mitre. "It's a stupid hat," he said.
• Randy Newman - Seen at one of the few houses to survive the Nuclear Holocaust following New Year's Eve, 1999, (also known as Y2K) in "Da Boom", he made a song about everything he saw: from the Griffin's eating the unlimited apple supply available to them, to the family walking away in disgust and taking their chances in the post-Apocalyptic Northeast, just so they could rid of him and his annoying songs. (Peter threw an apple at his head as they left to shut him up.) He also sang songs for a Disney Movie preview in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.
• Randy Savage - Played the wrestler when Peter taught Cleveland to be macho. He said, "I must be in Quahog, because I see a bunch of hicks".
• Regis Philbin - Appeared briefly in the episode "E. Peterbus Unum" in a spoof of MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This".
• Ricky Martin - Seen in "The Story on Page 1" being mobbed by fans outside his dressing room. He quickly puts on a wig and guitar when someone calls Jewel to the stage.
• Robert Loggia - Appeared in a cutaway scene during the Family Guy Episode Peter's Two Dads. Peter was complaining about how much he hates kids' parties and that it would be worse than standing behind Robert Loggia at the airport. It then goes to a scene showing Robert Loggia spelling out his name to the employee of the airport and after each letter he would show how much he loved himself. This is what he spelled out: R as in Robert Loggia. O as in Oh my God, its Robert Loggia. B as in By God it's Robert Loggia... etc.
• The Rock - Used to hang out with Stewie. Questioned by the announcer of his heritage.
• Rod Serling - Seen in "Love Thy Trophy" where he is attacked by Peter and the neighbors in accusation of stealing their trophy. Later, he is slammed in the back of the head by Brian with a shovel. In both appearances, he is seen doing a spoof of his narration of the Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street", complete with a black and white background.
• Ron Jeremy - Seen in "Brian Does Hollywood" presenting the Best Music award at the AVN ceremony. Voiced by Ron Jeremy himself.
• Roseanne Barr - Flashback shows when Peter (instead of John Goodman) was cast as her husband and can't understand a word she is saying. ("Stewie B. Goode")
• Roy L. "Rocky" Dennis – In a spoof of the 1985 film Mask, Diana Adams asks Rocky why his face has a pelvis.
• Samuel L. Jackson - Starring opposite of Jenna Jameson in one of Brian's porn films during "Brian Does Hollywood".
• Sean Penn – Former weatherman at Channel 5, his violent character wasn't suited for his position.
• Slobodan Milošević, Saddam Hussein, Muammar al-Qaddafi, Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Il – In "E. Peterbus Unum", they all attended Peter's barbecue to lend their support after Peter declared his house to be the independent country of "Petoria" and annexed his neighbor's pool, renaming it "Joe-hio".
• Spuds Mackenzie - In "Fish out of Water", while Meg and Lois are on spring break, an unnamed character sees a Bull Terrier and exclaims, "Look everybody, it's Spuds Mackenzie!" in reference to the Bud Light advertising gimmick. The terrier proceeds to attack the man's face.

• Stephen King – In "A Picture Is Worth a 1,000 Bucks", he suggests a novel featuring a lamp monster, as if to imply his creativity has dried up

• Steven Seagal – In "E. Peterbus Unum", he is seen on TV beating up seals in a parody of his films.
• Susan Sarandon - Is shown holding Stewie while filming an anti-hunger commercial in the episode "E. Peterbus Unum". Featured at the beginning of "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" in a movie trailer spoof with Vince Vaughn mocking their naturally drooping eyelids.
• Ted Danson and Mary Steenbergen - Once, Peter met them. Ted appeared with an odd-shaped head, which he used as an umbrella for Mary, because she forgot hers. Unfortunately, his strange head prevents him from sleeping with her.
• Ted Turner – Head of Turner Broadcasting, plays poker with Carter Pewterschmidt, despite no one liking him. Impregnated Carter's greyhound Seabreeze, implying that he is a zoophile. In "Peterotica", Barbara Pewterschmidt married Ted for a short time.
• Tom Brady - A quarterback from the National Football League's New England Patriots, who lets Peter play for the Patriots in the episode "Patriot Games)"
• Tony Robbins - Famed motivational speaker, shown swallowing Peter whole in "When You Wish upon a Weinstein"
• United States Supreme Court Justices – In "Let's Go to the Hop", the Justices tell David Souter if he wants to be a Supreme Court Justice he must pick up a cherry with his buttocks and drop it in a mug of beer after traveling through an obstacle course. The only person who has a speaking line in the entire cut-away is Sandra Day O'Connor.
• Victoria Principal - Featured in original live-action footage at the end of "Da Boom."
• Vincent Van Gogh - It is revealed that he apparently cut off his ear as a gift for his girlfriend, but when she says it'll be a funny story to tell their children, he reveals that he has cut off his penis as well. On another episode, seen in Heaven with Brian, Ernest Hemingway and Kurt Cobain.
• Vince Vaughn - Featured at the beginning of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story in a movie trailer for Two People Who Look Like They Never Sleep with Susan Sarandon.
• William Shatner – Often parodied using a distinctive acting style similar to that of Captain Kirk, speaking as if "Every. Word. Is. Its. Own. Sentence." Has appeared in several cameo roles:
  • In "When You Wish upon a Weinstein", he performed the opening monologue from Fiddler on the Roof in the style from his musical career and ending with a scream of "Khan! Khan!", spoofing his scream from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
  • In "I Never Met the Dead Man", he formed a brief friendship with Peter before being run over and presumably killed by Meg. Later reappeared in a crowd, non-speaking.
• Wilford Brimley - During a commercial viewed by the Griffins, he explains how tedious diabetes is and claims that he struck his wife after he ran out of vanilla ice cream, only to later find that she has been dead for six years.Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story
• Will Ferrell – In "Jungle Love", after watching a particularly unfunny joke in the film version of Bewitched, Stewie travels to Will Ferrell's house in Hollywood to punch him in the face.

• Alice Nelson - During the "E. Peterbus Unum" episode, she appears in the center square of a Brady Bunch mock-up featuring news reporters arguing.
• Apache Chief - In "PTV", He is seen helping Peter put up a satellite dish by using his trademark growth.
• Aquaman - Appears on his own TV show. He attempts to use his powers in an attempt to convince a fish to get him a beer, who resists and claims that he is abusing his powers. They begin to argue about it until Aquaman says that this time could've been used to get him a beer.
• Arthur Fonzarelli (Fonzie) – This Happy Days character has appeared in several episodes:
  • Interacts with Peter in "The Son Also Draws" during a vision quest in the forest, which concludes with him claiming to have gotten herpes and gonorrhea from girls he met at Arnold's Drive-In.
  • In "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz", Peter starts a religion that worships The Fonz.
• Barney Rubble- Peter's replacement best friend after Brian starts dating Shauna Parks in "Peter's Got Woods"
• Bill Lumbergh – The fictional boss of Initech from Office Space. Near the beginning of "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz," he was summoned by Peter to tell Lois, "Yeah ... I'm gonna need you to go ahead and not complain about this. And if you could go ahead and sit at the kids' table, that'd be great."
• The Brady Bunch Kids - They have been referenced and parodied in several episodes:
  • Appeared as the first sketch in "Death Has a Shadow", the very first episode of Family Guy. Marcia tattles on Greg for owning and smoking cigarettes, for which he is sentenced to time in a snake pit by the father. Marcia is then also punished harshly for tattling by going into the pit of fire.
  • In the episode "Holy Crap", Peter hires musicians to play music when he and his dad hug. Brian asks the musicians if they can "do that fluttery thing, like when the Brady Kids run down the stairs." The Brady Kids are then seen running down the Griffins' stairs.
  • In the episode "PTV" the family stands around the toilet while Cindy Brady shows them "What she made."
• Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 – Appear in the episode Blind Ambition in a recreation of the ending of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The episode even ended like Star Wars with the credits.
• Cobra Commander - In "PTV (Family Guy)", as President of the FCC, he makes the decision to censor television heavily after a mishap at the Emmy awards, then hops into a Cobra Trubble Bubble and flies off.
• Cookie Monster – Appears to have a severe dependency on cookie dough and is seen free-basing in a women's restroom after rehab in "Model Misbehavior"; referred to the people at his rehab clinic as Nazis.
• Darth Vader – Appears in "Mother Tucker" working as a meter maid, issuing a parking ticket. After being accosted and talking it over with his wife, Karen, Vader goes to the bank to apply for a loan to build the Death Star.
• ED-209 - In "Running Mates", this police robot from the movie RoboCop appears as the "XL-K" hall pass enforcement robot, purchased by Peter during his tenure as School Board President. It is implied that the robot kills Mr. Fargus in a parody of an infamous scene from the movie.
• Endo - Character from Lethal Weapon who shocks Chris when he fails to list the four women of Sex and the City.
• Ernie & Bert (Sesame Street) – Apparently living together in a run-down apartment. Bert, a police officer, is a drunk and sleeps naked in the same bed with Ernie, who is uncomfortable with Bert's drinking and shouting.
• Emperor Palpatine – Encourages Cleveland to kill Quagmire before Lois knocks him over, claiming that he's not helping the situation.
• The Great Gazoo – Calls Peter a "dum-dum" in "Wasted Talent". [A reference to the Flintstones.]
• The Grinch – He was stealing Christmas presents from an orphanage. Joe Swanson stops him and gets the presents back but The Grinch paralyzes him in the process. From episode, "A Hero Sits Next Door".
• Holden Caulfield – Appears in "The Kiss Seen Around the World" and sees Peter pretending to play on a keyboard, but when he realizes it's fake, he makes an extremely big deal about Peter being a phony. His name is a reference to the main character of J.D. Salinger's novel Catcher in the Rye as well as the character's hatred of "phonies".
• Homer Simpson – Is ""PTV", he is run over by Stewie on his tricycle in the Griffin's garage.
• Jason Voorhees- The legendary fictional serial killer has appeared in one episode. First, he is being interviewed by Asian Reporter Trisha Takanawa about his opinions on Lake Quahog. As he is talking, 2 teenage girls run by & he kills both of them. Next, when Lois is buying a fur coat she asks for a discount (she is mayor in this episode) the clerk says her boss will kill her. Jason then appears & asks her if everything is okay. He threatens to kill her.
• Kermit the Frog - This familiar Muppet character has appeared several times.
  • In the episode "Deep Throats", Brian and Stewie met an informant who wished to keep his identity a secret, and so he stayed in the shadows. After giving Brian and Stewie the information, Brian squints and asks incredulously, "Kermit the Frog?" Kermit yells, "Somebody talked!", runs toward the elevator waving his hands in the air with his characteristic "YAAAAAAAAY!" from The Muppet Show.
  • In "Stewie Loves Lois", Kermit appears in a cutaway parody of the "The Rainbow Connection" sequence of The Muppet Movie; after a black man approached him and asked for directions back to town, Kermit grabbed a shotgun and told him that it was "back the way you came."
  • In a "Mother Tucker" cutaway, Kermit was a guest on Round Table along with Ray Romano, Harold Ramis, and Al Michaels.
• Kool-Aid Man – This advertising icon has made several appearances:
  • In the episode "Death Has a Shadow", he crashed through the courtroom wall during a scene where Peter was being sentenced to 24 months in prison, shouting, "Oh Yeah!" after most of the Griffins had said "Oh No!" to the verdict.
  • Appears as Drew Barrymore's boyfriend on the red carpet in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.
  • In "Peterotica", a car crashes through the Kool-Aid Man's house, and he remarks "Wow! You know, from the other side, that's kind of annoying."
• Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi - Used in a few episodes; one such time is when Luke was about to perform LASIK on a patient when Obi-Wan convinces him to use the Force, which ends up maiming the patient.
• Marcie from Peanuts – She is portrayed as Peppermint Patty's life partner.
• Miss Swan – A MADtv Character (played by Alex Borstein) makes a cameo touring with the Griffins.
• The Noid - In "Deep Throats", Mayor Adam West told Meg to "watch out for The Noid", because he was trying to ruin his pizza's freshness. When The Noid later appeared, West killed him in a graphic fight sequence, took a bite of his pizza, and remarked, "Perhaps it is The Noid who should have avoided me."
• Optimus Prime – Featured as Jewish.
• Pee-Wee's Playhouse - Puppets from the playhouse have turned up with Peter playing Pee-Wee.
• Peppermint Patty – An old friend and former love interest of Peter's. She is apparently a Marcie Johnson's life partner. They're seen as adults in "Stuck Together, Torn Apart".
• Popeye the Sailor Man - Featured only once in a cutaway after Peter remarks "You are as clueless as Popeye." The cutaway features Popeye in a hospital with the Griffins' usual doctor informing him that the lumps on his forearms were "really giant tumors", and that he "must have realized that is not the normal way that human arms look". Then he tells him that his speech problems and his habit of having one eye closed is in fact due to "a series of strokes". he closes by saying that it is nothing short of a miracle that he "is still walking", and that he'll "be dead in a month". In response to all of this Popeye only babbles incoherently.
• Ronald McDonald - When the Griffins' house was haunted, Chris asks himself, "When will this scary clown go away?" It turned out to be Ronald McDonald. He made the McDonald's symbol with his hands, scaring Chris. ("Petergeist")
  • In another cutaway scene in "Fifteen Minutes Of Shame", he chastised his daughter for wearing too much makeup when he said, "You're a McDonald, not a whore!"
• Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - Appears on television in a doctor's office, only to find out that his famous glowing nose is caused by a malignant, inoperable brain tumor.
• Soundwave (Transformers) - Featured as a Christian who works at the Pawtucket Patriot Brewery.
• Spider-Man – Uses his webs to save Peter from a fatal fall, claiming that "Everybody gets one."
• Superman – Seen briefly when Peter believes that he's going to Hell. Explains that he's in Hell because he killed a hooker after she made a crack about him being "faster than a speeding bullet.The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire
  • In a later episode, Peter also recalls a time when he lived with Superman and the Justice League. Pulls the "S" off of his chest to throw it at villains in a highly ineffective attack.
• Thundercats – Seen in "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" as Stewie remembers watching "Living Together". Lion-O, Cheetara and Snarf are in Cats' Lair, as Lion-O uses the Sword of Omens to watch Cheetara in the washroom urinating. Lion-O and Cheetara are voiced by the real actors from Thundercats. (Larry Kenney as "Lion-O" and Lynne Lipton as "Cheetara")
• The Trix Rabbit – This advertising icon has appeared several times:
  • In the episode "Da Boom", he was caught by Peter, who accused him of "trying to take Easter away from Jesus".
  • During "Breaking out Is Hard to Do" he appears in an Asian Trix commercial. When the children state, "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids," he shouts, "You share!", then attacks them with martial arts-style moves, and runs away with the cereal. (In the DVD commentary for this episode, Seth MacFarlane says he believes that this is every child's fantasy and voices his disdain for the children that would always take the rabbit's cereal.)
• Wile E. Coyote - From Looney Tunes
  • Appears in a flashback on the episode "PTV" when Peter claims he had a mail-order operation. He offers a store credit when Wile E. Coyote claims a refund.
  • Also is shown in "I Never Met the Dead Man" riding with Peter when Peter runs over Road Runner with his car. When Peter realizes it, Wile E. says "Keep going!"
• The Wonder Twins – Peter recalled that he was once a Wonder Twin. In the flashback, he assumes the shape of Jayna's tampon, jumps into her purse, and plays "the waiting game."
• Wonder Woman – Seen in Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story when Superman flies by her invisible plane while she is using the lavatory.
  • In , when Peter recalled playing strip poker with the Super Friends, she loses a hand to Peter and has to remove her Wonder Bra; while the rest of the Super Friends stare at her, Robin is staring at Peter.
• Yogi Bear Is seen in a flash back of Peter killing him using a knife as a favor to the Park Ranger. Peter then tells Boo Boo to tell the other bears what he had seen.
