  • Guaira Falls (also known as Sete Quedas) - This was once considered the "largest waterfall" in the world by some.
  • Huangguoshu Falls - Literally "Yellow-Fruit Tree Falls". 74 m (243 feet) high and 81 m (266 feet) wide, it's the most famous waterfall in China. Located in Anshun, Guizhou Province.
  • Hukou Falls - Meaning "The mouth of a Pot" in Chinese, the country's second-largest waterfall separates the provinces of Shaanxi and Shanxi. It is 50 m high and 30 m wide.
  • Detian Falls - Waterfalls in the Karst hills of Daxing County in the Chongzuo prefecture of Guangxi Province, China along the border with Vietnam.
  • Hannoki Falls - The tallest falls in Japan, at 497 m (1,640 ft). Only flows from April to July.
  • Kegon Falls - 97 m high, and infamous for suicides
  • Nachi Falls - Well known falls in Japan, 133 m (436 ft) high.
  • Nunobiki Falls - 120 m (394 ft) in four cascades, of great cultural significance, considered a meisho, or "famous site"
  • Shindō Falls - 83 m high, and, after rain, large in volume
  • Shōmyō Falls - The tallest year-round waterfall in Japan, at 349 m (1,146 ft).


  • Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall - 20 m drop. On a tributary of the Orkhon River.
  • Kivach (second highest plain waterfall in Europe)
