Articles to be created
- Usage labels or "Context labels", see wikt:Wiktionary:ELE#Context_labels. -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 18:21, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Grammatical meaning and Lexical meaning. Now that write that I'm doubting whether these are the current terms; something akin to subcategorization in the former case and sense and reference in the latter. See, for example this version of Grammaticalization which referred to the two categories of meaning. Compare also Function word and Content word. Cnilep (talk) 03:25, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- Vocalization (currently a disambiguation page), the change of a consonant into a vowel or semivowel, a form of lenition, in some cases synonymous with approximation. There is an article on l-vocalization, but nothing on the topic in general. This term needs to be distinguished from several other concepts also called "vocalization", such as speech production, voice (phonetics), and consonant voicing and devoicing, and finding another term for the concept that does not have such ambiguity might be helpful. Or perhaps the concept should be described in the article on lenition. — Eru·tuon 23:10, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Doctrinal (grammar) 13th-16th c., rhymed Latin grammar for beginners
- Intergenerational transmission languages being passed on as a first language at home — Catrìona (talk) 21:16, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
Requests for expansion
- verbal case – got an outline, but need examples of verbal morphology claimed to be 'case'
- Auditory phonetics – The article is all of one sentence and really ought to be expanded. Feel free to come help. Wugapodes (talk) 03:41, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- Case government - it is stub, without resources and has mistakes Cnevis (talk) 21:56, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- Asian EFL Journal - This article is just a one paragraph. -Vexthesmol (talk) 14:03, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Anaphoric clitic — Article is a stub, and expansion of content and references is needed. Visvajit (talk) 01:18, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Requests for attention
- November 2013 – Linguist expert needed with focus on orthography and spelling:
- Embodied bilingual language is a genuine WP:Orphan that is in Queue 2 at WP:DYK. It needs some links to it. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:43, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- Opposite (semantics) was tagged in April 2008, though no reason was specified. Content has developed quite a lot since that time, but the article remains somewhat inconsistent in its treatment of meaning, entailment, etc. Also, there is a list of sources but few footnotes or parenthetical references. Cnilep (talk) 02:58, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
- February 2018 -- an editor has added detailed conjugation listings to the Latin grammar article which are already found in the Latin conjugations article. I removed, he reverted. Please join the discussion at Talk:Latin grammar#Conjugation. --Macrakis (talk) 17:02, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Requests for review
- Traditional grammar has been completely rewritten. The article is focused on pedagogical grammar traditions, with a history of the tradition, and allusion to a couple of the critiques that linguists tend to make of such systems. Currently rated start class, mid importance, but review is warranted.
- Conceptual definition This article seems to confuse theories, conceptual definitions, and the colloquial idea that a "theoretical" idea is not based in facts. I am not a linguist and I do not know if a "theoretical definition" is a term in linguistics, but as a scientist a single article on "conceptual definitions" seems more useful.
Categorizations
- The Category:Linguistics stub templates and Category:Translation stub templates have just been created. There are lots of stub templates to categorize. --Fadesga (talk) 11:17, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
