This is a list of Wikipedians who are no longer an integral part of the community. See also Wikipedia:List of administrators/Inactive.

Wikipedians who no longer edit due to confirmed death should instead be added to Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians.

Purpose of this list

The purpose of this list is to provide a reminder to us of those who have left and their reasons for doing so.

Please do not add people to this list who were never an integral part of the community. Don't add users with fewer than about 1,000 edits. Do not add people unless you are certain they have left, do not add anonymous users identified by their IP address (they could have created an account and still be contributing, or they might have a roaming IP address) and do not add yourself.

  • People who leave a goodbye message on their talk page or elsewhere, and then actually refrain from editing for at least two weeks are likely to have left permanently and may be added to the list.
  • Wait about a month before listing someone who has simply ceased editing, unless you have some other reason for being certain that they have left.
  • In most cases, editors who have gradually adopted a pattern of occasional editing interspersed with long breaks should not be listed merely because they are on one of their long breaks.
  • Editors who return are no longer "missing" and should be removed from the list.
  • Missing Wikipedians should be added to this list by people who knew them well rather than by strangers.
  • If you add your own user name to the list as one of your final edits, your addition might be reverted since it is theoretically impossible for a "missing" Wikipedian to make an edit.

This page was mentioned in an Economist article on March 6, 2008: "Many who are excited about contributing to the site end up on the “Missing Wikipedians” page: a constantly updated list of those who have decided to stop contributing. It serves as a reminder that frustration at having work removed prompts many people to abandon the project."

  • Can't sleep, clown will eat me (talk · contribs · count) - Former administrator and prolific vandal fighter with over 101,000 edits. Last one was on April 1, 2008, made a number of questionable blocks in May and July which led to his eventual desysopping on July 19 pending communication with Arb Com. Has not been heard of since.
  • CanadianCaesar (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator. Last edit April 19, 2007.
  • Cantus (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 23, 2006. Had over 21,000 edits until being blocked for a month on that date due to violating a previous ArbCom decision.
  • Captain Wikify (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit August 10, 2007. Added statement to his user page.
  • Captain Zyrain (talk · contribs · count) - Resigned his commission.
  • Carbonite (talk · contribs · count) - Former administrator; last edit February 11, 2006, user page says they've "lost interest in editing here" due to unimportant arguments.
  • Casey Abell (talk · contribs · count) Quit Wikipedia concerning the Durova/Giano conflict, at the end of November 2007. Last edit made December 2, 2007, voting on User:Newyorkbrad's ArbCom election. Made a total of 11,465 edits.
  • Catamorphism (talk · contribs · count) - Taking an indefinite break from Wikipedia, according to user's userpage. Last edit July 27, 2006.
  • CattleGirl (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator; last edit April 4, 2008.
  • Cdc (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit November 30, 2006.
  • Celithemis (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 6, 2007.
  • Cerejota (talk · contribs · count) - Made one edit on November 13, 2007, but hadn't edited since September prior to that.
  • Chacor (talk · contribs · count) - A former admin, originally User:NSLE, then User:Chacor. Originally taking a long wikibreak, left a retirement message September 20, 2007. Made well over 10,000 edits on the English Wikipedia as Chacor alone. Made two edits on January 5, 2008.
  • Cheeser1 (talk · contribs · count) - Left Wikipedia several times, always came back, but eventually posted a definitive and frustrated goodbye on his/her user page on April 12, 2008. Last edit May 17, 2008.
  • ChrisGriswold (talk · contribs · count) - Former administrator. Last edit on August 27, 2007.
  • Chronographos (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since October 14, 2005. Made one edit to his user page September 6, 2006.
  • Cjmarsicano (talk · contribs · count) - WP:H!P founder, left because he does not want to "Participate On Wikipedia Unless WikiMedia Starts Respecting The Fair Use Clause Of The US Copyright Act list"
  • Clicketyclack (talk · contribs · count) - Self-administered {{User EX-WP}} 6 Feb 2008. Contributor with >11,500 edits; WikiProject memberships at time of departure: Categories, Biology.

  • Codex Sinaiticus (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 28, 2007, but hadn't seriously edited since April 2007; cited his displeasure with certain categorizations of religion articles on his talk page.
  • Coelacan (talk · contribs · count) - An admin, last edit November 23, 2007.
  • Colin Kimbrell (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 5, 2006. Left over concerns about the Wikipedia:Reward board, saying, "I'm going on Wikibreak, maybe forever, due to WP:RB. I no longer wish to contribute my labor to the project under these conditions, as I feel that this tremendously misguided proposal deals a critical blow to the credibility of the project...If it dies, I might come back. Otherwise, best of luck, y'all"[1].

  • Cortonin (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since shortly after June 26, 2005 six-month ban from certain articles by ArbComm. [2]
  • CovenantD (talk · contribs · count) - Hasn't returned since being blocked for 3RR violation on March 23, 2007.
    He made a couple of edits on July 23, but has not edited since. Ht/c 17:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • CrazyTalk (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on November 5, 2005. Left a departure note on his user page. "Closed up shop. The three months I was a Wikiholic have successfully served their purpose (postponing my career change) and have now run their course. I have also arrived at this conclusion: [3]."
  • Csernica (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on December 21, 2007. On long wikibreak which may be permanent.
  • Curps (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator. Declared a semi-Wikivacation on May 13, 2006 and made some bot edits, blocks, and deletions up until June 26, 2006, and then declared a long-term Wikivacation on August 1, 2006 and has not edited since.
  • CryptoDerk (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit January 30, 2006 - the user modified his userpage to "I'm not really active on Wikipedia anymore," with the edit summary of (lalala what's up it's derk :P) on July 14, 2006. On March 24, 2007, the user made another edit to his page, adjusting his age in historical context.
  • CyborgTosser (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator. Last edit May 3, 2007, after having a total of four edits between February 11, 2007 and May 2, 2007. He will be missed.

  • Farosdaughter (talk · contribs · count) - A Huggle user who has not edited, nor fought vandalism, since March 2008. Made one edit on June 22, 2008.
  • Fastifex (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit December 4, 2006.
  • FateClub (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 13, 2007.
  • Fenice (talk · contribs · count) - Left January 18, 2006 after an editwar.
  • Filiocht (talk · contribs · count) - After falling ill earlier in the year, he declared himself "away indefinitely" on June 6, 2006. Returned in March 2008 and deleted user and user talk pages.
  • Finalnight (talk · contribs · count) - After withdrawing from an RfA, placed a retirement notice on their webpage on July 17, 2008. Sporadically edited about a few leftover administrative issues afterwards.
  • Firebug (talk · contribs · count) - Left on January 1, 2006, due to the Userbox controversy. There is a explicit goodbye message on his user page that contains explicit language.
  • Flcelloguy (talk · contribs · count) - ArbCom member, hasn't edited since May 28, 2007, when he left a note at his talk page explaining he's been busy.
  • Fonzy (talk · contribs · count) - Retired May 2004: "I don't like change much (which some will probably know or guess why). I prefered Wikipedia more when it was smaller and I felt part of a small community, now Wikipedia has got bigger (which is great) but I dont feel as useful, or as important, I just feel like part of a mob." Made last edit on the 26th of that month. Four more edits on November 11, 2007.
    Made 3 edits on November 9, 2006 to confirm he was the anonymous editor who was instrumental in starting Wikinews. And admitting he had made some anonymous edits to Wikinews during his absence.
  • Forbsey (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit December 5, 2007, in which he or she began blanking all of his or her userpages and subpages.
  • Formeruser-81 (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 14, 2005.
  • Francs2000 (talk · contribs · count) - Bureaucrat, left on July 15, 2006 following over 38,000 edits, and has not edited since.
  • Freak104 (talk · contribs · count) - Left 6 February 2008 due to WP:N's effects on comic book articles.
  • Freakofnurture (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator, stopped editing on November 5, 2007; has made some edits in late March 2008.

I do not see it as acceptable to have advertisements, whether they be for brand identity or for a product, on Wikipedia." - with a link to a foundation-l reference [9]. Edited his userspace March 2, 2007.
  • Imladjov (talk · contribs · count) - Historian and Scholar. Last edit August 13, 2006. Influential and distinguished editor with great contributions to Byzantine History and similar topics. He will be missed on many levels.
  • Imran (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit February 13, 2005. Left a note on November 3, 2004 to say "Note: I am (as of Sept 04) currently inactive on Wikipedia".
  • Information Center (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit October 18, 2007.
  • Interiot (talk · contribs · count) - last edit December 25, 2007. Says he needed to spend less time online, and still edits anonymously.
  • Into The Fray (talk · contribs · count) - Has abruptly stopped editing in November 2007. Returned on January 12, 2008 to replace his user and talk pages with a {{retired}} tag. Returned again making two edits on March 27, and once more on May 31 by removing himself from Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User/Adoptee's Area/Adopters‎.
  • IP Address (talk · contribs · count) - blanked his user page on August 5, 2006 and made his last contribution later that day.
  • Isotope23 (talk · contribs · count) - announced he was on "indefinite hiatus" in January 2008; returned to make one comment on June 13, 2008.
  • Izehar (talk · contribs · count) - last edit January 16, 2006. Made a single edit one year later on January 30, 2007.

  • Kelly Martin (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit December 31, 2007. Returned almost a year later to cast votes, some of them sarcastic, in that year's ArbCom elections.
  • Kevin Mulligan (talk · contribs · count) - Stopped editing on January 6, 2006. Blanked his user pages later that year, and again on September 27, 2007.
  • Kilo-Lima (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator. Was an active editor until October 2006.
  • Kils (talk · contribs · count) - Former admin, no edits since December 4, 2006.
  • Kirjtc2 (talk · contribs · count) - Left a goodbye note on his/her userpage on November 21, 2006
  • KittySaturn (talk · contribs · count) - Left a goodbye message on her user page on July 31, 2006 and changed it to Japanese the next day.   • Kmweber (talk · contribs · count) - Editor known for controversial oppositions to self-nominated RfA candidates as "prima facie evidence of power hunger", and asking critics "Why do you hate Wikipedia"? Racked up record 294 oppose votes when he ran for ArbCom in 2008 promising to decline any case submitted as a protest against the committee's existence. Last edit was December 14, after community ban discussion that gained overwhelming support from a community whose patience he'd exhausted.
  • Kotepho (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 19, 2007. Requested for user and talk pages to be blacked.
  • KRS (talk · contribs · count) - Inactive since February 2005. Made a few sporadic edits since then, last one dating back to July 29, 2006.

  • Vancouverguy (talk · contribs · count) - "I think I've officially "disappeared" now. You can call me a "missing Wikipedian" although I might edit anonymously." Vancouverguy was previously absent from Wikipedia in February 2004. He edited a bit in October 2005 and has not posted since. His account was compromised on June 2007 and de-sysoped, see WP:FIRED.

  • Veledan (talk · contribs · count) - On December 10, 2007, he explained on his userpage on that he is not currently active. Last edit on June 5, 2008.
  • Vera, Chuck & Dave (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit March 11, 2008. Contributed to articles related to the Beatles and other British bands.
  • VeryVerily (talk · contribs · count) - Banned at one point in 2004 for edit warring, he returned for a few months in 2005. On December 27, 2005 he started an appeal at requests for arbitration to "clear his name" from his previous block. He has not edited since February 28, 2006.
  • Vespristiano (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit August 26, 2006 to his sandbox after a four-month Wikibreak.
  • Vikreykja (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit March 29, 2007. Left no word as to why.
