The "Grand Salute" (Pashto: لوی سلام, lit. 'Loya Salami'), also known by its incipit "Our Brave and Noble King" (Persian: ای شاهِ غیور و مهربانِ ما, romanized: Šâhe Ğažur o Mehrabane Ma) was the national anthem of the Kingdom of Afghanistan from 1943 to 1973.

History

The national anthem was adopted in 1943, and replaced the first national anthem without a title and a text. Because of her relationship to the king, she was replaced after his overthrow in 1973.
