Miss Guam is a national Beauty pageant in Guam.

History

Miss Guam identified was held for first time in 1966. The pageant will be selecting the winner for the Miss Universe and runners-up for the Miss World and Miss International pageants.

Since 2001 Guam did not send at the Miss Universe pageant due to lack sponsorship from the event.

In 2008, the Miss Guam renamed as Miss Universe Guam and to choose representative for the Miss Universe and Miss International pageants. Since that year, Miss Universe Guam has two official licenses for the island. Meanwhile, the representative for Miss World is selected by Miss World Guam pageant since 2011.

Representatives at Miss International

Guam has competed since 1964. There are four Miss Guam titleholders in 1979, 1982, 1988 and 1991 who awarded as Miss Friendship in Miss International history. Margaret Frances Glover (Miss International Guam 1967) is the only one Miss Guam who placed as the Top 15 at the Miss International pageant. Since 2010 the second title of Miss Guam automatically will compete at the Miss International pageant. On occasion, when the candidate does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, another girl is sent.

Notes

1974 Elizabeth Clara Tenoria appointed to represent Guam at the Miss World 1978 in London.

1997 Due to lack financial support, there was not Miss Guam competition.

1998 Joylyn Munoz previously declared as Miss World Guam in 1995. Later, she won Miss Guam title and competed at the Miss Universe 1998 in the United States.

1999 Tisha Heflin withdrew from the competition due to illness. It reported that she was pregnant but no records show this to be true.

2001 - 2007 no pageant.

2008 Siera Monique Robertson won the title of Miss World Guam 2011 and competed at Miss World 2011 pageant. Since 2011 Miss World Guam has independently created "Miss Guam World" pageant.

2014 Former Miss Arizona 2010, Brittany Bell was named Miss Congeniality in 2010.[1] Bell went on to compete in the Miss USA 2010 pageant held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 16, 2010. Bell was crowned Miss Guam Universe 2014 and competed at Miss Universe 2014 but Unplaced.
