I tried to make the text not visible but I forgot how to do that. I just don’t really understand how to edit.
Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, Tacyarg! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

The article Kate Heartfield has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable individual lacking in-depth, non-trivial support. Nominated for an award, but did not win. WP:CRYSTAL related to books to be published in 2018 and 2020. Individual fails WP:N.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 22:43, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Roger Hutchinson (writer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Harris (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I am not 100% sure, but I would highlight the suspicions of a conflict of interest. For a broad set of reasons such conflicts of interest are fairly common in Wikipedia. I guess to me it does not neccesarily show malicious intent, so does not run afoul of assume good faith to point such things out.John Pack Lambert (talk) 22:34, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
Considered for Deletion Zoe Strimpel
Hello. I am the primary author of the Zoe Strimpel article. This article is being considered for deletion because of lack of coverage of her. Since the notice appeared, I added additional press coverage as citations. Please take a look and let me know if this enough enough independent source coverage to show notability. Cheers. Gregory Salcido
I have removed your notability tag on the Gregory Salcido article because: (1) He was the mayor of a city with 60,000 residents which in itself makes him notable enough for a wikipedia article (2) His speech/actions have generated enough controversy in the past few days to go viral which probably seals his notability. If you have any questions or objections, feel free to contact me. Thank you. VictorianMutant(Talk) 18:21, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

The fact that the source of a lot of the info comes from the school's own website shouldn't make it an unreliable source. What other site could be more reliable than the school's own? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolnerde (talk • contribs) 22:11, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
"Primary sources are often difficult to use appropriately. Although they can be both reliable and useful in certain situations, they must be used with caution in order to avoid original research. Although specific facts may be taken from primary sources, secondary sources that present the same material are preferred." No "original research" has been used in this instance. Also, a secondary source would also most likely be much less reliable. Also, "Self-published sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, especially in articles about themselves" So I do think that the school's website should be considered reliable. And, from your quote "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy," the school is the most reliable source of this information, and it is published, and there is no reason any of it would be inaccurate. Coolnerde (talk) 23:26, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I took a look at this "article". After removing the WP:SCHOOLCRUFT that heavily emphasized WP:RECENT events and put a way WEIGHTy emphasis on poorly or non referenced events, removing the notables whose attendance was unsourced and the crufty crap there (his brother attend there too! Thanks for sharing), there isn't much left. 32 lines on what time the band practices, but not one word on the school's 60 year history. And no, Coolnerde, the school is not the best source. As a matter of fact, we couldn't care less what the school has to say about itself. Articles on schools in Wikipedia are NOT for the school. This one was written in its entirety to be useful for the school. Honestly, this was one of the worst school articles I've yet seen here. It isn't anymore. I exercised a nuclear solution to the problem. Tacyarg, would you want to take the lede on rebuilding it? Its been stubbed, so now any copy added can be properly sourced and weighted, and the out of guidelines Facebook-y junk can stay out. Middle and Elementary schools and AFD
Hi, Tacyarg. I wanted to thank you for all the work you're putting in on school articles. Can I give you a tip? If you encounter a middle or elementary school article that you're sure isn't notable (more on that in a minute), rather than PROD or AfD, just go ahead and redirect it to the most logical target. You do this by blanking the entire page including categories and replacing the content with #REDIRECT [[title of target article]] {{r from school}}.
The most logical choices for targets are:
- for a US public school, the school district's article (large districts sometimes have list articles for lower schools. If so, use that for the target).
- lacking a district article, or for most private schools, the education section of the article on the school's community would be best.
- for some church sponsored schools (especially Catholic), the diocese article may be more appropriate.
Middle and elementary schools are very seldom notable. Those that are, are usually notable for a reason other than being a school (example: being on a registry of historic buildings). The few that are notable as a school are generally notable for a highly historic event or because for some reason or another, they've been discussed extensively in academic sources.

Trafford Centre
Hi Tacyarg, Thanks for your advice. Would the article at http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/the-intu-trafford-centre---the-new-1212689 be a'reliable source'? And if so how do I change the page name to 'Intu Trafford Centre? And then how do I add the required 'citation'? Sorry for all the questions but I am new to all this and don't really understand the help guides. Thanks. TheRedLion (talk) 01:03, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Tagging on Zoe Konstantopoulou
Hi Tacyarg! Thanks for all your work. Just a friendly reminder that when placing {{COI}} and {{POV}} tags, as you did on Zoe Konstantopoulou, you should start a talk page discussion immediately. I've started a talk page section, where I encourage you to add any reasoning and try to form a consensus for article content, and I would suggest doing so on future tags as well. Thanks!! Thank you for your tips on my edit. I understand that I had no reliable source but , I was an ex-student of that school. So please help me add my edits back. I'll appreciate it.

Andy Lamb page - distinguishing between 2 very different people
I'm grateful (sort of) that it's not so easy to change a Wikipedia page but we have an urgent problem. Wikipedia posts information about Andy Lamb, a former Wisconsin Assembly Representative. The first words of his page show that he was a Wisconsin Republican. That appears to be true but our problem is that another Andy Lamb is running for the Assembly in a different Wisconsin district (https://lamb4wi.com/). This Andy is a democrat. At least one voter asked when he switched to being a democrat. He has always been a democrat. The problem comes up for those people who don't look any further than the first search page and see the republican Andy Lamb entry as the first one and wonder "what's up, I thought he was a democrat?".
How can we fix this and soon? Our primary election is August 14th and we just want our candidate to get a fair and honest shot without voters being misled.
Amazon River, my edits were changed without consent, clear definitions where given with proper reason.
Hunter
To be honest, I considered taking the while part about Hunter being a masculine name everywhere else out of the article, because I have lived in many English speaking countries, and I actually never knew Hunter was a masculine name until I met a guy in Winnipeg Canada in the airport. I’ve lived in
- Eswatini
- South Africa
- Australia
- England
And in all of those places I have seen Hunter as a feminine name, so I’d say in most English speaking countries it can be both masculine and feminine. Not to mention I dated a South African woman named Hunter and am married to her for 9 years now. So I would not be against that whole portion being removed altogether. thanks
