Since February 2002, it has used the branding "Midwest Georgia's Magic 98.1" and currently uses the branding "Magic 98.1". The station went on the air as WEIZ on 1991-08-09. On 1995-01-20, the station changed its call sign to WZLG, on 1999-07-30 to WMAX-FM, then again on 1999-08-02 to WMAX-FM going by the branding "Mix 98.1", and on 2002-02-28 to the current WMGP with current branding "Magic 98.1",
