::And Kashmir is part of the wider South Asia region. Why don't you go ahead and rephrase it as, "An earthquake in South Asia...." then? As far as maintaining neutrality is concerned, when both BBC & NYT categorically do mention Pakistan, how about changing the blurb to "An earthquake in Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir kills 38 people and injures more than 700 others." Not mentioning Pakistan at all will be akin to WP:CENSORship. Solo Samaritan (talk) 08:14, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

:::Solo Samaritan, I have reverted you on the article. I agree with Amakuru when he says that the current phrase is neutral. There is a name Azad Kashmir that is also known as Pakistan adminstered Kashmir, there is no such thing as Pakistan administerd Azad Kashmir. The quake happened in Kashmir (both Indian and Pakistani areas). by asking the above change, you are attempting to infer that the quake only happened in the Pakistani area, which is factually incorrect. Your suggestion has already been disputed here by 2 of us. and Your edits on the article reverted. Revision as of 09:09, 29 September 2019

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

 • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
 • Offer a correction if possible.
 • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
 • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 00:27 on 9 July 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
 • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
 • Do not use edit fully-protected on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
 • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
 • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
 • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

2019 Kashmir earthquake

The blurb's linking to Kashmir as to the location of the earthquake is ambiguous if not grossly misleading, when it should link to Azad Kashmir.

I propose changing the blurb to, "An earthquake in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan kills 38 people and injures more than 700 others."[1][2] Solo Samaritan (talk) 07:40, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Solo Samaritan, I have reverted you on the article. • University of East Anglia - "after talk of establishing such a university in the city began as early as the 19th century" where is this in the article? I see "Attempts had been made to establish a university in Norwich in 1919 and 1947," but no such claim equivalent to that in the blurb. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 06:43, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
Fixed. It did say something about the 19th century when this blurb was written, in 2009, and I've revived the old source to bring the fact back to the article. Also given the date of 29 September, with a cite, which had somehow disappeared from the article.  — Amakuru (talk) 23:27, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
