Miss World 2018 will be the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant scheduled to take place in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018.[1] Manushi Chhillar from India will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Background

In March 2018, Miss World President Julia Morley signed the contract with Jiajun Li, President of New Silk Road company, to host once again the Miss World finals in China.

  1. ^ ALBANIA – Nikita Preka was appointed to represent Albania.
  2. ^ EGYPT – Omnia Helal was appointed to represent Egypt after Youseff Sphai reacquired the Miss World license in Egypt.
  3. ^ FINLAND – Jenny Lappalainen was appointed as "Miss World Finland 2018". She finished 2nd-Runner up at the Miss Suomi 2018 pageant.
  4. ^ ICELAND – Erla Ólafsdóttir was appointed to represent Iceland after no national pageant was held.
  5. ^ LATVIA – Daniela Gods-Romanovska was appointed to represent Latvia at the Miss World 2018 pageant. Daniela previously competed at the Miss Latvia 2016 contest.
  6. ^ LEBANON – Mira Al-Toufaily was appointed to represent Lebanon at the Miss World 2018 pageant. She finished 1st runner-up at the Miss Lebanon 2018 pageant.
  7. ^ UNITED STATES – Marisa Butler was appointed to compete at Miss World 2018 pageant after a video interview selection process was organized by Michael Blakey, after he was appointed the new franchise holder for Miss World in the United States due time constraints in organizing a pageant. Previously Lynne Scott Safrit and Elizabeth Safrit held the franchise for Miss World in the United States.

  1. ^ AUSTRIA – Izabela Ion was choosen to represent Austria at Miss World 2018 by Silvia Schachermayer, the national director of Miss Austria pageant after the original winner Daniela Zivkov resigned due to personal reason. Izabela was crowned the 1st Runner-up at the Miss Austria 2018 pageant.
  2. ^ DENMARK – Tara Jensen was crowned the new Miss Denmark 2018 by Lisa Lents, the national director of Miss Denmark pageant after the original winner Louise Sander Henriksen resigned due to personal reason. Jensen was crowned the 1st runner-up at the Miss Denmark 2018 pageant.
  3. ^ LUXEMBOURG – Cassandra Lopes Monteiro was appointed to compete at Miss World 2018 pageant as a replacement to Kelly Nilles, Miss Luxembourg 2018 by Herve Lancelin, the president of Miss Luxembourg pageant, because of scheduling conflicts between Miss World 2018 and Miss Luxembourg 2019 pageants. Monteiro was the 3rd runner up at the Miss Luxembourg 2018 pageant.
  4. ^ PERU – Clarisse Uribe was crowned Miss World Perú 2018, by Tito Paz, the national director of the Miss World Perú pageant, after the original winner Estefany Mauricci was dethroned for not having her degree accredited, which is one of the prerequisites to compete at the Miss World Perú pageant. Uribe represented the department of Chincha and was crowned the 1st runner-up at the pageant.
  5. ^ RUSSIA – Natalya Stroeva was appointed as Miss World Russia 2018 after Miss Russia Organization decided to send the original winner of Miss Russia 2018 Yulia Polyachikhina only to Miss Universe 2018 so as to avoid scheduling conflicts. Stroeva was the 2nd runner-up at the Miss Russia 2018 pageant[97]
  6. ^ TUNISIA – Dorsaf Zouaghi was choosen to represent Tunisia at Miss World 2018 by Aida Antar, the national director of Miss Tunisia pageant after the original winner Haifa Ghedir resigned due to personal reason. Zouaghi represented the governorate of Sfax and was crowned the 2nd runner-up at the Miss Tunisia 2017 pageant.
