KPRR, known as "Power 102 FM", is a Rhythmic Top 40 radio station based in El Paso, Texas. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and broadcasts at 102.1 MHz on the FM dial with an effective radiated power of 100 kW from a transmitter in the Franklin Mountains. Its studios are located along Mesa Drive in west central El Paso. They are also one of two Rhythmic Top 40s in the market; XHTO-FM is the other.

Rhythmic Oldies "Hot 93.5" can be heard on 102.1 HD-2 (HD Radio needed).[1]

History

KIZZ-FM signed on in 1969. It was owned by Sunland Broadcasting Co. In 1972, the calls were changed to KLOZ (K102), and the station offered a country format. Mesa Radio bought KIZZ in 1975, followed by Jalapeno Broadcasting Company in 1979.

In September 1986, KLOZ became KPRR with a format patterned after that of KPWR/Los Angeles. It offers a more broad-based direction in its musical taste than most of the other Rhythmic Top 40 in the United States with its mix of R&B/Hip-Hop, Dance, Hurban and Rhythmic Pop fare.
