Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors
Please submit error reports only for content that is currently or will imminently appear on the Main Page. For general discussion about the Main Page, kindly use its talk page. |
National variations of the English language have been extensively discussed previously:

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 22:33 on 3 November 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

- ... that Richard Osman, who wrote "the biggest thing in fiction since Harry Potter", lost confidence in his writing ability after his experience with Boyz Unlimited?
The quote is pretty sensational, and comes from the subheadline of the article. I'm not even sure its semi-related-counterpart in the body would be admissible, since i dunno if it's talking about the UK or worldwide or what. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:20, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- Leeky, I suggest it's a good idea to ping nominator, reviewer, prep promoter, and queue promoter. Schwede66 02:56, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

- 'first ... apart from' well then they weren't first, they were second. Please change to 'second ... after'. Modest Genius talk 12:17, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- I suppose it's because it was a Japanese puppet state so Japan would be first. Bad hook though. Secretlondon (talk) 12:19, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- I understand the reason why Japan was first to recognise their own puppet, but that still makes El Salvador second. Modest Genius talk 14:18, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

- In the 8th hook, italicize "Lock's Quest" per MOS:ITALICTITLE. –CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 00:13, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
There are six American hooks in this set. I think two of them (likely Giovanni Manu and North West) should be moved. If an admin could (for example) swap these out with Julius Welschof and DellaXOZ in prep 2, I can rearrange the rest.--Launchballer 08:37, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
