Such options were added in later patches after considerable backlash from fans, many of whom noted that the lack of diversity flew in the face of BioWare's previous record. The 2013 expansion Rise of the Hutt Cartel features a same-sex flirtation option for both factions (a lesbian for the Republic and a gay male for the Empire). 2014's Shadow of Revan introduces Republic agent Theron Shan and the Sith lord Lana Beniko, both of whom will react favorably to the advances of a player of either gender (and either faction). The 2015 expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire sees the return of Shan and Beniko, and introduces Koth Vortena; all three are fully realized romance options for characters male or female characters. All expansions have also featured background characters and flavor lore mentioning same-sex romances and even marriages.

Upon recovering from an illness, his voice deepened and his shoulders broadened, making him appear male (barring his lack of male genitalia). He renamed himself "Michel"; while his brothers accepted his new identity, his mother was driven insane by denial and his father planned to have him executed. The developers, Novectacle, have stated that he is intersex, but he's never described as such in the game; as his story takes place in the late 1000s, other characters' knowledge on the matter is limited and his body is considered "cursed" by his mother.

The male half-orc Dorn Il-Khan is available for a relationship with a player of either gender, while the male human Rasaad yn Bashir and the female half-elf Neera are only available for straight relationships.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair	Nagito Komaeda / Servant	Gay or bisexual	During the last of Nagito Komaeda's free time events, he attempts to confess his love to Hajime Hinata/Izuru Kamukura, but ends up changing his wording at the last minute. It was later confirmed that he had feelings for an ambiguous "him" in his character song "Poison -Gekiyaku-", which the character's voice actor, who provided vocals for the song, characterized as "sexual". Also in Danganronpa Another Episode, he reveals to Monaca that he both loves and hates Junko Enoshima more than anyone else, though it could possibly be argued that he along with the other Remnants of Despair were brainwashed into loving her. In the second game he makes an offhand comment about Alan’s Owari’s sexy body.
	Teruteru Hanamura	Bisexual	Teruteru makes several suggestive comments about the bodies of both his male and female classmates and his interest in them, stating that "[m]y tastes are pretty open." During the last of his free time events with Hajime Hinata, he questions whether Hajime has "awakened" yet before attempting to drug him.
	Mikan Tsumiki		Mikan Tsumiki refers to an unspecified person as her "beloved", later revealed to be Junko Enoshima. However her loving Junko could be because of brainwashing like all of The Remnants of Despair. The opening sequence depicts her with both male and female symbols in hearts around her.

When the Protagonist tells Lillymon she doesn't mind and instead decides she will continue to live in his phone and hang up any calls he gets from women so that he cannot date any.

Undertale	Alphys	Bisexual or Pansexual	Alphys (a female reptilian monster scientist) and Undyne (a female fish-like monster warrior) are in love. The events concerning the start of their relationship are shown in the Pacifist Route, where Undyne sends an unsigned letter inviting Alphys to a date. Before the final fight with Asriel Dreemurr, Alphys and Undyne almost kiss each other. In the end credits of this route, the two monster girls are seen together on the beach, and Undyne kisses Alphys on the cheek. When Mettaton battles the player, he asks a series of questions, including: "Who does Dr. Alphys have a crush on?" This happens before Alphys and Undyne form a relationship. If the player replies either "Undyne" or "Asgore" (a male horned monster, the ruler of the Underground), Mettaton confirms that the answer is correct and further comments on Alphys' crush on either Undyne or Asgore.

However, if the player chooses to kill RG 02 before starting that scene, RG 01 says: "I never told him..." Chloe also has condoms in her wallet, and had previously made references to sleeping with her male friend, Elliot, at a point in time, but aid they had "no chemistry" and makes references to how Rachel "saved her" from boys and how they are gross. In the Life is Strange reunion, Ashly Burch (Chloe's voice actress) said that Chloe is queer. Rachel Amber is shown to only be romantically attracted to Chloe. She had relationships with Mark Jefferson and Frank Bowers, but they were much older than her so that's classified as grooming, not an actual relationship.

He replaces their headsets (and his own) with ones from Sword Art Online which would kill anyone in real life who's HP dropped to zero in an attempt to kill off what he considered to be competition for the Protagonist's affection. Should the situation not go the way he wanted, he would choose to kill himself as well as the Protagonist. The situation doesn't come to pass however and he is defeated without anyone losing their lives (though there are bad endings where characters *do* die) due to the game's admins managing to shut the game's servers down just in time. He then flees and becomes a wanted fugitive. Though the Protagonist can either be male or female, the Protagonist's canonical gender is male, making Yukitsugu canonically gay. If a female avatar is chosen, he is instead straight with Momiji and Midoriko implied to be have feelings for the female Protagonist. This is non canon, however.

Subsequent conversations with the smoker and with his inner monologue can lead to Harry expressing interest in exploring the gay scene. A researchable thought earned from this interaction does not give a definitive answer to Harry's orientation, advising that an active murder investigation is not the right time for him to be obsessing about his sexuality.

Their relationship is confirmed later in a conversation where Athena implies that she "hit that" (referring to Janey) by giving a high five to Tiny Tina, even though Athena is initially defensive to talk about it. In the DLC Claptastic Voyage (2015), it is shown that Athena and Janey moved together to Hollow Point, a subterranean city on Pandora. In the episodic adventure game Tales from the Borderlands (2014), Athena and Janey are in a relationship. Depending on the player's choices, a scene may be available where Janey kisses Athena on the cheek and refers to her as her girlfriend. Later in the game, there is an unmissable scene where Athena is interrupted by a call from Janey, once again referring to her as her girlfriend.

			Corporal Betsy	Lesbian	Another NPC, Corporal Betsy, a sharpshooter for the NCR, is openly gay and will flirt with a female Courier that has high enough charisma. With the Cherchez la Femme perk the Courier can acknowledge her advances, however ultimately nothing comes out of the conversation.

She is an antagonistic NPC in the arcade beat 'em up games Final Fight (1989) and Mighty Final Fight (1993). She is a playable character in the fighting games Final Fight Revenge (1999), Street Fighter X Tekken (2012), Ultra Street Fighter IV (2014) & Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (2018). In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, her identity is alluded to more often. Certain dialogue during a conversation with Lucia alludes to the fact that she was born with a gender not matching with her inner being. One of Poison's win quotes, "Being gossiped about is proof of my popularity!" seemingly alludes to the controversy and ambiguity surrounding her gender identity.

Fire Emblem	2015	Fire Emblem Fates	Corrin (player character), Niles and Rhajat	Potentially gay, lesbian or bisexual	This game is the first in the Fire Emblem franchise to feature a same-sex marriage option for both the 'Birthright' and 'Conquest' versions of the game (Niles and Rhajat in the American version). The same sex options, however, are restricted to one character per game, where the Conquest edition contains a man who may be romanced by male or female main characters, while the Birthright edition has a woman who may be romanced by male and female protagonists. In the DLC, Revelations, both Rhajat and Niles are available to be romanced by the female and male main characters. However, they can still marry characters of the other gender so it is implied they are bisexual. If the player marries a character of the same sex, they will not be able to unlock Kana (the player's child) or Nina, Niles' daughter.

Additionally, Petra mentions her feelings for Dorothea in their support conversations. She states, "Dorothea, is filling my heart full." and, "It is impossible to imagine life without you. You are...precious to me." Also in Edelgard and Dorothea support, they were seen to be slightly romancing each other in their A support: "When the two of us are together, talking like this...
