Hello Werldwayd,
I remember you being a helper with the article Alex Gilbert. I have been adding new sources and info for a while now and expanding it as you can see. It has grown dramatically with many new sources. I remember when it was having issues.. for a long time too. Your welcome to ahead and expand and write. Thank You --TheDomain (talk) 09:39, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Werldwayd, Thank You for your help with updating the article. I see you are doing a lot. I think we shouldn't have much on his list of television work as mentioned in his story a lot of this is from his film school years. But not sure. Try not to change it as adoption advocate and production assistant. I think we should try keep it to just the adoption stuff but have a mention of his television. Not sure to have the list of his television work. Not sure. Also not many reliable sources on his television work too, just iMDB. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks! --TheDomain (talk) 11:24, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- I disagree actually. A Wikipedia page should not be just one selective aspect of somebody's life but a "comprehensive" presentation of what he is and what he does. My interest believe it or not was more in his adaptation process in New Zealand, his life and aspirations of becoming a successful television producer. I would be more fascinated of how he adapted to the new country. For example Where and what did he study. What did he do as a professional? How his brother is doing? I am sure as things go on, he will have to have a professional career and become an accomplished individual with various aspirations. Having said that, this is a cooperative project and anybody can pitch in. If you see his other career being highlighted counter-productive, you can revert anything I have done regarding his other careers. But wouldn't that turn him into this one-dimensional character with no other aspirations in life but to go on and on about being adopted? On a side note, when this article was being nominated for deletion I don't know how many times, I was arguing that Gilbert was not a "one cause" individual but was a diverse multi-talented professional. That was my argument for keeping the article and saving it from deletion. Believe it or not, a diversified level of notable activities reinforces an individual article of being maintained in Wikipedia. werldwayd (talk) 11:36, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with you werldwayd :) Perfect answer. I didn't know that as I understand it's all part of his career so that makes perfect sense! Thank You! --TheDomain (talk) 11:39, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Werldwayd. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Addison Agen, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Addison Agen to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.
If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.
Thanks,

Hello, Werldwayd. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Addison Agen, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

American Idol (ABC TV series)
Just a note that I have proposed a move of the article to American Idol (season 16). Thinking about it, I think that the proposal might have been premature as I think starting a discussion first might have been better as there is the wider question how to see the reboot season and its relation to the old one, but given that I have started it, it might as well go to completion as any discussion can be conducted there. I can see argument on both sides, although I'm inclined to continue with the old numbering, it can get complicated if ABC starts the numbering afresh. Hzh (talk) 18:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

The Harris J page
My dear friend, I hope you are well. A page on a young Muslim musician, Harris J, needs careful monitoring. Someone seems committed to turning it into an unreferenced fan page, with non-encyclopedic and promotional information. I wonder if you could please assist me in keeping this page neutral in tone, well referenced and accurate. Thanks so much. Best regards,George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:37, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- Absolutely User:GorgeCustersSabre. You know a couple of years back we had the exact same problem with another Awakening Records artist called Maher Zain and we had similar issues about claims made and success everything. What I notice is that Awakening Records artists enjoy support from their very avid fans and this reflects badly on some of these pages. Harris J has turned into one of them. Mind you with this very young artist, it was bound to translate into all excessive editing of claims by novice editors. I will be of assistance and we cooperate together on this for sure. Thanks for keeping the contact. As Harris J's last single states as a title "Save Me From Myself" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPFgyHZtih4, it might be a literally accurate LOL But still, it is a beautiful performance and a charming music video I must admit.... werldwayd (talk) 07:20, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- You did good cleaning it up. The only fact that we could safely add is that he won the Awakening Records competition and was signed to the label as a result. See Awakening Records website confirming this: "Having entered the social media powered Awakening Talent Contest in 2013 - in which multi platinum winning songwriter and artist Maher Zain was a judge - Harris J went on to win the competition and signed an exclusive record deal with Awakening Records". http://www.awakening.org/harrisj/ That's my feeling that his winning and being signed is solid. See also the official announcement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAuCgSJs6Mc werldwayd (talk) 07:33, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- My dear friend, I remember fondly your excellent work on Maher Zain. I think you're absolutely right about artists signed to Awakenings. Their fans are unusually zealous. In the case of a very young, handsome and talented singer it is inevitable that we will face some puffery etc. But let's do our best as editors to keep the page neutral in tone, well referenced and encyclopedic. Until Harris J attracts some media coverage in third-party RS, there's little more we can add at this stage. So far the mainstream media hasn't written about him. Thanks so much. Best regards, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 02:11, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Nick Nittoli
Hello, Werldwayd. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Nick Nittoli".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Speedy deletion nomination of Religions for Peace
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Religions for Peace requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://rfp.org/learn/vision-mission/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. DGG ( talk ) 04:21, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
The Dualers
My dear friend, I hope you're fine. I'm having difficulty with one persistent editor who repeatedly tries to turn The Dualers page into a gushy, unreferenced fan site full of trivia, anecdote and puffery. Perhaps you could add it to your watchlist and help me to keep it well referenced, neutral and accurate. Thanks very much, and best wishes, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 02:54, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- Sure. I see persistent effort by related-party editors to reintroduce unverified materials over and over again without references. I will surely keep an eye on this. werldwayd (talk) 14:41, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Il-Progresso-Italo-Americano-cover.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Il-Progresso-Italo-Americano-cover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89 (T·C) 02:54, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Jyllands-Posten-30-July-2011.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Jyllands-Posten-30-July-2011.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

DYK for Kenneth Gärdestad
On 24 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kenneth Gärdestad, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Swedish songwriter Kenneth Gärdestad wrote the lyrics for the Melodifestivalen 1979 winning song "Satellit" performed by his brother Ted Gärdestad? Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Asahi-shimbun-sample-page1.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Asahi-shimbun-sample-page1.jpg.
Thank you. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 01:00, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
The article Fleur De Lis Film Studios has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence that the subject meets the relevant notability guideline at WP:NCORP.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. VQuakr (talk) 06:11, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Werldwayd. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Britton Buchanan, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:16, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

The article Amaia y Alfred has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Jmertel23 (talk) 12:04, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I came across this article when editing Layla Anna-Lee, who is married to a different Richard Cullen. I was able to establish that they are different, and to add an additional reference on Cullen's private life, but have totally failed to find references in reliable sources for anything else in the article, including the awards nominations that led you to remove the notability tag back in 2010. As a result, the article fails verification so far as I'm concerned and I'm not sure he's notable. Can you dredge up any sources on his career? Otherwise, I think the article should be redirected to Darren Hayes and the lawyer given the non-disambiguated title, but it's entirely possible I am not looking in the right places or plugging in the right search terms to get past Google's eagerness to show me recent results. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:42, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- I have given some thought to your comments and which one is the more notable. Since I don't have a firm opinion on which of the two (or three) being prominent, the safest way is to make Richard Cullen the disambiguation page referring to the attorney, the artist married to Darren Hayes. I also included the person married to Layla Anna-Lee but this was removed later. This new arrangement is better leaving the visitor decide on which Cullen he is searching. As for the matter of the rewards unverifiable, I will look further into this. 16:20, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. I agree, nothing seems to be out there on which to write about Anna-Lee's husband. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:07, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Hot 100 Airplay
Hi Werldwayd. I've reverted your change to Hot 100 Airplay. It's not so much that I object to the idea but we need to do a bit of cleanup first. There are currently over 400 pages that link to the redirect so before we turn it into a disambiguation page, we should fix these links so that they directly target Hot 100 Airplay (Radio Songs). Otherwise, we're just creating a mess. A temporary solution if we want to help readers find what they want and add to Hot 100 Airplay (Radio Songs) a hatnote saying something like: for the Brazilian chart see Brasil Hot 100 Airplay. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 20:37, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, your approach is ideal, as so many songs refer to the US Airplay chart anyway, and just a handful to the Brazilian and Romanian ones. I'd keep it the way you amended it. Thanks werldwayd (talk) 04:48, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Meaning-of-matthew-book-cover.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Meaning-of-matthew-book-cover.jpg.
Thank you.

R.wan moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, R.wan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Note on adding unsourced content
Hey, I'm Z0. I noticed that you added content to an article but didn't provide a reliable source. You should cite a reliable source for all of your edits so that they can be verified. In Wikipedia, verifiability means that other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. Adding unsourced content contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial.
Wikipedia does not publish original research, which refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. Articles should be based on reliable and published sources (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view) and if no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.
Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The editor whose username is Z0 19:24, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
RonBot (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Design Canada
Hello Werldwayd,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Design Canada for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:54, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
- It clearly states on the Speedy deletion notice "do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself", so you should have appealed on the talk page and not removed the notice. However, your edits have got rid of the concerning text and I will not replace it. Instead I am going to ask for a "rev del" which will remove access to past versions of the article, visible through the history tab. I am also going to nominate it for "Articles for deletion" because I do not believe it meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. That discussion will remain open for a week and you can express your views there. Do not remove either of these notices from the page. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:18, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Deletion discussion about Design Canada
Hello, Werldwayd,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Design Canada should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Design Canada .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Moshe Hogeg
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Moshe Hogeg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Grab (magazine) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NMAG, as tagged since January 2013.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give In My Mind (Dynoro and Gigi D'Agostino song) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Baggalútur
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Baggalútur, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of https://play.google.com/store/music/artist/Utangar%C3%B0smenn?id=Aoq2hsbxum5lfn5kokwapyjpoc4&hl=en. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
Hello, Werldwayd. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but Baggalútur has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.
Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.
If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.

Discussions on the deletion on Baggalútur on various talk pages
You have asked for the speedy deletion of Baggalútur, Wikipedia article on one of the biggest and long-standing bands of Iceland, an article I had created in January 2014. The reason given for the "speedy" being a copyright violation from a so-called page https://play.google.com/store/music/artist/Utangar%C3%B0smenn?id=Aoq2hsbxum5lfn5kokwapyjpoc4&hl=en a page about a mere one album and tracklist, whereas the page I created enumerates 11 albums by the band from 2005 to 2015. The page you indicate also says: Description provided by Wikipedia under Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY-SA 4.0 meaning they had taken from our Wikipedia page at a later date, and not that we were copying from them. And now those lines they copied from us at Wikipedia are grounds for speedy deletion of our Wikipedia page to deprive our readers of vital information about an Icelandic band selling 11 studio albums and countless hits on Icelandic charts over the years? And how about this song "Mamma þarf að djamma" staying 13 weeks at number one in Iceland becoming the biggest hit of Iceland that year? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH4lVfueYF4 You should seriously reconsider what is just a rush job of a vital article, a judgement made on totally erroneous grounds as I indicated above. A brief look at the Icelandic page of the article will also prove the great notability of the band werldwayd (talk) 20:11, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Notable or not it's insanely promotional so it doesn't address the other side of the speedy which is G11. If it's a vital article, you should have no problem finding appropriate sources and neutral wording. User:Chrissymad
5 September 2018 (UTC)
- To do that as you requested, the speedy deletion should be removed and we must be given enough time. Google Play copies thousands of articles from us, so blindly following texts from there to blame us is out of place. I've reread the article and it just describes the band in very few words and no promotion whatsoever. I am not from Iceland and have no relation whatsoever. You should spend more time on articles and the effort editors put to prepare article about non-English subjects where almost all the literature is in local language, before issuing such value judgements. It hads a few facts and a listing taken from the Icelandic page. What is so promotional about that, if I may ask. I will work on this urgently to save it from oblivion, but a little consideration to fellow colleagues should have been considered. The fact of the matter is that this article has been here for years and there is no need to speedy delete it. User:Werldwayd 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Many thanks. Much appreciated. On to other articles then. One article more, one article less, who cares. English Wikipedia readers do not need to be "promoted to" about an Icelandic band they shouldn't care about I guess. User:Werldwayd 5 September 2018 (UTC)
==
Hi Dlohcierekim; I was going to contest the speedy deletion request of the article Baggalútur, but now you've already deleted it. My reasoning would have been:
- Certainly notable band (one album topping the Icelandic charts); article needs more content, but I wouldn't call it "unambiguous advertising or promotion"; and I don't see the supposed copyright infringement, as the link given leads to the description of a different band (Utangarðsmenn) which is anyway taken from Wikipedia (not the other way round), "Description provided by Wikipedia under Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY-SA 4.0".
As I'm not very active in English-language Wikipedia, can you advise on how to proceed in this case? It was not a particularly good article, certainly, but at least one of the two reasons given (G12) doesn't actually seem to be the case. I'm not sure how you handle such cases here; as an admin in German-language Wikipedia, I probably would restore the article and convert to regular deletion request. User:Gestumblindi. 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- This is the whole problem when articles get speedily deleted. I made this very clear to the editor Chrissymad at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Chrissymad#Baggalútur But as I was formulating my response on his bogus arguments about BOTH copyright violation (saying the indicated page https://play.google.com/store/music/artist/Utangar%C3%B0smenn?id=Aoq2hsbxum5lfn5kokwapyjpoc4&hl=en was admitting it had taken our content and not the other way around saying clearly Description provided by Wikipedia under Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY-SA 4.0) and I was refuting the so-called promotional aspect, as I found the article well written and standing for years and gets requested for deletion and in 10 minutes it's gone to the detriment of the readers of Wikipedia on completely subjective grounds of one or two editors. Me, I am thick skinned about such things. I have edited 10 years and understand the rules and understand how unwelcoming and opinionated some editors are, that's why I mention that I have no desire of becoming an administrator. But at the end of the day, one article more one article less who cares. There are thousands of articles on a daily basis. I have no interest in promoting one band from Iceland. I don't care about them. What I do care is that readers and editors are given a chance to elaborate on certain notable subjects. It's just this penchant deletionist attitude towards non-English subjects that bugs me, so no wonder readers perceive us as too anglo-centric. Materials are difficult to find when almost all references are in a foreign language we don't understand. I hate to argue about things, so I am dropping this off immediately. One article less? Good riddance. Reviewers don't want our readers to know about an Icelandic long-standing band? Listen to Lady Gaga and Drake ad nauseam, who cares about a strangely named band, at least to our ears, from a God-forsaken small island. Thanks for your concerns, and thanks for your more reconciliatory tone, but I have no intention of spending any more time on this Baggalútur thing. We just move on. User:Werldwayd 5 September 2018 (UTC)
−
- it was not tagged for deletion because of notability but it has been sitting unsourced for 5 years and was extremely promotional so g12aside I strongly oppose restoration. User:Chrissymad 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments User talk:Gestumblindi. Now the article is totally removed in 10 minutes of rush subjective judgement. So no point in continuing on this. I only reproduce here the so-called "extremely promotional" article in its entirety to know what we are talking about: User:Werldwayd 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- "Baggalútur is an Icelandic musical band. The band has achieved great popularity in Iceland releasing a number of highly charting albums. The band interprets original songs as well as popular Icelandic songs and Icelandic renditions of international hits from various genres. Traditionally Baggalútur perform on annual Christmas celebrations with a large following.[1] Their album Mamma þarf að djamma was their biggest success with the album topping the Icelandic charts throughout November and December of 2013;[2] including the Christmas chart. The title track "Mamma þarf að djamma" in collaboration with and featuring the vocals of Jóhanna Guðrún had an even bigger success in the Icelandic Singles Charts, staying at top of Tónlist singles chart for 13 consecutive weeks making it the biggest selling Icelandic language single for 2013. The name is connected with the digital online Icelandic magazine Baggalútur operational since May 11th, 2001. The site has critical content consisting of ironic or sarcastic articles and imaginary interviews." (Then I add the titles of the 11 albums and the many singles from 2001-2017). So there's the so-called "extremely promotional" article.
- In any case, the Icelandic and quite elaborative page I may add is there still for those really interested, so readers will still have access anyway, albeit in another language. Translation devices are fairly available so non-Icelanders can always use that facility. I am sure there will be some editors who would be interested in having another go in English for this. The page is at with far more info (promotional also?) https://is.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baggal%C3%BAtur_(hlj%C3%B3msveit) In any case, it won't be me. I move on to other matters. This is the last you'll hear from me on this one though. As for the article, good riddance. No sorrows. We move on. User:Werldwayd 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- reply to Gestumblindi, Werldwayd, Chrissymad. Thanks for your notes. Feel free to appeal at WP:DRV. If I have erred, they can reverse and restore. However, it looks like I deleted it as WP:CSD#G11 and WP:CSD#G12-- unambiguous promotion and copyrighted elsewhere. Notability and popularity are irrelevant. If you have sufficient independent coverage in reliable sources to meet notability, you might create a new article that is non promotional and not a copyvio.
- Please do not place article content, especially promotional or copyvio on my talk page.
- I have restored so I can get the copyvios detector to work. Looking here, it looks like a copyvio to me. The irrelevant bit you talk about is irrelevant. I did not think I would be so stupid as to make that mistake. The copyvio is highlighted by the detector. I really do not care about the Icelandic version. They may operate under different rules than we do. For all I know, they don't care about being used as a promotional platform. Do feel free to appeal at WP:DRV if you would like. Cheers, -- User:Dlohcierekim 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Doesn't look like a copyvio to me, as the potential "sources" apparently have taken the text from Wikipedia, not the other way round. I think you know that it's very common that text from Wikipedia articles that have been around for some years is taken for sites such as Google's Play Store. E.g. the first "source" (as mentioned above) explicitly states this, and also if you look e.g. at the "ismus" site, they state "From a Wikipeida-page on Baggalutur" as their source. So I think we can pretty definitely rule out WP:CSD#G12. This is a years-old article and the text has ben used by other websites in the meantime, a common case. What remains is WP:CSD#G11. And though one could say that the article focuses a lot on the successes of the band, I think this is something we often see in smaller articles in an attempt to emphasize notability, so the article doesn't get deleted as non-notable. I still don't think it's extremely promotional. Gestumblindi 6 September 2018 (UTC)
OK. Please feel free to appeal at WP:DRV.-- Dlohcierekim 6 September 2018

See also previous discussion at the User_talk:Dlohcierekim#Speedy_deletion_of_Baggalútur|deleting admin's discussion page. This article was speedily deleted citing WP:CSD#G11 and WP:CSD#G12. To quote myself from the other discussion: "Doesn't look like a copyvio to me, as the potential "sources" apparently have taken the text from Wikipedia, not the other way round. I think you know that it's very common that text from Wikipedia articles that have been around for some years is taken for sites such as Google's Play Store. And in any case I find it a bit strange to speedily delete an article that has been around for years; I think in German-language Wikipedia (where I'm more active than here), we would have asked for a regular deletion request. User:Gestumblindi 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Overturn and list at AfD. I'm not seeing the WP:G12. The text does indeed appear in many music sites (Ismus, Google Play Music, Discogs, etc), but all of those attribute the source back to us. The WP:G11 is more of a judgement call, but I don't see the text as being so irreparably promotional as to trigger G11. The requirements for G11 use strong language: unambiguous ... exclusively promotional ... fundamentally rewritten. The text could use improving, but I don't see it meeting that high bar. As for notability, that's for AfD to consider. -- User:RoySmith 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- PS: How long the article has existed, or what practices other language wikis employ, aren't factors. -- User:RoySmith 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Overturn clearly not a copyvio of that source as the link attributes Wikipedia as the source of the information. G11 is much more arguable but if a few sentences were trimmed I think it would be just about acceptable. If they really have topped the Icelandic music chart as claimed then they would presumably meet WP:NMUSIC. User:Hut 8.5 6 September 2018 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sing-la-la-la-by-Carolina-Marquez.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Sing-la-la-la-by-Carolina-Marquez.jpg.
Thank you.

Deletion discussion about Andrew Stoker
Hello, Werldwayd,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Andrew Stoker should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrew Stoker .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

RonBot (talk) 17:05, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Just-us-boyz-logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Speedy deletion nomination of Orascom Technology Solutions
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Orascom Technology Solutions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Jongnic Bontemps has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Doesn't meet WP:MUSICBIO or WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 12:51, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

Updates
Hello Werldwayd,
I have updated many new sources with an article you are very familiar with, Alex Gilbert. The subject is due to go to Russia very soon to take gifts and supplies to his old orphanage. See here [1] and from an press release [2]. I have not added this source as I believe this is a self published article from the I'm Adopted organisation. If there is anything you can do with the article. Clean up or expansion, feel free to have a look. He also recently wrote a note about his birth mother that you might be interested in reading but as this is self published on his verified social media, I have not referenced any of it. See here [3] and [4]. Thank you for your help on this article from the beginning! --TheDomain (talk) 08:47, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- I took a look at the references. It's good that you have used the NZ Herald article and it is now reflected in the article. About the other links, I hardly found anything that can be quoted actually and its basically from announcements, Instagram and personal blogs which are not usable. Of course when there are reports in media about his actual visit for donations to the orphanage even in Russian, we could use them. By the way, I am very much fascinated with all aspects of this fine young man and all his projects. Truly remarkable. Plus would be glad for contributing further for his article after it was turned down for so many times earlier.werldwayd (talk) 18:56, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with everything that you have said. Thank you for your contributions. It has come a long way! werldwayd! --TheDomain (talk) 08:52, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Choir Boy
Hello Werldwayd,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Choir Boy for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
