*I'll just put this in here as I didn't want that link in there regardless and I've only just seen it after waking up today. On the Christ the Lord Is Risen Today hook, the link to Llanfair PG (as the Welsh call it!) is a redirect to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Can we either change the link or (even better) remove it altogether? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:19, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

Revision as of 08:19, 1 April 2018

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

• Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
• Offer a correction if possible.
• References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
• Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 07:32 on 2 July 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
• Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
• Do not use edit fully-protected on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
• No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
• Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
• Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

TFA today

This is affecting all four sections, but I'm listing it here. The TFA and DYK sections are far too wide, leaving ITN and OTD as a very narrow column, with a vast area of blank space at the bottom of DYK. Mjroots (talk) 05:32, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

• Where is Easter? Just heading this off: fix the unreferenced section so that it is no longer a problem then feel free to come back here and ask to have it added. — xaosflux Talk 00:25, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Xaosflux: I removed the section entirely and explained on the article's talk page why. I think that fixes the issue? Killiondude (talk) 02:01, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it solves the main issue "unreferenced section" -Wikipedia:Selected_anniversaries/April_1, would like to hold on this for a couple of hours to see if you started a BRD cycle. — xaosflux Talk 02:11, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I already put it back in. howcheng {chat} 02:12, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds fine too. — xaosflux Talk 03:07, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
• The false fact about the daughter of Emperor Xiaoming phrased in a transphobic fashion. This is a known problem, which has been discussed before, and the person who has apparently taken ownership of these false facts has outright refused to even discuss whether it should be here.—chbarts (talk) 00:52, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
• I found the 'underwent gender reassignment' to be simply misleading or inaccurate. This term is in common use for when a person has surgery to change their gender. No surgery was done in the case of that young girl; she was simply 'declared' to be a boy. It would be more accurate for the headline to say 'was declared to a male' to replace 'underwent gender reassignment'. Note how Gender reassignment is a redirect to sex reassignment surgery. Ibanix (talk) 03:10, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
• Regarding ' Adolf Hitler was placed in a cage': The linked article Beer Hall Putsch has not use of the word 'cage' anywhere in the page. If the line is meant to say Hitler was jailed, it should say that instead. Ibanix (talk) 03:19, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
• And I just realized today's date. Those headlines are going to confuse english speakers not familiar with the 'holiday' events of April 1st, but I guess that's up to Wiki editors. Ibanix (talk) 03:22, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's an old, controversial but annual tradition. Here is a better place to debate whether to continue in years to come. Art LaPella (talk) 05:31, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
