A conglomerate is a large company that consists of diverse divisions that produce and sell unrelated goods and services.[1] Conglomerate companies tend to be large multinational corporations with operations in multiple regions of the world.

  • Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic Makeevka Metallurgical Plant, while being a part of Makeevka Metallurgical Combine, a huge industrial conglomerate, in 1960s produced more iron than Polish and Italian metal works and plants altogether.[42]
  • Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic Yuzhmash, a key participant in the Soviet lunar program, the first enterprize in the world that issued ballistic missile carrying a splitting warhead, currently employing only 13.000 workers.[43]
