*Cloak rooms and lockers-This facility is available on platform 1 and articles are accepted for booking 24 hours a day.
*Wheel chairs and stretchers-These can be obtained round the clock from the platform inspector's office on platform 1.
*Computerized reservation office-The reservation office building is located on the right hand side of the main entrance of the station building. It works from 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday and from 8 am to 2 pm on Sunday. It will remain closed on national holidays.
*Waiting rooms-Ladies, Gents and Upper class Waiting rooms are available on platform 1. These are open 24 hrs a day.
*Retiring rooms and dormitories. These are located on the first and second floors of the station building, above platform 1.There are 27 rooms in all, including 8 AC rooms, 18 Non-AC rooms and 1 room for railway officers. The dormitory has 50 beds in it.
*Post office-The post office is to the left of the main entrance of the station building. Registration of letters is done between 10am and 1.45pm and again from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Postage stamps are available between 8 am and 8.30 pm. Speed post facility is available round the clock. It remains closed on Sundays and National holidays.

Bengaluru City railway station or officially known as Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna[3] railway station is the main railway station serving the city of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It is located across the Kempegowda Bus Station. It is an important hub of the South Western Railway and the Indian Railways. The station has 10 platforms and two entrances. It is one of the busiest and cleanest stations in India.It is the first station in India to have free Wi-Fi access.[4]

Junction

Bangalore is one of the important junctions of India. Platforms 1 to 7 connect to the Chennai and Salem railway lines. On platforms 8 to 10, service trains arrive via Yeshwantpur from Hubli. Platforms 1 to 4 terminate at Bangalore. On platforms 5 to 10, service trains depart towards Mysore. There are railway lines between Platforms 4 and 5 that are used as the railway yard. There are 5 railway lines passing from Bangalore City Railway station. To Hyderabad via Guntakal, Chennai via Krishnarajapuram, Salem via Hosur, Mysore, Hubli via Tumkur, Birur. The Bangalore-Chennai railway line via Bangalore Cantonment, Bangarpet, is fully electrified and thrown open for traffic.

Railway Colony

A colony for railway employees is located behind the station. The colony is connected to the station through an over bridge. The colony has its own hospital and ground. The ground is mainly used for Cricket matches. There are many schools located inside the colony, like Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Expansion

A new building that will house a passenger concourse, ticket counters, basement parking and a restaurant will open at the Okalipuram entry. The building will cost 20 million (US$240,000).[6]
