Tolpiprazole (INN, BAN) (developmental code name H-4170) is an anxiolytic drug of the phenylpiperazine group that was never marketed.[1]

Synthesis

Patents:[2][3]

The last step in the synthesis involves attachement of the sidechain of 3-(2-chloroethyl)-5-methyl-pyrazole [54055-29-7] (1) with 1-m-tolylpiperazine [41186-03-2] (2) giving Tolpiprazole (3).
