*:It's Kobe, his daughter, and three others. That is a total of five. — Amakuru (talk) 22:45, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

::Everyone is a "former" holder of any given occupation after they are dead. Including the word doesn't add anything to the hook, and looks a little odd to me. — Amakuru (talk) 22:43, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Revision as of 22:45, 26 January 2020

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 20:39 on 7 November 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use edit fully-protected on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Earthquake toll up to at least 35, as per article. Brandmeistertalk 13:27, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in On this day

I've corrected the article, but I can't do the blurb. Mikenorton (talk) 22:00, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mikenorton I appreciate that, thanks. It's a shame we seem to have been displaying an error (which would have been easily checked surely?) all day. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 22:03, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in Did you know ...

  • humanist in the first sentence should link to Renaissance humanism, not to Humanism. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 01:43, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So not a philosophy major...a search of the article for 'humanist' takes me to the categories. 'Humanism' takes me to the infobox and books that only say humanism, not renaissance humanism. --valereee (talk) 22:28, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee: The Humanism article mainly deals with philosophical ideas dating from the 19th century onwards; Renaissance humanism more accurately covers the time period concerning Budé. Perhaps the books only state "humanism" because the Renaissance variety would probably be the only one they would be talking about. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 11:47, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, sorry, I did change it a couple hours ago, forgot to come back here! --valereee (talk) 12:35, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Collegium Trilingues did not become the Colle de France. The Collegium Trilingues was and still is in Leuven Belgium. The College de France was to some extent inspired by it but is quite separate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gobanian (talkcontribs) 17:08, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
