The Kids Menu is a 2016 American documentary film by Australian filmmaker Joe Cross about the growing childhood obesity problem. Cross who is the creator of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, made this film as an answer to audiences' inquiries about his thoughts on this issue.[1][2]

Plot[edit]

The documentary film features experts, parents, teachers and kids who discover that childhood obesity is in fact a symptom of a bigger problem.[3] It also raises key questions about the causes of childhood obesity and comorbidities. Its actors expose the real issue of lack of knowledge about healthy foods, access to healthy and affordable options and the negative influence of role models like parent, teacher or a celebrity. The Kids Menu introduces several programs in schools and communities to educate children about food and nutrition.[4][5][6] It also presents inspiring individuals paving the way for change with kids taking the lead for healthier options on their own menu. The film highlights the role of parents and suggests how children could understand the fundamentals of shopping, cooking, preparing food and demonstrate our influence on children in making healthy diet choices.
