RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) is an upcoming 2021 Indian Telugu-language period action film[3] written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. It stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.[4] It is a fictional story revolving around India's freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.[5] The film will be simultaneously released in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil languages on 8 January 2021.[6][7]



Principal photography of the film commenced on 19 November 2018 in Hyderabad. The first schedule involved an action sequence shot at a set erected at Aluminium factory, Hyderabad.[10] N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan and S. S. Rajamouli have taken off to Vadodara on 29 March 2019 to continue with the shoot of the film.[11] The film marks the South Indian cinema debut of actors Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt.[4] Hollywood actors Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris and Alison Doody play major roles.[8]

Marketing and release

The film was earlier scheduled to be released on 30 July 2020.[2] However, on 5 February 2020, a new release date of 8 January 2021 was announced.[12] The title logo and motion poster were unveiled on 25 March 2020.[13][14] Ram Charan's first look as Alluri Sitarama Raju was released on 27 March 2020[15][16]
